Common Sense versus Nonsense. Make Your Pick!

Today’s Democrat Party is in disarray because they stand for nothing and make little to no sense in the process. For instance, leftists howled about climate change being THE most important issue of our lifetime. Repeat – THE most important issue of our lifetime. 

They demanded that gas appliances be replaced with electric appliances. They demanded that gas vehicles be replaced with electric vehicles. For years, they celebrated Elon Musk and Tesla manufacturing quality electric cars.  Yet today Democrats are rampaging through Tesla dealerships and torching Tesla ELECTRIC cars. 

Apparently climate change isn't as important than they said, and common sense Americans understand that climate change was never the issue. Climate change was just a smoke screen for control. The smoke has cleared, and this is today’s Democrat party:

• Defunding the police
• No voter ID needed to vote
• Transgender children without parent’s knowledge
• Creating sanctuary cities that welcome illegal alien invaders
• Putting illegal aliens ahead of veterans and other Americans in need
• Abolishing ICE to allow criminals to enter and remain in the United States
• Taking guns from law-abiding citizens
• Censoring conservative voices• Promoting critical race theory
• Promoting DEI & other woke policies
• Allowing abortion on demand
• Letting MALES play in female sports and injure females
• Defending fraud, waste and abuse in government spending
• Offering student loan forgiveness
• Embracing pro-terrorist rallies on college campuses
• Silence at rising anti-Christian and anti-Semitic words and actions
• Not requiring cash for bail

Follow Up:  AOC is Democrat Party’s leader

Last week, we warned about writing off Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, better known as AOC, as a clown offering us humor with her asinine comments and antics. Texas Representative Jasmine Crockett is a close second. Remember, AOC supports every- thing we just listed as today’s Democrat Party’s nonsense values.

Our article shared how Europe and America initially thought that Adolph Hitler and Benito Mussolini were buffoons. Look how that turned out. A recent CNN poll found that while Democrats overwhelmingly view President Trump as an extremist (because adhering to the U.S. Constitution and offering common sense policies is extreme to Democrats), these are the folks who “best reflects the core values” of the party when seeking someone to LEAD the party:

• 10% - Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, New York representative
• 09% - Kamala Harris, former vice president
• 08% - Bernie Sanders, Vermont Senator (calls himself a Socialist Democrat)
• 06% - Hakeem Jeffries, House Minority Leader, New York representative
• 04% - Jasmine Crockett, Texas representative
• 04% - Barack Obama, former president (2009 - 2015)
• 02% - Chuck Schumer, Senate Minority Leader

At the same time, consider that the most outspoken nuts on the left are in secure districts. That is why AOC and Crockett can say the dumbest things and not worry about it. Crockett’s Texas district in Dallas is rated by the Cook Political Report as D+27. AOC’s New York district is rated D+28.

Nothing of Value

Over this last year I've noticed someone is going back into my files are reading really old articles, which I'm a bit fascinated by, as well as pleased.  P&D is a small blog, but it is hit internationally quite a bit. As I see that happening I will go back and read those articles, and perhaps I'm being a bit vainglorious, think they're pretty good. I originally published this on Sunday, April 29, 2012, and while it's clearly dated, it's still profound. 

I keep marveling at the depth of information that is available on every conceivable subject that is missed by the media; and that includes Fox News. Did I say missed? Foolish me; perhaps I should use the correct term…."ignored"!

I had a conversation with a friend of mine Saturday who commented that all of his friends think that what we need to do is tax the rich. I went on a bit of a rant about how incredibly stupid this was, and explained to him the reality of numbers; as in who is actually paying all the taxes right now; that we now have approximately 47% of the population that pays no federal income tax ; that we now have more people on the public dole (in some form or another) than pay taxes; along with a short dissertation about the Great Depression and whose fault it really was and why. Stuff he had never before heard. Why was he unaware of all of this? Why isn't this on all the news channels?

What is most fascinating to me is that he and all of his friends live conservative lives. They go to work, they marry, they have children, they educate them and they pay their bills and mortgages. So why do they live conservative lives, raise their children to live conservative lives, and then support or promote liberal policies? Why don’t these people preach what they practice?

When shows like The Five become overnight successes it demonstrates to me that Fox is almost as worthless as NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN and all the other talking head news shows, not quite as bad, but bad enough. So whose fault is that? It is the public's fault. When the public starts watching shows on Fox like the Wall Street Journal Report, which has intelligent insightful discussion devoid of interruptions and snide remarks, things will change.

Does anyone think that is going to happen any time soon? I certainly don’t think so. Why do I say that? Did you ever notice the magazine rack at the grocery store checkout line? In years gone by it was loaded with rags that touted such nonsense as 'fish boy' and 'children of aliens' stories. Then there were the more 'main stream' rags that 'exposed' indiscretions by famous people that never happened.

Most of them are gone or have had a serious drop in readership. Why? Are we to assume that people are more intelligent, more sophisticated, more serious minded; or are we to assume that they can use the internet instead? I support the latter explanation, not to mention that we now have ‘reality’ shows on television making sleazy people rich and famous by being sleazy.

I have seen snippets of all of these shows and I am so embarrassed for them that I can’t stand more than a few minutes. Try watching “Mob Wives” for more than a few minutes. That is even more unbearable than the “Real Housewives of Atlanta”. Can these people be described as anything other than foul mouthed ignorant people publicly exposing their lack of decency? 

The rest are almost as bad, but I think these two stand out as the most obnoxious examples. So what exactly is it that the pubic really wants? Is it depth of insight, knowledge and understanding people crave?  Since it is meanness, meaninglessness and shallowness that is rewarded; that must be what they crave!

In days gone by this would have never been allowed by the networks, or tolerated by the public. Today it is entertainment… big time entertainment. We no longer have a moral compass as a society. Nothing is right, nothing is wrong; everything is painted in a gray shallowness. When that happens then everything is right and everything is wrong, depending on the latest philosophical flavor of the day. When that happens society will fall for anything because there are no stable values! When traditional values are abandoned we are left with nothing of value and we eventually will lose everything.

As for right now; we have lost our minds! It won’t be long before all else follows.

A Little Perspective Will Do Very Nicely Right Now

I've been going back into my files to find an article I wish to republish, and unfortunately, I didn't really think I would still be doing P&D, so for years I didn't tag anything....yeah.... I know...stupid.   

At any rate, I came across an article I wrote in 2013, and since there's so much talk about government shutdown, implying vast horrors and the end of the Republic, I thought it might be worth republishing.  Kinda putting some perspective on the whole thing, and truthfully, I think a government shutdown would do the nation a world of good.  

The title of that article was, The Value of Sequester!

Recently I was in Washington as part of the National Pest Management Association Legislative Day initiative.  Having had my knees replaced recently I was still having difficulties walking and needed a cane.  I was delusional in thinking I was in better shape than I was.  I should have stayed home.   

It’s good to have understanding friends with you in those circumstances.  At any rate, we were scheduled to go to the Senate offices and the lines were around the block.  Why?  Apparently this was part of the ‘sequester’ cuts. 

A couple of things happened that day I have thought about and chuckled about ever since.  First, let me tell you that artificial knees set bells of on the scanners.  I said to the guards, smilingly, as I pointed to my legs….”knees”.  I also said it all three times they made me walk through the scanner - without my cane - smiling.  Finally one of the guards smiled and asked; ‘both knees’?  I said yes and he used a hand scanner.  Then we both chuckled and said smilingly, “knees”.  I thanked them, we all smiled and I move on.  

There are couple of things have come to my mind as I have thought of that day.  I set off the bells at the Senate office building and I didn’t have to be x-rayed, strip searched or patted down in a most intimate embarrassing manner in that building.  A building I have to assume is run by top notch security personnel who had to undergo strong background checks before being hired.  

So then, why do TSA personnel do those things at airports?  Especially since it has been reported that a substantial number of these people are disreputable characters who were hired with background checks that were either poorly done or not done at all! 

Oh, there was one more thing I have chuckled over for some time.  As I finally went through the scanners and was putting myself together they run whatever it is you are carrying through a belt system that presumably scans your stuff.  As this was going on a young woman came to the head of the line and demanded to be put through the system right then and there because she “was important”. 

 The guard calmly told her…no! 

Then she further intoned, with righteous indignation I might add, that they should have separate line for people of her prominence. The guard calmly said we have heard that before and promptly ignored her. 

She left in a huff and went to the back of the line, which was still around the block.We all chuckled because as it turned out that she wasn’t all that important after all. And, I would like to report that the nation lasted another day, and life went on. Imagine that. I wish more people would remember they won’t read your resume at your funeral. 

As for some bigger point I may be trying to make, well, there really isn't one. 

I just kept chuckling over this and thought I would write about it because as so often is the case it's those the small inconveniences that brings out the character in people. If there is a bigger point to all of this, it's that I am fortunate to have had friends with me that were extremely tolerant and helpful to a guy in obvious pain; going out of their way to accommodate me. 

The nation survived another day and life went on, and I won’t forget the kindness extended to me by my friends. Those are the ‘important’ people! And just kinda chuckle and think; none of this would have occurred without sequester.

The World is Shocked: Trump's Numbers are Going up. And They Wonder Why!

We can expect any government economic claims to be downgraded.  Bidenomics is working very well if you’re NOT an American. Zero Hedge reports that 1.2 million American born workers have been replaced by nearly 700,000 foreign born workers. Let’s Go Brandon!

In August, the Department of Labor reported that the economy added 187,000 new jobs. Nearly 100,000 jobs came from health care and social assistance, which sounds like what Joey needs. If you’re a betting person, there are some things you can bet will soon happen:

• Joe Biden will mumble incoherently about an incident that never took place.
• Joe Biden will see a crowd of people and immediately walk over to a young girl to sniff her hair.
• Joe Biden will give a speech and then wander aimlessly around the stage or walk out of the room before the ceremony has ended.
• The Labor Department will revise DOWN the August numbers.

Peter Schiff, chief economist and global strategist at Euro Pacific Capital, tweeted on X/Twitter:

“Every 2023 #jobs report has been revised significantly lower.”

The Bureau reported that the unemployment rate rose to 3.8% in August from 3.5% in July. That’s the biggest one-month jump since May. While we’re on the topic of jobs, former

Ford CEO Mark Fields said on Closing Bell Overtime:

“You have to make over $100,000 per year to afford a new car right now.”

And yet, on the Republican side, Democrats and Never Trumpers cannot figure out why Donald Trump isn’t sinking in the polls. Former House Speaker and 2012 presidential candidate Newt Gingrich explains:

“I keep trying to tell people, he is not a candidate. You can’t think of him as a candidate. He is the leader of a mass movement. They are competing with a leader in a completely different world.”

In May, Vivek Ramaswamy’s campaign admitted that before announcing his candidacy, he paid an editor to revise his Wikipedia biography.  One fact Ramaswamy wanted deleted from his bio was that in 2011 he received a $90,000 scholarship from the Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans.

Ramaswamy has claimed in several interviews that the “only” reason he took the $90,000 scholarship was because he “didn’t have the money” for Yale Law School. He didn’t have the money??? Per Fox News, according to his tax returns, Ramaswamy’s reported 2011 income the year he accepted the $90,000 scholarship was $2.2 million.....maybe Ramaswamy’s idea of poor is earning 50 percent less the previous three years. From Fox News, this was his income the prior three years:

• 2010 $1.1 million + working as a hedge fund analyst
• 2009 $1.1 million + working as a hedge fund analyst
• 2008 $1.1 million + working as a hedge fund analyst

Responding to Fox News, Ramaswamy's campaign spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin said:

"Vivek won a generic scholarship that hundreds of students win to attend graduate school. It was funded by a relative of George Soros who is long dead. Vivek would have been a fool to turn down that scholarship – Anyone who would have shouldn't get anywhere near he White House doing trade deals."

Putting aside the Soros connection, if someone is earning between $1.1 and $2.2 million, why would they accept a $90,000 scholarship? Wouldn’t they be taking scholarship money from a student who REALLY needed the tuition help?

Illegal immigration is destroying American cities, cities that proudly proclaimed they were "sanctuary cites", until the illegal immigrants actually showed up thinking they really wanted them to come there.

If this wasn’t reality, it would make a great comedy skit. New York City Mayor Eric Adams repeatedly declares it is a sanctuary city for  illegal aliens . This works out fine if the illegal aliens are somewhere else. Once illegal aliens start showing up in the Big Apple, Adams cries that illegal aliens are destroying New York City. Duh!  

During a September 6 townhall meeting on New York’s Upper West Side, Adams said that at the current pace, illegal aliens (well, he didn’t call them that) claimed:

“will destroy this city.” “...I don’t see an ending to this. I don’t see an ending to this. This issue will destroy New York City, destroy New York City. We’re getting 10,000 migrants a month.”

Are we now a communist nation?

Some recent events that make us wonder if the republic can be saved.

·         Six Republican and unaffiliated Colorado voters filed a lawsuit on September 6 seeking to disqualify President Trump from appearing on the state’s 2024 presidential ballot.

·         Henry “Enrique” Tarrio, who once led Proud Boys, was sentenced to a whopping 22 YEARS in prison re January 6.

·         In May, Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes was sentenced to 18 YEARS re January 6. Compare that to the average sentence of MURDERERS and RAPISTS in Democrat-controlled cities, especially those with Soros-funded district attorneys. By the way, Tarrio was NOT in D.C. on January 6, 2021.

Or is the tide turning to freedom?

With our prayers and involvement, we must have hope of saving our republic. Let’s look at some recent wins that show the tide might be turning in the direction of Conservative Judeo-Christian values. However, we need Republican leadership, which seems to be in short supply:

• In Florida, Dr. John Littell, a longtime family physician and a medical school professor was reinstated after losing his board certification for criticizing COVID-19 treatments. American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) that issues certification for his specialty is the third largest of 24 boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties.   Reinstatement is happening throughout the United States but doesn’t erase the fact that these medical boards tried in earnest to silence doctors with different views (on COVID treatments, the vaccine, etc.). Shame!

• The U.S. Southern District of Texas ruled on Sept. 1 that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) abused its authority under federal law when it advised Americans to “stop” using the drug Ivermectin as a treatment for COVID-19. Three doctors sued in federal court and were elated that the court ruled that the FDA overstepped its authority and unjustifiably interfered with their ability to practice medicine. (Sadly, think of all the people who might have been saved had they taken Ivermectin.) The court’s decision allows the three physicians to pursue legal action.

• Disney is so desperate for viewers that they slashed their subscription to Disney+ (commercials included) to $1.99 from its regular $7.99 monthly rate. If you are a Conservative/Republican, you MUST not make excuses for going to Disney parks, subscribing to Disney channels, taking Disney cruises, eating at Disney’s Club 33 because you know people in high places, cruising on Disney ships, etc. If Conservatives and Republicans cannot come together to boycott all things Disney in the fight to save our nation, we might as well start drawing the hammer and sickle on our flag.

And they can't understand why Trump's numbers keep going up? Faith, family and country, no matter how depressing the news, we must never give up our belief in faith, family, and country. Pray for our country, President Trump and J6 prisoners!

A Very Bored People

Much of what Americans deal with would never have been on our forefathers’ radar. Why do we spend so much time on such trivialities?  Go to any mainstream website, and on the very first screen, there will almost certainly be a story about one of the following: the royals, some Hollywood personal drama, musicians’ love lives, or some fight between athletes........... What do we do with all of that free time gained by the luxury of modern food production, distribution, freezing/cooling, and sale? For many of us, we just waste it......we find ourselves fighting over trivialities and spending hours listening to pampered royals complaining about how hard life is in a $30 million mansion or similar tripe.................

It is said that one can judge a person based on what makes him angry. One might suggest that one can judge a person based on how he or she uses free time, whether it be 10 minutes or six hours a day. With the downward trends in religion, family, and patriotism, the very issues that gave generations direction and focus on how to use their time are now in retreat. Serious people would not have endless hours for TikTok videos or Instagram postings. But we are oftentimes not very serious people, and savvy tech entrepreneurs are providing us with fluff to fill our unused hours..............To Read More....

 

Cascading mistakes are destroying our nation

I've made a lot of stupid mistakes during my seventy-five years, so maybe I have no right to speak, but I just can't help myself.  Some mistakes are beyond the pale — and they are numerous.  Some have implications far in excess of the immediate events.   Three examples will suffice.

The first of these happened in Newport News, Virginia at Richneck Elementary School.  A six-year-old boy pulled a gun out of his pocket and shot his teacher, Abby Zwerner, who suffered serious injuries requiring multiple surgeries, with possible life-long impairments to follow. .........The shooter, known in the press as "John Doe," is, according to news reports, a troubled child.  "Troubled" is a euphemism in this case.  Doe has reportedly exhibited violent tendencies from the time he entered kindergarten. ...........

The second example involves a related video, in which an eleven-year-old boy brazenly and persistently bullies adults, repeatedly punching one, and using X-rated epithets at others.  When he is physically resisted by one of his victims, he loudly accuses the adults of child abuse.  He has learned the vocabulary of victimhood. .............

Our third and final illustration will tie much of it together.  On the second of December, 2015, fourteen people were murdered in San Bernardino, California, by a married couple who were Islamic-motivated terrorists.  Many more were seriously injured before the two terrorists were killed by police......

We have replaced competence with ineptitude, truth with propaganda, and courage with cowardice.  

It is long past time that we re-establish the principles of Judeo-Christian values; unapologetically embed them in our laws and jurisprudence; and stop bowing down to our woke, would-be masters every time they call us Nazis.  We must return force with overwhelming force, and never slow down until they stop ruining our nation.

Failing Accountability Leads to Chaos

I used to work for a major defense contractor. We referred to our company as the best machine shop in the world. We could manufacture virtually any part, to even the most exacting tolerances. The company had even received numerous “Excellence” awards from the Navy for ingenuity, customer service, and workmanship.

And then in the 1990s, the company decided to try something different. Our president had a brainstorm -- which is always scary coming from someone with a Harvard MBA and little manufacturing experience. He decided that we didn’t need quality control inspectors -- those folks that check final parts to ensure compliance with the engineering specifications. He posited that our machinists were so good that they could check their own work. We could lay off the quality control inspectors and save a ton of money. They were redundant anyway -- just checking the same things the machinists had already checked. Management proceeded with the plan -- not bothering to implement any alternative system of accountability.........To Read More....

Values: Just a Thought or Two

I just saw a great ad for sweat shirts and t-shirts with great sayings.  Here are my favorites, with a bit of paraphrasing on my part, especially since someone there clearly had me in mind when they developed these sayings.  So I turned them into conversations.    Here are five conversations I've developed from those sayings.  

Conversation with nitwits.

You know that little voice inside your head that keeps you from saying things you shouldn't say. Yeah, I don't have that.  Sorry, did I roll my eyes out loud?  I've had my patience tested.  I'm negative.  Stupid people are like glow sticks. I want to snap them and shake the crap out of them until the light comes on.  I'm not arguing, I'm just explaining why I'm right.  I'm going to let God fix it. Because if I fix it I'm going to jail. I may look calm, but in my head, I've slapped you three times.

 

Conversation with halfwits.

 

Think while it's still legal.  I may be wrong, but that's highly unlikely, because that's what I do. I read books, I drink tea, I know things.  Of course I talk to myself.  Sometimes I need expert advice.

 

Conversation with my wife.

 

If I said I'll fix it I will.  There's no need to remind me every six months. My favorite people call me Papa.  Admit it. Life would be boring without me. It's weird being the same age as old people. 

 

Conversation with millennials, Gen X'ers, etc.

 

No, I can’t do Snapchat or Tik Tok, but I can write in cursive, do math without a calculator and tell time on a clock with hands.  

And finally, a conversation with traditionalists.

December 7th came and passed and hardly anyone seemed to remember December 7th, 1941 was supposed to be a date that would live in infamy.  No matter how pro or anti military one may be, it must be recognized, the willingness to embrace solid traditional values and stand up for those values is foundational to a stable society.  So when asked what is a veteran?  Here's the answer.

A veteran is someone who at one point in their life wrote a black check made payable to the people of this nation, for an amount up to and including their life.  That's honor, and there are way too many people who no longer understand that.

So, having said all that, I would like to draw your attention to my Monday, November 11, 2019 Movie Review: Midway saying:

Typically, I don’t do sports or entertainment on Paradigms and Demographics unless there’s some social commentary involved. I’m making an exception today. World War II has always been emotional for me. My father and uncles fought in it, some were never the same again. My father was in the Navy and took part in seven major invasions, and actually saw the flag raising on Iwo Jima.

Yesterday evening I went to see the new Midway movie. This isn’t a remake of the old movie, and I can honestly say this will be numbered among the best Word War II movies ever. I’ve seen a lot of movies on Pearl Harbor, Midway, Jimmy Doolittle’s raid on Tokyo, and I think this one is the absolute best dealing with this subject, especially in the time frame of 2 hours and 18 minutes. The time does not drag I assure you. In the past movies on these subjects spent way too much screen time on sub-stories and personal relationships that didn’t enhance the main story, and in this case the battle of Midway. 

 

However, this version isn’t just about the Battle of Midway. It takes in the entire context of the war at that time, starting with the Japanese attack of Pearl Harbor, and I can assure you there never was a more convincing demonstration of the devastation that took place than you will see in this movie. The special effects were startling, amazing and heart breaking. Then they covered the attack on Tokyo by Lt. Col. Jimmy Doolittle, and ended with the battle of Midway.

The sub stories enhance the main theme, which was all about the heroism and sacrifice by a lot of very young men who went into battle knowing they were facing an enemy with superior numbers and equipment. Pilots attacked the Japanese fleet with substandard planes and equipment knowing they were probably not coming back. I found watching the scenes showing so many of them being blown up very emotional.

I also think Woody Harrelson did an excellent job of portraying Admiral Nimitz. However, this wasn’t a movie that was cast driven. There were some well-known stars, but they were in supporting roles. The star was the story, and done by actors I’d never heard of before. It was a story that needed to be told in the way it was told, and by the actors who told it.

This movie was all about the story, and sacrifice.  

Describing this war in the movie “In Harm’s Way”, Commander Eddington tells Captain Rockwell Torrey, “Old Rock of Ages, we've got ourselves another war. A gut bustin', mother-lovin' Navy war.”  That  movie was fictional.  This movie shows just how gut busting it really was. 

 

This movie depicts another generation. 

 

This movie shames the current generation.

I found it very emotional.   See it. 

Republican Warfare, Part III: National Conservatism and Massive Tax Increases

In yesterday’s column, I explained Republicans are not credible advocates of lower tax rates if they don’t also push for spending restraint.

And, as I explained to the Adam Smith Institute, they will be de facto advocates of higher taxes if they embrace the wrong version of national conservatism.

To understand why I’m concerned, look at the most-recent edition of the Congressional Budget Office’s long-run fiscal forecast.

It shows that the burden of government spending is going to substantially increase over the next three decades – largely due to the unchecked growth of entitlement programs such as Medicare and Medicaid.

Failure to control spending will mean two bad things – either huge tax increases or staggering levels of debt. Probably both.

And if politicians add more spending (as Biden has already done), then those long-run trend lines will get even worse.

My concern is that some national conservatives are unwilling to confront this problem and/or they support policies to make matters worse.

But first, in the interest of fairness, bigger government is not an inherent part of the national conservatism platform. At least based on the statement of principles published by The American Conservative.

That document, signed by the key advocates of national conservatism, lists 10 concepts, most of which are good from a libertarian perspective and only one of which is overtly troubling.

1. National independence (I cheer for anyone opposed to global governance)
2. Rejection of imperialism and globalism (they’re opposed to the bad form of globalism)
3. National government (very akin to “state capacity libertarianism“)
4. God and public religion (not a role for government, but they’re not pushing bad ideas)
5. The rule of law (good idea)
6. Free enterprise (they have a few unnecessary caveats)
7. Public research (I’m skeptical of this one)
8. Family and children (not a role for government, but they’re not pushing bad ideas)
9. Immigration (I’m more sympathetic than they are, but agree on the importance of assimilation)
10. Race (they want neutrality rather than preferences)

Unfortunately, some national conservatives go beyond this statement of principles and push for bigger government.

• Such as industrial policy.
• Such as per-child handouts.

But don’t believe me. Bill McGurn of the Wall Street Journal makes similar points.

Mr. Cass’s movement insists (rightly) that purely economic and material measures are limited. But whenever they move beyond rhetoric to specifics, their preferred solutions almost always turn out to be economic interventions, from child tax credits to industrial policy. …Even a cursory glance at the record of the past half-century shows government often doing the most harm to people precisely when it is trying to help them. Federal efforts to promote homeownership ended up encouraging banks to lend people more than they could afford and feeding a housing bubble. Federal college loans helped drive up tuition while leaving Americans $1.6 trillion in debt. As we ought to have learned from the Great Society, well-intentioned government policies can do immense damage to families and communities. Unfortunately, when it comes to getting the toothpaste back in the tube, government has shown much less success.

The bottom line is that national conservatives always seem to advocate bigger government when they develop or endorse specific policies.

And, to the best of my knowledge, none of them have put forth any agenda to deal with the spending problem that already exists.

That’s an agenda that guarantees future tax increases. And, for what it’s worth, one of the advocates already has embraced a tax-the-rich agenda to help finance the national conservative agenda.

If Republicans go down that path, it won’t end well (just as it didn’t end well when they embraced other fads such as compassionate conservatism, kinder-and-gentler conservatism, common-good capitalism, reform conservatism, etc).

As I’ve previously noted, there no alternative to Reaganism.

Christian Preacher Paid £10K by London Police After Wrongful Arrests for Reporting Islamist Threats

Spanish Chief Inspector Relieved of Duty for Saying Nearly All Street Crime Involves Illegals - Chris Tomlinson 22 Oct 2022 - A chief inspector in Valencia, Spain has been relieved of duty after saying that nearly all of the street crime in his community involved illegal immigrants.  The Chief Inspector of the Central Police Station in Valencia, Ricardo Ferris, made his statements about migrants and criminality at an event organised by the DENAES Foundation and the parliamentary group of the populist party VOX.  According to Ferris, “practically all street crime is illegal immigrants” in his area. “In the boats, everyone confesses to being criminals and ex-prisoners,” he added.  He also said that “illegal immigration equals crime” and that for the last five years police largely no longer deal with Spanish nationals as criminals.  The comments have led to the General Directorate of the National Police taking disciplinary action and relieving him of his position, El Mundo reports.........

Bangladeshi Migrant Arrested For Raping and Italian Policewoman in Naples - A Bangladeshi migrant reportedly raped an Italian policewoman who had just left work for the evening after being attacked from behind.  The attack took place just outside of the Decumani police station in Naples and began with the policewoman being struck in the back of the head with a rock as she was going to her car in a nearby parking lot following her shift.  After being attacked with the rock, the woman was subsequently raped. After the rapist walked away, the woman, still in shock, called for help. An ambulance soon arrived on the scene and took the officer to a local hospital, where she was treated for injuries and kept under observation due to the head injury, Il Giornale reports.............

Immoral Democrats Make Excuses, Blame Others, and Divide

With the approval ratings of Congress and President Biden dropping to historic lows and the number of Americans reporting that the country is heading in the wrong direction spiking to record highs, now would be an ideal time for elected officials in Washington, D.C. to assess honestly their job performances.  Are they causing Americans more harm than good?  Have they prioritized or abandoned their constituents' top concerns?  Has their obsession with the events of January 6, 2021 done anything to alleviate today's skyrocketing inflation making food and fuel unaffordable?  Has pushing the contentious issue of "transgenderism" in classrooms, businesses, and women's sports helped unite or divide the American people?  Has runaway illegal immigration at the Southern border made Americans more or less safe?  These are all good questions for any "public servant" seeking honest self-reflection.

Alas, "honesty" and "capacity for self-reflection" are not qualities usually attributed to politicians.  Consistently high numbers of Americans believe that elected officials put their own interests ahead of the country's, and a record number of Americans believe that the United States has "poor moral values."  The idea of a "moral politician" in D.C. would strike most Americans as laughable...................To Read More...

The Google Cult’s Sex Abuse and Mandatory Abortions

When Texas intervened to protect vulnerable children against transgender child mutilation, Google was one of the companies to sign a letter warning that preventing child abuse was "against the values of our companies."

A recent lawsuit provides a small insight into just what the Big Tech giant’s “values” might be.

Recently a former Google employer filed a lawsuit accusing the company of discrimination.

“I was fired from my team there in February of 2021 because I raised alarm about a cult within Google, a group called the Fellowship of Friends. The group is well-documented: There are allegations of child abuse, human trafficking, forced abortions, and rape within the group,” Kevin Lloyd, a former video producer, blogged.

“The cult’s members dominate my former team at Google through favoritism and cronyism, not to mention direct payments back to the cult.”

When Lloyd complained, he was told to keep quiet or lose his job, and then he was finally fired.

Like so many California establishment figures, from Nancy Pelosi to Governor Newsom, the Fellowship of Friends has its own winery. But it also has a deeply troubling history that includes allegations of sex trafficking and forced abortions.

From Jim Jones to Scientology, cults have been a cultural feature of leftist life in California.

Former Gov. Jerry Brown, along with Harvey Milk, also accused of preying on underage minors, former Vice President Walter Mondale, Senator Dianne Feinstein, and former Mayor Willie Brown, who gave Kamala Harris her start in politics, were all fans of Jim Jones.

The murderous Marxist cult was able to operate for so long because it was protected by the highest echelons of California Democrats.

Rep. Karen Bass, now running for mayor, was disqualified as Biden's presidential pick over her support for Scientology and for lying about it.

The Fellowship of Friends is a good deal more obscure, but it fits neatly into the mold of California cults that promise enlightenment through the teachings of a guru. What it actually offers, according to former members, is something much more troubling.

A journalist covering the cult described being told about "sex rituals" in which its leader, Robert Earl Burton, would allegedly "attempt to have sex with 100 followers in a day."

A San Francisco Chronicle story discussed allegations of "Eastern European ex-members who said they received religious visas to come out to California, only to learn when they arrived that sex with Burton was an unwritten part of the deal."

Burton’s preference was for young men whom he included in his “male harem”.

In a seeming foreshadowing of the transgender movement, the cult leader reportedly believed that he was a “goddess in a man’s body” and allegedly “made it almost necessary for all men & young men to perform sexual favors for him.”

One lawsuit filed by a man who was 17 years old when he joined the leftist cult mentioned the cult leader boasting that "one hundred boys would not be enough."

Another former cult member describes being pressured to join the cult leader's "male harem" and then ordered to abort the baby he had conceived with his high school sweetheart.

Still another described hearing that Burton, the cult leader, had "asked married women not to have kids and if they already did to give them away", while a cult figure was "persuading pregnant women to have an abortion 'to follow the will of the Teacher"'.

A former member described her husband being told "that we had missed an opportunity to oppose our Catholic upbringing by not having an abortion."

Google is denying any connection to the cult and its abuses, but Lloyd describes a troubling atmosphere in the company.

When he brought up the issue with his manager, he was told, “Let’s go off campus.”

Google, like Facebook and other Big Tech companies, is notorious for the cult-like surveillance of employees on its compounds or campuses. Some workers have reported that their personal phones were wiped when they fell afoul of the Big Tech giant. Others worry that the monopoly, which is behind the Android mobile operating system, can spy on them through their devices.

Lloyd's manager told him that he was "horrified" by the cult's foothold in Google, but that "complaining could lead not only to the loss of his job" and that the department's cult figure was a "powerful guy".

The former Google employee "heard of new members regularly being added" and "saw how existing members excelled, further boosting the status of the Fellowship of Friends within our department. Conversely, it seemed the Fellowship members who were on the outs with the group were made to leave."

Google had become a cult.

“Why are you telling me this?” HR people told Lloyd. “Don’t tell me this.”

"Google knows about this problem," Lloyd concluded. "Managers know full well that a destructive cult, a group credibly alleged to be involved in the sexual abuse of possibly hundreds of followers, including children, has significant influence over an important team within the company. Yet they turn a blind eye."

Google covertly removed its old motto, "Don't be evil", from its corporate code of conduct. If the allegations are true, its corporate conduct shows why that’s no longer on the books.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Burton formed his cult "while living in a Volkswagen bus in Berkeley" by "convincing a circle of followers that he possessed the powers of a superior being."

Followers were told that only Burton and those who served him are actually "immortal conscious beings" while the rest of us are the "walking dead" who needed to cut ties with their families.

It's not hard to see why this mindset would take root inside Silicon Valley Big Tech companies where technocratic arrogance and megalomaniacal delusions of grandeur have convinced some that they represent a cultural master race destined to dominate the economy and the planet.

Much like Burton, Big Tech companies seek out young men, thoroughly exploit them, taking over their waking lives, and then drop them when they get too old. During this heady period, Googlers are immersed in cult-like attitudes, frantic shows of cultural virtue signaling, and outbursts of hate against outsiders, especially Republicans and conservatives.

At the Fellowship of Friends, cult members were banned from saying, "I", instead being forced to say, "It wants a cup of coffee."

This dehumanization is what Big Tech companies are inflicting on America and on the world.

In its letter denouncing Texas for protecting children from abuse by men who, like Burton, believe that there is a “goddess” in their bodies, Google claimed that Texas violated its “values”.

These are Google’s values.
