Jeanine Pirro Rips Bill Barr: ‘So Deep In The Swamp You Can’t See Beyond Your Fellow Reptiles’

Scott Morefield Reporter

Fox News host Jeanine Pirro accused Attorney General Bill Barr of being “so deep in the swamp you can’t see beyond your fellow reptiles” during a lengthy opening monologue on Fox News’ “Justice with Judge Jeanine.”

Barr drew fire from President Donald Trump for saying last week that the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) both “looked into” election fraud allegations but have yet to find any that would conceivably change the result of the November election.

“Ask me that in a number of weeks from now,” Trump told a reporter on Thursday when asked if he has confidence in Barr. “They should be looking at all of this fraud. This is not civil. This is criminal stuff. This is very bad criminal stuff.”

Pirro took aim at Barr on Saturday night, saying the attorney general “has proven himself to be anything other than extraordinary.”...................” To read more and see the video

How the Justice Department Avoids Becoming the ‘Injustice Department’

It was good news that the Justice Department announced Friday it had engaged an outside prosecutor to review the government’s case against Michael Flynn. But restoring the department’s credibility will be a long and arduous process.

Roger Kimball  February 15th, 2020

The news Friday that the Department of Justice had decided not to charge former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe got me thinking once again about the legend chiseled into the façade of the Supreme Court: “Equal Justice Under Law.”

Is that what we have? Michael Horowitz, the Obama-appointed inspector general, concluded that McCabe had lied under oath. But as Andrew McCarthy noted last summer, “Government officials who leak while demonstrating their contempt for Donald Trump manage to land on their feet.” Like James Clapper, Obama’s director of national intelligence, McCabe left his government job to be a commentator on CNN.

Clapper, McCarthy pointed out, is best known for lying to Congress about the government’s bulk collection of telephone metadata . . . and for discussing Steele dossier information with CNN shortly before the network published a report about it . . . CNN missed out on former Obama CIA director John Brennan, who falsely denied to the Senate that his agency spied on the chamber’s intelligence committee. Brennan, who said he was really sorry, was inked by MSNBC...........To Read More...

Attorney General William Barr has reportedly assigned a prosecutor to review the criminal case against General Michael Flynn, President Trump’s former national security adviser.  Barr tapped U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri, Jeffrey Jensen to look into the circumstances surrounding Flynn’s FBI interview, the people familiar with the inquiry said. The inquiry began this past month, the officials said.........To Read More...

Must Read Article: DC Law

February 16, 2020 By Clarice Feldman

So many of this week’s top news stories involve legal matters in Washington, D.C. that I’m making it the focus of this week’s column. There’s the Roger Stone case, the decision to close the investigation into Andrew McCabe over the Horowitz referral that indicated that he had lied to the FBI about the Clinton email leak, and Congressman Jerry Nadler’s calling Attorney General William Barr as a witness in an upcoming hearing.

(a) The Problem with DC juries

Washington, D.C. has a relatively small population from which jurors must be found for the federal and local grand juries, petit juries, and civil juries...........

(b) The Roger Stone Sentence

Here is the indictment of Roger Stone. The back story is here:.........Is it unusual for the Department of Justice to oversee such conduct? No. Attorney General Barr explains:

(c) Jury Foreperson Tomeka Hart

Following the resignation of the prosecutors who were overruled, Tomeka Hart tweeted support for them and independent journalist Mike Cernovich searched her Twitter feeds, which revealed contrary to her statements at voir dire that she “didn’t pay that close attention” to the probe and that Stone’s connection to President Trump would “absolutely not” color her views of him, she had regularly commented on the collusion probe, demonstrated extreme bias against Trump and his supporters, all of whom she called racists, and immediately upon Stone’s conviction tweeted hearts and fist bumps. Here’s the transcript (She’s juror 1261)..........

(d) Trump Tweets

The press made a to-do of Attorney General Barr’s statement that he wished the President would stop tweeting about ongoing cases. The media might have been born yesterday, but all were not. In contrast to Trump’s tweet, which was made only after conviction and concerned the length of the proposed sentence, here are some reminders of President Barack Obama commenting on criminal cases which were then ongoing:............

(e) McCabe Case Closed The Justice Department announced this week that it was closing the case against Andrew McCabe, former FBI deputy director, for lying. As you can imagine, this created a storm on the right, after the outrageously tough sentence being asked for the hapless Roger Stone, not to speak of the handling of Hillary’s numerous lies under oath. There have been various explanations given for this, including -- you guessed it -- the unlikelihood of a D.C. jury convicting him of a process crime. Is he off the hook entirely? Maybe not -- that case involves only his lying about the Clinton email leak noted in the Horowitz report. There’s still U.S. Attorney John Durham’s criminal investigation of the entire Barack Obama team.......

(f) Barr to Testify

Jerry Nadler, Chair of the House Judiciary Committee, has asked Barr to testify about a number of things, including the decision to propose a reduction in Stone’s sentence, now probably moot as a mistrial is almost a certainty. Barr has agreed and will testify on March 31. In my opinion, Barr and Justice Neil Gorsuch are probably two of the smartest, most able lawyers in the entire vast sea of D.C. lawyers. I predict Nadler will end up as a 300-pound lump of melting suet. .........To Read The Entire Article

Trump's Worldwide Dragnet to Catch the Hoaxers

President Trump is trying to get to the bottom of what happened in 2016 and he is oath bound to continue his hot pursuit even if potential political rivals are implicated.
Thomas Farnan October 2nd, 2019

Buried somewhere in recent impeachment reporting was the real news that federal prosecutors are conducting an international dragnet to find the perpetrators of the Russia hoax. Last week, the Justice Department issued a statement:
A team led by U.S. Attorney John Durham is separately exploring the extent to which a number of countries, including Ukraine, played a role in the counterintelligence investigation directed at the Trump campaign during the 2016 election.
It was later learned that Attorney General Barr was absent from Washington and could not answer questions because he was in Italy, where Josef Mifsud - the Western asset who plays a Russian collaborator in the Mueller Report - lives. Officials in the UK and Australia also have been contacted.

Obviously, the CIA is trying to get out ahead of its impending embarrassment by fabricating a scandal packaged as a whistleblower complaint suggesting, incredibly, that the president of the United States is not permitted to solicit foreign assistance in a criminal investigation.

Which is doubly outrageous considering that all these foreign countries are only muddied in this mess because the Obama Administration did just that on behalf of the Clinton campaign; i.e., sought foreign assistance to investigate a purported crime involving Trump........

The media may not like it, but it is on them that they missed the real scandal: The FBI never analyzed the DNC computers the Clinton campaign claimed Putin hacked. That task was left to a contractor retained by the DNC, CrowdStrike...............To Read More.....

Mueller Is Set For Quite a Sleigh-Ride In the House

By , Special to the Sun | July 19, 2019

Nowhere is the collapse of the Democratic Party as a coherent political organization more evident than in the astounding metamorphosis of Robert Mueller. He returned to public notice as special counsel and was instantly heralded by the Democratic press as a virtual Douglas MacArthur of selfless national duty, precisely the sort of rigorous, incorruptible, no-nonsense public servant who would tear the Trump fraud of corruption and artificiality, dirty tricks, shady accounting, and outrageous misbehavior apart and expose the whole rotten mess that had, by nightmarish mischance, moved into the White House (where the Clinton pay-to-play casino should already have been installed).............From Nate Silver to Charles Blow and even the once-professional David Gergen, like a phalanx of bobbleheads, they agreed that impeachment was coming and . . . coming and . . . just around the corner.  Mr. Mueller packed his investigative team with notorious Democratic partisans. ..............

Mr. Trump was an interloper, and he had to be sent packing with such finality that no one would dare interrupt the self-enriching slumbers of the political class for at least another century.......Mr. Mueller, the lion of official redemption, failed again and again................ The Trump lynch mob has reached the last round-up. It only remains for Mr. Barr and his special prosecutor, John Durham, to indict those who politicized the intelligence agencies and the FBI, fraudulently sought FISA warrants to spy on the Trump campaign, and lied to congressional committees and the FBI............To Read More....
