America Has A Foundational Cultural Crisis

By Rich Kozlovich

My daily searches include American Thinker, and right after Daniel Greenfield's Sultan Knish blog, it is in fact the first "general news site" I visit every day, and for a number of reasons.  First, the articles are first rate, and there are a number of writers there who I think are exceptionally bright.

The subjects covered are wide and varied, and while there are times I disagree with the authors, for the most part the views expressed there are most similar to my own.

I also enjoy the comments section.  Some things seem to ring true about most of the commenters at American Thinker, and that is most are more intelligent than so many who comment on other sites.  Many appear to me to be older for the most part, well informed, and successful in their lives, either professional, personally, or both, and I can block time wasting trolls, unfortunately I'm limited to a maximum of six.  I've reached my maximum.

On July 6th J.R. Dunn published this article, Transgenders: The Real Numbers saying:

The other day I came across a piece of information that puts the entire transgender craze into about as much perspective as it is ever going to require. This is actually something I knew from years ago, but that I’d let slip thanks to a conviction that, obvious as it was, it certainly must have arisen in the debate already. Well, it turns out that it never has, and that the transgender debate has been careening across the public square in a completely fact-free manner. Which, in light of previous debates concerning COVID, “global warming,” and radical feminism, fails to surprise me.  Gender dysphoria, which is the medical syndrome upon which the transgender movement is based, is actually one of a cluster of similar disorders. Among these is Body Integrity Dysphoria:

All of which has to make everyone wonder how this came to dominate the news, and government involvement?  Well, Dunn's article generated a lot of comments from American Thinker readers, including this comment, actually commentary,  from Eric that I felt was articulate and well thought out, and he graciously allowed me to publish it.

It’s a direct result of the left’s total monopoly of K-12 schools, higher education, Silicon Valley and their apps, the MSM, Hollywood, government, bureaucracies and professional/accreditation agencies. Every US kid in our public school system, most private schools and many supposed religious schools are inundated by the CRT, diversity, victim groups and LGBTG+ propaganda 24/7 nonstop. Everyday- from morning until night, throughout their formative years, until the age of 18-25.

They are exposed to it by teachers, see it in on television shows, movies and commercials.
It’s all over social media and the politicians and news outlets can’t stop talking about it. The net effect resulted in 2 generations of young people concluding that…

1- Gender dysphoria is common.
2- If I don’t fit in, feel depressed, am out of sorts etc I might have it.
3- If I switch genders it will solve all of my problems/issues
4- By switching genders, I will gain victim status and the ability to upend the power dynamics of my school/society etc.

The only counteracting forces against these assaults are a child’s family, friends, religion and local community. Societal decay, loss of morals/values and the high cost of living work in tandem exacerbating the problem.

64% of children in the US are raised in 2 parent homes by married couples. In almost half of US households both mom/dad work full time, meaning the average child spends the vast majority of their day away from mom/dad.  Even the best parents struggle to protect their kids from such a constant threat, especially given the finite amount of time they actually have to spend with their kids.

Christianity in the west has done virtually nothing to fight this toxic agenda. Their acquiescence to easy divorce, casual sex, new wave feminism, gay marriage, DIE, Open Borders, the trans agenda, pop culture etc laid the groundwork for the environment we find ourselves in today. Worse still, it renders most institutions as nothing more than another avenue to target our children. Just look at everything coming out of the Catholic Church nowadays, every public statement could have been made by an anchor from MSNBCNN.

Most communities in the US are leftist and I can say, with firsthand knowledge, that even if you are actively involved in your children’s lives, the greatest obstacle is always, they’re friends. Without fail, every time my kids did something stupid or got caught up in something, it was because of their peers. Peer pressure, the teenage drive to fit in and gain acceptance etc are a very real force and even more powerful today with the advent of cancel culture, hate speech, misinformation/disinformation, wrongthink, constant accusations of racism and a billion different phobias.

The left knows this and uses it to their advantage. Because they’re able to target/monopolize all of our kids, your kids friends are co-opted into their agenda and against you. So the whole time a parent fights this evil, they’re being undermined by their kid’s friends, counselors, school administrators etc. That’s what makes it such a vile and pernicious movement and that’s why it’s so incredibly hard to defeat.

The left is using that monopoly to push their whole agenda…
The Green Agenda
LGBTQ…
DIE/CRT/Reparations
Open Borders
Democratic Party government

And that monopoly led to 27% of 18-29 year olds voting in the Midterms, with 60% voting Democrat. The Democrats lost every slice of the electorate from 45 years and up, by over 7 points, but won voters under 30 by 11 points. Their indoctrinated population is keeping them in power and this voting bloc is on the verge of dominating the electorate.
