Getting MAGA To Go Left on Israel

The media has taken to claiming that there’s a “civil war” within MAGA over Israel. In reality, 78% of Republicans supported Israel’s strikes on Iran and 71% support its war on Hamas. The “civil war” was manufactured by media hacks, hoping conservatives will adopt their support for Islamic terrorists, and social media influencers who are in the pay of Islamic interests.

And the most revealing thing about the fake “civil war” is that those trying to get MAGA to go left on Israel rely on leftists to tell them what to believe about Israel. Tucker Carlson’s leading anti-Israel guests include Jeffrey Sachs, a UN official involved in the 2030 Agenda who had received millions from Soros and who denounced Trump and called ‘America First’ “Idiocy”, and Glenn Greenwald, a socialist living in Brazil who attended Marxist-Leninist conferences, defended Hamas, and hailed AOC’s ‘Tax the Rich’ dress as “revolutionary and subversive.”

Most recently, Tucker brought on Ana Kasparian from the leftist Young Turks podcast, headed by Cenk Uygur, a Turkish leftist Muslim, who used to defend socialism before announcing she’s now “unaligned”, to lambast Israel. Nothing says America First like leftist Young Turks.

The latest Turning Point USA conference featured a debate over Israel between Josh Hammer, a longtime conservative figure and Dave Smith, a ‘libertarian’ sidekick of Joe Rogan, who had ranted that President Trump was a war criminal who should spend the rest of his life in jail. Rogan, a former Bernie Sanders supporter, recently came out in favor of a government income.

There’s no ‘civil war’ within MAGA over Israel. There’s only leftist infiltration of the movement.

The recent attacks on Israel by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and others similarly rely on believing leftist propaganda from the media. But if we’re supposed to believe the media when it peddles its latest famine hoax (after previously pushing famine hoaxes in Yemen and Afghanistan), why shouldn’t we believe it when it pushes those same lies about ICE?

The same media sources inventing fake starving kids in Gaza are the ones who were pushing the “kids in cages” on us at the border. And for the same reason. They want Americans and Israelis to surrender and stop fighting the invasion. And they’re using the most obvious button-pushing ‘won’t someone think of the children’ hoaxes and lies to force us to surrender.

If we’re going to take our morality from fake media human rights outrages, America First is going to survive for approximately 5 minutes before bowing to the bleeding hearts.

That is what happens when you accept the morals and rhetoric of the Left. And some on the Right appear to be willing to accept leftists as the arbiters of morality to a surprising degree.

Sohrab Ahmari, who retweeted Anat Saragusti, an Israeli leftist extremist, argued in an essay that “today, it is they — the Israeli left — who carry the Jewish conscience, who grasp all the dimensions of Jewish moral responsibilities.” This argument is the same one being made by the New York Times. It is the quintessential liberal argument for surrender in America and Israel.

What Ahmari was really admitting was that there is no conservative case against Israel, only a leftist one. To attack Israel is to uphold the moral supremacy of the Left and to exit the right.

In his essay, Ahmari pays tribute to the “birthright of Jewish universalism” and complains that Jews in Israel are trading “universalism” for ‘ethnic chauvinism’ by fighting to defeat Hamas. A true universalist wouldn’t fight for his nation or people, he would only fight for universal principles, and stop fighting the moment universalism and national survival are in conflict.

That is the position of the Israeli Left, the American Left and the position of national suicide.

This isn’t a conservative argument. Rather Ahmari is cribbing from Peter Beinart and the kind of Jews who tended to surround Obama. The implications of upholding a suicidal universalism over national self-preservation go beyond Israel’s battle against Islamic terrorism.

As Dave Smith recently argued, “you cannot be pro-life and pro-war.” If we adopt that leftist universalism being hailed by Ahmari and Smith, and accept that national interests don’t matter and the life of an Islamic terrorism is of as much value as an American terror victim (and it goes without saying an Israeli terror victim) then pacifism becomes the only moral position.

And we might as well surrender now and take our mandatory beheadings in good humor.

America and Israel are both fighting against ‘universalism’ for our rights as nations and peoples, against the moral relativism that equates the lives of our citizens with the lives of our enemies. If we cannot put our own people and our nation state first, then we have already agreed to die.

That is everything America First stands against. It’s everything Trump stands against.

Using the false flag of opposing ‘endless wars’, radicals are trying to sneak their anti-American position into the MAGA tent. They’re trying to trick MAGA into accepting a universalist position on Israel and then on America. Israel is the canary in the coal mine here. If we accept that Israel has no right to fight back against the Islamic Jihad, we will eventually accept that we can’t do it.

And not just Islamic terrorism, but anything at all. Including illegal aliens invading our border.

On Oct 7, Israel asked the question whether its nation has the right to exist. It didn’t ask it with aimless philosophy, but with military force. That’s the same question President Trump asked when he rode down that escalator. That’s still the same question being asked today.

The Left believes that every non-western nation, no matter how ruthless, genocidal or evil, has the right to exist, and that no western nation, no matter how liberal, has that same right. Many European nations are now ruled by those dedicated to their own national destruction. That is why the UK’s Starmer regime has taken to locking up anyone who mentions the Islamic invasion of the UK, why police forces monitor social media and why it silences journalists.

Only the worst kind of fools believe that the Left cares about the human rights hoaxes it puts about on ICE, Israel or mass migration in Europe. The same Left that whines over Poland’s border security or how much food is in Gaza also covered up the mass rape of British girls by Muslim sex grooming gangs, the cartel invasions of America and the mass murder of Israelis.

Anyone who turns to leftists as moral authorities is either evil, suicidal or a useful idiot.

The First Commandment of the Left aimed at the Judeo-Christian world civilization is “Thou shalt not exist. Thou shalt commit suicide. Thou shalt allow your enemies to overrun you and destroy you.” The Second Commandment of the Left is “Thou shalt tell any lie to weaken the moral resolve and the courage of the defenders of civilization and get them to surrender.”

Democrats allowed the Left into their party and committed political suicide. Now leftists and their enablers are trying to sneak the same corrupt ideology into the Republican Party, the conservative movement and MAGA under the guise of leftists who claim to be ‘anti-woke’ but are just as committed to the destruction of America. You cannot be MAGA if you support America’s enemies. And you cannot be MAGA if you don’t believe America should exist.

The anti-Israel movement is also an anti-American movement because it’s a leftist movement. And there can be no compromises and no common ground with the Left. As generations of college students becoming radicalized on campus showed us, when you accept the premises of the Left, you become the Left, and then you become the enemy of everything you believed.

Right now, the Left wants to get MAGA to go left on Israel. Tomorrow, it will be America’s turn.

Democrats’ Resistance to MAGA Runs Into an Echo Chamber Wall

Trump’s political opponents think they’ve figured out their problem – but they still don’t get it.

Between Nov. 5, 2024, and Jan. 20 of this year, Democrats licked their wounds, trying to figure out how and why they lost so badly. Once Donald Trump walked back into the White House, though, his opponents turned their attention to resisting his MAGA agenda. They are flailing, and that may be largely because they never solved their post-election, pre-inauguration puzzle. The “Resistance” is struggling for purchase because the people behind it still don’t understand precisely why they find themselves resisting rather than governing.

Politico recently published a trio of articles that could perhaps collectively be described as a Democratic Party postmortem. The articles featured Democrat strategists and three officeholders, Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA), Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), and New York City councilman Chi Ossé (D) opining on what they think went wrong for them in 2024. They also shared their thoughts on why they are struggling to win the messaging war against President Trump and, indeed, the wider MAGA movement.

“Trump and Republicans have been able to grasp different types of media in how to get their message across that impacts society as a whole,” said Ossé, “and I do believe that Dem leadership is missing the mark, not only in the election but in our resistance 2.0. We need to be active in every medium.”

Perhaps three significant factors are at play, here. The fact that Trump’s new government efficiency pit-bull, Elon Musk, also happens to be the world’s richest man and the owner of perhaps the world’s most influential social media platform gives MAGA a big advantage. There is also Trump’s own understanding of the power of social media – and his not insignificant use of it.

Legacy Media Bubble

There is another pivotal factor, however, and one of the Politico articles touches on it. “Democrats’ weakness in reaching voters outside traditional channels — TikTok, not MSNBC; YouTube, not national newspapers — isn’t new,” the article observes. The political left’s decades-long dominance of the establishment legacy media has backfired in this information age. Democrats got too comfortable with the idea that The New York Times and the alphabet TV news networks such as ABC, MSNBC, and CNN, along with DC’s most prominent print newspaper, would always give them positive exposure and champion their agenda.

 

This became the Democrats’ echo chamber. They got comfortable with it – and complacent. They were almost never asked the tough questions and were rarely challenged, even if they made easily debunked claims.

By contrast, Republicans and conservatives have been crowded out in these traditional media platforms. They are constantly challenged, accused, berated, and shouted down. The legacy media, by shunning them, drove them to social and alternative media, which are now the most common platforms from which Americans get their news.

The Failure to Grasp MAGA

None of this goes to the heart of the Democrats’ problem, though, or explains why MAGA has arguably now become the most consequential grass-roots political movement in the history of the western world.

MAGA – Make America Great Again – was a reaction to years of failed policy and social/cultural destruction. Democrats have simply never grasped this fact. Instead, they have only doubled down on the same tired and discredited narratives. Raskin perfectly demonstrated this mental inertia during the interview he did for Politico’s “Deep Dive” podcast.

Asked where Democrats go from here in their effort to resist the Trump agenda, Raskin responded: “Overall, we have to work on a short-term, daily basis to defeat and block every authoritarian, fascistic move against the rights of the people, against the separation of powers, against legislative supremacy to be the lawmaking power.”

Stuck in the Echo Chamber

Naturally, Raskin’s interviewer did not challenge him on what was “authoritarian” or “fascistic” about anything Trump has done since returning to the White House. Then again, this was a Politico interview, and therein lay the problem. Democrats are talking about the need to compete with MAGA across the wider new media landscape, but they are forced to stick within the leftist echo chamber – which Politico inhabits – if they want their usual rhetoric to go unchallenged.

It’s News, Captain – But Different!

If Raskin appeared on Joe Rogan’s podcast or One America News Network or The Blaze – or did an interview with Liberty Nation News – and described Trump as a fascist, he would be challenged to explain himself.

At least some Democrats appear to be on the verge of figuring out their decline in the public’s esteem. “I think the majority of the party realizes that the ideological purity of some of the groups is a recipe for disaster and that candidly the attack on over-the-top wokeism was a valid attack,” Sen. Warner observed. By and large, though, Trump’s political enemies are still stuck on the idea that Trump is a fascist, Trump is a racist. The 2024 election proved that Americans aren’t buying it. All Democrat efforts to compete with MAGA across the broader media and information landscape will be in vain if they do not fundamentally change the message itself.

The Oscars Exposes the Mephitic Ooze of Hollywood

First off, let's start with the phrase mephitic ooze.  I think it's a great phrase I intend to use over and over again as it fits so many scenarios in entertainment, journalism, government, and even business, all of which are infected with the corrupting and deadly viruses of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.  Tenets of the socially destructive Church of Wokeness.  Mephitic is defined as:  

"(especially of a gas or vapor) foul-smelling; noxious. "the cloud of mephitic vapors lingered above our heads"

Can any word define the Oscars better?  That's the Oscars, an ooze of foul smelling and noxious behavior.   On March 11, 2024 Daniel Greenfield published this piece, No One Cares About the Oscars, saying: 

Forget about it. Everyone else has. Hollywood’s top-ranked award show will dominate media coverage for the day and will be forgotten well before the week is over. The big FYC billboards will be rolled up and recycled. And the little golden statues will eventually end up on eBay. The Academy Awards started out as a private industry party and has become that again. And the Oscars are less relevant than ever because Hollywood is less relevant than ever.

I think that pretty much echos my views on the Oscars and Hollywood.  In 2021 I published this piece, The "Egomaniac Brigade", which was based on a Breitbart piece, Oscar Nominees Warned: No Acceptance Speeches via Zoom, No Hoodies, saying:

What's clear is the number of people watching these agonizingly long "award" shows, filled with self aggrandizing, over paid, over catered to, ego stroking, political pandering, ignorant "stars" spouting off about things they know little about is dropping like a stone.  Their "hate America" theme isn't playing well with ..... well.....Americans!.....  

I guess they didn't get the memo that Americans resent being called racists, greedy deplorables, desperately clinging to their guns and Bibles, and are really sick of being told "they owe" ..... well.... every loser in the world, and from all over the world, including the ones coming here to kill us.  

Yesterday the Egomaniac Brigade was parking cars and pumping gas and now they "just have" to share their views with the world on economics, culture, global warming, global pandemics, masks, lockdowns, racism, sexism, equality, gender, diversity, politics, social engineering of every sort, and ....well....____________, fill in the blank as the list goes on ad nauseam, and tomorrow more will be added.

Well, that was three years ago and nothing's changed, unless you consider the stench that's Hollywood has worsened.   These losers still think because they're "celebrities" they're experts on domestic and foreign policy for America, and more than qualified to define the national and foreign policies of other countries, especially Israel.  And they think the people of the world actually want to hear what they think, and I use the word "think" loosely. 

They're views on Israel are deplorable.  Israel is a small nation surrounded by enemies who massively outnumber them and devoted to their destruction.  A nation who's at war with a terrorist nation, Gaza, due to an unprovoked attack that was so vile disgusting it should h ave outraged the entire world.  And get over their efforts to redefine Gaza and the Palestinian authority, they are, terrorist nations, and now the Palestinian Authority has now openly allied themselves with Hamas to defeat Israel.  Hollywood support of these monsters really is deplorable.

Oscar winner Jonathan Glazer spewed out this irrational babble in effect "refuting his Jewishness  over Israel’s war of self-defense against Hamas", claiming the Holocaust was being hijacked by the "occupation".   These nutty demands for a cease fire are unending from these nitwits, all of whom had armed guards at the Oscars, many of them wearing red pins to publicly show their support of Hamas.  And make no mistake, a cease fire before Hamas is defeated is the defeat of Israel, as that allows Hamas to rearm, resupply, and continue their "stated goal of wiping Israel off the face of the map." 

Regarding these nitwits wearing red pins Robert Spencer notes in his article, Foes of Israel Wore Red Hand Pins at Oscars, saying these public demonstrations are:

A reflection on the full horrific symbolism. The Oscars are always a superb occasion for leftists to indulge in an orgy of virtue-signaling, and this year was no different. Foes of Israel sported little round pins featuring a red hand with a black heart in the palm, which even for them was a bizarre and ham-fisted way to show the world that they want Israel to stop fighting and Hamas to live. It recalled nothing more vividly than a notorious Palestinian jihad massacre which, despite having taken place over twenty years ago, is still recalled with horror among Israelis and supporters of Israel.

 

As is the case for all leftists, they're weak on history, weak on facts, weak on solutions that work, and big on shooting off their mouths about things of which they are abundantly ignorant, and an equally vile media supports their stupidly. You have to ask yourself this question: Are they stupid, crazy, or just dangerous?  Answer, yes!

All qualified for membership in the Club For the Galacticly Stupid, starting with  Robert De Niro who runs his mouth with expletives against Trump over and over again, and it's boring.  He's claiming Trump is "stupid", who along with another equally vile nitwit, Jimmy Kimmel, called Trump a  “malignant narcissist” and “socio-psychopath” and denigrated what's being called the MAGA base.   Has there even been a worst host? 

 

The public is being spit on by these nitwits, and the public is responding with their dollars.  But according to Hollywood, that lack of support by the public isn't because their woke movies are lousy, it's because the audience is sexist and bigoted.  

 

Remarkable, so, let's see if I understand this correctly. It appears they think:

• Insulting their customers is the way to go to reverse this anti-woke trend?  
• Insulting the foundational mores and values of society will make this tuned out audience more receptive to values that are antithetical to their own, and are viewed as destructive to society.
  

Did I get that right?  I didn't miss anything did I?

There's just no limit to the amount of "unwokeness" in the world.  It's unlimited, and must be challenged,  including Hollywood, which is an attendant member of the the Church of Wokeness.  It turns out Hollywood is racist!  It seems Lily Gladstone is in a snit because as a "native American" she didn't win the Oscar saying, ‘they’re still racist at the Oscars’.  

 

Well Lily, get over yourself, no one owes you anything!!  Is it any wonder the Oscars is dying!

 

What once was a great show has turned into a stench of mephitic ooze.  A stench of rude, crude, and stupid, and irresponsible behavior!  Is there a day in the offing when the Oscars will be gone?  If so, and that day comes, I say good riddance.  

 

With AI coming on like gang busters, it seems a few negative things are on the horizon for these Hollywood misfits.  There will be a whole lot fewer "celebrities", a lot fewer Hollywood jobs, and most of them are not going to be making obscene amounts of money as they are now.  The best part?  We're going to be spared from hearing a lot of ignorant and stupid opinions from nitwits and misfits, who were parking cars and pumping gas before they became "important" celebrities, whose only gifts are looking good pretending to be people who never existed, memorizing and saying lines others have written, and doing so at the direction of others in order to look as if they actually have a brain in their heads.

 

These celebrities live in a world of "yes", surrounded by myrmidons, yes men, sycophants and flunkies telling them how great they, how smart they are, how wise they are, how important they are, and that's bound to warp a person mind, and especially young and unstable minds.

 

The entertainment business has always been full of strange people, and that goes back centuries.  Take a look at the lives of some of the world's greatest composers.  Many of their lives were short and far from conventional.  Is there a genetic component involved for those who gravitate to entertainment?  Is that genetic component that which lso draws them to strange views and behaviors?    

 

I've often thought the best actors are the most psychologically impaired, and I think that's because they can transform themselves into others effectively.  Is it possible spending their lives trying to be someone else complicates and confuses them psychologically?  Does that make it difficult for them to define reality properly?  Does that make them susceptible to strange alternative "herd culture" views of reality?  

 

I think so. 

What's the Leftist Definition For Extremism in America?

Well, it appears the left thinks anyone who wants secure borders is a greedy, xenophobic, racist "extremist".   Since that's the bulk of America, we have to conclude Democrats feel the nation is filled with extremists, and they, who want to destroy the American culture are the normals.   And yes, that's a Democrat standard for defining "extremism".

It's clear  Biden was elected through a corrupt nationwide organized effort at voter fraud, and the nation is aware of it.  So, the extremists are wanting secure elections.  Which the Democrats oppose because that will destroy "our" democracy, which in their case means one party rule forever.  However, while secure elections would destroy "their" democracy, it would save "our" republic.

No modern advanced society can survive without inexpensive abundant energy.  Energy that America is more than capable of producing internally, none of which the Democrats want.   That makes those who are wanting  energy independence extremists, and those who want to destroy the economy and drive America into poverty are normal.   Did I get that right?

Those with a solid moral Judaic/Christian ethic abhor abortion, considering it the murder of the innocent unborn, and want solid indisputable protection of the unborn.  The Democrats consider that extremism, in spite of the fact protecting the unborn has been the standard for humanity for untold centuries. But the whole world was full of extremists then, except for those pagan religions that sacrificed their children to pagan gods.   Apparently, these monsters who threw their children into the fires of Baal must have been normal.  Right?

Extremism is also the Democrats definition for those who believe it's the parents who should be making decisions for their children, not teachers, and not the government via these so called "medical professionals" who want to mutilate the genitals of children pushing transgenderism on these young and impressionable minds. 

And as for those who are demanding better education via school choice, they are absolutely considered extremists, especially by the corrupt teacher's unions.

These extremists believe the Constitution is under attack, and has been for decades, and think government officials need to adhere to their sworn oath to uphold and defend the Constitution.  Wow!  Just how extreme is that.

And worst of all Democrats define those as "extremists" who believe America comes first, and the rest of the world second.  Which to these leftist globalists, in both parties by the way, is anathema, and the perfect example of extremism.   

Strange isn't it.  Everything they do, and everything them promote will delivery dystopia to society; misery, poverty, disease, suffering, tyranny, and early death is normal.  But those who oppose all that are the extremists.    

And the most extreme of them all must be these veterans who are now saying demanding accountability from the DoD over the corrupt tyranny covid corrupt tyranny they imposed on these patriots regarding covid shots. And 231 U.S. service members are demanding court-martials.  How dare they?  What extremists!!! 

So, since Trump and the entire MAGA crowd believe in all of that, it's clear, they must be extremists!   While leftists, socialists, globalists, communists and Democrats who oppose all of that, (there I go again repeating myself) are normal.  Imagine that. 

Does anyone beside me think that sounds just a little bit nuts?  

Hillary Clinton Calls for ‘Formal Deprogramming’ of MAGA ‘Cult Members’

Former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton said Thursday on CNN’s “Primetime” she believed there needed to be a “formal deprogramming of the cult members” who support former President Donald Trump.

Clinton said, “You saw the number of Republicans who voted along with Democrats to keep the government open, so there’s clearly a common sense, sane part of the Republican caucus in the House. But I think they are intimidated. They oftentimes, you know, say and do things which they know better than to say or do. It will require us defeating those most extreme measures and the people who promote them in order to try to get to some common ground where people can again work together.”..........To Read More....

My Take - What amazes me is this interviewer did choke and gag at her comments.  Trump is only in it for himself?  Coming from a Clinton....ya gotta be kidden me.  She's been corrupt up to her eyeballs, and she's in no position to criticize anyone else, especially since trump has suffered financially and personally far beyond anything she or her corrupt husband have suffered. Suffering they deserve, and more,  like jail time for their criminal activity.

Wake up and smell the coffee.  Can’t you see what’s happening in our country?  We elected you to do precisely the opposite of what you are doing.

Your priorities should be God, country, community, family, and self.  In that exact order.  I believe that’s what Tom, George, Ben and the guys that got together in 1776 decided that America was supposed to be.  A country made-up of strong individuals, coming from different phases of life, working together to construct legislation that benefits everyone.

That is not the situation in our Congress, and you know it.

As a citizen, taxpayer, and voter in this country, I am a US government stockholder, and you are on my Board of Directors.  Your job is to work for me, not yourself.

To paraphrase former president Harry Truman, “If you get rich in politics, you’re a crook.”

Old Harry knew what he was talking about.  Too many of you have removed God from priority Number One and moved “me” up to the top of the list.  It’s not that you’re not good people, but your priorities have shifted from country to self.  That’s why we’re in trouble.

Too many of you have never held a job or operated a business.  You do not understand the issues facing the people that hired you.  The one introductory lesson you have never learned: you can’t pay for something with money you do not have.  In your case, tax revenue.  Quit stealing my kid’s future to give away buying votes.

Yes, it is stealing.  Huge Bills are created with nice-sounding names.  The intent of the legislation sounds reasonable; however, in action, it will cost millions more than the problem needs, bloating the government even further as a means for you to buy votes.

Interestingly some of you professional politicians have a multi-million-dollar net worth.  So do your children.  That’s a pretty good trick for someone living on their congressional salary without outside business: or breaking the rules.  Of course, if you read the rulebook, you probably know but don’t care; there are strict rules regarding engaging in business, as you could easily influence its profitability.  Hmmm, I think ole Harry knew of what he spoke. 

You have developed two large classes of people in America, those that live off the government and those who must pay for it.

Heavy yoke of government each and every day

As a result, this is not the country I want to leave my children and grandchildren.  I want to leave them something where they can see a bright future, where they can grow, where they can build a good life for themselves and their families, and they can worship their God if they desire to.  They can be good citizens without carrying the heavy yoke of government each and every day.

They do not need to be told in third grade about the proper use of “pronouns,” if you get my drift.  Everything they do does not need to be regulated by the Federal Government, including the size of their soft drink can.

Oh, yes, I hear Mitch McConnell on the Senate side and Kevin McCarthy, on the House side, stand up and make these heart-wrenching speeches, that oh, our inflation is going through the roof, gas prices are so high, our oil industry has been ruined, we’re becoming the laughing stock of the world!  Oh, and by the way, would you guys on the other side of the aisle, pretty please cut that out?

Your answer is 78 texts I got on my cell phone over the weekend.  They came from candidates all the way across the country, asking for money.  The members of this group with business or military backgrounds probably have the know-how to get us back on track.  They are fighting millions, and millions of “dark money” dollars being slipped into the country from people overseas interested in taking control of our government. 

Thanks to your lack of leadership, I’m now on a fixed income, and sadly, I don’t have money to donate to people with a bit of patriotism who would work for me, one of the nation’s stockholders.

However, you have failed dramatically in your leadership.  Turn off the computers sending out all the texts and emails, and I might mention that some of them are very insulting towards those who receive them.  Shaming people into giving money is fraud and manipulation.

Get off your butts, get out in the country with the people you are supposed to represent and raise the money yourselves.

When I first walked off Main Street and entered politics in 1984, hoping to win the election and then do what I could to help turn the economy around, Iowa was in one of the worst economic depressions the state had ever seen.  Jimmy Carter had interest rates at 20%.  Farms were being foreclosed on every day, and we would lose a bank about once a week.  People on the farms and Main Street were suffering; sadly, many didn’t make it.

So how am I supposed to raise what, in those days, was a tremendous amount of money?  Raise $270,000 in a climate like this? 

We did it a dollar at a time.  I was up early.  I knocked on doors, and I went to cafes.  I went to machine shops; I went into welding shops; I walked down Main Street, talked to merchants, and then we’d have a meeting in the afternoon, and following that, I would meet some more people. Then that evening, we would have what we call the “meet and greet,” where we’d have people come to someone’s home, and I would chat with them.  Hopefully, our conversation encouraged them to give me some money.  I went home many nights totally exhausted, arriving well after midnight.

From that experience, the feeling became that if they bought a ticket, they would ride the train.  Our people worked their butts off and raised that $270,000, with an average donation of 17 bucks, one check for $100, and nothing bigger.

We did it with bake sales, no bake bake sales, auctions, and people working hard to organize more people so we could meet them and greet them.  The folks would donate a buck or two.  Yes, they bought the ticket, and they rode the train.

It’s hard work.  I came home one time from being on the road, was very discouraged, and considered dropping out of the race.  As I pulled up in front of our office, a gentleman was standing beside an old pickup that was rusted out.  It had four extremely worn tires, but none of them matched.  He was standing next to the pickup, wearing a pair of not the cleanest overalls in the world.  As I walked past him, he stuck out his hand and asked, “Are you, Jim?”

“Yes, Sir.”

As a taxpayer, understand clearly what I am saying; you work for me, not the other way around

He handed me a folded, dirty old $5 bill.  It had to have been a fortune to him!

“I think you will do a good job for me,” came softly from his lips. 

He turned, opened the door, climbed into his pickup, and drove away without another word.

My eyes stared at that $5 bill as I walked into the office.  There were tears in my eyes.  Because that’s what this was all about.  I was supposed to go to Congress and work for him.

That’s what our forefathers wanted.  Not to represent me.  Not to get some nice soft seat where you didn’t have to worry about getting fired for two years. 

As a taxpayer, understand clearly what I am saying; you work for me, not the other way around. 

You are the only one that can save us.  You must get off your collective rear ends and become men and women who stand for America first.  “Me” should be somewhere way, way down the list.  Demonstrate patriotism rather than personal gain.

I voted against the Americans with Disabilities Act.  My staff went ballistic.  They told me I would probably lose the election, but they stood behind me 100%.  One remark regarding my opponent, “They will run a commercial showing you throwing a guy in a wheelchair off a Cliff!”

Come election time, they did, but we won the election, as I stood solid for what I believed in.  People understood my reasoning when not viewed through the prism of slanted mass media and paid attack commercials.

I believe the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is excellent in its intent and purpose.  However, it is another massive government program that is nothing more than the full Employment Act for trial lawyers.

I used to forecast the weather and missed it now and then, but I didn’t miss this one.  Time has shown that another bloated program was born, paid for with my kid’s and grandkid’s futures.

Those of us out here in the country are unhappy; we see our savings disappear, we see our grocery bills climb, and our fuel bills mount.  Oh, my goodness, our utility bills are headed sky-high.  We also are watching China and Russia raising their ugly heads again.

Please show some leadership

You might not have liked Trump because his personality could be a little grating from time to time.  However, let’s remember that our economy was doing exceptionally well during his time as president.  Our oil industry had become self-sufficient, and we weren’t buying oil from countries that hate us.  China and Russia were sitting quietly in their corners.  Peace was starting to break out in the Middle East.  America was respected.

And, of course, Congress was spending way too much money.  It seems like we just don’t have people on either side of the aisle, who never had to balance a checkbook.

So, ladies and gentlemen, as a former Member of Congress and a U.S. citizen who wants to leave this country as good or better than he found it, please, please show some leadership.  No more of those fancy speeches concluding with, “and you guys be good.”

Do something about it.  Turn off the computers and the texting.  Get the candidates out on the trail where people can meet them, and learn who they are.  We’ll have a better government if you do, and it will be much more like what George, Tom,  Ben and the boys that got together back in 1776 decided this country should be.

Please, for the sake of my children and grandchildren: don’t throw this great country away.

A few strong words to “leaders” on both sides of the aisle: stop the power game, and start playing the Patriot game.  That’s what you were elected to do!  You should be a group of people with diverse ideas, but you must respect each other.

America must come first.  Stake your lives and futures on the line, as have great soldiers, sailors, and airmen who continue to step up to defend this country. 

Audie Murphy didn’t become the most decorated soldier in World War II by sitting in his foxhole and texting messages.  He got up and got into the fight.  To him, America was number one, and he placed himself somewhere way down the list.

What’s your choice going to be?  Will God and country be number one for you?

Donald Trump’s “America First” platform empowered the nation to some of its most important days in the republic’s history.  Trump had a bond with his supporters that few presidents have ever achieved.  Whether or not he returns to office in the future, the movement he spawned is mobilized for the long run.

MAGA conservatives were dealt a setback when Democrats were allowed to steal the elections.  The system failed, and weak Republicans also failed by doing nothing when they had the power to challenge the election fraud.  It was appalling to all of us, and now we must take steps to see that this does not happen again...........To Read More....

 

Goodyear Adopts Wokeness and My Take on It!

Sarah Taylor On August 19, 2020 published this piece,  UPDATED: Goodyear employees say company's new 'zero-tolerance' policy bans 'Blue Lives Matter' and MAGA gear, saying:

A concerning training tool made its way from Goodyear's corporate headquarters in Akron, Ohio, to Topeka, Kansas, where some residents are furiously working to defund the police.   The training tool? A slide unveiling the company's new "zero-tolerance" policy against "Blue Lives Matter," MAGA Attire, and more.

What are the details?

A photo of the training slide in question has gained traction, and ended up at WIBW-TV in Topeka. The outlet reported that Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company has a serious problem with supporting the police — or even supporting the president. Acceptable notions, according to the company, include Black Lives Matter (BLM) and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride (LGBT). Unacceptable notions, however, include Blue Lives Matter, All Lives Matter, MAGA Attire, and Political Affiliated Slogans or Material.

Goodyear claims, "that the visual was not created or distributed by Goodyear corporate, nor was it part of a diversity training class."  Well, someone in a high corporate position authorized this.  So who has been fired?  If the opposite of this had occurred the media and politicians would have demanded someone's head.  And Goodyear would have delivered it. 

Andrea Widburg  takes a dim view of Goodyear's protestations, noting in her piece, "Did Goodyear say that BLM is okay in the workplace, but MAGA is not?, saying:

Goodyear scrambled to create space between itself and the slide. The following sounds like a denial but, if you read it carefully, it’s not:.....

She goes on to call their statement weasel language saying:

The weasel language begins with the paragraph claiming that “the visual in question was not created or distributed by Goodyear corporate….” (Emphasis added.) This means that, while the slide wasn’t from the home office, it is a Goodyear slide. The same paragraph then continues to describe Goodyear’s zero-tolerance policy...

The real problem according to Widburg?

Corporations are woke because, for the most part, management no longer comes from within. Instead, management consists of college grads. These graduates spent four years marinated in leftism, and they bring that leftism to corporations that then implement leftist policies that offend the bulk of the buying public. Go woke, go broke.
