March Environment & Climate News :Scientists Question Quality of Government's Climate Data

The March issue of Environment & Climate News reports some 300 scientists, engineers, and economists sent a letter to U.S. Rep. Lamar Smith, chairman of the House Science Committee, warning data used by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to produce a 2015 report on climate change failed to comply with the Data Quality Act. "If NOAA had obeyed the law and carried out the required peer review of [the report], this whole affair could have been avoided. Hopefully NOAA will obey the law in the future," said William Happer, Ph.D., of Princeton University.
