How the Kennedy Family Caused Today’s Immigration Crisis

And brought Obama's father to America.

When LBJ signed the 1965 Immigration and Nationality Act into law, JFK had been dead for two years, but it, more than the Cuban missile crisis or the race to the moon, was his real legacy which still impacts us today when there are no more Americans on the moon or nukes in Cuba.

At the signing, LBJ paid tribute to “the vision of the late beloved President John Fitzgerald Kennedy”. Little did the 36th president know that the 44th president, born to a radical Kenyan student, was already growing up in this country due to JFK’s personal intervention during his 1960 presidential campaign.

“This bill that we will sign today is not a revolutionary bill,” President Johnson argued. “It does not affect the lives of millions. It will not reshape the structure of our daily lives… Yet it is still one of the most important acts of this Congress and of this administration.” Only the last was true.

It affected not only millions, but tens of millions, and it reshaped our lives and our country.

At the signing ceremony, LBJ was flanked by the newly minted Senator Ted Kennedy and a grinning RFK to cement the bill which ended national quotas for immigrants as the Kennedy legacy. The bill would be described as Senator Ted Kennedy’s “first legislative victory” which “helped change the face of the country” and “fashioned the modern day immigration system.”

“The bill will not flood our cities with immigrants. It will not upset the ethnic mix of our society. It will not relax the standards of admission. It will not cause American workers to lose their jobs,” Senator Ted Kennedy had promised in the Senate. All of these promises proved to be false.

The 1965 bill was a sequel to a battle that Rep. John F. Kennedy had narrowly lost to Senator Richard Nixon over the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952. President Truman had vetoed the 1952 bill because it imposed national restrictions on immigration, favoring Western European immigrants and drastically limiting immigration from the rest of the world.

Kennedy had upheld Truman’s veto in the House but Nixon cast a tie-breaking vote and the 1952 bill became law.

While Nixon won the battle, Kennedy won the war. In 1958, Kennedy published “A Nation of Immigrants” which argued that restricting immigration by national origin “violated the spirit expressed in the Declaration of Independence that ‘all men are created equal’”.He was preparing to relaunch it in 1963 for his big immigration push before his assassination.

During the 1960 presidential campaign, the Kennedy team focused its outreach on immigrant groups restricted by the bill. The 1952 bill, also known as the McCarran–Walter Act had been partly the work of Senator Pat McCarran: a powerful Senate Democrat who had wanted to keep out Poles, Ukranians and other Eastern Europeans, Jews, Greeks and everyone he did not like.

The Kennedy campaign turned to Eastern Europeans, who were prominent in Illinois, and Chinese-Americans, prominent in California, as part of its strategy to win the White House. And the strategy paid off with a narrow victory in Illinois that clinched the presidency. (Nixon narrowly won his native California, but by a far smaller margin than Eisenhower’s triumphant romp.)

That made the 1960 election into the first true multicultural presidential campaign that changed the face of American politics. And by 1968, Nixon would be cutting his own “black power” ads.

One of the more significant moments in the 1960 campaign took place at the Hyannis Inn Motel, just down the road from what is now the JFK Museum, when Kennedy met with a number of Ukrainian and Eastern European Democratic Party activists organized by Michigan Gov. Gerhard “Soapy” Williams, who headed the Democratic National Committee’s ‘Nationalities’ division to organize the support of different national groups (the term commonly used then to refer to immigrants from outside Western Europe) to rally support for the Democrats.

(As President Kennedy’s Secretary for African Affairs, ‘Soapy’ would play a key role in pulling away U.S. support from Rhodesia and South Africa while championing “Africa for Africans”.)

At the Hyannis Inn, Kennedy promised an end to national quotas and, almost as importantly, for “due process, right of appeal, and statutes of limitation” to “be extended to noncitizens” which would eventually turn immigration into the endless process of litigation that it now is.

Senator Ted Kennedy would describe immigration as a “very central part of President Kennedy’s administration.” “President Kennedy elected in 1960, one of the first pieces he introduced in the Congress of the United States was reform of our immigration laws. I remember being on the Judiciary Committee after being elected in 1962, and my brother Bob coming up and testifying for the Immigration Reform Program,” he later recalled.

Once in the White House, President John F. Kennedy could not immediately deliver on these promises, it would fall to LBJ’s dealmaking savvy and brute force politicking to do what the former pretty boy senator couldn’t and actually open up the immigration system to the world.

But what JFK could do was play on national opposition to Communism to open up the doors to refugees, which he did, ushering in the 1962 Migration and Refugee Assistance Act, initially meant to provide refuge to Cubans and Eastern Europeans fleeing Communism to come here, but which would become a key element in a virtually endless system of asylum migration.

Much as he had with the 1965 Immigration and Nationality Act, LBJ would once again do what JFK could not, by signing on to the UN Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees in 1968. This treaty is what forces us to process an asylum request by any migrant who walks up to the Mexican border. LBJ had promised the Senate that it would “not impinge adversely upon established practices under existing laws in the United States” and that “State laws are not superseded by the Convention or Protocol.” Those claims would also prove untrue.

States and cities have been swamped by masses of migrants crossing the border by making asylum claims and they are barred by the federal government from keeping them out.

A decade later, Senator Ted Kennedy would be hard at work codifying the UN treaty into immigration law with what would eventually become the Refugee Act of 1980. What had started out as an anti-Communist measure instead became a means of admitting Communists, Marxists, Islamists and an endless flood of migrants who could be persuaded to support them.

Refugee admissions led directly to the current border crisis, but there was another shadow immigration policy that may have been equally devastating, if not more so, which was also initially justified as a means of fighting Communism, but became a means of importing it.

The 1952 Immigration and Nationality Act, for all that it was denounced as racist and exclusionary, had actually increased immigration from Asia and had begun putting into place the student visa system that political elites wanted which would dramatically transform America.

While JFK had signed the Mutual Educational and Cultural Exchange Act into law to increase the number of foreign students in 1961, Barack Obama Sr and Shyamala Gopalan, the mother of Kamala Harris, had both moved to America in 1959: using the student visas that the McCarran–Walter Act had brought into being to subsidize American universities with a flood of foreign students.

When Donald J. Harris, Kamala’s father, arrived in 1963, it was likely as part of the growing number of foreign students benefiting from the Mutual Educational and Cultural Exchange Act.

But when Sayyid Qutb, the Muslim Brotherhood leader and godfather of Islamic terrorism, fled Egypt to study in Colorado in 1949, and came away loathing everything about America and calling for war against it, he was able to do it because of the lobbying by the Institute of International Education (IIE) headed by key university and foreign policy leaders which used their elite access to vastly increase the number of foreign students coming to America.

The IIE’s promotion of foreign students led not only to visits by Qutb and Obama Sr, but by a generation of radical Marxists and Islamists who soon set up operations in this country.

The only way to understand what happened to America beginning on September 11 is to study the wave of Third World radicals who came to study at American universities and stayed, or, like Barack Obama Sr and Donald J Harris left their children behind here, or, like Qutb, learned enough to figure out how to best wage war against the United States of America.

To understand why we have pro-Hamas riots in the streets of New York City, part of the answer begins with the arrival of Archibald Wickeramaraja Singham, a Sri Lankan Marxist to study in America. He became a powerful academic and his Maoist son, Neville Roy Singham, made a fortune, moved to Shanghai and directs anti-war groups from China. His story is far from unique.

Edward Said, the academic godfather of terrorism, was sent to study at an elite boarding-school in Massachusetts before moving through Princeton and Harvard. While the IIE and the open door to foreign students was supposed to ‘Americanize’ Third World elites, those elites actually ended up radicalizing and even ‘Islamizing’ America. They have already produced one two-term president and one vice-president who could end up becoming a president in her own right.

The IIE was primarily concerned with subsidizing Ivy League universities. And the foreign students they tended to attract were radical members of the elites in their own countries.

The Mutual Educational and Cultural Exchange Act was also known as the Fulbright–Hays Act of 1961 after Senator J. William Fulbright. Fulbright had pulled off nearly as great a coup under Truman with an act amending a bill dealing with surplus property left in Europe that allowed the State Department to use the sale of “surplus war properties” to fund foreign students to come to America also partly subsidized by the Rockefeller Foundation and the Carnegie Corporation.

Senator Fulbright was to foreign students what Senator Ted Kennedy was to immigration. And the IIE took the lead in making sure that colleges took full advantage of the Fulbright system.

JFK championed the Fulbright scholarships and the foreign students changing America.

“Do you know that we brought more foreign students to the United States ten years ago than we do today?” Senator John K. Kennedy had complained on the campaign trail at NYU in 1960.

Foreign students had been excluded from immigration quotas, but many did become immigrants, joining universities and firms as a new kind of intellectual cheap labor force. These men and women, engineers, doctors, bureaucrats, and academics, became the backbone of the Third World Marxist and Muslim Brotherhood presence that transformed America.

The elites who had been restrictionist eugenicists at the turn of the century were now eager to open up to the world. The Cold War as it played out in world capitals was less a matter of nuclear buildup and defense drills (which the elites dismissed as nonsense) but of a global influence operation playing out across cultural, political and academic battlefields.,

That led to everything from the CIA backing the colorful spatters of Jackson Pollock to “It’s a Wonderful Life” director Frank Capra being dispatched to India to report on Communist infiltration into Bollywood. Bringing foreign students to America was described as the ultimate influence operation. Moscow had the paltry Patrice Lumumba University while America had Harvard, Yale and Columbia, but the trouble with using the Ivy League to fight Communism was that universities were already leftist and the new students and future faculty even more so.

America’s elites did not change the world, instead the world changed them.

JFK may have been one of the best examples. During the 1960 presidential campaign, Kennedy held a press conference together with Kenyan nationalist leader Tom Mboya. The topic was Mboya’s efforts to bring members of his tribe to study in America. Hoping to appeal to black voters by embracing African nationalism, JFK tried to use his brother’s foundation to foot the bill.

Additional funding was provided by the Rockefeller Foundation.

A furious bidding war soon broke out between Nixon, inside the administration, and Kennedy over the opportunity to win over black voters by funding the airlift of Kenyan students. It was an image battle that JFK easily won with his press conference together with Mboya.

JFK’s political genius rebranded immigration, often viewed as a means of Communist infiltration, into the ultimate anti-Communist measure, turning a political weakness into a strength, and accusing the Republican administration, as it had once accused the Truman administration, of losing the world in the struggle against Communism. America could only defeat Communism, he argued, by being open to the world, taking in immigrants and students, forming the Peace Corps to go out to the world, and, as he had in Europe as a student, to learn about the world.

But what JFK really believed was that through exposure to the world, America would change, as he had been changed by his time in the United Kingdom and traveling across Europe. It was a message highly appealing to the elites who believed America was inferior to the world. Bringing Kenyan students to America was not so much about changing them, but about changing us.

JFK hoped to unify a new rising liberal coalition, fusing elites, urban and suburban Catholics and Jews, bringing in new voting blocks of black and Asian voters, and reinventing the Democratic Party and America for a new generation. He found inspiration in younger African leaders like Mboya more than anything that was happening in America and viewed them as the future.

One particular Kenyan student from Mboya’s circle would indeed become America’s future.

Mboya’s African American Students Foundation (AASF) would bring hundreds of students from Kenya to America. Among the Kenyan students receiving AASF grants was Barack Obama Sr.

“The Kennedys decided, we’re going to do an airlift. We’re going to go out to Africa. And we’re going to start bringing young Africans over to this country and bring them scholarships to study so that they can learn what a wonderful country America is. And this young man named Barack Obama got one of those tickets and came over to this country,” Barack Obama Jr. said in his speech at Selma. Like many of Obama’s stories, it wasn’t really true, but there was some truth to it.

Barack Obama Sr. had not qualified for the original Kennedy airlift, but as a personal friend of Mboya and a fellow member of his Luo tribe, the AASF paid his expenses in Hawaii anyway.

The Kennedy administration had pitched its immigration reform plans as a way of overcoming American tribalism, but instead opened the door to the tribalism of the Third World.

“Our beautiful America was built by a nation of strangers,” LBJ had declared at the signing of the 1965 immigration bill that ended the quotas and opened up immigration to the world.

America since has become more of a nation of strangers than ever, at odds with one another, angry, conspiratorial, resentful and lacking a common language of values or interests.

And there is little that is beautiful about the broken America that they have built.

Nancy Pelosi: Morality, Free Will and Corruption of Thought

On Sunday April 2, 2023 Whitson G. Waldo, III published this piece, Nancy Pelosi's Theology and Her Politics saying:

Nancy Pelosi has been locking horns with San Francisco's Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone.The good archbishop forbade that Holy Communion be administered to Nancy Pelosi within his diocese wherein is her residence.He requires that the sacrament of penance be observed for the "serious sins" of supporting abortion and homosexual behavior, including same-sex "marriage." 

The author goes on to point out the errors of her thinking, but I've often wondered at her proclamations regarding her "devotion" to the Catholic church, and her clear disregard for the teachings of the church. I think this statement by Pelosi is enlightening. 

"We have a free will. God has given us a free will, and we have a moral responsibility to live up to that free will and what it gives us." 

The exercise of free will doesn't preclude condemnation for those free will choices.  Free will is an exercise in judgement.  Some have chosen to murder people.  Some have chosen to rob people.  Some have chosen to rape people.  Should these choices in "free will" be condemned?  Yes, they should, and punished.

That illogical "free will" argument is nothing more than a rationalizational salve she uses to sooth over the open sore of her apostasy, which of course means the church is wrong, the Bible is wrong, and God is wrong.  Which then means she's right, and she not only has the right, but the duty, to ignore the church, ignore the morality it teaches, and ignore the morality taught in the Bible, ignore God, and since now she's the ultimate moral authority it's her duty to promote the latest narrative of the moment, to promote her power mongering. 

Benjamin Franklin in his autobiography stated when he was a young man he was a vegetarian, and for two reasons.  Economics and ideology, but mostly for economic reasons.  In those days it was safer and easier to travel from place like New York to Boston by ship versus overland as there weren't good roads.  

Franklin said before he became a vegetarian he had a particular fondness for fish, and during one of these trips the sailors caught a huge fish, and when they cut it open a lot of smaller fish poured out of it's stomach, so he rationalized justifying eating the meal that would be prepared from that fish in this way.  

"Since you ate them, I'm gong to eat you"  

Franklin went on to say the nice thing about being a rational creature was the ability to rationalize.  

Ted Kennedy was as contemptible as Pelosi and yet he was buried in the Church.  This piece in Catholic Culture, maintains:

A strong argument can be made for the proposition that Senator Kennedy should not have been allowed a Catholic funeral-- not because of his personal failings, but because his public stands put him in conflict with the Church. Unlike private sins, which can be absolved in sacramental Confession, serious public sins require some form of public amendment, to address the scandal that they create. Ted Kennedy never recanted his support for abortion, and so he remained in open conflict with his Church. To allow a public funeral for him meant allowing for the perception that the Church is not really serious about the abortion issue, and thus creating a new public scandal. 

The word repentance means "to turn about' and carries with it an implied responsibility to make a repair for what ill was done.  His "repentance" would have required a public position saying he was wrong in his supported the murder of innocents, and pleaded for forgiveness.  While in his final days he was regularly visited by priests, yet there is absolutely no indication he did any of those things, and that's why the article was entitled, The Kennedy Funeral: Boston's Latest Scandal.

At the end of our lives we review our lives as old friends, old enemies, old times and old memories keep pouring into our thoughts, and we go through all the woulda, coulda, should haves, and the regrets.  

Soon Pelosi will be confronted with two things.  As an out of power retired politico she may be trotted out for a sound bite occasionally, but in reality, no one will really care what she thinks, and she'll be alone with her conscience, and her rationalizations.  And secondly, she will be confronted with her mortality, one that is soon to be realized.  Will she be scandalously buried in the church as was Ted Kennedy? 

At the end, does it really matter?   Is there any believer that isn't convinced she will still have to answer for her heresy, and all that spilled innocent blood crying out for justice?  Innocent blood which she and her supporters are responsible for!  Nancy Pelosi's stand on abortion is considered a "mortal sin" by the Catholic Church, and rightly so.  Do all the Catholics who voted for Nancy Pelosi, knowing full well her stand on abortion, share in her guilt? 

One also has to wonder about a Pope who welcomed Pelosi to the Vatican 2 weeks after passing the most radical abortion bill in history, and given his actions over the years appears to be even more confused than Pelosi.  In light of all that you have to applaud San Francisco's Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone stand for refusing Pelosi the sacrament of communion.   

Draft Father of Anti-America

If George Washington is the Father of our country, then Ted Kennedy is the father of anti-America......... a deep-seated disdain for the America most of us love........... hates our history, our culture, and our success. Hatred, victimhood, and bitterness are the elements binding anti-America together.............The first scandal came when he was a Harvard freshman. When he was failing a Spanish class, he recruited a friend to take a Spanish exam for him. He and the stand-in were caught and expelled from Harvard.

Like many politicians, Ted Kennedy had a reputation for womanizing.......... presumably drunk, drove off a bridge in Chappaquiddick, Massachusetts. Mary Jo Kopechne, who was in the car with him, drowned .............. Before Chappaquiddick, Ted was a leading Democrat contender for the party’s Presidential nomination in 1972. Even though Kennedy kept his Senate seat after Chappaquiddick, the Democrats looked elsewhere for a candidate in 1972, ending his first chance to become President...........Kennedy fundamentally disliked America. 

He was anti-American. ...........Kennedy’s involvement in “immigration reform” shows him to be the Father of anti-America............While Ronald Reagan was President, Kennedy reached out to Yuri Andropov, president of our Cold War enemy, Russia, for help discrediting President Reagan..................If you look at the modern Democratic Party and see hatred, bitterness, and victimhood, credit the Father of it all: Ted Kennedy...............To Read More.... 

My Take - While I agree Ted Kennedy was just as anti-American as he says, he's giving this loser far too much credit by calling him the Father of Anti-Americanism.   Anti-Americanism has existed since before the beginning of the 20th century and grew in the darkness without Kennedy, reflecting all the hatred, envy, anger, greed and violent behavior that is imbued in the left.  All that Kennedy and his crowd represented then and now.  The difference?  They're no longer hiding in the dark.

Thirty years after Robert Bork was denied a seat on the Supreme Court, his formidable legacy lives on.

 As a stoical Robert Bork sat before the Senate Judiciary Committee on the morning of September 15, 1987, surrounded by reporters, klieg lights, and television cameras, the 60-year-old jurist could look back on an accomplished career. 

For five and a half years, he had served on the D.C. Circuit, considered the nation’s most prestigious court other than the U.S. Supreme Court. Bork had also been a marine, a successful antitrust litigator, a law professor, solicitor general, and acting attorney general of the United States. 

But as he faced committee chairman Joe Biden and his hostile Democratic colleagues, including Ted Kennedy, Howard Metzenbaum, Robert Byrd, Patrick Leahy, and Paul Simon, the cerebral Bork was ill-suited—and disinclined—to duplicate the dramatic performance given in the same hearing room a few months earlier, when the telegenic Lt. Col. Oliver North parried with a joint congressional committee investigating the Iran-Contra affair. 

Against the urging of his handlers, and with his nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court by President Ronald Reagan hanging in the balance, Bork made no attempt to emulate North, believing that such rhetorical flair was undignified for a judge.

Instead, during an unprecedented five days of grilling, Bork chose to answer the committee’s questions “matter-of-factly” and to explain his view of judging “fully.” The media coverage, featuring the judge’s lengthy, dispassionate responses, failed to rally the American public in his favor, unlike North’s gripping testimony. Ultimately, despite Bork’s stellar credentials, the Senate voted him down, largely on party grounds—an outcome that coined the now-ubiquitous term “borking.”..........To Read More.....

My Take - Why conservative nominees can’t be polite, can’t be respectful, and can’t expect anything but corruption and vile behavior from Democrats.  Bork showed civilized behavior just doesn’t work against morally debased savages.

I'm old enough to remember the Bork hearings and the outrageous things said by these leftist misfits.  Kennedy's evaluation of this extremely accomplished man?  He actually said - and get this - Bork was too extreme for the Supreme Court.  

Not a one of those sewer trout ever accomplished a fraction of what Bork did in his life.  Especially Kennedy, who had already murdered Mary Jo Kopechne 18 years before, but in the eyes of Kennedy and the rest of those misfits in Congress, Kennedy being a drunk and a murderer wasn't too extreme to serve in the Senate, or to sit in judgement of a man whose shoes he wasn't fit to shine.

 

An Al Qaeda Emir Came to America and Applied for Disability

 After engaging in terrorism in Iraq, an Al Qaeda leader came to America as a refugee and applied for Social Security disability benefits because his “injuries” in Iraq had made it too hard for him to work.

In 2006, Ali Yousif Ahmed Al-Nouri was the Emir of an Al Qaeda terrorist group in Fallujah. The Iraqi city was the scene of brutal battles between Al Qaeda and America. It was where American soldiers had suffered the most casualties in any battle since the Vietnam War. Despite multiple defeats, Al Qaeda remained deeply entrenched in the city and was even able to seize a number of neighborhoods in 2014.

By then, Al-Nouri was living in Arizona.

Only 2 years after being the Emir of an Al Qaeda group, Al-Nouri had traded the deserts of Al-Anbar for the deserts of the Southwest. How was an Al Qaeda leader able to move to the United States?

Easy. He claimed to be a refugee from Al Qaeda.

In 2008, the United States raised the refugee admission ceiling to 80,000 to accommodate the surge of Iraqis applying to come to the United States. The Iraqis claimed to be fleeing terrorism, but some, like Al-Nouri were terrorists, and our refugee resettlement program was not interested in telling them apart.

A quarter of refugees that year were Iraqis. The Al Qaeda leader was one of 13,823 Iraqi refugees. The huge increase from 1,608 in 2007, made any real screening of the Iraqis all but impossible. And, worse still, Iraqis, like Al-Nouri, were in the top 3 refugee groups and their claims were processed 'in-country'.

"In-country processing", as noted by the Center of American Progress, makes "the process less onerous and cumbersome for Iraqis seeking asylum by allowing for in-country visa processing, making screening less restrictive." And what migrants from Al-Qaeda’s stronghold needed was less restrictive screenings.

The less restrictive screenings were one of Senator Ted Kennedy’s final immigration gifts to America. The Refugee Crisis in Iraq Act was introduced by Ted Kennedy, backed by Grover Norquist, and co-sponsored by Joe Biden, Pat Leahy, Chuck Hagel, Dick Durbin, Bob Menendez and Barack Obama.

The disastrous legislation cosponsored by Obama and Biden no doubt helped ease Al-Nouri’s path.

"The United States has a clear responsibility to support these brave Iraqis who have stood by us," Senator Ted Kennedy had insisted.

And Al-Nouri, like many other fake refugees, pretended to be one of those imaginary Iraqis. He did such a good job of pretending that under Obama, the Al Qaeda leader became a military contractor.

The Emir’s job was training American soldiers preparing to deploy to fight Al Qaeda in Iraq (the group that would eventually be known as ISIS) about Iraqi culture.

After arriving in the United States as a refugee, the Al Qaeda leader applied for Social Security disability. Refugees applying for Social Security disability payments is a popular scam that hurts Americans.

But Al-Nouri claimed to have been shot by Al Qaeda terrorists and that he had 20 bullets in his body.

The 20 bullets might have been real, but they likely came from either the Iraqi or United States forces that Al-Nouri might have fought. The Emir had not only contrived to come to America as a refugee, but to make taxpayers foot the bill for his bullet wounds that he had picked up while fighting for Al Qaeda.

Despite the Al Qaeda leader’s supposed disability, he was able to work as a military contractor in California and to open a driving school, the A-Plus Driving School, in Phoenix.

1,050 Iraqi refugees were resettled in Arizona in 2008. Iraqis were the number one refugee group resettled everywhere from Alabama to Virginia. But Arizona had the highest share of Iraqis in any state outside Michigan's Islamic enclaves. Al-Nouri became one of 12,329 Iraqi refugees operating in Arizona.

When Al-Nouri came to this country, Arizona was accepting the most refugees per capita of any state. Money for resettling refugees poured into the state which was happy to take in Muslims from Yugoslavia, then Sudan, and Iraq. The Iraqi community in Phoenix boomed. Along with Al-Nouri.

And the problems have been growing.

Last month, the 9th Circuit Court ruled that Mohammed Mostafa Altayar, an Iraqi refugee, could be deported after he had threatened another man with a gun and assaulted him in 2014. But that sort of thing hasn’t stopped Arizona politicians, including Republicans, from demanding more refugees.

After the last September 11 anniversary, numerous Arizona representatives, including Republicans signed on to a Welcome Refugees 2020 letter, demanding that President Trump bring more refugees.

Meanwhile, in Phoenix, even as the Al Qaeda leader’s driving school was touting, “peace of mind”, the refugee belatedly attracted government attention after flying to Istanbul: a common ISIS travel route.

FBI agents questioned Al-Nouri and appeared to suspect that he might have traveled to Iraq.

Now, Al-Nouri was finally arrested for extradition to Iraq, where he is suspected of the murder of two Iraqi police officers as the leader of an Al Qaeda group operating in Fallujah. While having Iraq request his extradition may be a simpler process than trying to bring him to trial here, it’s far from easy.

Last year, the FBI busted Omar Ameen, an Iraqi refugee in Sacramento, for his role in Al Qaeda and ISIS. But efforts to send him back for trial to Iraq have been stymied by an aggressive media campaign with the New Yorker and CBS News, not to mention pseudo-conservative sites like Bill Kristol’s The Bulwark and The American Conservative, launching a campaign in the alleged ISIS terrorist’s defense.

There is every reason to think that Al-Nouri will benefit from the same defense.

Iraqis in Phoenix have already come to Al-Nouri’s defense, describing him as a popular figure in the community. They claim that they had no idea that he could have been an Al Qaeda terrorist.

That’s unlikely.

In a culture with massive extended families and tribes whose members do everything, whether it’s fighting Al Qaeda or joining Al Qaeda as a group, coming out of a major Iraqi city, Al-Nouri’s story would not have fooled everyone in his community. But Al-Nouri was far from the only terrorist to come to America as a refugee. We don’t know how many terrorists who pretended to be fighting Al Qaeda tricked the system to come to America. And we don’t know how many more are coming now.

The Pentagon, which had hired an Al Qaeda Emir to train troops deploying to Iraq, recently warned again that failing to bring Iraqi refugees to America will undermine our national security. Military brass complained that the FBI’s more intensive screenings were keeping too many Iraqi refugees out.

The number of Iraqis coming to America on special visas had dropped to a mere 3,000 in 2017.

The FBI found suspicious information on 87 out of 88 Iraqis who had been specially screened in 2018. Instead of praising the FBI for doing its job, the Pentagon complained that it was doing its job too well.

In a White House meeting, an unnamed senior Pentagon official proposed exempting Iraqis from President Trump’s lowered refugee cap.

The battle over Iraqi refugees pitted White House advisor Stephen Miller against the Pentagon. The outcome is 4,000 refugee slots for Iraqis, some legitimate refugees and some Islamic terrorists.

Most governors, Democrats and Republicans, have indicated that they will keep admitting refugees.

On a quiet desert lot, in Surprise, AZ, the horrible surprise of an Al Qaeda Emir living next door in a quarter-of-a-million house should come as no surprise. It’s just refugee resettlement at work.

The Unforgiven: Joe Biden Is Haunted by Bork

It is hard not to feel some sympathy for Joe Biden, up to a point. He is said by almost everyone who knows him to be personally likeable. As a simple member of the public, I have never forgiven him for his treatment, as Senate Judiciary Committee chairman, of President Reagan’s nominee for the Supreme Court in 1987, Robert Bork. Mr. Biden implicitly endorsed Senator Edward Kennedy’s statement on the Senate floor that “Robert Bork’s America is a land where women are forced into back-alley abortions,” a land of segregation, lawless rogue police, government censorship of writers and artists, and inaccessibility of federal courts to meritorious litigants, where the teaching of evolution was banned............

My Take - I wish he'd left the Marshall comments out of this piece., and some of his other thoughts regarding crime and punishment. I've been following his work since he left prison, but as time goes by I'm wondering what his real values are.

As for Marshall, he may not have been in agreement with giving Europe to the Soviets or China to the Communists, but both Presidents he served clearly did that, and he never protested once and the Generals under his control, with the exception of Patton, went along with it, especially in China.  He did protest Truman's recognition of Israel, being the antisemite he was, with Jewish blood on his hands for some of his actions.  The fact is, Marshall was part of the problem regarding the communist takeover of much of the world. 

And let's get this right.  McCarthy may have been a loose cannon, with a lot of personal issues, but he was right. 

Communists thoroughly infested the federal government at every level during the FDR administration and the Truman administration.   Eisenhower and Truman had to have been aware of that because they would have known about the VENONA intercepts which clearly demonstrated how thoroughly the communist infiltration was of all of America's institutions.  And they both condemned McCarthy for his actions in exposing it. 

As far as the Bork hearings "haunting" Biden.  I don't think anything "haunts" Biden because his moral foundation is built on quicksand, as a result, his conscience is seared, and feels no pain.

As the film Chappaquiddick brings Ted Kennedy’s ugliest public scandal to the big screen, I here propose a sequel of equally high drama and even higher stakes, rising to the highest levels of national security. It was another Kennedy outrage, made more scandalous by the Massachusetts senator’s protectors in the press.   We might call this film adaptation something like, “Kennedy and the Kremlin,” or “Ted’s Russian Romance.” (Proposals?)

There are actually several facets to the Kennedy-Kremlin story. One was nicely summarized this week at The American Spectator by George Parry, who captured my original reporting. In the memo, Chebrikov then delineated for Andropov a series of specific steps proposed by Kennedy to help the Soviets “influence Americans.” This included Kennedy arranging for Kremlin officials to meet with certain American media. Which media? The memo went so far as to directly name Walter Cronkite and Barbara Walters. Kennedy offered to help bring Soviet political and military officials to New York and Washington to connect them with friends in the press. And further, the memo included an offer from Kennedy himself to personally fly to the Kremlin to meet with Andropov.

Ted Kennedy: Lion or Jackal?

On April 6, Chappaquiddick, a movie detailing the events involving Senator Ted Kennedy on Martha's Vineyard in July 1969, will be released. That incident demonstrated the depths to which the Kennedys were willing to go to salvage the political career of the last of the Kennedy sons. In subsequent years, the actions of Ted Kennedy that night were forgiven by the Democrats, as were subsequent actions as noted below. The movie is based on a book, Senatorial Privilege:

The Chappaquiddick Coverup, by Leo J. Damore, who committed suicide in 1995. Well, that is the official version, at least. The Kennedy family exerted pressure to block the making and release of the current movie. Similar pressure was reportedly put on Mr. Damore, which may have added to the issues that resulted in his death. In the history of politics in this nation, few families have equaled the Kennedys in both political power and despicability for their personal actions. I will look forward to seeing the movie. A telephone, not an automobile, exposed the worst parts of Ted Kennedy’s character at Chappaquiddick, a tragic episode explored on the silver screen in a new movie.  One of the film’s producers commented on the picture three years ago, “You’ll see what he had to go through.” But most accounts (I have yet to watch) depict the final product as a more balanced account that shows what Mary Jo Kopechne “had to go through,” too.

 

Kennedy’s coverup eclipsed the crime when it comes to assessing character. No amount of special effects or dramatic license can escape that truth.

 

Sure, throwing a party for six, older, married male guests and six, twentysomething, unmarried women marks one as a cad. And yes, driving after downing an ocean of rum and cokes, and doing so despite the lack of a license and the presence of a chauffer, indicts the senator’s judgment. But his actions, and lack thereof, after the midnightish crash represent the worst of the senator at his worst moment.............

 

My Take -   The Kenndy's seem to have had a ton of "worst moments" and in most of those moments others paid the price for their "worst" moments. 

The Kennedy's have been swine going back to the family patriarch, Joe.  The only Kennedy man that didn't get involved in scandalous affairs was young Joe and that most likely because he died in WWII, and as a hero.  As for the rest of them - even the young Kennedy's are disgraceful, including one who had a marriage of many years and a number of  children "annulled" by the church so he could marry another woman in the church.  A decision which took over ten years and a strong fight by his first wife to overturn by the Vatican. " A woman in the right who was accused of being a vindictive ex-wife, an alcoholic bigot, an idiot." There's no end to the lack of moral fiber among the Kennedy's or the leftist hypocrites who defend them.

Even the church is expected to ignore church law in order to make their despicable behavior acceptable, including having Ted, an ardent advocate of unrestricted abortion, buried in the church.   But, after all - they're Kennedy's, 

Juan Williams's comparison to Chappaquiddick could not have been dumber

It is telling that some still want to block a movie about how Kennedy left Mary Jo Kopechne to die inside the submerged car that he drove off the bridge in 1969. Kennedy is dead, so why hide the truth at this late stage?

My Take - Juan Williams is a disgrace and has always been one.  The only reason he has that seat on The Five is because that's the seat leftist disgraces occupy, just like to original leftist disgrace to appear on The Five - Bob Beckel.  If Williams couldn't spew out logical fallacies he wouldn't be able to talk.   At least Jesse Watters doesn't let him get away with as did Eric Bolling, who I often thought was out of his depth.

Ted Kennedy: The Chappaquiddick Cover-up - and More

This new docudrama about Ted Kennedy and the death of Mary Jo Kopechne is supposedly fairly telling - and in this case, that's a surprise as everyone on the left has done everything they can to cover up Ted Kennedy's crime.  Crime?  Absolutely!

Ted Kennedy drunkenly drove off a bridge and left Mary Jo Kopechne to drown in that car. This "Liberal Lion of the Senate" so beloved by all the left got away with murder, and this book, Senatorial Privilege, shows how local officials actually made it happen - because he was a Kennedy - and in that state they could do no wrong as he continued to be sent back to the Senate over and over again.  That says more about Massachusetts than it does Kennedy.

This was the guy they called Cadillac Eddie in college for being cited four times for reckless driving, with one of those citations for driving 90 miles an hour at night with no headlights.  In light of all of what's going on now I think this is a more than appropriate time to read what actually happened and how he got away with murder.  If this had happened in any other state than Massachusetts, he would have been sent to prison for years, and America would be been the benefactor.

Here's a brief  review of Senatorial Privilege: The Chappaquiddick Cover-Up, by Leo Damore by Clarence Petersen in July 09, 1989.

Senatorial Privilege: The Chappaquiddick Cover-Up, by Leo Damore (Dell, $4.95). Here is the most credible account yet of what happened during the long night between the death of Mary Jo Kopechne and Sen. Edward M. Kennedy`s reporting the accident to the police. As Joe Gargan, Kennedy`s cousin, close friend since childhood, and, in the end, embittered campaign aide, related the story to Damore, Kennedy lay on his back at the bridge, wondering how this tragedy could have happened to him, wondering if it could be said that he was not in the car, hinting that someone else could take the rap after Gargan risked his life trying to remove Kopechne`s body from the car. Finally, Kennedy dove into the water, after agreeing that he would ``take care of it, `` which Gargan took to mean that he finally had agreed to report the accident. Instead, Kennedy went off to establish an alibi. Only when Kennedy saw a tow truck heading for the bridge did he go to the police. Then his inner circle took over, manufacturing the cover-up, which ran to police investigators, the district attorney, the bench. Damore lays it all out; the facts are devastating.

However, I doubt this film does justice as to just how corrupt and contemptible Ted Kennedy actually was.  In a PowerLine article entitled, The Teddy Files: Even Worse Than You Thought! , the author states:

After repeated attempts, Judicial Watch has managed to pry loose certain documents relating to Teddy Kennedy from the FBI. The FBI's original redactions plainly had nothing to do with national security, so the agency apparently was trying to protect Kennedy's reputation.  

The most entertaining documents relate to a trip Kennedy took to Latin America in 1961. He visited a number of countries, accompanied by his "political counselor." In each country, Kennedy met with prominent Communists or other left-wing leaders. The U.S. Ambassador to Mexico was outraged that Kennedy wanted to bring such people to the embassy--this was the heart of the Cold War, after all--and he refused, telling Kennedy to arrange his own interviews somewhere else. A State Department official in Peru described Teddy as "pompous and a spoiled brat."  

In Colombia, the first person Kennedy wanted to meet with was Lauchlin Currie, a Russian spy who served as a key aide to Franklin Roosevelt, then moved to Colombia and renounced his American citizenship.   

By the time he got to Chile, Kennedy apparently was tired of political work, so he "made arrangements to 'rent' a brothel for an entire night" in Santiago. You can read the FBI reports here.  Click to enlarge:

During the hearings to seat Alito on the Supreme court the Democrats chose none other than Ted Kennedy to lead the charge to prove Alito was "a right-wing fanatic", and his "association with a conservative Princeton alumni group proved that he was some kind of wacko", which was the typical blowhard clabber from Kennedy. 

That's what he did during the Bork hearings, which I watched, where this drunken murderer who consorted with communists, "supported the Nuclear Weapons Freeze Campaign, a Soviet-sponsored initiative that would have frozen the USSR's military superiority in place", "Secretly contacted the head of the Soviet KGB in 1983, in an effort to undermine the Reagan presidency" (an absolute violation of the Logan Act) claimed Bork was too extreme to sit on the Supreme Court. 

Within a few minutes after the announcement of Bork's nomination Kennedy spewed out his lies and his hate from the Senate floor saying:

“Robert Bork’s America is a land in which women would be forced into back-alley abortions, blacks would sit at segregated lunch counters, rogue police could break down citizens’ doors in midnight raids, schoolchildren could not be taught about evolution, writers and artists could be censored at the whim of the Government, and the doors of the Federal courts would be shut on the fingers of millions of citizens for whom the judiciary is — and is often the only — protector of the individual rights that are the heart of our democracy… President Reagan is still our president. But he should not be able to reach out from the muck of Irangate, reach into the muck of Watergate and impose his reactionary vision of the Constitution on the Supreme Court and the next generation of Americans. No justice would be better than this injustice.”

A man with impeccable legal credentials who was one of the most respected jurists in the nation was called "extreme" by a comtemtable spoiled brat who was kicked out of Harvard for cheating. 

In this 2006 article,  The Alito Juggernaut, the author states:

The folks at the Federalist Patriot nailed it when, referring to Sen. Kennedy, they illustrated what Judge Alito is NOT: "It's not as if Judge Alito is a spoiled trust baby who got kicked out of Harvard for cheating. Nor is he a United States senator who got drunk, drove a young female campaign worker to her death, then chose not to report it to authorities until the next day, and then, only after calling his lawyer, concocting an alibi and developing a strategy to contain the political fallout."

Being married to a Kennedy was no prize, and that included his father Joe along with John and Bobby, all of whom were unbridled philanderers, and their wives knew it.  Kennedy met and married Virginia Joan Bennett in the late 50's but were divorced by the late 60's as a result of his drunkenness and infidelity, in what could only be construed as abuse.  He remarried in 1992, "a Washington attorney named Victoria Anne Reggie, who was 22 years his junior", but Kennedy was by no means without his comforts.  Just ask Senator Chris Dodd, another hypocritical blowhard.

Over the years Ted Kennedy was pretty much given a journalistic safe conduct pass for just about anything he did.  While the left eulogizes him as the Last Liberal Lion of the Senate his life in reality is a tale of corruption and moral failure in every aspect of his existence.  It's time this final chapter of the Camelot myth is brought to an end.  Hopefully this is the time, and this film will be the vehicle. 

As you read more of the hypocrisy of Ted Kennedy, you will observe that for all his common man rhetoric, he in some way was exempted or benefited financially from most of what he promoted and sponsored.

Ted Kennedy was an absolutely first-class degenerate with no redeeming qualities.  But the greatest disgrace was the fact this disgraceful supporter of abortion was buried in the Catholic Church.  I don't know what kind of deal was made there, but there's a judge that can't be influenced or bribed we all have to face.

A closer look at the searing evil of Ted Kennedy

Teddy's description of the Chappaquiddick "accident" was enough to convict him of involuntary and voluntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment. Today you can add homicide by vehicle while intoxicated, a mandatory three-year prison term in most states.

The facts are simple.

• Kennedy drove fast, probably drunk, off a bridge at about 11:30 P.M.
• The pond was only about six feet deep.
• The front end of the car was angled down.
• Kennedy walked away, went to his hotel, and waited until the next morning to report to the police. The car was discovered by two boys fishing in the morning.
• The boys, unlike Teddy, went to a nearby house to report the car in the water.
• Had Teddy done this instead of leaving, Mary Jo Kopechne probably would have been saved.
• Kennedy spent the night at his hotel room drying out so there would be no alcohol in his system, and to fabricate with his fixers the statement he gave the police.
• During the time Kennedy was at his hotel with his fixers, Mary Jo died from suffocation.

It was negligence to drive too fast and off the road while drunk, which is involuntary manslaughter. But it was far more criminal to leave her in the car for eight or more hours, without calling for help, which may get into voluntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment. Kennedy had to explain why he waited almost eight hours to report to the police and had to explain why he left Mary Jo in the car.

The substance of the statement concocted by Kennedy and his fixers is that it took him until morning to realize what happened, and he did not know that Mary Jo was in the car when he left the pond.

This is Teddy's statement to the police:

On July 18, 1969, at approximately 11:15 p.m. in Chappaquiddick, Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, I was driving my car on Main Street on my way to get the ferry back to Edgartown. I was unfamiliar with the road and turned right onto Dike Road, instead of bearing hard left on Main Street.

After proceeding for approximately one-half mile [800 m] on Dike Road I descended a hill and came upon a narrow bridge. The car went off the side of the bridge. There was one passenger with me, one Miss Mary Kopechne, a former secretary of my brother Sen. Robert Kennedy. The car turned over and sank into the water and landed with the roof resting on the bottom.

I attempted to open the door and the window of the car but have no recollection of how I got out of the car. I came to the surface and then repeatedly dove down to the car in an attempt to see if the passenger was still in the car. I was unsuccessful in the attempt.

I was exhausted and in a state of shock. I recall walking back to where my friends were eating. There was a car parked in front of the cottage and I climbed into the backseat. I then asked for someone to bring me back to Edgartown. I remember walking around for a period and then going back to my hotel room. When I fully realized what had happened this morning, I immediately contacted the police.

My Take - What's been called America's First Family - the Kennedy's - has been a family of despicable swine - and Ted was the worst of the lot.  A swine the left praised and called the Liberal Lion of the Senate.  Most likely he was drunk during one of his many rants on the Senate floor.  If we're to believe all the claims of his sexual misconduct, he abused his first wife, and probably all the others also, at least until he was too old and too sick. 

What's truly despicable is this man - who was an absolute supporter of abortion in all forms and in every case - was buried in the church.  And make no mistake about this - his absolute stand supporting abortion is what gave him a pass for his despicable behavior with the left. 

And now everyone wonders how and why all these politicians, entertainers and media types are finding themselves in trouble.  After all those years of excusing swine like the Kennedy's and Clinton they're shocked they're being called to account for conduct they and the women of the left excused. 

Remember when the women of the left proclaimed "character doesn't count" regarding Clinton during the elections-?  And now Jodie Foster claims all men over thirty are responsible.  Another attempt to ameliorate the thinking and actions of the leftist loons who've promoted everything that's destroyed traditional values.  No, it's not the fault of "every" man over thirty.  It's the fault of those who've committed these acts, and in so many cases - the women who wanted to use their gender as a step up. 

Entirely too many people in powerful positions believe they can play by a set of rules separate from the traditions and values of society.  And the left has promoted that thinking for decades.

Leftism is devoid of any moral foundation except for the insane desire to control every aspect of the lives of their fellow man and will accept any new philosophical flavor of the day to do so, even if it means abandoning previously held positions, because nothing is sacred to the left except getting and holding on to power.  

The Wages of Borking

This week marks the 30^th anniversary of one of the turning points in modern American politics: the travesty of the Bork confirmation hearings. The “Borking” of Bork changed the rules of judicial appointments, and have poisoned judicial politics, ever since. It was a shameful moment because of the duplicity and hypocrisy of Democrats.

Several days before President Reagan announced Bork’s nomination to the Supreme Court, Howard Baker and Ed Meese met with Judiciary Committee chairman Joe Biden and Senate Majority Leader Robert Byrd to go through a list of possible nominees, and neither man indicated that Bork was unacceptable. Byrd said to a reporter when asked about Bork’s possible nomination: “I frankly think he would probably be confirmed,” and Byrd cautioned fellow Democrats that Bork’s nomination should not become “a litmus test of party affiliation and loyalty.”

Sen. Dennis DeConcini (D-AZ) said “I start with the assumption that the President has the right to appoint whom he wants.” Biden, never at a loss for words—even if they were someone else’s—had told a reporter in 1986: “Say the administration sends up Bork, and, after our investigation, he looks a lot like another Scalia. I’d have to vote for him, and if the groups tear me apart, that’s the medicine I’ll have to take.  "I’m not Ted Kennedy.”

My Take - I remember the Bork hearings and listening to Ted Kennedy tell everyone Judge Bork was too extreme for the Supreme court.  Ted Kennedy calling some else extreme - can you imagine?  And the media and the left thought that was the height of brilliance and courage. Ted Kennedy was a disgrace!  He as a disgrace for all of his life.  His father was a disgrace and so were his brothers JFK and Bobby.

As the years go by his "legacy" will be exposed for what it was - the irrational rantings of a drunken murderer and an uncompromising promoter of infanticide who led a privileged life without having to face the consequences for his actions.  It was a disgrace for the Catholic Church to bury this man - an unrepentant heretic - in the Church.  But at some point - we all have to face real justice and so will they.
