The complete fantasy of climate science

January 10, 2024 By Andrea Widburg

One of the things to remember about climate change madness is that it has all the scientific validity of the flat earth theory or the ancient medical belief in humors. That is to say, it’s a sealed universe driven by self-reinforcing faith and fantasy without any serious reality attached. The last two days have brought two new examples of the delusions and outright lies that drive the climate change narrative.

On the delusion side, we have Axios’s horror that the earth is within 1.5 degrees of the global warming limit set at the Paris Climate Accords, paired with its assurance that (and I’m quoting more accurately than Claudine Gay ever would), “The climate of 2023 was the hottest seen in at least 125,000 years…” (Emphasis mine.)  There are a couple of obvious problems with that article............To Read More....

Science’s inviolability just took another hit

October 16, 2023 By Andrea Widburg

Over the years, we’ve seen that much of today’s “science” is corrupt. Climate “science” for example, is often climate cultism, with scientists retrofitting data to reach predetermined conclusions. When it came to COVID and the vaccine, profit seemed to be the main driver, along with some scary WEF theories, including some people believing that the real purpose behind the dishonest rush to force vaccines on people is tied to “transhumanism” and depopulation, both of which are values the WEF crowd promotes. Now, there’s even more evidence about the utter unreliability of modern science.

Science is not a god. It is, instead, an approach to processing and analyzing data. In a perfect world, one has a theory to which one applies a very strict methodology and, from that, achieves a reliable result. Livescience offers as good an explanation as any:........To Read More....

My Take - I commented on that post, and I think that comment is worth repeating here:

I, and a lot of friends of mine, have been writing about this since the beginning of this green neo-pagan pseudo-religious craze. The nature worshiping Druids of ancient Germania would have been on board with it, since both require human sacrifice.

The motto of science is supposed to be De Omnibus Dubitandum. "Everything is to be questioned"....and it's not. The holy grail of science is no longer truth, it's grant money, especially government grant money, and government grant money is more often than not predicated on proving preconceived notions to implement predetermined polices allowing for draconian tyrannical control over humanity, and the EPA is up to their eyeballs in that corruption.

My good friend Dr. Jay Lehr, who recently passed, and one of the founders of EPA said the EPA hasn't done anything worthwhile since 1980 and needs to be dismantled. Here's a 2011 interview with Jay I arranged for our Ohio Pest Management Association newsletter.  Jay put together a five year plan on how to  do it.  I think if Trump had been re-elected this might have gone forward as the White House called him to say the President decided to take his advice and abandon the Paris Treaty.

In my youth the Reader's Digest used to run a piece called "My most Unforgettable Character". I've had an interesting life, but Jay was the most interesting person I've met in my 77 years.  For those interested, here's my Jay Lehr file

Race Baiting is a Two Way Street

By Rich Kozlovich

On August 26, 2023 Andrea Widburg published this article, In Georgia, the lone black male defendant in the Trump case rots in jail saying:

If only Harrison Floyd’s first name were George. If only he’d been a convicted felon who passed a counterfeit bill, filled himself with illegal drugs, and resisted arrest. If that were the case, he’d have had millions of dollars flowing to him from Hollywood and Democrat politicians, and he’d have been a media hero. However, Harrison Floyd isn’t a thug of color. Instead, he’s a retired Marine vet, living with his family and getting by on his pension. And he’s also a black Trump supporter, which is why he’s rotting in a Fulton County jail.

She goes on to note all this lawfare by these corrupt Democrat prosecutors has one goal.  Bankrupt Trump supporters, and then goes on to demonstrate just how expensive this is, and notes no one is "going to volunteer their services for someone who dared to support Trump", and Harrison Ford is one of them.  A black, disabled veteran.

It's claimed this disabled veteran “yelled at, pushed and struck an agent who was serving a subpoena at his Maryland home…Floyd was charged with assaulting an FBI agent." Andrea goes on to say:  "Raise your hand if you trust the FBI’s version of events."  We need to take a very serious look at what the FBI is doing, and it's not pretty.

He's denied bail as "he's a flight risk" in spite of the fact he flew there to turn himself in.  Wow, now what could be more convincing that he's a flight risk....right? And the judge chastised him for saying he can't afford an attorney so he's representing himself to avoid placing such a financial burden on his family.

But now a fund has been created to support Floyd's defense, and "within 24 hours, that fund had met the original $100,000 goal. Now, the fund has raised the goal to $200,000.  Andrea goes on to note:

This isn’t greed. Given the Democrat goal of breaking people economically with lawfare, in a case of this magnitude, the money can easily be gone in two months.

The question arises, if he was white would this be happening?  I have no idea.  Could this effort to support him be considered reverse race baiting?  Maybe, and truthfully, I don't care if it is.  If that's what it takes to challenge all this blatantly irresponsible, and I think criminal behavior, then I'm for it.

There's one huge difference between race baiting by leftists and what's happening here.  This man isn't a thug, and he isn't a criminal.  All these riots that occurred over the killing of thugs and criminals is nothing more than real efforts at insurrection by race baiting thugs, criminals, and left wing insurrectionists attempting to destroy America, and truthfully, the demise of these black thugs and criminals has made the world a better place to live.

It’s time for Congress to rein in the federal judiciary

June 7, 2023  By Andrea Widburg

One of Governor Ron DeSantis’s most admirable initiatives as Florida governor has been to lead the movement protecting kids from people and entities sexually grooming and medically mutilating them. Having lost at the legislature, leftists promptly fled to the federal court system. And sure enough, Robert Hinkle, a Clinton appointee in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida, answered the leftist call and blocked portions of the law against medically mutilating children. His judicial overreach reminds us that an eventual Republican-led government must rein in the federal judiciary.

Briefly, Florida passed a law protecting children from so-called “gender-affirming care” achieved via toxic chemicals (sterilization, fragile bones, cancer, heart disease) and monstrous surgery. (For the latter, a very NSFW image explains what I mean.) Judge Hinkle promptly ruled as a finding of fact that “gender identity is real” and said that these “treatments” for children were too important to ban.

Florida’s battle with a judge who just nullified its law protecting children from medical mutilation perfectly exemplifies dangerous judicial overreach.........To Read More..

The dangers inherent in a potential RFK Jr. presidency

Given that Biden continues his public pre-death decomposition, while Kamala's every utterance reaffirms that she is profoundly stupid and kind of weird, it's small wonder that Democrats are turning to Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. (RFK Jr.) as a possible savior.  Moreover, given his firm anti-vax stance during the peak of COVID madness, some conservatives get a warm glow when they think about him.  However, it's important to remember that RFK Jr. willingly pals around with virulent antisemites, is an anti-vax fanatic, and is a climate change authoritarian.  He is, in other words, dangerous.

On Sunday, Jack Dorsey, who founded Twitter and then allowed it to be turned into a Deep State/Democrat party censorship machine, endorsed RFK Jr.:..........To Read More....

Luxxle: Is this the search engine conservatives have been looking for?

May 13, 2023 By Andrea Widburg

American Thinker receives hundreds of promotional emails a week. Most swiftly head to the circular file. However, last week I received an email from a woman named Molly Koweek, promising that Luxxle, her employer’s search engine, is truly revolutionary. Her email piqued my interest, so I did something I very rarely do: I set up a phone call. So far, it appears that she didn’t oversell anything; Luxxle really is something different, especially for those who are sick of seeing the major search engines ignore conservative content or give them such a low ranking that they essentially vanish. It’s still imperfect, but it’s better than the alternatives.........To Read More...

Ireland is on the verge of enacting the most draconian anti-speech law in the West

May 2, 2023 By Andrea Widburg

Ireland, a country that long chafed under England’s repressive governance, is about to become very repressive itself. It’s about to put into effect a speech bill so repressive that anyone who even receives a text that runs afoul of the law could be arrested if he does not immediately delete and disavow the text. This is where the Western world, once the bastion of intellectual liberty, has ended.

The law, entitled “Criminal Justice (Incitement to Violence or Hatred and Hate Offences) Bill 2022,” passed through the legislature in February, with only 4 representatives out of 160 voting against it. Most in the public weren’t even aware of the bill and, if they’d thought about it, they probably would have congratulated themselves on being a nice country in which “hate” speech is barred.

It was only when an Irish conservative commentator, Keith Woods, who was reinstated on Twitter thanks to Elon Musk’s commitment to free speech, that word got out:...........To Read More.....

China is not unbeatable

April 23, 2023 By Andrea Widburg

Many of us view China as an unbeatable Leviathan. It might be more accurate, though, to call it a Goliath. Despite the strength it’s projecting into all four corners of the globe, it has serious systemic weaknesses, meaning that well-aimed pressure can topple it.

Sunday is my catch-up day, which is why I only now saw a Gordon Chang article from early April addressing China’s weaknesses. Two weeks’ time, though, hasn’t made what Chang wrote stale. Instead, it’s as appropriate now as it was when it was first published.

Chang points out that, while China looks like the Borg (perfectly integrated and overwhelmingly strong), it has serious problems that the West can exploit. This means that, when Mark Milley, the quisling Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, mournfully says that there’s nothing we can do about China’s growing nuclear program, he’s just wrong. (Of course, when it comes to Milley, don’t forget that he promised to give China a heads up if Trump decided to act against it. In other words, it’s not clear where his allegiance lies).

Dutch Farmers will probably be the majority party in the Netherlands’ Parliament

March 18, 2023 By Andrea Widburg

Last year, the Dutch government announced that it would seize 30% of Dutch farms to save the climate. This year, polling shows that the newly formed Boer-Burger Beweging (BBB), the farmers’ party, will be the largest single party in Parliament. However, the nature of the parliamentary system is that they still won’t have power, as it’s likely that two leftist parties will join for a voting majority.

For a long time, I’ve said that the left is returning us to a medieval world, one in which the world is dominated by a small group of rich, all-powerful aristocrats. The remainder of the people consists of a slightly larger group of “tradespeople” (i.e., the middle class), and a huge cohort of powerless, impoverished people who live in a world of darkness and hunger.

I’ve since rethought my theory. We’re not medieval, we’re Roman. The medieval world was a Biblical world, while we have reverted to a pagan world, complete with Earth worship and an intense focus on child sexuality. Ironically, though, it’s the powerful people’s Earth worship, though, that may change Holland’s political system for the better................ To Read More..

My Take - I can't believe the Dutch are going to stand for this.   At some point I expect to see a revolution all over Europe over their insane green initiatives and immigration.  Europe's doomed, get over it.

Dutch Farmer’s Crisis: The Makings of a Famine to Come, by The Daily Wire’s Jordan Peterson interviewed international migration expert Michael Yon and Dutch independent journalist Eva Vlaardingerbroek recently to discuss the farmer’s crisis in Holland.  If you weren’t aware the Dutch farmers have been under the yoke of their purportedly conservative government’s “climate crisis” policy changes for nearly ten years........Citing environmental concerns the farmers are now being told some fifty percent of them will have to “voluntarily” sell their land, which in reality is a coercive means of grabbing the land by the government says Vlaardingerbroek.  Current Dutch policy forbids them from selling in the open market essentially leaving them one choice – to sell to the government.  This has led to massive protests by the Dutch farmers, similar to the truckers who protested Trudeau’s COVID anti-freedom vaccine demands last year that saw Trudeau freezing the bank accounts of those who protested..............As Vlaardingerbroek explains the government has repeatedly issued demands of the farmers in regard to what are and are not acceptable practices.  Long one of the most efficient farming people in the world, responsible for the largest relative agricultural output on the planet, the Dutch farmers are facing catastrophic consequences thanks to the ever shifting sands of their leader’s policy changes.  After years of bending over backwards to appease their government’s demands the farmers have reached their breaking point.............

Huge numbers of Americans say climate change is a religion - Huge numbers of Americans say that "climate change" is not science at all, but a religion.According to Rasmussen Reports, 60% of respondents, all Likely U.S. voters, agree with the statement, "Climate change has become a religion that 'actually has nothing to do with the climate' and is really about power and control." The polling found that 43% strongly agree and 17% somewhat agree. It was announced GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy who recently said climate change is a matter of faith for people, and "actually has nothing to do with the climate."

Greta Thunberg quietly deletes tweet from 5 years ago predicting only 5 years left to save us from climate apocalypse … and Tucker pounces, By Thomas Lifson - One of the more delightful aspects of being a dissident from the absurd apocalyptic climate doom cult is the ability to laugh at the decades' worth of failed, yet quite specific predictions of disaster from purported "experts" that the media have gleefully trumpeted.  The track record of the failure of previous predictions matters not in the least, as if mass amnesia had infected not just the media, but government, academia, and the corporate world..........

A counterintuitive take on the risk that China poses to the world

February 16, 2023 By Andrea Widburg

David Archibald, an Australian scientist and analyst, counterintuitively argues that China is weaker than we think. I don’t agree with everything Archibald says, both factually and theoretically, but I thought his essay is interesting enough to bring to your attention. The premise of Archibald’s claim that China is not as forbidding as Xi Jinping makes it appear is summed up in a single sentence:

“China has a lot of structural problems that make it a fragile state, a frail state and even potentially a future failed state.”

Archibald makes five major points:

One: China’s demographic games have been disastrous. Mao, who believed in big battalions, deliberately encouraged massive population growth, which peaked at about 1.4 billion. The result is that China cannot feed its population. That continues to be true despite its one-child policy that has now left China in a demographic tailspin with an aging population that a smaller, youthful population must support...............To Read More....

The left took over an important cultural institution while you weren’t looking

February 7, 2023 By Andrea Widburg

If you were raised in America, you probably grew up reading books published in the “Little Golden Books” series. It’s likely, too, that parents associate that label with trusted and wholesome products. Well, they’re probably still wholesome (no sex, obscenities, or other nasty things in these books), but recent content has taken both a shallow and a leftward turn, with the Little Golden Books starting early to turn your kids on to pop culture and to “wokify” them.

The Little Golden Books debuted in 1942 as durable, colorful children’s books that would sell for 25 cents to bring reading to the mass market. The first books set a lasting template: They were about basic education (the alphabet, objects, counting), faith (prayers), and morally or practically good behavior (The Little Red Hen). Here’s that list of the first Little Golden Books released in October 1942, all of which were huge successes:.........

In some ways, though, the saddest thing in the catalog is the cross-marketing for Hollywood. Disney had a tie-in with the Little Golden Books very early, but now it’s Disney/Pixar, the Hulk, Captain Marvel, Back to the Future, Jaws, you name it… The whole thing is just kind of tawdry.

I understand that everything changes. Europe, which froze itself in amber after WWII to make money as a tourist destination for rich Americans, shows how dangerous this kind of stagnation can be, especially because the culture stopped reproducing. Still, it’s sad to see a book series that introduced children to core ethical concepts and stories that have long underpinned the west (even if run through the Disney shop) work hard to jumpstart children’s obsession with shallow, often debasing and almost never ethically uplifting pop culture and woke concepts..............To Read More....

State That Never Had Slaves Wants $569B in Slavery Reparations

Asians, who were the most discriminated against, will foot the bill

Why not just call it a $569 billion payoff to the Democrat voting base? From “student loan forgiveness” to San Francisco’s “guaranteed income” for the 72 genders to all the environmental consulting gigs, isn’t that what 90% of the political program of Democrat officials now comes down to?.............California never had slavery. So they’re defaulting …from slavery to housing discrimination during the 1930s. Historically, California discriminated against Asians more than anyone else. And yet as a high-income group, they’re going to be stuck with much of the bill. As will Latinos. For that matter the majority of California residents were never even here back then, either they or their ancestors, yet they’re stuck with a $569 billion bill.............To Read More....

California’s reparations task force names a staggering dollar amount

By Andrea Widburg  December 2, 2022

Next year, California is facing a $25 billion budget deficit, businesses are fleeing, and the big cities are swamped with seas of drug-addled homeless people. None of that has stopped the reparations committee that Governor Gavin Newsom convened from thinking big when it comes to reparations for Blacks in that state. The current proposal envisions giving each of California’s 2.5 million self-identified Black Americans $223,200 (totaling $559 Billion) for “housing discrimination.”

California has long had a problem when it comes to the whole reparations theory: It never had slavery. It’s true that a lot of Gold Rush money went to the Confederacy, but that was never California’s official policy. How can a state virtue signal if it wasn’t a slave state? The answer, it turns out, is to point to housing discrimination:.............

We’re getting played when it comes to who’s the real 2022 winner

By Andrea Widburg

Following the dismal midterm showing, there’s a lot of blame to go around. While I can and will sum up the issue, I want to focus more narrowly on the way in which the entire Republican machine is turning from Trump, who is now anathema, to Ron DeSantis, who is the new god. Considering that we still have a long time before the primaries and then the 2024 election, this kind of decision-making is premature and dangerous—and that’s why we’re being forced into it.

Here's a short list of leading blame topics: (1) The GOP was useless; (2) American voters (especially the young ones), after 60 years of non-stop propaganda in the media, entertainment, and schools, no longer value freedom and the Constitution; (3) brainwashed women voters believe that fulfillment lies in a career and an appointment with the abortionist; and (4) Trump anointed weak candidates in pivotal elections.

Oh, and here’s what I believe is the most significant factor: mail-in ballots. In states with mail-in ballots, the Secretary of State mails ballots to every person on the registrar’s list. It’s irrelevant that many have moved, are dead, or are manifestly fraudulent (see all of Jay Valentine’s articles on the subject). At apartment buildings, you may see dozens of ballots sitting in piles in the lobby, addressed to people who long since moved away...............To Read More..

The red wave that wasn’t: An election post-mortem

Well, that was disheartening, dispiriting, and demoralizing. We went into the party with a president with some of the lowest approval ratings in history and Americans (at least according to the polls) focused like lasers on issues that could be chalked up to Democrat policy failures; namely, inflation and crime. And yet Republicans are hanging on by a thread and, as of this writing, it’s still possible that Democrats will retain their majority in the House and gain a full majority in the Senate. If that happens, the American experiment is over, and the Marxist experiment truly begins.

So, how did we get here?

In a way, the easiest answer is that our election system is completely corrupt. It’s easy to blame the GOP for letting that happen, but Mollie Hemingway reminds us that a corrupt judge and a 40-year-long consent decree meant that, beginning in 1981, “The RNC had been prohibited by law from helping with poll watcher efforts or nearly any voting-related litigation.”

That 40-year period gave the Democrats the ability to lay the groundwork for a fortress of election corruption. Then, thanks to COVID, the Democrats were able to build high walls for that fortress, walls built from mail-in ballots, drop boxes, ballot harvesting, drivers licenses for illegal aliens, no ID for actual elections, endless pre-elections and, most importantly, machines that can be gamed.........To Read More....

The Democrat demographic god that’s failing

For decades, Democrats have been certain that demographics would lead them to ultimate power. That wasn’t because they were having babies—actually, they were aborting them—but because America was becoming less White, and non-Whites were and would be forever reliable Democrat voters. Ah, hubris! It turns out that non-White people, just like White people, want a safe, clean, secure, and prosperous country, and the Democrats aren’t delivering. Surprise! Demography is not destiny.

From the day that Lyndon Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act in 1964 and reputedly said “I’ll have those ****s voting Democratic for the next 200 years,” Democrats have taken for granted the votes, not just of Blacks, but of all non-White voters. In their mind, the one-time slave-holding party was certain that it “owned” these voters.............To Read More....

Super lawyer Leslie McAdoo Gordon calls out our broken legal system

Before retiring from the law, I did litigation work in the San Francisco Bay Area for thirty years. During that time, I came across two judges whom I respected (one of whom I learned, after he retired, was a conservative). The rest of the judges were activists with robes on. At this point, I respect only two judges: Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito. Otherwise, I’ve long said our legal system is broken. Many people, including people who like me, consider me a crackpot. However, Leslie McAdoo Gordon, a stellar litigator and a true constitutionalist, ended last week with a huge announcement: The legal system is broken.

For me, the pivotal moment was when I was arguing a motion to dismiss based on the fact that state legislation absolutely precluded the plaintiff’s cause of action. I don’t remember the judge’s precise words when he denied my motion, but I remember the gist: “I don’t care what the law is; I think there’s something here.”

A judge is not supposed to say that. His job is to apply the law. And as it happened, he was so wrong that we not only won, but we also got $1.5 million in attorney’s fees. That same judge went on to serve on the California court of appeals. I appeared before other judges who clearly thought the same way although most were not as open about it...........To Read More....

Quote of the Day

We’re living through serious times with totally unserious people at the helm: They’re in the White House, Buckingham Palace (although mercifully merely symbolic there), and throughout the media. The old-time TV newsmen all leaned left, but they at least had the appearance of gravitas. This current crop is drawn from the back of the classroom and the bottom of the heap. They are ridiculous, ignorant people who risibly believe that they have both wisdom and knowledge. - Andrea Widburg

Biden is so bad, even Californians want to drop him

By Andrea Widburg  August 20, 2022

The Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies conducted a poll with a very large sample size — 9,254 registered California voters.  They asked whether voters favored or opposed Joe Biden running again for president.  Overwhelmingly, Californians said, "No more Biden."  Their response was overwhelming in part because unaffiliated voters dislike him almost as much as Republicans do.  Even Democrats were, at best, lukewarm.  What is perhaps more interesting is the people California Democrats would prefer to see run in Biden's stead.

The poll was conducted in the second week of August, with a random sampling of over 9,000 registered California voters.  The results regarding Biden were unambiguous:.........To Read More....

Tucker’s back from vacation and breathing fire about the Mar-a-Lago raid

With ironically bad timing, Tucker Carlson was on vacation last week, a week that was filled with stories and analyses about the FBI’s raid on Mar-a-Lago. Will Cain, Brian Kilmeade, and Tulsi Gabbard did a very good job substituting for him but...well, they weren’t Tucker. What that meant was that Monday night was Tucker’s first chance to comment on the raid and he didn’t disappoint. Instead, he bravely called out the unconstitutional, un-American despotism that the Biden administration has shown since the moment Biden took that oath to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution.

The monologue began with Tucker noting that the Democrat party mouthpieces in the media kept offering new theories about the basis for the search as the old ones collapsed before actual logic. Tucker carefully explained how ridiculous each excuse was. I would have liked Tucker to have mentioned Trump’s plenary power to declassify documents, but it turned out that Tucker was saving his air time for something more important.

What Tucker did was something brave, important, and necessary: He called out the Biden administration’s open, illegal, and unconstitutional war against, not only Trump but anyone connected with Trump. Giving extra power to that narrative, Tucker brought the receipts, reciting chapter and verse about the way in which Trump’s lawyers, colleagues, and employees have been harassed, humiliated, and persecuted through the Department of “Justice.”......To Read More, and See the Video....highly recommended!!!!!!

My Take - I don't watch Fox News any longer, and haven't done so for some time, and for me that was the last holdout as a viewing news source, so I only see Tucker Carlson, Hannity, Jeanine Pirro and Laura Ingraham, who I met and found impressive, if their show is linked in some article.  I dumped the rest of them much earlier.

In years past I wasn't big on Tucker Carlson, but he's become quite impressive the last few years, even though occasionally I don't agree with is views,    I am a big fan of Andrea Widburg, but I'm not a big fan of video news, which is why I so rarely run them, and I'm guessing she's not either based on the number of her articles I've read.  However, sometimes they're better than written pieces.  This is one of those times.

A shocking video shows how racialized America has become

I have no idea where the video came from, but I think it's worth noting because it seems to show that the Democrat party has so successfully racialized America in the last 15 years or so that we are beginning to live out Charles Manson's "Helter Skelter" madness.  Manson's dream was to destroy society, so it's up to us to recognize what's going on and fight back against this almost apocalyptic racial division.

The video is a simple one: Someone inside a busy urban venue (it seems like a coffee shop) is filming a brutal beatdown on the street outside.  Two young Black men are attacking an older White man.  We don't know why the fight is happening or how long it's been going on.  It's simply a violent two-on-one beat-down.  The people inside the venue, near the person filming, seem to be watching with interest but no concern.  That two young men are beating an older man is apparently a "whatever" emotionally.

And then, as the men vanish behind a poster on the venue wall, you suddenly hear the people inside gasp, cry out, and otherwise sound like people in serious distress.  At that moment, the two Black men who were involved in the fight start scrambling away, and we see why: the White man has pulled a gun on them.  He's not shooting or waving it wildly; he's simply holding it steadily, forcing them to back up.  Eventually, they vanish from view as the older man stands with the gun still at the ready, ensuring that the men who attacked him are no longer in his orbit.

And that's the end of this otherwise context-free video:..........To Read More....
