Engineering Mosquitoes’ Genes to Resist Malaria

A female anopheles stephensi mosquito, a species predominant in Asia that spreads malaria.
CreditDavid Scharf/Science Source
In a basement on the Irvine campus of the University of California, behind a series of five protective doors, two teams of biologists have created a novel breed of mosquito that they hope will help eradicate malaria from the world. The mosquito has been engineered to carry two ingenious genetic modifications. One is a set of genes that spew out antibodies to the malarial parasite harbored by the mosquito. Mosquitoes with these genes are rendered resistant to the parasite and so cannot spread malaria.......The other modification is a set of genetic elements known as a gene drive that should propel the malaria-resistance genes throughout a natural mosquito population. When a malaria-resistant male mosquito mates with a wild female, the gene drive copies both itself and the resistance genes over from the male chromosome to its female counterpart........Kevin Esvelt, an expert on the gene drive technique at Harvard, said he was delighted with the work of the two teams. “We have a wonderful chance of knocking down malaria and dengue fever and other diseases, so hats off to Tony James, who has been developing these techniques for 15 years,”.......To Read More....

My Take - This has very real potential, and if you have a heart you must hope this will come into being soon - and work - saving untold millions of lives and preventing hundreds of millions from being sickened. However - let's try and keep this in mind. The greenies will be as much against this as they are DDT because this is a genetically modified organism, to which they are universally and unilaterally opposed. There will some hemming and hawing, but no matter what they may say on the surface - underneath they will hate it. Furthermore, if this works it will not end the DDT argument. We must understand that! Why? Because DDT is foundational to everything the greenies have in way of influence and money. That argument must - and will - always be fought. If it isn't DDT, it's carbamates, organophosphates, neonicotinoids and any other pesticide category on the market. DDT gave them an illegitimate credibility they will never abandon. We must not abandon our support for DDT even if it's no longer necessary to save lives, otherwise they win an argument that will resonate in other environmental arenas. They lied and people died - that's the real story - that's the story that must be repeated. We must win the battle of emotion as well as the battle of facts in order to win the war to protect humanity against these misanthropes.

Quote of the Day

It's sad that so many refused to take Obama seriously when he promised to fundamentally transform America.

It's inexcusable that the media and so many naive voters believed that his radical past and his ongoing affiliation with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright's racist church were irrelevant.

It's disgraceful that a man who pledged to unite America on race, gender and income groups has intentionally polarized us to a point not seen since the 1960s.

It's contemptible that he has used his office to alienate citizens from law enforcement officials throughout the nation.

It's abominable that he is systematically dismantling our defense capabilities and approaching foreign policy as if his actions and inactions had no more consequences than a chalkboard exercise by a clique of airheaded leftist professors in their faculty lounge. - David Limbaugh

Quote of the Day!

In my view the meanderings of a Chamberlain, the malaise of a Carter, and the utter incompetence of an Obama cannot be avoided. In their mistakes and bumblings the fools enable the rest of us to gain clarity on the problem we face, and to develop the resolution to do something about it. We are humans; we make mistakes, we learn from them, and the worst human mistakes are usually connected with government. Usually the ruling class starts to wake up to its follies in the months before the Churchill or the Reagan takes over. Britain did start to rearm in the late 1930s. It was Carter that started the “Reagan” defense buildup after the Soviets went into Afghanistan, and appointed Paul Volcker as Chairman of the Fed as inflation raged. This time the bumbler-in-chief can’t even be bothered to rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic. - Christopher Chantrill

The Left is Insane! There Can Be No Other Explanation!

By Rich Kozlovich

This series of articles are meant to drive home this one incontrovertible fact - everything the left promotes and implements are irrational, misanthropic and morally defective – a reality that's hidden by seemingly humanitarian rhetoric.  The left keeps changing itself into an angel of light, but the proof of who they are and what they do is in the outcome.

We have over two hundred and twenty five years of history, starting with the French Revolution, to show just how monstrously insane the left is.  The outcome of all leftist policies has been a disaster for humanity, and the hated western world founded on Judaic/Christian principles of individual rights and responsibilities is the left’s primary target.

We need to understand this once and for all:  The left will adopt any philosophy that will gain them power!  Why?  Because unlike the Judaic/Christian world the left has no moral foundation giving them the ability to shift directions 180 degrees if it gains them power and money.   The end consequence to those they previously and supposedly supported are immaterial to the left, whether those policies involved race, intolerance, the environment, justice or economics.  They use whatever or whomever they can to gain the one thing that is their one and only morality – gain power at any cost – while using our own values against us!

The socialist monsters of the 20th century, including Mao, Stalin, Castro, Hitler, Pot Pol and others murdered over 100 million innocent people in the 20th century.  The spear point of modern socialism since the fall of the Soviet Union has been environmentalism, and an argument can easily be made they've killed over 100 million innocent people in the world via their anti-pesticide policies alone.  That doesn't even count the numbers of people who've suffered due to their policies on climate change, genetically modified foods and a host of other positions.

Dystopia follows the left - in all of it's manifestations -  like the plague follows rats.  The left is insane and Obama is the foremost example of that insanity.

The Obama administration wants to let in a large number of Syrian refugees.  It varies from 10,000 to 100,000, but since the truth is not in our president, those are probably just waypoints to an unlimited migration from the Middle East – i.e., the numbers are gruberfacts, chum for the chumps. Liberals, which means the Democratic Party, are wailing about the responsibility America has to welcome these refugees, driven from their homes by the winds of war.  We are a nation of immigrants, and it is our duty to welcome this next wave.  If we don't, we are bigots.  We know a lot about liberals.  They give things away.  They are so concerned with whatever problem they identify that they are passionate about giving away what you have built to, as they think, deal with it…… They never expect to see any of these refugees.  They are going to be somewhere else while they congratulate themselves on their open-mindedness……. Liberalism can liquidate a society.  It cannot build one…….[the West’s culture has been built on] 3,500 years in terms of Judaism – i.e., the Ten Commandments;over 2,000 years in terms of Christianity;………Islam is alien to that culture.  It is based on dominance, not equality, within society and aggression toward and death for nonbelievers……

On Friday, the U.S. Justice Department filed a 35-page petition asking the U.S. Supreme Court to review Texas v. U.S., the case filed by 26 states against President Obama’s immigration amnesty plan. The government is appealing a preliminary injunction that stopped implementation of Obama’s amnesty plan, which was issued by a federal district court and upheld by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals on Nov. 9....

The "Leading From Behind" Failure, By John C. Velisek USN Ret
The United States under the leadership of this President has lost the will to win. Instead we are giving in to the political correctness of those in leadership positions, allowing Islamic terrorism to spread and gain footholds in many different areas of the world including our own country. This administration has ignored this spread, leaving an opening to the vulnerability of attacks here in our country.  Not being willing to take on the Islamic State and all other organizations of radical Islamic terrorism has lead to the expansion of radical Jihad, and allowed recruiting to expand because they know that the United States who should be a world leader is “leading from behind” which means no leadership at all. By our actions we are condoning the premise that Islamic Terrorism is a form of political expression, and that our nation under this President will continue to make excuses for the deaths of innocent citizens. It will come here, and it will be caused by the ideological shortcomings of this President and this Administration……

Nonie Darwish: Will Obama Go Away After the 2016 Elections?
President Obama started his presidency with a lack of confidence in America as an exceptional nation bringing hope and goodness to the world. He mocked Christians, the Bible and those who support the Second Amendment even as far back as 2006. In the meantime, he shamelessly defended Islam with every fiber of his being, even after horrific acts of Islamic terrorism on Americans. Both abroad and internally, Obama never demanded an apology from his attorney general, Erick Holder, when he reprimanded America as “a nation of cowards.”  The feelings of lack of confidence are now mutual, not only on Obama’s side towards..

List of Refugee Jihadis Secretly Arrested in America, By Pamela Geller Obama’s immigration jihad to expedite Muslim refugees from jihad wars has gone into high gear in the wake of the Paris Islamic attacks.  Mind you, there was no urgency for the hundreds of thousands of Christians who were subsequently slaughtered by devout Muslims in their war to impose Islam across Syria, Iraq, Lebanon etc. At the end of 2011, the international arm of my organization, SION, called for emergency asylum for Christians and religious minorities trying to escape Islamic supremacists genocide. Nothing was done. Obama stood by while wholesale slaughter took place. Now he wants to bring the perps of genocide.Obama deceitfully accuses the GOP of giving refugees a “religious test.” It was the jihadists that gave..

US government officially closes its eyes to genocide against ME Christians, By Carol Brown
The Obama administration is pulling out all the stops to deny Christians in the Middle East any relief from their horrific plight. The door to the United States has been closed using an obscure bureaucratic angle that withholds recognition of official refugee status for Christians fleeing ISIS. And now an unnamed State Department representative has signaled that Middle Eastern Christians may be excluded from an official declaration of genocide. Per a report at NRO, Yazidis will be officially recognized as victims of genocide. And rightfully so. But Christians are not slated to be. And while this may seem like meaningless bureaucratic garbage compared to the reality that is unfolding in the Middle East, the implications are significant.  First, it would continue to render invisible the genocide that is being committed against Christians in the Middle East. There are no words to describe this disgrace, but sin comes to mind. For an overview of the savagery that has been, and continues to be, inflicted upon Christians in the Middle East, see the short summary of part of NRO article, below…..

Muslims have driven Christians out of their lands. Enslaved them. Forcibly converted them to Islam. Murdered them. But the Obama administration’s anti-Christian animus is so deep and thoroughgoing that Obama has refused to meet with victims of the Muslim persecution of Christians, and now the administration refuses to designate this persecution of Christians a genocide. “This is not an academic matter. A genocide designation would have significant policy implications for American efforts to restore property and lands taken from the minority groups and for offers of aid, asylum, and other protections to such victims
. Worse, it would mean that, under the Genocide Convention, the United States and other governments would not be......

Bill limiting Gitmo transfers may be unconstitutional, Obama says, By Pamela Geller
President Obama on Wednesday argued that legislation that sets limits on his ability to transfer detainees from the detention facilities in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, may violate the Constitution, and indicated he may have to implement certain provisions of the bill differently than Congress intended.

Sweden. The ‘(Humanitarian) Superpower’, Overwhelmed, by Andrew Stuttaford
Sweden’s political elite have liked to boast that their country is a ‘humanitarian superpower’, a boast that has quite a bit to do with years of immigration policies that have made no sense to anyone with the slightest sense of how the world works. Reality is now biting. Hard,…… Meanwhile, some polls have shown that the SD, a party with barely more than a handful of supporters a decade ago, is now Sweden’s largest. Maybe, maybe not, but even Sifo, probably Sweden’s best-known pollster is giving them 17.6 percent, a figure that, because of respondents’ unwillingness to admit to SD sympathies, may understate the ‘real’ total. To the south, the dangerously irresponsible (or, as The Economist puts it, “indispensable”) Angela Merkel continues to dig a deeper hole both for her country and, if she is allowed to get away with it, the Eu…...

Skin, Skin,Nothing but Skin, by Jay Nordlinger
For years on end, we’ve heard about “white privilege.” If you’re white in America, your life is supposed to be nothing but cotton candy, pretty prom dates, glowing health, and riches. A cloud never crosses your sky. In recent weeks, the cries of “White privilege!” have grown louder. True, it’s easier to belong to a racial majority than to a racial minority — or at least it is in most cases. Black people have coped with any number of obstacles and slights in this country, well after Jim Crow (to say nothing of slavery)…….. But lives are lived individually, aren’t they? Rather than in groups? Years ago, I worked briefly for a man who seemed to be a classic one-percenter. He was employed in a prestigious law firm and had been to the best schools: Princeton, Oxford, and Harvard, I believe, and in that order. One day, I asked him about his earlier life. And my eyes widened as he talked…….

Molenbeek: A Troubled Neighborhood in a Failing State, by Andrew Stuttaford
In the course of a post last weekend, I linked to a bleak piece in Politico about Molenbeek, a Brussels neighborhood that has come into sharp focus after it emerged that some of the Paris attackers came from there.……I witnessed the neighborhood become increasingly intolerant. Alcohol became unavailable in most shops and supermarkets; I heard stories of fanatics at the Comte des Flandres metro station who pressured women to wear the veil; Islamic bookshops proliferated, and it became impossible to buy a decent newspaper. With an unemployment rate of 30 percent, the streets were eerily empty until late in the morning. Nowhere was there a bar or café where white, black and brown people would mingle. Instead, I witnessed petty crime, aggression, and frustrated youths who spat at our girlfriends and called them “filthy whores.” If you made a remark, you were inevitably scolded and called a racist. There used to be Jewish shops on Chaussée de Gand, but these were terrorized by gangs of young kids and most closed their doors around 2008. Openly gay people were routinely intimidated, and also packed up their bags.……Brussels’ Socialists were beginning to pay attention to the city’s Muslim community. Noting that half of the Socialist Party’s 26-member slate in the city’s 75-seat parliament was then Muslim, I wrote as follows:

There’s nothing wrong with that in principle (in fact as a measure of integration it can be seen as encouraging), but to read this sentence is to wonder who, exactly, is integrating whom: “ In the commune of Molenbeek, longstanding Socialist mayor Philippe Moureaux has made Halal meals standard in all schools; police officers are also barred from eating or drinking on the streets during Ramadan.” Fast forward nine years, and Teun Voeten, the cultural anthropologist and war photographer who is the author of the Politico piece, wrote this:……..

Belgium is not that much of a nation……it is both host and, in some senses, prototype for the post-national EU is both appropriate and a warning.

Statist Superstition Mounts a Surge - A new bureaucratic nightmare

K. Lloyd Billingsley November 18th, 2015

As we observed in “Financial Crisis and Leviathan,” in its first 14 months the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, a new federal agency, did little besides expanding an already bloated and wasteful government. The CFPB duplicates the work of existing regulators and worsens a crisis government played a major role in causing through programs such as the Carter-Era Community Reinvestment Act. Unfortunately, the damage does not stop there.

As the New York Times observes, the CFPB has been taking aim at the arbitration process, a longstanding way to resolve disputes outside of the court system. A new rule by the CFPB “which would prevent financial services companies from including class-action bans in consumer contracts, could in effect kill arbitration altogether.” Trouble is, as the Times notes, the CFPB is “empowered to issue rules without legislative approval, making them more difficult to defeat. Furthermore, unlike the Securities and Exchange Commission, which is overseen by a bipartisan commission, the consumer agency has a single head, appointed by the president.”

As Mother Jones explains, a recent television commercial, aired during a presidential debate, “paints the CFPB as a Kremlin-like bureaucratic nightmare,” with prime mover Elizabeth Warren “as the Stalinesque figure” on a red banner alongside CFPB boss Richard Cordray. Given the top-down autocratic structure of the CFPB, and the lack of legislative oversight, the Soviet imagery is not much of a stretch.

The CFPB is institutionalized statist superstition, a dominant non-ethos in Washington. In this superstition, government should always expand wasteful programs and agencies, regardless of performance. And even in times of recession, government should create new federal agencies. As the CFPB confirms, those are easy to start but as Milton Friedman observed, practically impossible to eliminate, regardless of performance.....This Appeared Here.....

Harvard Plans Divisive Anti-America Conference

By E. Jeffrey Ludwig

The Harvard Graduate School of Education 14th Annual Alumni of Color Conference will be held from Thursday, March 3 to Saturday, March 5, 2016 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The conference will be organized around three anti-American themes:
  • Designing a New Blueprint for Democracy
  • Embracing the Mosaic as Muse
  • Building Capacity for Sustainable Engagement
These three themes are defined in almost wholly negative ways. The conference organizers reject the melting pot concept, refuse to explicitly identify with non-violence (Gandhian satyagraha), and do not hesitate to depict the black minority as oppressed and dehumanized (presumably even that elite group that are Harvard alumni of color). The conference’s “search for new strategies” is thus being erected on negative premises, without any expressed love of country or one’s fellow man.……To Read More ….

Kasich shamelessly repeats liberal slander in new anti-Trump ad

The Kasich campaign fell to new lows when it began broadcasting an anti-Trump ad that repeats all the liberal media lies about him.  Kasich's ad features a veteran

"You might not care if Donald Trump says Muslims should register with their government, because you're not one," says Moe, to an ominous soundtrack. "And you might not care if Donald Trump says he's going to round up all the Hispanic immigrants, because you're not one. And you might not care if Donald Trump says it's okay to rough up black protesters, because you're not one. And you might not care if Donald Trump wants to suppress journalists, because you're not one. But think about this: If he keeps going, and he actually becomes president, he might just get around to you. And you better hope there's someone left to help you.."

Where to begin?.........Kasich's ad only fuels my suspicions that if Trump is the nominee, Kasich and others will sit out the election, or even worse, secretly fund Hillary's campaign.  Because from his rhetoric, Kasich, a big spender who has embraced Obamacare, sounds a lot closer to Hillary Clinton than Donald Trump........To Read More……

My Take - "Gov. John Kasich's Obamacare expansion has put 450,941 Ohioans on Medicaid, more than the Republican governor said would enroll by 2020. [continue reading]After reading this there are only two questions that needs to be answered. Who's going to pay for this? How much is it going to cost?

Is it possible the answers are "you" and "too much"?

John Kasich once said [paraphrasing] that being a “conservative” is his philosophy and being a Republican is his instrument. If that’s true I wonder how he defines conservatism?  Because along with pushing Medicaid expansion (while avoiding the use of the words Medicare and Obamacare)  he makes emotional arguments that he wants to make sure “mentally ill are not livin’ under a bridge or being put in a jail cell” and that “drug-addicted” and “working poor” Ohioans need this expansion (of the words he never used), and he has the “right to move forward with programs” he thinks “in the short term may not be that popular, but in the long term may yield an awful lotta good”.

So Kasich bypassed the legislature to enact after lying relentlessly about how it would be funded, his Medicare/Obamacare expansion, which is expected to cost Ohio taxpayers over $600 million annually by 2022, and raised taxes on the one thing that has really impacted Ohio’s economy positively…fracking.

Kasich says, “I have a right to shape what conservative philosophy means.”   He also says, “I know who is happy about it, and that’s who I report to”, which according to Kasich is God.  Why?  Because God loves big government and anyone who opposes his programs will have to answer to God for it.

So let me see if I understand this correctly. Kasich’s belief in big government leftist philosophies and religious demagogic condemnation of his political adversaries is how he defines being a conservative.   Did I get that right?

The Lt. Governor says Ohio can opt out of this mess whenever they like. I wonder if the federal government thinks so?  Boy, isn't it good to have such a good numbers guy in the Governor's office? And I’m really impressed by how many “rights” he's managed to give himself.

One more question. Can anyone tell me what the difference is between Governor Kasich’s thinking, acquisition of "rights", and big government vision versus President Obama’s? Oh, I know. Currently he can only impact Ohio, but he would like to change that and bring his vision to the whole nation.

Wow, doesn't it just give you chill up your leg at the thought of him as President.   Or should we realize the reality of John Kasich - that he suffers from a serious case of wierd compounded by a massive infection of hubris.

Trump a Liar? The Real Story about Deceit in Racial Crime Numbers

By Colin Flaherty

The real story on racial differences in crime rates is easy to find. Just go to the Washington Post, New York Daily News, CNN, or the hundreds of other news sites that recently called Donald Trump a “liar” for retweeting some misinformation about inter-racial crime. These media sites will tell you there is no difference between white and black crime. The only reason black people are arrested, tried, convicted and sentenced five to 100 times more often is because racist cops pick on black people for no reason what so ever. This Holy Grail of racial disparity has been featured in the Washington Post (with nine charts!), New York Times, and tons of other outlets as proof positive of Institutional Racism. “When it comes to illegal drugs, white America does the crime, black America does the time,” says the Huffington Post.

Down in Atlanta, Cynthia Tucker from the Atlanta Journal Constitution talks about how “Countless studies have shown that black Americans’ drug use is in line with our share of the U.S. population (about 12-13 percent of black Americans use illegal drugs), but our drug arrests far outpace that.”   Countless meaning zero.......There is an enormous difference between black and white crime rates in this country. A difference that the same people who call Trump a liar have been lying about for a long time........To Read More......

How to Translate Phony Political Phrases

Thomas Sowell

It is amazing how many different ways the same thing can be said, creating totally different impressions. For example, when President Barack Obama says that defeating ISIS is going to take a long time, how is that different from saying that he is going to do very little, very slowly? It is saying the same thing in different words. Defenders of the administration’s policies may cite how many aerial sorties have been flown by American planes against ISIS......But what is less impressive — and more indicative — is that, in most of those sorties, the planes have not fired a single shot or dropped a single bomb.........We often hear that various problems within the black community are “a legacy of slavery”...... it is another way of saying, “Don’t blame our welfare-state policies for things that got worse after those policies took over. Blame what happened in earlier centuries.”

Nobody would accept that kind of cop-out, if it were expressed that way. But that is why it is expressed differently, as a “legacy of slavery.”.... and whoever set that standard has to prove a negative, namely that he is not guilty of discrimination against group Y. Often nobody can prove anything, so the accused loses — or else settles out of court. Stupid? No. It takes very clever people to make something like that sound plausible. But it also requires people who don’t bother to stop and think to let them get away with it......To Read More....

Political Correctness Goes To War on American History"Where will the impulse to purge the past of its sins end?

Should Washington, DC, named after a slave owner, adopt a new title? Should the Jefferson memorial be torn down?"

George Orwell once remarked that Stalin’s Soviet Union was a place yesterday’s weather could be changed by decree. America, it seems, is not wholly immune to this totalitarian impulse either. It increasingly manifests itself in political correctness, a phenomenon that is flourishing at elite American universities. Make no mistake: the authoritarian implications of this movement, as Jonathan Chait points out in New York magazine, should not be pooh-poohed. Quite the contrary. The tribunes of political correctness, Chait notes, “ are carrying out the ideals of a movement that regards the delegitimization of dissent as a first-order goal.”

The New York Times is thus featuring a story on a plot against Woodrow Wilson—or, to put it more precisely, the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. A student group called the Black Justice League is demanding that Princeton University, which Wilson molded in his image first as professor, then as the school’s president, acknowledge “the racist legacy of Woodrow Wilson” and move to strip his name from both the public policy school and the residential college. For good measure, these student radicals want Princeton to institute courses on “the history of marginalized peoples” as well as “cultural competency training.”

Well.

Wilson, a great Progressive hero, the would-be spreader of democracy and freedom around the globe, was indeed a racist—a nasty disposition that he happened to share with a number of his contemporaries......To Read More......

A Syllabus of the Dangerous Errors of the Left

By Robert Ehrlich

Every day it seems the world gets wackier — and America weaker. The wackiness is due to a virulent brand of progressivism that has a stranglehold on the Democratic party. As media focus on the alleged extremist elements of the Republican party, the real extremism of the progressive Left is largely ignored. Its impact on our economy and culture is dramatic and ongoing......... Possibly the most perplexing aspect of modern progressivism is its intolerance of alternative viewpoints. And nowhere is this attitude better demonstrated than in the proliferation of speech codes on our increasingly politically correct college campuses....... A recent “Notable and Quotable” piece in the Wall Street Journal (October 22) says it all:

By a margin of 51 percent to 36 percent, students favor their school having speech codes to regulate speech for students and faculty. Sixty-three percent favor requiring professors to employ “trigger warnings” to alert students to material that might be discomfiting. One-third of the students polled could not identify the First Amendment as the part of the Constitution that dealt with free speech. Thirty-five percent said that the First Amendment does not protect “hate speech,” while 30 percent of self-identified liberal students say the First Amendment is outdated……..

Black Lives Matter is not a real solution. Its rhetoric is hateful and incendiary. Its goals are divisive. The fact that the Democratic party now seeks to associate itself with such a group says all you need to know about its present preoccupation with identity politics…….To Read More…….

Everything's Fine Until the Bombs Go Off

Posted by Daniel Greenfield @ the Sultan Knish blog 10 Comments

Last month, French President Francois Hollande ridiculed the idea that the massive numbers of Muslim migrants entering his country were any kind of threat.

“Those who argue that we are being invaded are manipulators and falsifiers, who do this only for political reasons, to scare,” the left-wing politician huffed.

And then the pudgy little Socialist had to be rapidly evacuated from France’s national soccer stadium after one of those refugees blew himself up trying to reach Monsieur le Président, and Merkel’s Foreign Minister, Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

Minister Steinmeier had urged rejecting “barriers, fences” when it came to the Muslim migrants, but it was a barrier and the security in front of it that kept one of his beloved refugees from reaching him.

The ordinary people who didn’t have and don’t have the security measures that protect Hollande and Steinemeier died in Paris, blown up and gunned down where they sat, lay and stood.

Hollande's rhetoric is familiar. You can hear it from Obama. You can catch it on the news. We have nothing to worry about. At least not until the bombs start going off. There will be a multi-layered vetting process. The same system that let in all the terrorists before won't let us down now.

At least not until it does.

Everything's fine until the bombs go off. Then we're told not to worry about it because there's no way it could possibly happen again. Not with this new hashtag our brightest brains have cooked up. And then we can let 10,000 potential terrorists into the country while ignoring all the "falsifiers" warning of an "invasion."

It worked for France. It'll work for us.

Vetting for Syrian migrants works as well in the real world as it does for left-wing politicians.

In Greece, overburdened local
authorities don’t care. New migrants are allowed to fill out their own paperwork and are handed letters of transit that allow them access to Europe. An employee at a local registration center was quoted as saying, “We just have to trust what they write down.”

And then the media insists that we have to trust what they write down about the refugees. Even the lies.

In September, at a joint press conference with Secretary of State John Kerry, Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier had called taking in migrants a “moral duty” and urged Americans to “increase the numbers you can take into your country”.

Now Germany is hunting for its own links to the Paris attacks. A few days earlier, Steinemeier had boasted that Germans were bending over backwards for the refugees and proving that, “Germany belongs not to the screamers and hatemongers.” But the terror cells of Hamburg might disagree.

But don’t assume that Hollande or Steinmeier learned any lessons from the latest Muslim massacre.

In September, France’s President Hollande told the French that he had information that attacks against France had been planned from Syria and that planning for future air strikes against ISIS would begin.

In that same speech, he announced that France would be taking in 24,000 migrants.

Hollande knew ahead of time that this disaster was coming. He even prepared the response to it at the same time as he was welcoming some of the potential perpetrators into his country.

It wouldn’t be too surprising if he even had a speech pre-written and ready to go for just such an attack.

Even as Hollande was denouncing “manipulators and falsifiers” for trying to “scare” the French, he had a very good idea of just how much there was to be scared of.

The President of France had looked his nation in the eye and lied to them about the invasion.

Monsieur le Président probably didn’t expect to be this close to the killing when it happened. Neither did Foreign Minister Steinmeier. It’s the Jews and Poles in Marseille or the people in Calais who happen to be a little too close to the New Jungle camp that were meant to be the sacrifices of their compassion.

Unfortunately for Hollande and Steinmeier, the Islamic State didn’t get the memo. Unfortunately for us, their only real response to the crisis they caused will be to try to globalize it even further.

Back then Hollande and Merkel were demanding a “permanent mandatory system” for redistributing Muslim migrants across Europe. Germany and France turned the Muslim migrant crisis into a European problem. Now they want to repeat the butchery in Paris around the world.

G20 named the migrant crisis a global problem and expects the world to solve it.

Greece doesn’t have the money, resources or infrastructure to screen the migrant horde. Frontex is undermanned and its employees, in European fashion, work until 4 PM, at which point the refugees just write whatever they want and get handed letters of transit by Greek officials that want them gone.

The Balkan countries are not any better equipped to manage the invasion than Greece. And the European countries that actually want the migrants aren’t interested in checking their papers, but in signing them up for as many social services as possible.

That’s not just true of Europe. It’s equally true of the United States.

Any talk of vetting is nothing more than plausible deniability. Unless a terrorist is already in our database, vetting him is a lost cause. Our system couldn’t handle the World Trade Center bombers or the 9/11 hijackers and they came from functioning countries that weren’t in the middle of a civil war.

We are not going to be able to vet tens of thousands of people who claim they come from Syria, who have fake passports or who plead that they lost their passports at sea, whose names can be rendered in enough ways to give even a linguist a headache and who will get access to the United States long enough for them to disappear even if we did eventually turn up something on them.

And we’re not supposed to vet them.

Despite the rhetoric, France and Germany are less interested in fighting ISIS than in getting the United States and the rest of the world to take more Muslim migrants. Instead of having ISIS in every city in Europe, they seem determined to make sure that it is in every city in the world instead.

ISIS may have carried out the brutal massacres in Paris, but Hollande, Merkel and the other friends of the refugees helped make it happen. And they want to help make it happen around the world.

The migrant crisis is an invasion. The bodies in Paris could just as easily have been stacked up in any country that was foolish and feckless enough to open the door to ISIS by taking in “refugees”.

If Obama and Kerry succeed in their plan to bring tens of thousands of Syrian migrants to America, the next brutal massacre might not happen in Paris. It might happen in one of our cities instead.

Green Apostacy

By Rich Kozlovich

Below is a well written article by Marita Noon entitled, Greens “smuggle” climate policy into the church to tip climate politics .This will be a shocker to most, but we shouldn't think of this as an action of the "green" movement.  Think of it as an action of the "left/green" movement, since the left infiltrated American churches in the late 1800's as part of what became the progressive movement's "progressive gospel".

European socialism is fundamentally atheistic going back to the French Revolution and this gave it very little traction in the United States 100 plus years ago. So they called themselves "progressives", who later became "liberals" and have now once again metamorphosed into progressives. Here's the kick in the pants. The binding force for this movement in the late 1800's and early 1900's was religion, hence - the "progressive gospel".

They viewed socialism as the practical application of Christian ethic with enormous influence on public policy until WWII. After WWII the true socialists within that movement kicked the religionists to the curb and the binding force became "psychology", i.e., if you disagree with us you're insane. Groups like the National Council of Churches (the NCC spends over 19 million dollars a year on leftist programs) have been leftists for over 100 years, many of which were probably leftists before there were leftists.

After the fall of the Soviet Union Environmentalism became the cause célèbre of the world’s so-called progressives. Environmentalism was now the only real force of influence that remains to them. Everything else they've promoted has proven to be abject failures, leaving environmentalism as the spear point of worldwide socialism. That's why the left has thrown everything they have into these insane global warming, climate change initiatives.

However, long before this many of the churches were already contaminated and apostate, and since they were tossed aside after WWII they view this as their last opportunity to become a player in the socialist movement once again and get into the good graces of their atheist masters.

They lost their minds, they lost their integrity and they lost their credibility over 100 years ago by embracing any and every leftist philosophical flavor of the day. Views they embraced irrespective of what the Bible - the book that's supposed to be foundational to everything they believe, practice and preach - may say that's contrary to the moral relativism of the left. They're as corrupt as the rest of the left! Is it any wonder people stopped going to church. Paraphrasing Ronald Reagan: They didn't leave the churches - the churches left them!

The Poor Murderers

Posted by Daniel Greenfield @ Sultan Knish Blog

Outside the synagogue a police car waits silently painting the sidewalk red and blue. No matter what the mayor and his pet police commissioner says, the NYPD is bracing for a terrorist attack.

After 9/11, the sight of heavily armed police officers became the new normal in New York. It's the new normal in gun-free Europe where the capital cities of the continent fall are locked down and the people are told to stay away from the windows.

It's just life.

Growing up, just before I was old enough to go to school, there was a terrorist attack. The targets were Jewish children. After that, the school was a fortress. There were two sets of heavy steel doors. One on the inside and the other on the outside. Children came and went in staggered groups.

If a Muslim terrorist did attack, he wouldn't be able to get us all. Not at once.

It was just life. With Islam.

A New York City teacher/arms dealer was just sentenced for trying to sell weapons to terrorists. He knew right away where to point the attackers. To a police station or a Jewish community center.

Since 9/11, Jewish synagogues have been some of the most frequent targets of Muslim terror plots. And each time the professional civil libertarians, the lawyers and the reporters dismiss the attacks.

Four Muslim men wanted to bomb two synagogues in the Bronx. The media came to their defense. HBO even ordered a documentary defending the attackers. It won a Peabody award. Ahmed Ferhani and Mohammad Mamdouh planned to attack a synagogue and maybe a church. Again the media and the activists of the left rushed to their defense. They were entrapped. They never wanted to do it.

The victims were not the Jews they wanted to kill. The victims were the murderers. As the Guardian wrote of the four Muslim terrorists, "Poor, black, and jailed." It's enough to make an HBO exec weep.

The Muslim murderers always have tragic problems to sympathize with.

The Times Square bomber had mortgage issues. As the New York Times empathized, "His anger toward his adopted country seemed to have grown in lockstep with his personal struggles. He had lost his home to foreclosure last year." The Boston Marathon killers also faced "personal struggles" and had "difficulty adapting". To a journalist, every terrorist just seems to be a lonely little boy inside.

And it's all abstract. Just another game of social justice. A little white wine and a little intersectionality. Throw in a dose of noble savage and watch civilization burn.

But then there are police cars outside synagogues, soldiers in Paris and lockdowns in Brussels, then you stand watching the ash fall in Lower Manhattan, then you walk into schools that are more secure than prisons, then you deal with a reality that is more real than Twitter hashtags.

The ADL and the AJC have joined BDS organizations in a push to fill America with Syrian migrants. Even the Orthodox Union has signed on while shamefully invoking the Holocaust. When Netanyahu pointed out that a major Muslim Brotherhood ally had played a key role in the Holocaust, the media howled with rage and accused him of exploiting the Holocaust. But when it comes to promoting the arrival of tens of thousands of Syrian Muslims, from a country that hosted real Nazis, then the media trips all over itself to compare a population which supports ISIS and Al Qaeda to Jews in WW2.

A poll of Syrian refugees found that 13% supported ISIS. Out of Obama's first batch of 10,000 refugees, that's 1,300. How many will they kill? Whom will they kill?

In real life, terrorism is ordinary. It's something horrible that happens. You can see it on videos of Muslim terrorists chasing after Jews on the streets of Jerusalem. You could see it on September 11, a scene that countless blockbusters have tried to recreate with robots and aliens. You saw it again in Paris.

We live in a state of civilization. It's a state as fragile as the human body. It's big, but so are skyscrapers. Anything can be destroyed when you find a weak point.

Sometimes it's a plane flying into a building. Sometimes it's a photo of a dead child.

Courage is a moral force. It makes us who we are. But it isn't always right. The SS were courageous and so were the Bolsheviks. So are the ACLU lawyers who rush to defend Muslim terrorists and their clients who blow themselves up to kill non-Muslims and their infidel civilization.

Warped morals that invert the innocent and the guilty, that turns murderers into victims, make courage into an evil thing. They make it into a crime.

Murder is not a mystery. Its harbinger is the police car, the plane flying low, the smiling man who opens his coat. Evil is not a mystery either. It is moral courage tuned to the destruction of civilization. The murderer can be courageous, but not creative. The ends of evil are power and ruination.

Liberalism is all too often the cult of the poor murderer. The thug who kills over inequality. The terrorist who bombs over bigotry. And it is outrage at the victims of its own Utopian crimes.

Utopia is another name for power. It is an absolute good that negates the humanity of every person on earth. It doesn't matter whether it's the Islamic Caliphate of ISIS or the Socialist gulag. The destruction of the individual is not only necessary, but celebrated as evidence of the triumph of the ideology. Destroying people shows the absolute power and total importance of the creed.

That is the force that destroys civilizations. It's a moral force, but it's the moral force of evil.

Civilization is the moral force that resists destruction. It is the speech that dares to name murderers, murderers. As civilization dwindles, streets darken and savages and their lawyers hunt the night. Murderers become victims, destroyers become the future and good is invoked in the name of evil.

Sometimes upholding civilization is a difficult thing. It can mean being a soldier on the front lines or a police officer sitting in a car waiting for a terrorist to strike.

Or sometimes it can simply mean speaking the truth. And that is something that any of us can do.

Even at the best of times, civilization is a fragile thing. At the worst of times, it can be held up with a few words, with a few people reminding each other that truth is worth fighting for.
