Yesterday's detention of Roberto Marrero, Venezuelan president Juan Guaidó's chief of staff, by the Nicolás Maduro dictatorship, drew bipartisan condemnation from both Republicans and Democrats.
Here's Nancy Pelosi on Twitter. We condemn the Maduro regime’s middle of the night raid and kidnapping of Roberto Marrero, the Chief of Staff to Venezuela’s interim President Juan Guaidó. We call on Maduro to release Marrero immediately and allow him safe return to his family............
Florida Reps. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and Donna Shalala, and New Jersey's Sen. Bob Menendez, all tweeted similarly. We all agree that Maduro is despicable. USA Today called the entire stunt a kidnapping. Maduro’s Support from China, Russia Collapsing

Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro sent his vice president, Delcy Rodriguez, to Moscow last week to see if she could arrange some more financing for Maduro’s failing and cash-starved Marxist regime. She came away with warm words but no cash. Russian president Putin was just too busy to see her and handed her off to Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who told her: “We think the best way to help the Venezuelans is to expand practical, pragmatic, and mutual advantageous cooperation.”Translation: Since you have nothing to bargain with, and since we’re greatly concerned about the return of the $17 billion that we spent propping up your regime, we’re not going to throw good Russian roubles after bad. Have a nice day.
In case that wasn’t clear enough, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said: “We hope our Venezuelan partners sort out as soon as possible the difficulties, both domestic political and, of course, economic, difficulties, that are currently taking place in the country.”
My Take - Some time back the media started blubbering about how we better do something about Venezuela since China and Russia were wanting to use them to get their foot in the Western civilization door. The nose under the camel scenario. I said then I hoped they would since Venezuela is an open sewer literally and financially, that no amount of money would fix it as long as these corrupt rulers remained, and the more they pumped into Venezuela the faster they would collapse. Apparently Russia and China agree, because here we are - they're going home with whatever marbles they have left and make no mistake about this. The agreements they made with Maduro's government are not going to he honored. The new government that comes in will renege and there's not one thing either Russia or China can do about it.

As the Covington kids incident illustrates, whenever there's an outrage, seemingly targeted at an American Indian, you can bet the Left is going to be right there denouncing the supposed perpetrator and sticking up for the Native Americans. Here's an old Mother Jones report that's likely to get the pub sued, waxing indignant about a phony claim of students taunting a Native American "Omaha elder." Mother Jones slathers the white guilt on thick.
Meanwhile, white-as-snow Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren, who played an Indian in the affirmative-action derbies to gain Ivy League teaching posts, now loudly claims to champion Native American causes............ I had planned to write about the strikingly impressive strategy of the U.S. and its allies to send large shipments of aid to starving Venezuelans instead of Marines, all in a bid to persuade Venezuela's military to finally come over to support President Juan Guaidó and effectively boot the detested socialist dictatorship. The idea was to get the Venezuelan military to allow U.S. and other neighborly aid shipments through to help the starving people, which would in fact require defying the Maduro dictatorship.

Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro must be soiling himself about now

Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro, who already has a legal president waiting in the wings to take the reins, now has a mountain of U.S. pressure to get out while the getting's good. He's not much for Twitter, but in the last few hours, he's been going like gangbusters, or, well, in his case, gangs, trying to rally the left to his regime and get his "narrative" for them out. Look at this amazingly long string of recent tweets.
The big thing making him scream publicly is news of the crushing round of sanctions employed by President Trump and his dream team of Latin American advisers, declaring anyone out there collaborating with the Venezuelan oil company now subject to sanctions, same as Venezuela's ruling drug-dealers.
The sanctions also focus on Citgo ownership, handing recognized power to Venezuela's legitimate president, Juan Guaidó. That targets the money stream, and Maduro doesn't have much money left anyway. All of these moves, coupled with defection after defection, and now the news U.S. incentives to the Venezuelan troops involved in running Venezuela's oil company to defect (which seems to be a keystone of Operation Boot Maduro), are poison to the dictator. Feel the Bern: Maduro and Venezuela

Last year I predicted Maduro and his band of merciless thugs would be gone before December. I was wrong, but not by much, and I can "Feel the Bern" now, and I bet Maduro does also. Why hasn't he fled? I don't think he can find anyone who will take him in and guarantee he won't be sent back to Venezuela to be tried for the crimes he and his cabal have perpetrated.
Also, why aren't the left wing misfits who demanded Pinochet be tried in the International Court for Crimes against Humanity aren't after the entire Maduro regime? Because that false body of justice is nothing more than an appendage of injustice created by insane socialists, designing it to be open ended and unencmubered by rules that would prevent it from condemning anyone who stands against that worldwide movement. Especially the United States.
Fortunately American leaders recognized it for what it was and refused to participate, which exposed it as the disgusting antithetical mockery of legitimate justice that it is.

As I noted yesterday regarding National Security Advisor John Bolton's and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's statements, something is going on with Venezuela. Both Bolton and Pompeo told Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro to get the heck out and suggested the U.S. was ready to recognize National Assembly leader Juan Guaido as the country's president.
They had perfect grounds for it, because Maduro illegally and unconstitutionally swore himself in to another term after a fraud election and didn't even show up at the right place for his inauguration. The statements coming from the U.S. were unprecedented - evidence of a true recognition of the facts on the ground, evidence of the U.S. leading, and evidence of "a plan," as I argued.

In Venezuela, the main thing we hope and watch for is the whole disaster ending. The people are starving. The aid is not getting through. The oil is gone. The cocaine is out of control. The terrorists are running wild. The torture has started. The oil infrastructure is collapsing. The currency is rotten, with inflation in seven digits. The corruption tops Mobutu's. The country is selling itself out like a raddled street whore to hostile powers in exchange for military weapons and foreign troops to base there, and getting itself into deep-dive debt. Millions are fleeing. The neighbors are angry.
Disasters always do end at some point. But as in the case of Cuba, which incidentally runs Venezuela, that could be a very long time. So the natural thing is to watch for the cracks forming, to watch the opposition for a critical legislative maneuver or, more likely, a Venezuelan Spring – to watch the neighbors, to watch the military, to watch anyone out there who can force some kind of change in the hellhole.

You know that dictator Nicolás Maduro, who just swore himself into office for another term after a fraud election, is busy torturing troops and their relatives. Despite electing a socialist, and that socialist doing what socialists do, which is invite other socialists to his presidential inauguration, an incident in Mexico City yesterday suggests that the landscape has shifted for the left. Here's what went down:

Venezuela's socialist President Nicolas Maduro got booed, bigtime, at the inauguration of Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, Mexico's first leftist president in decades. The booing happened from both the left and right, as attending members of Mexico's farthest left and farthest right parties stood up, pointed, chanted 'dictator!' and whipped out a banner telling Maduro he wasn't welcome in Mexico.
Compare and contrast to the cordial reception Vice President Mike Pence got, representing the U.S. for President Trump's administration. He sure as heck didn't get booed.
And compare and contrast to all those years of Hugo Chavez whooping it up for the cameras in the early 2000s with his fellow leftwing leaders, all little pawns and boobs of his, orbiting him like satellites, yelling about Meester Boosh! Socialism! Socialism! Socialism!

Feel The Bern: Maduro is Done and Venezuela is Toast. Another Socialist Paradise!

Recently I commented Maduro wanted to loot what was left of Venezuela's wealth before fleeing to some country that would take he and his thugs. Of course, some will be left behind to suffer the fate they richly deserve - but Maduro and the upper echelon will flee somewhere, and it's my guess it will be Cuba. And I think that's why he visited Castro's socialist paradise, whose economic system and health care are now only second to Venezuela - from the bottom that is - and not to pay tribute to Fidel Castro's memory.
Over the years Cuba has been a strong supporter of Chavez and Maduro, but now there's nothing left...what now?
Police are setting fire to motorbikes belonging to the press, seemingly because they were reporting on battles with national guardsmen and the anti-government protesters.
The army is starving and soldiers have been caught crossing the border into Guyana to beg for food. Among the average citizen that's been going for a long time - but never soldiers. One national guard officer wanted to launch a revolt (he's arrested) to prevent the country from going into "total destruction". Sorry, you should have thought about that five years ago!
The government destroyed their own economy with their stupid socialist insanity, and now they're so broke they can't import basic necessities. With hunger being endemic and triple-digit inflation, the government is completely unable to import basic goods. Starvation is now becoming the rule rather than the exception, and people are fleeing to Colombia, Brazil and Guyana just looking for food.
Now with U.S. sanctions Maduro wants to meet with President Trump, saying "Here's my hand", but funny hand he's offering since he claims he's going to challenge the sanction in U.S. courts. His economic problems go far deeper than Trump.
Because of the phony vote that gave him dictatorial powers, "a number of corporations" are wanting action taken against the country. “On Thursday, Credit Suisse barred transactions involving certain Venezuelan bonds and business with Venezuela's government and related agencies has to undergo reputation risk reviews. This comes after Goldman Sachs faced scrutiny for buying $2.8 billion in bonds issues by state oil company PDVSA." "In light of the political climate and recent events in Venezuela ... we want to ensure that Credit Suisse does not provide the means for anyone to violate the human rights of the Venezuelan people," Reuters said, citing a Credit Suisse memo."

Recently I commented Maduro wanted to loot what was left of Venezuela's wealth before fleeing to some country that would take he and his thugs. Of course, some will be left behind to suffer the fate they richly deserve - but Maduro and the upper echelon will flee somewhere, and it's my guess it will be Cuba. And I think that's why he visited Castro's socialist paradise, whose economic system and health care are now only second to Venezuela - from the bottom that is - and not to pay tribute to Fidel Castro's memory.

The army is starving and soldiers have been caught crossing the border into Guyana to beg for food. Among the average citizen that's been going for a long time - but never soldiers. With hunger being endemic and triple-digit inflation, the government is completely unable to import basic goods. Starvation is now becoming the rule rather than the exception, and people are fleeing to Colombia, Brazil and Guyana just looking for food.
Now with U.S. sanctions Maduro wants to meet with President Trump, saying "Here's my hand", but funny hand he's offering since he claims he's going to challenge the sanction in U.S. courts. His economic problems go far deeper than Trump.

Feel the Bern: Venezuela's Chaos Is the Logical End of Democrats' Vision for America
President Nicolas Maduro has no tolerance for dissent. For months, he’s used brute force to silence his critics, and most recently, families of opposition leaders have alleged that Maduro’s political rivals have been seized and shipped off to an unknown location. However, long before the current political turmoil, a number of economic crises created the civil unrest Venezuela now faces.
Venezuela wasn’t always this chaotic, and although absolutely none of the politicians in Washington, D.C. deserve to be put in the same camp as a tyrant like Maduro, it’s worth remembering that the very same political philosophies serving as the foundation of the Democratic Party are the philosophies that have utterly destroyed Venezuela: price fixing, centralized economic controls, a nationalized economy, and an emphasis on expanding the role of government in nearly every aspect of life..............More
My Take - The statement "absolutely none of the politicians in Washington, D.C. deserve to be put in the same camp as a tyrant like Maduro" is a logical fallacy. In reality ,there's no Maduro in Washington because they can't be like Maduro. However, that doesn't mean they wouldn't love to be like Maduro, and aren't working to become a Maduro. Under the skin of every leftist is a Maduro just waiting to bust out. Leftism is a philosophy of tyranny. And we know that because that's always been the end result in any country where leftists took complete control. That's history, and that history is incontestable.

Inflation, Shortages, and Social Democracy in Venezuela

The economic turmoil in Venezuela has received increasing
international media attention over the past few months. In September, the toilet paper shortage (which followed food shortages and
electricity blackouts) resulted in the “temporary occupation” of the Paper
Manufacturing Company, as armed troops were sent to ensure the “fair
distribution” of available stocks. Similar action occurred a few days ago
against electronics stores: President Nicolás Maduro accused
electronics vendors of price-gouging, and jailed them with the warning that
“this is just the start of what I’m going to do to protect the Venezuelan
people.”
Earlier this month, in another attempt to ensure
“happiness for all people,” Maduro began to hand out Christmas bonuses, in preparation for the coming elections in
December. But political campaigning is not the only reason for the government’s
open-handedness. The annual inflation rate in Venezuela has been rapidly rising
in recent months, and has now reached a staggering 54 percent (not accounting
for possible under-estimations). Although not yet officially in hyperinflation,
monetary expansion is pushing Venezuela toward the brink…… seeds of disaster are sown from the
beginning of government intervention in the market, although “the first stage
of the inflationary process may last for many years.” But the final stages of
economic collapse occur far more quickly....... the difference between the U.S.
