CLIMATE CHANGE … Is it or isn’t it? 

On August 13, 2023, the non-profit, non-partisan Global Climate Intelligence Group, based in The Netherlands, issued a “World Climate Declaration.” Signed by 1,609 distinguished dignitaries, the declaration states that “there is no climate emergency.” It goes on to suggest that the energy and passion alarmists are putting towards preventing climate change (in other words, to prevent Mother Nature from doing her thing) would be better spent understanding and adapting to climate change.

Who are these 1,609 people who signed the declaration? In The Heartland Institute “World Climate Declaration: There is No Climate Emergency” Joseph A. Morris writes: Most of the signatories are scientists, including Nobel prize-winners in physics, whose credentials reasonably relate to client science.

Among the signatories, by the way, are several who are affiliated with The Heartland Institute, of which I’m Chairman. They include Charles G. Battig, H. Sterling Burnett (the Director of Heartland’s Arthur B. Robinson Center on Climate and Environmental Policy), Steven Milloy (a member of Heartland’s Board of Directors), Walter Starck, Arthur Viterito, and the late Jay Lehr.

A few of the signatories are non-scientists of distinction, who have spoken or taken significant action relating to environmental affairs. They included Vaclav Klaus, the former President of the Czech Republic, and Alex Kozinski, a retired Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

But what if these 1,609 experts are wrong? Consider the following: The Arctic Ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places the seals are finding the water too hot according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday from Consulate at Bergen Norway . Reports from fishermen, seal hunters and explorers all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic zone.

Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met as far north as 81 degrees 29 minutes. Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the gulf stream still very warm. Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many points well known glaciers have entirely disappeared.

Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic, while vast shoals of herring and smelts which have never before ventured so far north, are being encountered in the old seal fishing grounds.

Within a few years it is predicted that due to the ice melt the sea will rise and make most coast cities uninhabitable.

Oops—this was reported by the Associated Press and published in The Washington Post November 2, 1922! (Guess all those Model Ts were destroying the ozone layer.)

REP. KEN BUCK: Bucking Republicans

El Paso County (Colorado) GOP Vice Chairman Todd Watkins sent an August 21 email re the attacks on Trump and his supporters. He wrote that no matter how anyone feels about President Trump or the events of January 6, 2021: “It is impossible to deny the facts that many Americans have been grossly mistreated and abused by our legal system.”

Colorado Republican Representative Ken Buck is denying the facts. Buck wrote a detailed retort, basically what you would hear on MSNBC. In fact, that’s where Buck discussed the situation. On September 10, he was a guest on MSNBC’s Inside with Jen Psaki. MSNBC is where Republicans go to dump on America First Patriots.

Yes, there were some January 6 participants who crossed the line and should be punished, but does their punishment fit the crime? Consider the sentences handed down in Democrat controlled cities for violent felons who commit murder and rape to those of January 6 participants who merely walked into the U.S. Capitol, passing U.S. Capitol police officers who said nothing and did nothing to stop them. It’s reported that some U.S. Capitol police even held the door open for them!

Buck was also NOT in favor of an impeachment inquiry on Joe “Big Guy” Biden. Then on September 12 he went on NBC News and said that he is now for the impeachment inquiry. First, Buck yaks on MSNBC and then on NBC; he must love the peacock network.

Islamic terrorists attacked our nation in three places: Pentagon in D.C., Pennsylvania, and New York. However, the fall of the Twin Towers in New York City was the epicenter for September 11. That is where primary memorial ceremonies are held, and presidents pay their respects. But Joey’s people said (paraphrase), “Come on, man. It’s been 22 years! Did they go to Pearl Harbor 22 years after the attack?”

The White House implied that it’s been 22 years since the Islamic terrorist attack and that after a while Americans pulled back on remembering the 1941 Japanese attack on Hawaii. Oh really? On June 9, 1963, 22 years after Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese, President John F. Kennedy, paid his respects. Past tweet from the JFK Library in Boston, Massachusetts on Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day: Today the country marks the anniversary of the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor. In 1963, President Kennedy visited the USS Arizona Memorial and laid a wreath for those who perished in the surprise attack.

FOR THE LOVE OF POLITICS!

On the REPUBLICAN side, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said he will be stalking President Trump to get him onto a debate stage. Christie, who is foaming at the mouth to attack Trump directly, probably figures he has nothing to lose. Except a few pounds running around the country making an ass out of himself. Christie told Howie Kurtz on Fox News: “…If he doesn’t do any of the debates, Howie, we’re going to give him another chance. I’m sure he’s not coming to the Reagan debate. We’ll give him another chance in Alabama. But if he doesn’t come there, then I’m going to follow him around the country. Wherever he goes, I’ll go. And we’ll wind up talking to each other one way or the other.”

On the THIRD-PARTY side, When someone is promoting their book, you sometimes wonder if their comments are solely to increase sales. Former 2020 Democrat presidential candidate and former Democrat Andrew Yang is out and about promoting his new novel, “The Last Election.” In interviews, Yang shares that some people at No Labels have approached him as a possible candidate. Yang told Politico:

"I’ve had conversations with various folks who are associated with No Labels.”

On the DEMOCRAT side, as bad as Joey is with his dementia issues, Kamala is worse with her cackling. But Harris is (check) a woman and (check) of color. What to do?!

Meanwhile, crowds for Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. are growing larger. Per RFK as reported on C-SPAN: 

“We are getting [large] crowds in South Carolina and New Hampshire and other states. I talked to crowds yesterday with almost 750 people the day before yesterday at a farm in New Hampshire. We had about 650 at Winthrop College the day before. The crowds we are getting are comparable to what Bernie Sanders and Barack Obama were getting during the late primaries. We are very happy and our polling shows us, our internal polls show that we are doing well in those states.”

BILL MAHER RETURNING: Striking writers upset

Are you distressed that due to the ongoing writers’ strike your favorite late-night hosts (Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers, and John Oliver) are unable to come on stage each evening and dump on Donald Trump, America, people of faith, two genders, and most everything Patriots hold near and dear? Bill Maher, host of the popular HBO Real Time with Bill Maher announced last week that he is bringing his show back without monologues and other segments that require writers. (Maher is also one of his show’s writers.)

His first new writers’ strike show will be on Friday, September 22. Sometimes Maher says things that Conservatives applaud, but as Maher frequently points out, he is a LIBERAL but not a crazed progressive wokester. It might be a thin line separating the two, but he eagerly shares the differences and often calls out hypocrites on both sides.

ARE WE NOW A COMMUNIST NATION?

Some recent events that make us wonder if the republic can be saved.

• In tyrannical societies, the masses struggle for necessities and decent schools while those in the politburo manage just fine. Is it much different in America? For example, in 2018, Chicago Teachers Union President Stacy Davis Gates tweeted that private schools were “segregation academies.” Hmmm, yet when it came time to send her son Kevin to school, she enrolled him in a private Catholic school. Gates’ two younger children attended public school, but she wanted the CHOICE to send Kevin to a private school that best fit his soccer needs. The key word here is CHOICE.

On September 5, just a few days before Americans remembered the Islamic September 11 attack, New York Mayor Eric Adams announced a change to New York Police Department rules. On Friday, mosques can now broadcast the Muslim call to prayer without needing a permit. Adams tried to make it appear as if this change was for all religions. However, the Jewish sabbath starts at sundown Friday, and they do not call people to prayer. Christians who might want their joyous church bells to ring for their Sunday sabbath are excluded from this non-permit change that is focused solely on Friday. The article below shares the English version of the Arabic call to worship chant that will now be heard on loudspeakers in many parts of New York City.

OR IS THE TIDE TURNING TO FREEDOM?

With our prayers and involvement, we must have hope of saving our republic. Let’s look at some recent wins that show the tide might be turning in the direction of Conservative Judeo-Christian values. However, we need Republican LEADERSHIP, which seems to be in short supply:

• The fact the two incidents below occurred in CALIFORNIA is why they are in this column. As a reminder, Orange County was once the most conservative county in the United States. As more Conservatives and Republicans leave California for red states, progressives move in.
• On September 6, the Huntington Beach City Council voted 4:3 to ban universal mask and COVID-19 vaccine mandates in the city.
• On September 7, the (city of) Orange Unified School District voted 4:3 that if a child under 12 years of age requests to use a different name or pronouns different from their biological sex, their parent is to be notified. If the student is 12 or older, it will be up to the school counselor or psychologist to decide if it is appropriate to inform the family.
• Democrat New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham issued an “emergency” order on September 7 banning the carrying of firearms in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Grisham views the U.S. Constitution as a fluid document that can be ignored at her discretion. Perhaps the tide is turning because even some liberals attacked the governor for issuing this order. •  Even New Mexico’s Democrat Attorney General Raul Torrez said he would NOT defend the governor related to her 30-day ban. In his official September 12 letter to Governor Grisham, Torrez wrote:

“I do not believe that the Emergency Order will have any meaningful impact on public safety … I do not believe it passes constitutional muster.”

• Then as even more proof we still have a U.S. Constitution, on September 13, Federal Judge David Urias issued a temporary order blocking Comrade Grisham’s self-declared “health emergency.” There will be a full hearing in three weeks, but it appears we can predict the outcome.
• U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen ruled last week in agreement that Texas and eight other states that had sued to stop the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). This now puts the case on appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.

BARBIE KEN MEET ROCIO & MIGUEL, Tom Budds—Tennessee

I recently went to see the new movie/docudrama, “Sound of Freedom” during which I had a déjà vu moment. I personally led investigations into sex slavery while heading a Major Crimes Squad for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department 1985-99. I couldn’t help but compare the making and the messages of the two movies—“Sound of Freedom” and “Barbie”—released within weeks of each other.

My team investigated transnational crime groups as well as many ransom kidnapping cases, all victims safely rescued, I might add. One of our cases was very similar to the set of facts depicted in this movie. Our case became part of a book documenting sex slavery cases titled “Slave Girls,” written by English author Wesley Clarkson who I permitted to briefly imbed with my crew. One scene in the movie brought that 1995 slavery case fast-forward to 2023!

In the movie, highly motivated investigators sought to rescue children and a group of “girls” kidnapped and sold into sex slavery throughout the world. The movie focused on two children, a brother and sister, named Miguel and Rocio. The investigators were being thwarted at every turn until a key scene between the investigator and his boss. As the camera zooms-in on the characters the reluctant boss, is asked with deep emotion, “What if it were your daughter?”

In 1995, my team rescued seven young girls from Thailand being held as sex slaves in a residential house in Rosemead, California; we arrested several suspects. That night, following medical examination of the girls, I immediately began trying to arrange for their safe housing for the duration of the legal process. I also had a representative of the Royal Thai Consulate respond to our location to help with housing and translation.

I called professional acquaintance Hollywood based Attorney Gloria Allred a self-professed women’s’ advocate. She offered good luck, but it seemed the case wasn’t noteworthy enough. I called Catholic Charities explaining the case details. Their representative called me back a half hour later saying she couldn’t help. She explained that the women she spoke with in the participating households said, “they did not want “these type women” in their houses especially “around their husbands”. I told the woman, “What if it were your daughter, or their daughter!” What if your daughter went overseas for employment and was forced into sex slavery. Wouldn’t you and these other women expect rescue and Christian households to embrace their loved ones?” 

As I ended the call, in disgust, I was informed by a Thai speaking U.S. Customs Agent who often worked with my team that the consulate representative had been berating the rescued girls (enslaved victims) for “having embarrassed” Thailand by their behavior. I warned the man about “dissuading witnesses” threatening to complain to the Royal Prince who I once met on a security detail when he visited Los Angeles. This seemed to get his attention; he was able to secure safe housing for the victimized girls at consulate expense.

Sex slavery has existed over the millennia but in the USA, it seems to have gotten worse in the last three decades as so many parents seem to often make choices that facilitate child sexualization. In our Rosemead case, we had the district attorney file rape counts for each sexual encounter that was documented in the “John” book. These multiple counts of rape against each defendant and upon conviction good judges sentenced these slave masters to Life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. We broadcast these sentences widely throughout the community and the slavery all but stopped; the accountability price was too high to pay.

What a difference 28 years makes! Sound of Freedom documenting real sex slavery occurring right now couldn’t get funding and was “thwarted” for five years. The daily rape of boys and girls didn’t seem to touch the hearts of financiers, in fact, the movie was broadly discouraged with minimal distribution. The movie has gained some pretty good success but what about the effort behind its success? Support for the movie had to be championed from the pulpits of Christian churches across the nation. Unfortunately, it took a grass roots effort to pull at Christian heartstrings and bring about peer, or “pew” pressure. If you are interested in a movie with a strong moral message, real life consequences, and a call-to-action, Sound of Freedom is the movie to see.

In contrast, Barbie had no grass roots effort as it recently surpassed $1 billion in revenue, in a celebration of self-indulgence and viewed by many of the same Christians that saw what happened to Rocio and Miguel. Isn’t it just like “today’s” Disney management to end the story with Barbie left on her own in pursuit of finding out who she really is? Thus, it leaves the door open for Barbie to stare into a bowl of alphabet gender soup becoming her own god of self-creation in the sequel.

While the self-absorbing behaviors of Barbie and Ken have brought millions of American Christians to the movies, The sex enslavement of real children, Miguel, and Rocio, required a peer pressure effort from the pulpits. There is no irony in the fact that the behaviors in either movie are not to be encouraged. The instant gratification demanded by social media mechanisms feed the indifference towards the consequential destruction of real lives.

What has happened to all those American voices that cried, when a woman says no, it means, no, “No means no!” America seems very silent concerning the sexual and physical assault on its children. From Jesus’ mouth to our ears, it’s better that you drown yourself than harm one of His children. Until that day of reckoning, the nation must demand that all levels of its enforcement apparatus defend our children beginning with local District Attorneys, Federal prosecutors, and strong judges; Inaction is to abet!

Empires end when the welfare of its children isn’t prized. That being the case, America surely seems to be crumbling before our very eyes, a spiritual process only stopped by the grace of God. We all must pray, then act according to scripture in the realization that faith is a verb. Let’s Roll!

CONTINUING RESOLUTION FIGHT IS COMING

A big Republican fight appears to be on the horizon regarding the Continuing Resolution. Democrats and RINOs want a “clean” resolution. That means, giving the government more money without making any conditions for the money. That’s like giving your children an allowance without asking them to tidy their room, mow the lawn and put away the dishes. Just give them money … more money … then even more money.

The House Freedom Caucus shouts NO! They rightfully want amendments added that will reduce spending and close the border, among their key issues.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, a presidential candidate, is working behind the scenes to support the House Freedom Caucus. DeSantis knows how the House works because he served three terms and is a founding member of the House Freedom Caucus.

DeSantis campaign spokesperson Andrew Romeo said:

“Ron DeSantis knows that both parties — including the current and previous administration — are to blame for Washington’s reckless spending spree. He is urging congressional Republicans to hold the line in this current spending standoff and end days of rubber stamping multi-trillion dollar spending bills that harm the American people.”

Americans will hear threats of Armageddon if the government partly shuts down for even a few weeks. If Democrats and RINOs want to talk about Armageddon, they should go to the southern border where the United States is being invaded by ILLEGAL ALIENS!

Patriots, we must let our Representatives know that we want conditions to the continuing resolution that focus on securing the southern border, reducing spending, supporting border patrol, halting the illegal alien invasion, stopping the two-tier justice system, weaponization of DOJ and FBI, need for energy dependence, to name a few.

TEXAS: KEN PAXTON ACQUITTED! 

When will Texas RINOs (aka Bush Republicans) learn that they are as welcomed as a ham sandwich at a bar mitzvah? The House RINOs pushed through the impeachment of Ken Paxton, one our nation’s best attorney generals, and he was acquitted on ALL charges. Every. Single. Charge!!! Y’all in Texas need to find real Republicans to replace Senator Kelly Hancock, who voted straight line Democrat, and Senator Robert Nicholas, who voted almost straight Democrat. What is that all about?

LAUGH, CRY OR SAY AMEN

Joe Biden has always been a LIAR and now that his mind is fogged by dementia, he doesn’t even realize he is lying. On September 11, in ALASKA, Biden talked about what he witnessed when he went to the site of the Twin Towers on September 12, 2001. LIE! The truth (on video) is that Senator Joey was in Congress, lying in the well of the U.S. Senate. If you think the Marxist media points out Joe Biden LIES, we will take you on a tour of the World Trade Center.

1. Biden being told by his staff that he’s going to New Dehli: That’s great! I would love a pastrami sandwich.

4. My doctor keeps telling me to get in shape. Well, round is a shape.
5. If you’re going to do something tonight you’ll be sorry for tomorrow morning, sleep late.
6. As I’ve gotten older, people think I’ve become lazy. The truth is I’m just being more energy-efficient.
7. Did you know that one out of three Biden supporters are just as stupid as the other two?
8. If you eat today, thank a farmer. If it’s on your table, thank a trucker. If you eat in peace, thank a veteran. If you can’t afford to eat, thank Joe Biden.  Teacher: Let’s discuss what makes the United States unique. Student: When charged with a crime, a person is considered innocent until proven Republican.
9. If your dogs take up all the space on your bed, ring your doorbell right before you want to go to sleep.
10. Doctor: Listen to your body more. Patient: My body says it’s old and wants lasagna.
11. Either my cooking has improved or my family’s immune system has strengthened.
12. Florida has had 119 hurricanes since 1850 but the last one was due to climate change.
13. Some people wait their entire life for their ship to come in not realizing they are standing in an airport.
