McCarthy is Done and Now, the Real Story Begins, Part VI

Well, here we are, Part VI, and I thought this was all done by Part IV.  At this point Steve Scalise has dropped out entirely and Jim Jordan has been chosen as the Republican nominee.  There were news reports there was a big blow up between Scalise and Jordan, which appears to have been false, and my guess that was an effort to smear Jordan.  

Now Jordan has to consolidate his nomination with 217 votes.   House Majority Whip Tom Emmer wants to consolidate support for Jordan, but would consider running only if Jordan can't get the necessary votes, and and it's looking like another battle. 

There are interesting side bars playing out here.   

McCarthy is now working to "clear the way for Jordan since he won the nomination on Friday, too, formally endorsing him and making calls on his behalf for the Judiciary Committee chairman to take his old gig."   McCarthy has predicted confidently that Jordan will be able to consolidate the requisite 217 votes after members cool down over the weekend and spend time with their constituents and family members."

On the other hand,  according to J.D Rucker, "RINOs Like John Rutherford Will Go Against Trump and the American People to Spite Matt Gaetz" quoting Rutherford aying:

"I'm a no on allowing Matt Gaetz and the other seven to win by putting their individual in as speaker."

His ilk all hate Gaetz and are still wanting McCarthy to be returned to the Speaker's chair.  So, since they're a minority in the party, are they now rebels who need to be kicked out of the caucus and primaried?  That's what was said about the Heroic Eight who voted against McCarthy.  Well, Rucker surely thinks so saying:

Any GOP member of Congress who is against Jim Jordan, Donald Trump, and the American people must be censured by their district’s party and primaried next year. Their allegiance is to McCarthy and the Swamp, not America.

The emerging speculations over all this are amazing.  What if the Republican can't get together?  Is it possible the McCarthy wing can rig a deal with the Democrats and get him re-elected as Speaker.  I don't think so because that would make the Democrats look like fools, after all, they initially, via Nancy Pelosi, swore they'd support him, and then stabbed him in the back. And McCarthy was shocked, shocked I tell you.  Imagine that.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries offered " to enter into a bipartisan coalition to run the House of Representatives", which I thought was hilarious yesterday.  I'm not so sure it's all that funny today.

The fact is, they want one of their own as Speaker,  and if Republicans can't get their act together,  America may get a Democrat Speaker, with a Republican House majority. If that happened, all Chairmen of all the House Committees would be taken over by Democrats, and all those investigations would disappear like the morning fog in sunlight.  If you doubt that could happen, take this issue in the Texas legislature as an example of what happens where the Speaker works against the majority. 

Real conservatives despise Democrat rule, but one thing everyone has to acknowledge, they know how to rule, and they rule with an iron fist allowing no dissension in the ranks.  For Democrats, that's not hard because they're all leftist lunatics who all have the same totalitarian vision of high taxes, big spending, big government and massive and intrusive regulations allowing them to control every aspect of our lives.

The Republican party has no shared vision.  While legitimate conservatives have a shared vision, the so-called moderates by their fence sitting nature can't define a vision, and the leftist might as well be Democrats for their vision of high taxes, big spending and big government.  The party is incapable of property defining what it stands for.  As a result they lack clarity, and without clarity they are incapable of a uniform vision in any form.

Again, there's reason Republicans are called the "stupid party" and the "useless party".  They earned it.

McCarthy is Done and Now, the Real Story Begins, Part V

So far I've published four pieces on this, Part I,  Part II, Part III, and Part IV.  When I finished Part IV I was confident there would be no Part V because Steve Scalise looked like he'd be their pick. He has an impressive record, and as far as can tell, he's well liked among Republicans, and is in no way as divisive as McCarthy.   

Well, now, here we have Par V, and there may even be a Part VI, and more.  As I'm watching this unfold I couldn't help but think about Obama saying you can never underestimate Joe Biden's ability to screw things up!  Well, chuckling, rolling my eyes, and shaking my head:  Never overestimate the Republicans ability to get things done.

Initially Scalise won the nomination with 113 votes, but even though Jim Jordan ended up supporting Scalise, he received 99 votes, and it appears there are too many, surprisingly, too many "never Scalise" members.  By Thursday, it was made clear he couldn't win a floor vote, so, according to Rebecca Downs it appears Steve Scalise is dropping out of the speakers race saying:

"It’s been quite a journey. And there’s still a long way to go. I just share with my colleagues that I’m withdrawing my name as a candidate for the speaker designee,"....... "This country is counting on us to come back together. This House of Representatives needs a Speaker and we need to open up the house again. But clearly, not everybody is there. And there’s still schisms that have to get resolved."

Now it's being reported Republicans will meet today at 10:00 AM to discuss what to do, and it appears Jordan is back in the race, but it also seems clear there will be no vote this week. There's a reason why the Republicans are called the "stupid party", and the "worthless party".  They earned it.

It's the Governance Stupid!

I discussed in Part I how all this talk about dumping McCarthy would create chaos was a load of horsepucky, and why.  Then Part II dealt with all the actual chaos that was created by these McCarthyite and McConnell CINO's (Conservative in Name Only).  I think Part III was especially good as I think I clearly established all the rants against Gaetz were immaterial logical fallacies and none of what was said abrogated the facts regarding the charges against McCarthy.  McCarthy's actions were the issue, not anything else. If Gaetz lied about what McCarthy did or didn't, then they should have exposed him, they didn't.  McCarthy was guilty as charged.  That was the issue, and everything else was a red herring fallacy.  

 

As a result its been posited Rep. Gaetz might lose his seat in Congress in the next election over this.  Make no mistake, the CINO leadership is going to do all it can to dislodge him. His reaction?  If he loses his seat, the that's okay because ousting McCarthy is ‘absolutely’ worth it. 

 

While those eight Republican heroes who voted to oust McCarthy are being called rebels, they view McCarthy and his ilk as the rebels.  After all what else would you call those who ignore the Constitution, and violate the trust of the base with their twisted agenda. 

Promises matter by John Green says:

The lesson is that in a system which depends on good-faith negotiations, integrity is important, and promises matter. When men working within that system lack honor, agreements aren’t agreements, and deals aren’t deals. Without honor, the system can’t work -- and hasn’t been working for many years.

McCarthy learned the hard way about Democrat promises, which I think is remarkably telling.  Nancy lied to him!  He was shocked, shocked I tell you. 

 

How could he have been in Washington all these years, and in leadership roles and not know the Democrats lie....a lot.... because they have no stable moral foundations, and they will never let hypocrisy stand in their way. 

 

 Now we're seeing a new battle emerge for Speaker.   There were two top contenders, Jim Jordan and Steve Scalise, both far more conservative than McCarthy.  As for talk McCarthyites were going to bring him back ...well..... the beauty of America is you can dream any dream you like, but the rest of the world doesn't have to share it, and even after saying he wouldn't run again, he backtracked saying if they wanted him he would graciously accept.  Now that's dreaming.  

Top conservative leaders in the House and Trump endorsed Jim Jordan for Speaker, but now Jordan says he will vote for Scalise, and they wisely told Fox News they wouldn't have a public debate over this as it was an in-house Republican issue, to be dealt with in-house. Have no doubt, Fox would have worked to make them look like a dysfunctional family and incompetent legislators. 

 

So, with Jordan supporting Steve Scalise, who has an impressive record, who faced an attempted assassination, and is now fighting cancer.  I think he feels if his life is going to be cut short, he wants to make sure he leaves something behind that is meaningful.   

 

So, now he's the Republican choice, and he actually wants the job as I don't think Jordan really wanted it.  He's the hard driving debater type who loves going after the left, loves showing his knowledge, intellect, and logic to defeat them, and if Speaker, he'd have to give that up.  The truth is, both Jordan and Scalise are strong conservatives, unlike McCarthy. However, there are problems.  

 

There are at least twenty House Republican who say they won't vote for him.  So, using the logic used against the Heroic Eight, are they "rebels"!  And will all those who railed against the Heroic Eight call them out as "rebels"?  How about those 45 CINO's who sent a letter condemning Gaetz?  Since there are 221 Republicans in the House, and only 45 signed that letter, that means 176 didn't agree.  So, are they "an arrogant minority" and "rebels" also?   Will Gaetz's detractors call them out for that?

 

Of course the Democrats are going to put up their own candidate, but they know they will lose, but even so, they're willing to be gracious, and have offered to enter into a bipartisan coalition to run the House.

 "House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that Democrats were ready to enter into a bipartisan agreement to run the House of Representatives........... “To the extent that my Republican colleagues are unable to resolve the ongoing Republican civil war, we’ve made clear as Democrats that we are ready, willing and able to find common ground, to enter into a bipartisan path forward. So, we could govern the House in an enlightened fashion that ensures that bipartisan priorities that have significant support from Democrats and Republicans in the House can receive an up or down vote. So that we could move forward and get things done for the American people as opposed to allowing the extremists within the House Republican conference to continue to dominate the agenda.”

Our Democracy is in Danger

I always laughed when I heard Nancy Pelosi claim the Republicans are endangering "our democracy".  The Democrats in Congress spout that as if they have a clue as to what that means. Well, definition leads to clarity, so here's a dose of clarity. 

Jim Jordan blasted the January 6th Congressional Select Committee Chairman for claiming there was so much "misinformation" (I'm assuming about the events of January 6th) that it was a danger to "our democracy".  Well, that didn't sit well with Jim Jordan, as he outlined the real misinformation and who's responsible for it, and who is the real danger to the nation's democracy, and I'm going to do some paraphrasing from this point on, but watch the video for yourself to see if I'm off base.

He states it was the Democrats who closed the Capitol, allowed proxy voting, kicked Republicans off committees, and prevented them from serving on committees, such as this one, which was the first time in the history of the Congress when the Minority Leader was not allowed to pick who he wanted on a committee.  That was the first time in the history of this nation.  

Who's endangering "our Democracy"?

Democrats are trying to end the Electorate College, trying to end the filibuster, trying to pack the court, and this Select committee is presenting false information to the American public claiming it's true.  A political committee with the goal of preventing Donald Trump from running in 2024.  While causing border chaos, destroying our energy production causing gas prices as high as six dollars a gallon, and they're directly responsible for the crime wave that's at record levels in every major urban area of the nation, all run by Democrats, and inflation that's at a 40 year high.  

Who's endangering "our Democracy"? 

If they don't use the term misinformation, then it's false message.  Think about all the false messages the nation has received from the Democrats.  Here are the false messages and the originators of those messages.  

They claimed the protests that destroyed billions of dollar of property were peaceful. That was a lie that was obvious to the most casual observer, but like all criminals, they never gave up the con.   They claimed the Steele dossier was real. It wasn't. They claimed it was the Republicans who wanted to defund the police.  Yet it was cities in total Democrat control that passed laws to defund the police and they claimed the FBI didn't spy on the campaign. That also was an outright lie. They claimed there was collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.  After spending 30 million dollars it turned out to be false.  They claimed Covid 19 didn't start in a lab, but that's clearly a lie, and they claimed the Wuhan lab wasn't funded by the U.S. for gain of function research.  That absolutely was a lie, and one Fauci may go to jail over.   They imposed vaccination mandates claiming those who are vaccinated can't get the virus and those vaccinated couldn't transmit the virus.  All that was wrong.  

And who exactly was it that sicced the FBI on parents protesting the actions of school boards around the nation, and labeled them "domestic terrorists"? 

So, who's endangering "our Democracy"?

Now this one is going to come back to haunt them big time.  

They insisted the Hunter Biden laptop was Russian disinformation.   Biden claimed there was nothing unethical about his son's business dealings. And that his son didn't make money with companies that had interests with China.  All lies.  All lies over which the information big tech, big media and Democrats all colluded over to keep the truth from America.  And those lies were  supported by 51 former intelligence officials in this collusion. 

Here's the timeline of truth.  According to these self-righteous paragons of the leftist media and elite: Eighteen months ago it wasn't his laptop.  Then it was his laptop but it was Russian information.  Then .....well....yeah....it was his laptop and it wasn't Russian information  after all.  But Joe Biden had nothing to do with it.  Now the meme is that Joe knew about it but wasn't involved in anything wrong.  

How long before that misinformation and false messaging falls apart?

That's "their Democracy, not "our" Democracy, that's in danger.  So when they say "Our Democracy" is in danger, they're right, and "their Democracy" should not only be danger, it should be crushed, and a lot of people put in jail who deserve to be in jail, in order to save "our" Republic.  

Here's a sample of "their Democracy".  Every House Democrat Voted AGAINST Stopping the Government ‘Monitoring And Prosecuting’ Unvaccinated Americans. The left want the unvaccinated treated as domestic terrorists, while knowingly allow criminals, drug dealers and now we know, terrorists to enter the nation, without restraint, and even giving them aid and shipping them all over the nation, making them almost untraceable, and releasing violent criminals and terrorists from prison and into society.  All of whom will act like wolves in a herd of sheep, and then prosecute anyone who defends themself.   

Okay, let's see a show of hands of those who really don't like "their Democracy".

Jordan aptly noted how First Amendment rights and a slew of others have been curtailed for over a year.
