Drugs Destroy the Mind. Well Duh!

By Rich Kozlovich

On July 10, 2023 The Ohio Star published this Laurel Duggan article, Large Study Links Heavy Marijuana Use to Psychotic Symptoms, Bipolar Disorder, Depression saying:

Cannabis use disorder, also known as marijuana addiction, was strongly tied to psychiatric problems, including psychotic symptoms and bipolar disorder, in a population-based study of Danish citizens’ medical records from 1995 to 2021.........Individuals with prior diagnoses of cannabis use disorder were up to four times as likely to be diagnosed later on with bipolar disorder and psychotic symptoms..........two times as likely to later be diagnosed with clinical depression, according to the study.............Nearly half of U.S. states have legalized recreational marijuana use, and widespread access to the drug has resulted in more prevalent use across the board, including among schoolchildren.

Almost ten years ago I had both my knees replaced, and was in surgery for some hours, and naturally, under anesthetic for all of that time.  I spent three months recovering before going back to work.  I've written a lot of articles over the last 20 years on every issue that's impacted humanity, and that's the source material for two books I've been working on....forever it seems.   At the rate I'm going, I may never get either of them done.   However, I scheduled my surgery in December of that year.  Since I was an exterminator that carried me through the slow season for my work.

During that three months I finish five chapters of one of my books, and was really proud of myself.  Then I finished my recover time, spring was emerging, and I went back to work, and didn't have time to continue working on the book until September.   I decided I had better review what I'd written, and here's what I discovered.  What I'd written was really crapola.  Yet at the time it all made perfect sense to me.  What happened?

I realized all those hours under anesthetic had an impact on my mind.  Whether this is true or not, I don't know, but I was told for every hour you're under impacts you for weeks before your mind returns to normal.  Well, based on my experience, I believe that.  Anesthetics are in reality mind altering drugs, and so too are all these illegal, or formally illegal drugs.   If one surgery lasting for a few hours can impact one's mind for many weeks and even months, what impact does daily, or regular use of mind altering drugs do to the mind?

This study actually confirms what was understood back in the 1960's when so many claimed that marijuana didn't impact humanity negatively, but as one expert testified before Congress testified, if that's true, then it's only true in America, because in the rest of the world that's a proven lie.

Nothing has changed, except we're suffering from rampant stupidity at higher levels of leadership in all of the nation's structural institutions, and I consider much of the decision making socially suicidal.

  • Update, 6/23/25:  Marijuana is proven again to be more dangerous than the left says June 18, 2025 by Andrea Widburg The left’s push to legalize marijuana isn’t about improving American life.  I despise marijuana. For that reason, I’m very glad when seemingly reputable studies back up my visceral sense that marijuana is a terrible drug that destroys people’s lives and, along the way, destroys American society. First, I went to ChatGPT for it to sum up the obvious, which is that a drug that alters people’s temporal and spatial perception makes them lousy drivers........In addition, a new study establishes that pot use dramatically increases heart disease in regular users:.....Again, if this were a burden only the users, so be it. But in a country in which everyone is insured, whether by private companies or the government, it is a burden on the nation, and I resent that.............

Welcome to Denver — a ‘Hellhole’ of Drugs

August 02, 2022Wayne Laugesen

DENVER —Friends and family arrived for a graduation in May at the University of Denver. We forgot to warn them.

Once a cosmopolitan utopia of clean, safe, family-friendly neighborhoods and parks, Denver now looks and feels like a drug orgy. The stench of marijuana wafts through neighborhoods where a small percentage of family dwellings have transitioned into pot farms . Walking through much of Denver and other Colorado cities, one becomes accustomed to stepping over and around growing numbers of full-time drug users living on sidewalks, parks, medians, and lawns.

The broad-based degradation started when voters approved Amendment 64 in 2012, which established the civilized world’s most lenient marijuana law. Critics argue legalization, problematic on its own, became a "gateway policy" that lowers political resistance to other illicit drugs. Indeed, in 2019, the Colorado Legislature and Democratic Gov. Jared Polis essentially decriminalized all schedule 1 and 2 drugs — including fentanyl, the nation’s leading killer of people ages 18-45...........To Read More....

EXCLUSIVE: How California's legal cannabis dream became a public health nightmare.

It's a class B drug in the UK - but in the US state it's led to spiraling addiction, psychotic illnesses and hospitals facing a deluge of poisonings

By Eve Simmons For The Mail On Sunday

A row of luxury 'healing' creams is guarded by a locked glass cabinet, gilded in gold trim. The packaging is stylishly minimal – clean and white with small black typeface – and beside the tubs sit decorative, artificial fruit and images of sprawling fields, with a small flyer to remind customers of the high-quality, organic nature of the products..............It's a far cry from Holland & Barrett, not least because all the products here at the Serra boutique contain high-grade, genetically engineered cannabis.

There are balms and lotions, things to eat and, of course, to smoke. One display cabinet showcases dozens of dried cannabis flowers, each bud sitting in its own pretty porcelain dish, labelled according to its supposed benefit: happiness, creativity, relaxation..............Over the past few years, doctors in California have begun to voice concerns about the repercussions of increasing cannabis use. In particular, how the laissez-faire approach is fuelling a surge in addiction and mental illness.....

'I want people to know the truth about this drug. We've been sold a lie, that cannabis use is harmless and even has a multitude of health benefits. It is exactly the same as what happened with tobacco. The industry told the public it was good for their health at first, before it was proven to be deadly.'........To Read More....

Awash in illegal pot farms, Oregon plans millions for relief

Theft of water during a drought. Exploitation of immigrant laborers. Intimidation of residents by armed criminals. A Democratic state senator from southern Oregon said his region, awash in illegal marijuana farms that are protected by gunmen, is starting to look more like a failed state.........

Seven years after Oregon voters passed a ballot measure legalizing the recreational use of marijuana and its regulated cultivation and sale, the state is grappling with an explosion of illegal marijuana farms that have brazenly cropped up, primarily in Josephine and Jackson counties in the south..........The illicit industry is generating billions of dollars in profits and is financed by well-heeled foreign criminal gangs and drug cartels, law enforcement officials said............Golden and two other lawmakers from southern Oregon, Rep. Pam Marsh, D-Ashland, and Rep. Lily Morgan, R-Grants Pass, previously said in a letter to Gov. Kate Brown that workers on the illegal farms are subjected to “conditions approaching slavery.”............To Read More.....

Biden administration considers cutting nicotine in cigarettes to make them 'non-addictive' (while super potent marijuana gets the greenlight in most states)

The Biden administration will consider forcing cigarette makers to reduce the nicotine in their cigarettes to levels that aren't addicting - at the same time more than half of U.S. states have legalized marijuana in some form. The administration already was considering banning menthol flavoring in cigarettes, but while they've been chewing over that rule, they've discussed going even further with the possible nicotine limits, according to the Wall Street Journal.  That means it could soon be forbidden to take a drag off a full-strength cigarette during your lunch break - but it's already perfectly legal to puff away on pot in 17 states and Washington DC. (When counting 'medicinal' use, it's legal in 34 states.).........To Read More....

Boehner Stands to Make Millions in Drug Money From Biden Win

The sordid motives behind the ex-Speaker's anti-Trump stand.

Fri Apr 16, 2021 Daniel Greenfield 12 comments

Nine years ago, the New York Times was accusing John Boehner of racism. Now it’s eager to lap up every drop of vomitous bile from the former Republican House Speaker.  When Boehner asked Obama to move his speech by one day to avoid clashing with a Republican debate, NBC political analyst Richard Wolffe suggested that Boehner only did it because of "the color of his skin". Wolffe meant Obama's skin, not Boehner's, which always looks like spoiled meat served in some blackmarket back alley cafe in Havana.

Since then Boehner has followed the usual career track of former RINOs from “worse than Hitler” to “sleazy lobbyist” to “author of unnecessary memoir bashing Trump”.  Boehner’s memoir On The House, like his political career, has no reason to exist. Even when he occupied one of the most powerful elected positions in the country, Boehner was mostly notable for looking like he was on the edge of tears. That and the time his bartender was arrested for wanting to poison him. That seemed unnecessary as Boehner was doing the job for him..........

Acreage Holdings has one of the biggest marijuana operations in America.................Biden had promised to legalize pot, and "Senator Kamala Harris... introduced the Democrat-championed bill that would essentially legalize marijuana on the federal level."  What’s at stake for Boehner? A lot. As Bloomberg News reported, he can “collect $1.59 million in cash once shareholders approve Canopy Growth Corp.’s acquisition of Acreage Holdings Inc..”  Boehner had 625,000 shares of Acreage at the time the article was written and it noted that, "if his former colleagues in Congress help make marijuana federally legal, he’d be eligible to receive Canopy shares worth about $16 million."...........To Read More....

‘This ain’t your mother’s marijuana,’ surgeon general says

WASHINGTON (AP) — Federal health officials issued a national warning Thursday against marijuana use by adolescents and pregnant women, as more states legalize the increasingly potent drug for medicinal and recreational use.

Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar and Surgeon General Jerome Adams made the announcement, with Azar calling marijuana “a dangerous drug.” Officials said President Donald Trump has donated $100,000 — one-quarter of his annual government salary — toward a digital campaign to raise awareness of the risks. Trump has forgone his official salary since taking office.
The warning comes as legal marijuana has grown into a $10-billion industry in the U.S. with nearly two-thirds of states legalizing it, mainly for medical uses.

Possessing small amounts of marijuana for adult recreational use is legal in 11 states and the District of Columbia, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. The list includes California, Colorado, Michigan and Maine. Federal law still treats it as a controlled substance akin to opioids.
Adams said science shows that marijuana is harmful to the developing brains of teenagers and to the human fetus. The drug has also gotten stronger, with a three-fold increase in the concentration of the active ingredient THC in cultivated plants over the last 20 years.

“This ain’t your mother’s marijuana,” Adams said............To Read More....

Commentary: War on Drugs: Crime, Violence, and Mental Illness

By Rich Kozlovich

Ten states and Washington, D.C., have legalized the recreational use of marijuana. Twenty-two other states, along with U.S. territories Puerto Rico and Guam, allow marijuana to be used for medical purposes. Let's examine some hidden issues about marijuana use........  Alex Berenson is a graduate of Yale University, with degrees in history and economics. He delivered a speech last month at Hillsdale College's Allan P. Kirby, Jr. Center for Constitutional Studies and Citizenship in Washington, D.C., on the hidden dangers of marijuana use. He told his audience, "Almost everything that you think you know about the health effects of cannabis, almost everything that advocates and the media have told you for a generation, is wrong."
Even the author, whom I've been reading and enjoying for years, can't bring himself to come to the right conclusion: We're losing the war on drugs because we're not fighting a war on drugs.

For the most part I’m a firm believer people have the right to screw up their lives. I’m also a firm believe it’s not my responsibility to fix them afterwards. If they make bad decisions let them live with it. Is that cold? Yes, but it’s based on reality.

These people screw up their lives and then cry and whine to the people who told them not to do the things that messed up their lives to help them. But invariably there's this spoken and unspoken caveat - "Don't you dare to tell me to stop what their doing".   Ask anyone who deals with drug rehab how many fail.

Being an exterminator for 37 years means I've been in other people's bailiwick every week for 37 years. I can see prominent businessmen, politicans or celebrities along with the dregs of society on any given day. In pest control you see it all, and if you’re not as obtuse as a rock, you begin to see patterns.

Years ago I had a restaurant account where I had become good friends with the chef for many years- at least I thought we were friends. Then he started getting nasty and unpleasant for no seeming reason. At some point I asked him why he was acting that way, and if I had done something to offended him please let me know, I would apologize. He got nastier and told me to just shut my mouth and just do my job and turned on his heel and walked away. The next week he was gone. The company paid to put him through rehab.

Then I remembered a conversation we had some years before when I told him one of the things I liked best about him was he was always stable. He said it wasn't always that way. He'd had a drug problem in years gone by and he said his emotions bounced all over the place.

When he returned to work, he was the same old friend he was before and apologized for treating me as he did. However, it didn’t last. It turned out to be an invaluable experience. I learned two things.

First, the nasty and unpleasant personality he displayed I see a lot. I’ve seen people go from normal and friendly to mean and nasty. I couldn’t understand it, at least until this episode.

The second thing I learned was that druggies are repeaters. In most cases they just can’t be fixed. The third thing I learned was not to automatically you are the problem…..you aren’t…..it’s them, and you need to get those people out of your life as quickly as possible.

Make not mistake about this. The violence and mental instability is going to grow like a deadly fungus on society.  The problem is we're not really fighting a war on drugs,

If society decides to ignore reality and accept drug addiction as a new social norm then there will be consequences to those addicted and those they impact. These drugs destroy people, and if and when it becomes common place, it will destroy society.

That’s history, and that history is incontestable.

State-Sponsored Hedonism: The Sobering and Frightening Dangers of Legalized Weed

By John Stonestreet | January 30, 2019

On election night 2018, while most of the nation’s attention was focused on the Democrats taking the House and the Republicans expanding their Senate majority, few noticed a funny smell wafting in from the Midwest.   Michigan became the 10th, and the first Midwestern, state to legalize the recreational use of marijuana. New York and New Jersey seem to be next in line, and more members of Congress now favor federal legalization. Legalized pot, it seems, is on a roll.

All of this is, pun intended, stone-cold crazy. The recreational use of marijuana is dangerous to individuals and degrading to public health and safety. Recently, in a lead New York Times op-ed entitled “What Advocates of Legalizing Pot Don’t Want You to Know,” Alex Berenson laid out the evidence for why this push toward legalization is exactly wrong. The article is sobering. Even frightening.........

Of course, I see every day what Berenson is talking about here in Colorado. As my friend Jeff Hunt at Colorado Christian University wrote in USA Today, the woes brought upon our state by legalized weed are significant: an increase in drug related traffic deaths and poison control calls, a growing black market, and marijuana related arrests for minority youth. Not to mention, it’s proven impossible to regulate, and to keep in state and out of schools. For all the promises of tax revenues being generated for education, one school superintendent retorted bluntly, “So far, the only thing that the legalization of marijuana has brought to our schools has been marijuana.”...........To Read More...

Steny Hoyer Recalls When GOP Ended Shutdown and Allowed Obamacare: ‘Thank God for John Boehner’

By CNSNews.com Staff | January 18, 2019

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D.-Md.) gave a speech on the House floor yesterday in which he heaped praise on former House Speaker John Boehner (R.-Ohio) for acting against the wishes of the majority of his own party in 2013 by agreeing to a deal to end a government shutdown and let Obamacare move forward.

“Thank God for John Boehner, who had the courage to say shutting down the government does not make any sense. It is a stupid policy,” said Hoyer.

“Thank God for John Boehner, who came to the floor, notwithstanding the fact only 87 of his Republican colleagues would support it, but with all the support of the Democrats, we opened up the government after 26 days,” said Hoyer..........To Read More...

My Take - Well, if there ever was an indictment against Boehner .... this is it!  That an the fact that's Boehner promoting marijuana.  Boehner says he's "evolved" and he's right.  He's evolved into a disgrace.

Actress Cynthia Nixon Calls for Marijuana Reparations for Blacks

By Melanie Arter | May 8, 2018 Actress Cynthia Nixon, best known for her role on “Sex and the City,” angered black leaders Monday by suggesting that legalizing marijuana in New York can be a form of reparations for slavery for the black community.  The actress turned New York gubernatorial candidate is running on a platform of legalizing marijuana.

“Now that cannabis is exploding as an industry, we have to make sure that those communities that have been harmed and devastated by marijuana arrests get the first shot at this industry,” Nixon told Forbes magazine.  “We [must] prioritize them in terms of licenses. It's a form of reparations,” she said.

Nixon’s comments sparked outrage from black leaders, including Rev. Al Sharpton, who tweeted, “I'm for legalizing marijuana and I like Cynthia Nixon but putting pot shops in our communities is not reparations.”..........To Read More.....

My Take - Have you ever read more obvious cognitive dissonance?  While claiming to support the legalization of marijuana because it's harmless - in the same voice declare they don't want pot shops in their community.  Why?  If marijuana is harmless why not have it in the corner candy store where there's a lot of young children?

Because marijuana is a disaster!  This effort to legalize it is a huge step in the destruction of the fabric of American society, and soon after harder drugs will be legalized.

We really need to get this.  The left isn't about freedom - it's about dependence - on them!

Drug addicted societies are incapable of thinking clearly, acting effectively and they're incapable of standing against the tyranny leftists insanely desire to impose on the world.   And the "Reverend" Al Sharpton is a disgrace, and always has been.

As you read the article you will also find it interesting that no matter what is said these black "leaders" who talk out of both sides of their months still find a way to play the race/slavery card.

Why do people keep trying to satisfy the unsatisfiable?

Look how the liberal drug culture has destroyed Eureka, California

Celebrate 420 Day by Pondering the Harmful Effects of Cannabis

By Alex Berezow — April 20, 2018

Since its founding in 1978, the American Council on Science and Health has been vehemently anti-smoking. Cigarettes kill people, if not from cancer, then from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The bottom line is that lighting something -- anything -- on fire and inhaling the fumes is bad for you.

That includes marijuana. The wacky tobaccy has a health halo of sorts surrounding it, probably because of the proliferation of medical marijuana over the years. This proliferation was due, in part, to health benefits that were greatly exaggerated by its proponents. In reality, if marijuana has any upside, it is likely limited to managing pain.

According to a review in the Italian journal Minerva Anestesiologica, data on the painkilling properties of marijuana are mixed. While it may be useful in treating some types of pain, such as chronic (noncancer) or neuropathic pain, it is no better than placebo for visceral pain or non-opioid analgesics for acute pain. And there are side effects. Medical marijuana can harm memory and cognitive function.

It's time for marijuana advocates to admit what is plainly obvious: Pot is a recreational drug. If Americans wish to legalize it, fine. (I voted to legalize it in my state.) But let's stop pretending that cannabis is a miraculous painkiller or wonder drug. It is not*. It's also far from clear that marijuana could help reverse the opioid epidemic. Most people who use it simply like getting high. And let's stop denying that legalizing marijuana will come with some serious public health consequences.

The Adverse Health Effects of Marijuana

A review article in the journal Annual Review of Medicine lists the adverse health effects of marijuana. They include:
  • Addiction/dependence. About 1 in 10 adult users become dependent on the drug.
  • Acute cognitive impairment. Marijuana affects concentration, decision-making, memory, and response time.
  • Persistent cognitive impairment. Chronic use of marijuana can cause memory and perhaps IQ loss, as well as harm the cognitive development of young people.
  • Psychosis. Marijuana can create feelings of paranoia and even hallucinations.
  • Lung damage. Like smoking a cigarette, smoking a joint harms the lungs, possibly leading to bronchitis or lung cancer.
  • Drug interactions. Marijuana may interfere with antiretrovirals, and it is possible that cannabis interacts with other drugs, too.
  • Accidental poisonings. Stories abound of children and pets accidentally consuming pot.
An added bonus: Car crash fatalities are up 12% on April 20th, the unofficial "marijuana holiday."

Be safe out there, stoners.

*Note: A drug derived from marijuana, cannabidiol, that treats epilepsy may soon get FDA approval. But it does not make a person get high.

Feel the Bern: Bernie Sanders is out to punish states that refuse pot legalization

By Monica Showalter April 20, 2018

Like the commie he is, Bernie Sanders likes coercion.  His latest coercive scheme is his new proposed law to punish states that resist marijuana legalization.

So much for laboratory of the states, which is the idea that each state should be free to do what its voters want and let the results speak for themselves.  Bernie doesn't like the laboratory of the states; he's all in for central planning, same as was done by the Soviet Moscow of his honeymoon.

Here's Bernie's new scheme, as reported by Forbes:………To Read More…..

Which Professions Smoke the Most Pot?

By Alex Berezow — April 12, 2018 @ American Council on Science and Health

The legalization of marijuana across the U.S. is beginning to reveal a treasure trove of information. Before, it was difficult to do research on the usage of pot because it was illegal, and people tend not to admit to doing things that are illegal.

However, with both the law and the public's attitude relaxing toward marijuana, people are opening up about their wacky tobaccy habits. The CDC took advantage of this and surveyed people aged 18 and over in Colorado, which legalized recreational pot in 2014.

The study population included only those respondents who (1) answered (either positively or negatively) whether they had ever consumed marijuana and (2) were currently employed or had been unemployed for less than one year. This whittled the study down to 10,169 respondents, who were then asked about current marijuana use (defined as at least once within the past 30 days) and occupation.

The results (shown without confidence intervals for clarity) are depicted below:

Source: CDC

In the chart, the blue bars represent the prevalence (as a percentage of the population) who currently uses marijuana in a given occupation. Food preparation/serving had the highest percentage of pot users, followed by arts/design/entertainment/sports/media. Perhaps slightly concerning, there is substantial use of marijuana among people who have jobs in which safety is a key concern. (These are marked by an asterisk *). For example, more than 16% of people in farming/fishing/forestry and construction/extraction admit to currently using marijuana.

Let's hope it's not while on the job. One study showed that fatal car accidents are higher by 12% on April 20, the unofficial "marijuana holiday."

The red bars show age-adjusted prevalence figures. In epidemiology, age-adjustment is a way to account for the fact that some groups (in this case, professions) have different proportions of young and old people. For instance, we would expect more young people (who are likelier to smoke pot) to be in jobs like food preparation/serving, while we would expect more older people (who are less likely to smoke pot) to be in jobs such as management.

Age-adjustment, therefore, pretends that all professions have the same proportion of young and old people. After performing this adjustment, the arts/design/entertainment/sports/media occupation group comes out as Colorado's top pot smokers. The least likely to use pot? Protective services.

That's probably a good thing.

‘Medical’ Marijuana a Con

By Dr. Carlton E. Turner @ American Center For Democracy

As the former Drug Czar under President Ronald Reagan, with an extensive background in marijuana research, I thought I should share some of my thoughts about ‘medical’ marijuana.

From 1970 to 1981, I held various positions at the Research Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Pharmacy at the University of Mississippi. During this time, I published over 100 original papers, chapters in books, patents, and two large Marijuana Bibliographies covering marijuana research starting in the 1880s. I also served as the Director of the federal government’s Marijuana Project.

That research project was funded by the National Institute of Mental Health and the National Institute on Drug Abuse. The project grew Cannabis sativa L. plants from seeds obtained from over 100 sites worldwide. We processed the plant material into marijuana and supplied this standardized research marijuana to researchers throughout the world. All of the marijuana shipped was analyzed by a procedure developed at the University and recognized as the world standard by the United Nations Narcotic Laboratory.

Now that you know a bit of my background let me give you the facts about marijuana:
Marijuana is a very crudely prepared drug comprised of the dried leaves, small stems, and flowers of the Cannabis plant. Marijuana contains unique chemicals called cannabinoids. Cannabinoids have biological activity and have been the subject of thousands of research studies since the 1970s. Some cannabinoids can be medicinal and have been regulated by the FDA, and prescribed by licensed physicians since 1985.

The synthetic form of the major psychoactive ingredient in marijuana, Delta-9-THC (Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol), known as Marinol®, is prescribed daily by physicians for nausea, vomiting, as an appetite stimulant for AIDS patients, and to ease the pain in multiple sclerosis patients. Another drug, which has been approved by the FDA is the Nabilone, a synthetic cannabinoid, which is prescribed for vomiting in patients undergoing cancer treatment.

Pro-drug groups, marijuana users, the media, politicians, and those wanting to profit from marijuana sales distort the truth about FDA-approved cannabinoid drugs and all cannabinoid research findings. They claim that society should not use marijuana derivative drugs approved by the FDA. That only “natural” marijuana should be used as medicine. To further cloud the facts, medical reporters claim marijuana works for many ailments, but in reality, they are referring to cannabinoid drugs. The marijuana legalization advocates want to confuse the public to accept that ‘natural’ marijuana as a panacea for any human condition, and falsely claim it is safe to use as an unregulated “medicine.” But this so-called “medical marijuana” is a fraud and a con job.

The fact is that marijuana is a dirty drug with so many different side effects that it will never pass the required safety and efficacy testing for medicine. Marijuana can contain over 700 individual chemicals, and when smoked the number of chemicals expand to the thousands. The smoke contains 50 percent to 70 percent more cancer-causing compounds than tobacco.

To argue that the “natural” plant form of marijuana should be used over FDA approved marijuana derivatives is like telling a mother whose child is suffering from a bacterial infection that she should offer her child moldy bread instead of penicillin.

Think about the life expectancy when people took herbs for medical conditions compared to the life expectancy with modern medicines.

Marijuana is not, and will never be medicine.
* Carlton E. Turner, Ph.D., served as Deputy Assistant to President Ronald Reagan for Drug Abuse Policy and as Director of the White House Drug Abuse Policy Office. Turner is considered one of the nation’s leading experts on the pharmacology of marijuana.

Colorado's crime rate was declining... until they legalized marijuana

By Sierra Rayne

Despite what the Big Pot lobbyists claim, the evidence is starting to mount that Colorado's experiment with legalized marijuana has led to increased crime in the state.   According to the latest 2014 Crime in Colorado report by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, the crime rate -- based on arrests statistics -- increased 9 percent from 2013 to 2014. But that is only part of the story. Looking back on the crime rate data over the preceding decade, the state's crime rate was rapidly declining (by 32 percent overall) from 2004 through 2012. Since 2012, the crime rate has increased more than 21 percent……To Read More…..

My Take - When will we learn if the left supports something - anything - then that's more than adequate reason to be against it? Truth is the sublime convergence of history and reality. Historically dystopia follows leftism - everywhere and in every arena. Reality demonstrates that basic fundamental truth. Why do we listen to their insanity? Because people in positions of power and responsibility in government, the media, academia and industry selfishly promote this clabber because they'll benefit in some way.

They must be insane because history has shown they will pay the same penalty as the rest of society eventually. They must know that! But it's like those who kept investing in real estate as the housing bubble kept expanding beyond the ability to recover. They kept thinking they were smart enough to get out at the right time - and they knew the collapse was coming at some point. But greed kept getting in the way of wisdom! They just couldn't leave a nickel on the table and walk away. Unfortunately they always take the rest of society down with them.

That's history - that's reality!
