A protection bill would really represent a return to the constitutional anomaly of the old independent-counsel statute.
About Rich Lowry

Mitch McConnell just did our constitutional order an enormous favor by burying the so-called Robert Mueller protection bill, hopefully never to rise again. There’s been much harumphing about how Republicans are in the tank for President Trump by not getting on board the bipartisan bill, but it is a singularly misbegotten piece of legislation.
Plan A, i.e., passing the thing, would have been hard enough. But its supporters apparently didn’t think through a need for a Plan B or C: Trump would have vetoed the bill if it passed Congress, and if it somehow passed Congress with a veto-proof majority, the Supreme Court likely would have struck it down.
The push for the bill again shows how, to this point, Trump’s main threat to our constitutional system has been catalyzing a hysterical opposition. That opposition is willing to throw overboard legal and constitutional niceties to thwart Trump............To Read More....

Sessions, the left, and hypocrisy
By Taylor Lewis November 12, 2018
In the end, Trump had them marching for a man they hate.
The scuttlebutt currently in Washington, D.C., is that Robert Mueller is drafting his final report, wrapping up his nearly two-year-long probe. There’s no timetable for its release, but, presumably, once it’s out, we’ll find out how suburban soccer moms in Winnebago County, Wisconsin, were tricked into voting Trump by hypnotic Facebook ads planted by shtetl-dwelling trolls.
Before all that, Mueller has to survive a change of leadership. Just after the midterm elections when Democrats took back the House of Representatives, President Trump insisted on and received the resignation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
The move, which came in the President’s patented news-dropping form of a tweet, was hardly surprising. Congressional Republicans hinted that Trump would force Sessions out following the elections. What was unexpected was Democrats’ reaction to the firing of the nation’s top lawman.
Just hours after his dismissal, liberals, fearing that the Mueller probe was now in danger, marched on Union Square in New York City to voice their disagreement with Sessions’ firing. The protesters’ sign bore the cant synonymous with liberal sloganeering: “Hands off Mueller,” “Repeal, Replace Trump,” “This is what democracy looks like.”.................Read more

The Left’s melodramatic constitutional crisis
By John Dempsey November 12, 2018
All of a sudden, liberals in government care about the Constitution. Just last week they hated your free speech, freedom of religion, gun rights, and the Constitution in general. Now, the left is up in arms. In their eyes, President Trump created a Constitutional crisis after Attorney General Jeff Sessions left. Trump appointed Matthew Whitaker to act temporarily as attorney general and oversee the alleged Trump-Russia collusion investigation instead of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein staying in control. Now, Democrats are crying Constitutional crisis because of Whitaker’s public comments against Mueller’s inquiry.
The day after the midterm elections, Jeff Sessions vacated the attorney general seat at the Justice Department. Many believed that he would leave after the first of the year. His sooner-than-expected departure caused the left to panic. Immediately, Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA), Senate Minority Chuck Schumer (D-NY), House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and other left-wing talking heads threw a fit over Trump’s temporary replacement. They argue that Rod Rosenstein should be acting head of the DOJ, since he is next in line.............. Read more

Earth to Jeff Sessions...
May 4, 2018 By Michael E. Young
It is staggering to witness the Justice Department go off the rails and barrel toward a showdown with our president over innuendo and manufactured misdeeds.
From the beginning of the special counsel appointment and despite Jeff Sessions's recusal, I felt confident that Trump and Sessions had a behind-the-scenes plan to navigate this quagmire.
Ridiculous was the notion that Trump's attorney general, Jeff Sessions, was not fully in his camp in light of the glaring double standards of justice demonstrated at every point from before the election to present day.
I expected the A.G. to pursue other completely legitimate avenues that might create leverage and pressure on Rosenstein and by proxy, the special counsel, to gracefully withdraw their aggression against the president. And yet we sit here dumbfounded as the witch hunt lingers on. Earth to Jeff Sessions?..............Read more

GOP pols slam Rosenstein, say staff 'shaking' in fear over 'threats'
By Adam Shaw Fox News June 13, 2018
GOP lawmakers accused the Justice Department of intimidation on the heels of a Fox News report that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein once threatened to "subpoena" House committee members, with one lawmaker now claiming staffers have been left "physically shaking" over Rosenstein's tactics. Fox News' Catherine Herridge reported Tuesday on emails that described a tense closed-door meeting in January. Written by commitee staffers, they said Rosenstein threatened to subpoena emails, phone records and other documents from lawmakers and aides on the House Intelligence Committee -- in response to inquiries regarding the Russia probe........Continue Reading.....

Explaining Jeff Sessions
June 10, 2018 By Hugh McInnish
I have known Jeff Sessions for a long time. In 1994, he was running for Alabama attorney general, and I was running for the congressional seat presently occupied by Mo Brooks. Jeff and I, then, were on the same GOP ticket in my congressional district, and we showed up at times on the same stump. He won, and I lost. Out of 50,000 votes cast in the primary, I came up 23 votes short. Since then, I have watched from the sidelines and have been a constant fan of Jeff Sessions. I particularly admired him when he jumped out front and endorsed Donald Trump before any other senator did.....But Jeff is not an aggressive fighter.......My friend Jeff is no bare-knuckles fighter. At this critical time, what we need for our attorney general is an ass-kicking George Patton........For the good of all, he should be reassigned to a job for which he is more suitable. .........Read more

Is Mueller Going to Investigate Washington, Jefferson and Jackson, Too?
By Hans von Spakovsky | May 9, 2018
Those who claim that President Donald Trump is guilty of obstructing justice because he fired James Comey or because he asked Comey if he could go easy on Michael Flynn are way off base. And so is Robert Mueller if he is actually conducting such an investigation.
What none of these critics seem to understand is that under our Constitution, the executive power of the federal government is fully vested in the president. That includes the responsibility to ensure that “the Laws be faithfully executed.”
In other words, the president is the chief law enforcement officer of the United States, not the attorney general or any of the other lawyers who work inside the Department of Justice, including special counsels appointed under Department of Justice regulations.
The doctrine of prosecutorial discretion, long recognized by the courts, holds that government prosecutors have almost unlimited authority to decide whether or not the facts and circumstances of a particular case warrant the opening of a criminal investigation and the prosecution of any individual.
Thus, the ultimate authority to decide whether to conduct an investigation and prosecution under federal law rests with the president. It doesn’t rest with Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, or special counsel Robert Mueller. ...........To Read More.......

Jeff Sessions: Is He a Failure in Leadership, Understanding and Courage?
By Susan Jones | March 30, 2018
(CNSNews.com) - In a four-page letter addressed to three Republican committee chairmen -- Chuck Grassley, Bob Goodlatte, and Trey Gowdy -- Attorney General Jeff Sessions said he takes their concerns about alleged FISA abuse "seriously," but he will not be the one to decide if a special counsel is warranted. Sessions could have granted the Republicans' request to appoint a special counsel or rejected it, but instead he took a middle path, leaving the decision to someone elsse.
Sessions said he has asked a senior federal prosecutor -- U.S. Attorney John W. Huber of Utah, originally an Obama appointee -- to decide whether the Republicans’ concerns about the FBI's conduct merit the appointment of a special counsel.........To Read More...

Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Thursday told Republicans in Congress that the appointment of a special counsel "is reserved for use in only the most 'extraordinary circumstances,'” and therefore, Sessions won't appoint one to investigate the conduct of senior FBI officials regarding FISA warrants, political bias, lies, and other matters. Instead, Sessions -- in a letter to Republican committee chairmen on Thursday -- said he has asked John Huber, a U.S. attorney in Utah, to make recommendations on what more may need to be done and "whether any matters merit the appointment of a Special Counsel." Two members of the House Freedom Caucus, Reps. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) and Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) told Fox News’s Laura Ingraham on Thursday they disagree with Sessions' decision:
“When the attorney general writes Congress and says, only under ‘extraordinary circumstances’ do we appoint a second special counsel, well, how about these facts, Laura?” Jordan asked.........To Read More......
My Take - I've not really entered this arena of discussion because you never really know what's going on in the background regarding investigations, as investigations have to remain secret. But we're in over a year in the life of this administration and it appears to me Jeff Sessions is in far over his head, his abilities, and his courage.
He's failed to make decisions that are his job, and this recusal clabber just doesn't play in my opinion. He's failed to drain the Justice Department swamp of Obama's acolytes as far as I can tell, and it appears he's failed to take the lead in anything that resembles going after the Washington elite who've clearly been involved in criminal behavior, including Lynch, Hillary, IRS, intelligence operatives, and a substantial number of Obama appointees.
The key to understanding whether this guy needs to go or not is when RINO's like "Sen. Lindsey Graham

If these swamp creatures are for anything or anyone - a rational person should be in opposition. If they don't want him fired - he needs to be fired!
Two more things. These politicians are an excellent example of why there needs to be term limits, and they are a reason why the Republican Party is called the Stupid Party. .

Sessions Promotes Government Thievery
The Justice Department’s asset-forfeiture policies should frighten conservatives, who are supposed to believe in due process and property rights.
Steven Greenhut
Attorney General Jeff Sessions places so much trust in the noble motives of government bureaucrats that he wants them to protect their powers to take your cars, cash, homes, and other property simply on their say-so. Cops don’t need to convict you of anything — they can simply take your property if they suspect it has been used in any sort of crime. And they can use the money to buy fancy new vehicles for the SWAT team or to remodel the office.

The process is known as civil asset forfeiture, and it’s one of the most obnoxious and un-American policies imaginable. Remember those old Southern speed traps, where police agencies build their budgets off of unsuspecting out-of-staters driving a few miles over the speed limit? Well, asset forfeiture puts those second-rate operations to shame.
Speaking to the National Sheriffs’ Association in Washington, D.C. last month, Sessions said that “civil asset forfeiture is a key tool that helps law enforcement defund organized crime, take back ill-gotten gains, and prevent new crimes from being committed.” He said it “takes the material support of the criminals and makes it the material support of law enforcement.”...........There are endless examples of the misuse of this process. If, say, someone steals your car and takes it for a joyride, the government can then take that car — even though you had nothing to do with the crime that was committed with the vehicle.
The courts are filled with cases with names such as, The State of California v. a 1997 Buick LeSabre. Prosecutors aren’t targeting owners, who would then get the chance to appear in court. They file suit against the inanimate object, which then allows them to take it and give themselves big bonuses............To Read More.....

AG Sessions Suing California for Obstructing Federal Immigration Agents: 'How Dare You'

"Immigration law is the province of the federal government," Attorney General Jeff Sessions told a gathering of law enforcement officers in Sacramento on Wednesday, as he announced that the Justice Department is suing California over its sanctuary policies. "Stop treating immigration agents differently from everybody else for the purpose of eviscerating border and immigration law and advancing an open-borders philosophy shared by only a few," Sessions said. Jeff Sessions -- Ninja or Nincompoop
By Brian Joondeph March 5, 2018
Conventional wisdom, as shaped by the mainstream media, is becoming more and more schizophrenic.
Conventional wisdom, as shaped by the mainstream media, is becoming more and more schizophrenic.
- President Trump is a Russian stooge, doing Putin’s bidding, yet he is reigniting the cold war via new Russian sanctions.
- His White House is in chaos, yet the left is apoplectic over his barrage of policy initiatives.
- Special Counsel Robert Mueller is shooting blanks and at the same time is circling the Oval Office, ready to pounce and indict.
- Then there is Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Lurking in the weeds, moving with stealth and deception like a ninja.
- Or playing Rip Van Winkle, taking a nap, ignoring the waves of corruption engulfing the DOJ and FBI.

It Wasn’t Comey’s Decision to Exonerate Hillary – It Was Obama’s
That plan was in place and already being implemented when Director Comey began drafting the “findings” he would announce months later. But it was not Comey’s plan. It was Obama’s plan.

The thing to understand, what has always been the most important thing to understand, is that Jim Comey was out in front, but he was not calling the shots.
On the right, the commentariat is in full-throttle outrage over the revelation that former FBI Director Comey began drafting his statement exonerating Hillary Clinton in April 2016 – more than two months before he delivered the statement at his now famous July 5 press conference.
The news appears in a letter written to new FBI Director Christopher Wray by two senior Senate Judiciary Committee Republicans, Chairman Chuck Grassley and Senator Lindsey Graham. Pundits and the Trump administration are shrieking because this indicates the decision to give the Democrats’ nominee a pass was clearly made long before the investigation was over, and even long before key witnesses, including Clinton herself, were interviewed. It shows, they cry, that the fix was in!
News Flash: This is not news. Let’s think about what else was going on in April 2016. I’ve written about it a number of times over the last year-plus, such as in a column a few months back.........Read more
My Take - We have to keep coming back to this one singular thought. The leftists didn't just want Hillary to win - they needed her to win. That was the only way they could bury all the scandals and crimes perpetrated by the Obama administration. And Obama had to know about them.
But the question I keep coming back to is this. What's Session doing about all these scandals. The stench of all these crimes is nauseating and out in the open for all to see, and yet, I can't see that Sessions is doing anything. What's going on?

Conservative pressure on Sessions grows
Editor's Note: Normally I don't post anything from The Hill, and in point of fact - I never go there to read anything either. Maybe it's my computer, but all through the years I've had the same problem no matter what computer I used. The site is slow to respond, bounces around and is generally not user friendly. I find the effort a frustrating waste of time. I stopped posting - or reading - anything from the World Net Daily for the same reason. But this is where this article appears, enjoy, if you can. RK

AG Sessions Must Resign or Do His Job
Do we have a Justice Department or not?
Jeff Sessions has dropped the ball big-time.
By J. Marsolo
During the past few weeks, we have confirmed what we suspected. The Comey investigation of the Hillary email "matter" was a sham. We knew that Comey did not call for a grand jury, did not issue subpoenas, and granted immunity to most of Hillary's pals. Loretta Lynch told Comey to use the word "matter" instead of "investigation," and Lynch met with Bill Clinton days before the FBI questioned Hillary. But now we know that Comey wrote the exoneration letter before he interviewed Hillary and before he completed the sham investigation. Now we know why Comey did not put Hillary under oath when questioned. There was no point to it, since he had already decided to give her a pass. And not putting her under oath saved the additional problem that Hillary would naturally lie under oath, which would have required Comey to explain that Hillary lying under oath to the FBI was done without intent. Now we know that Trump was correct.............Read more

Another day and another round of stories about unmasking. The latest story is about Samantha Power, UN representative under President Obama: Former United Nations Ambassador Samantha Power will become the latest Obama-era official to meet with congressional investigators probing a vastly different side of the Russian election meddling story, the possibility the previous White House spied on Trump campaign and transition personnel, when she gives private testimony Friday before a congressional panel. Earlier this year the House intelligence committee issued subpoenas to the CIA, FBI and NSA, seeking details related to alleged requests to “unmask” the identities of Trump associates swept up in U.S. surveillance operations against foreign intelligence targets. Let's not jump to conclusions but it smells funny, as my little sister used to say. Were these inquiries about U.S. citizens legitimate in the context of national security? or............. Read more:
AG Sessions: Justice reformer or justice feeb?
Is former senator Jeff Sessions actually fit to run the Justice Department?
By James Tygart
He's a feeb. Sorry, but it has to be said. We're all thinking it. Why waste any more time with this disastrous mediocrity? Like some bizarro-world opposite of the courageous little Dutch boy standing up to the weight of an ocean with a firm finger in a dyke, this anti-charismatic Washington feeb can't muster enough conviction to withdraw his finger from the dyke of lies and old-boy swampism that's for years protected the most notorious group of political gangsters ever to tread upon the Constitution. And via carefully proscribed special prosecutors (anti-Muellers), subpoenas, and systematic under-oath interviews, what an oceanic, cleansing justice it could be. Accountability at last: ............ Gregg Jarrett: Sessions should resign, but not before taking action against Clinton, Comey and Rice
By Gregg Jarrett, Fox News
Jeff Sessions should never have accepted the position of Attorney General of the United States. His leadership has proven unproductive and ineffectual. There are two reasons for this. First, he deceived President Trump by concealing his intent to recuse himself from the federal investigation into Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election. Hours after he was sworn in, Sessions began setting his recusal in motion by meeting with Department of Justice officials to discuss stepping aside from the probe. Failing to disclose such a material matter to the president was an egregious betrayal.
Trump was reportedly disgusted and angry with Sessions when he learned of the recusal – rightly so. “If he was going to recuse himself, he should have told me prior to taking office, and I would have picked someone else,” said Trump at a news conference. The president was entitled to know the truth, but Sessions actively hid it from him. Sessions’ deception deprived him of Trump’s confidence and trust which are essential to the job of Attorney General. This ethical impropriety renders him unfit to serve.
Second, Sessions appears either incapable or incompetent. He has resisted producing the documents relevant to the anti-Trump dossier which were subpoenaed by the House Intelligence Committee. He has failed to appoint a special counsel to reopen the case against Hillary Clinton for likely violations of the Espionage Act in the use of her email server, obstruction of justice for destroying 33,000 emails under congressional subpoena, and potential self-dealing for profit through her foundation............. AG Sessions Must Resign or Do His Job
As a former prosecutor of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), founder of Judicial Watch and now Freedom Watch, and its current general counsel and chairman, I filed a complaint Monday before the Office of Professional Responsibility and Inspector General of the DOJ, demanding an investigation and the eventual removal and prosecution of Special Counsel Robert Mueller for his and his conflicted staff – which are Democrat/Clinton political campaign donors and supporters in large part – having illegally leaked grand jury information to harm President Trump, his family and former and present colleagues. The Justice Department’s Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) and Inspector General (IG) are charged with investigating and remedying unethical and illegal behavior by the special counsel, his office and other DOJ lawyers and staff. Special Counsel Mueller derives his authority and powers from the DOJ, as he was appointed by Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Rod Rosenstein – not coincidentally a closet Democrat and President Barack Obama’s former U.S. attorney for the District of Maryland. Attorney General Jeff Sessions must have been smoking his “hated” marijuana, or been high or drunk on something else, when he chose Rosenstein as his No. 2. A worse and more stupid choice could not have been made!..............Read more
Former UN Ambassador Power Submitted Hundreds of Unmasking Requests in 2016
By Jason Devaney Newsmax September 21, 2017
On Friday, September 8, 2017 -- just before the weekend -- the DOJ announced that it would not prosecute Lois Lerner for her part in the IRS-Tea Party scandal. Evidence of Lerner's guilt is overwhelming. As Peter Roskam (R, Il), chairman of the House Tax policy subcommittee, stated in response to the DOJ's declination, The decision not to prosecute Lois Lerner is a miscarriage of justice. On top of Ms. Lerner’s actions against taxpayers -- denying tax-exempt status to groups for political gain and failing to protect taxpayer information -- the Department’s response blatantly ignores our most troubling finding: that Ms. Lerner intentionally misled federal investigators in a flagrant violation of the law. This is unacceptable and Ms. Lerner must be held accountable. Our democracy is injured when those who taxpayers entrust with great authority ignore the law to advance their own political agenda without repercussion. Yet the DOJ letter, signed by a Stephen E. Boyd, claims that after having reviewed the matter, that "reopening the investigation would not be appropriate based on the available evidence," specifically focusing on the lack of evidence of intent to discriminate.......... It's clear the Justice Department and the IRS discriminated against conservatives and favored liberals. It's clear they performed illegal acts. It's clear the current set up at the Justice Department isn't much better and possibly just as bad. If Lerner had noting to hide why did she hide behind the 5th amendment? Why did they let her get away with this since she had already testified in her own behalf by making a statement under oath, which precluded any future claim of 5th amendment protection. At least that's the way I see it. If someone else has a different take on this please post it. But I think something really stinks.

Jeff Sessions, our current attorney general, is a nice man who I call Jeff as he calls me Larry...........
But when it comes to Jeff and his predicament, I have to put my regional and political ideologies aside and talk straight. Simply put, the man has not done his job; nor has he implemented what he has done in an intelligent manner, having been indirectly responsible for the appointment of Special Counsel Robert Mueller.............If Jeff is not willing to put his own personal and professional interests aside — and he shows no inclination to do so — he must do what is best for the nation and simply step down as attorney general? Given his refusal to even entertain a review of the Sheriff Joe Apraio and Cliven Bundy political prosecutions commenced by his predecessor Loretta Lynch under watchful eye of and obvious direction of President Obama, which I requested before President Trump, who apparently requested the same thing but was also shown the back of Jeff’s timid hand, had to step in and pardon the sheriff, this “litmus test of cowardice” tells the tale............Attorney General Jeff Sessions has become an ineffective Republican establishment elephant and while this is sad, it's time for him to go.............To Read More....

Mueller must be removed, disbarred, prosecuted

Samantha Power, a U.S. ambassador to the United Nations under former President Barack Obama, put in more than 260 unmasking requests regarding intelligence reports last year — and submitted others just days before President Donald Trump was inaugurated. Fox News reported Wednesday that Power's rate of unmasking requests was more than one per day of the work week. Many of those requests reportedly occurred in the latter part of 2016. Robert Mueller and the Sorcerer’s Apprentice

Did President Trump have a right to be annoyed with Jeff Sessions for recusing himself? A plausible case can be made that Sessions didn’t have to do it, but then there’s an equally plausible case that he did. The real grounds for criticizing Sessions lie elsewhere: once he decided that he would need to recuse himself, Sessions had a duty to make sure that a replacement was on hand who was up to the task that Sessions had sidestepped. That he did not do. Rod Rosenstein has made one grievous mistake after another, with no end in sight............More

Klayman Discusses Mueller's Investigation
CONFIRMED: Comey Decided He Wasn't Going to Refer Hillary for Prosecution Long Before FBI Investigation Was Over
By Katie Pavlich
Townhall
August 31, 2017
"According to the unredacted portions of the transcripts, it appears that in April or early May of 2016, Mr. Comey had already decided he would issue a statement exonerating Secretary Clinton. That was long before FBI agents finished their work. Mr. Comey even circulated an early draft statement to select members of senior FBI leadership. The outcome of an investigation should not be prejudged while FBI agents are still hard at work trying to gather the facts," the letter, signed by Chairman Chuck Grassley and Committee member Lindsey Graham states. "Conclusion first, fact-gathering second—that's no way to run an investigation. The FBI should be held to a higher standard than that, especially in a matter of such great public interest and controversy."
"It is unclear whether the FBI agents actually investigating the case were aware that Mr. Comey had already decided on the investigation's outcome while their work was ongoing. However, it appears that the answer to that question may be underneath some of the extensive redactions that the Department made to the transcripts," the letter continues........Continue Reading.....

Freedom Watch Files Lawsuit vs. Antifa, Berkeley
Case Over Violent Attack on Trump Supporter Peaceful Attendee to Conservative Speaker
(San Francisco, Ca. August 29, 2017). Today, Larry Klayman, the founder of Freedom Watch and a former federal prosecutor, announced the filing of a lawsuit against the radical leftist hate group Antifa in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. The complaint, which bears civil action no. 3:17-cv-04864-MEJ, is embedded below and can also be founded at www.freedomwatchusa.org. The University of California at Berkeley, the scene of much of this leftist violence designed to destabilize and tear down our democracy and destroy the nation, was also sued, along with its police department, which have stood by on orders and allowed this violence to be perpetrated. The plaintiff in this suit is Kiara Robles, a young gay woman who simply wanted to attend and listen to a speech by Milo Yiannopoulos, another gay person and conservative commentator, then working for Breitbart News. Instead she was physically attacked by Antifa and its hate-filled leftist storm troopers.
Klayman had this to say: "It's time that those who believe in free speech and non-violence stand up for their rights and not cower to the hateful rhetoric and violence of the left — furthered and supported by the radical leftist media -- which are designed to take down the republic and install a "Bolshevik style" dictatorship. In the last weeks, we have seen that anyone who opposes these hateful and dangerous violent vigilantes — the equivalent of Neo-Nazis, the Klan, the New Black Panthers Party, Nation of Islam and elements of Black Lives Matter -- are shouted down and viciously attacked physically. This lawsuit will fight back and hit against those who are bent on igniting a new "civil war" and in order that the nation, and thus our democracy and freedoms, go up in flames. Kiara Robles was the victim yesterday, but you and your loved ones could be the victims of the likes of Antifa and its comrades tomorrow."

Sessions Bails out Again, This Time on Arpaio
By Larry Klayman
Newsmax
August 28, 2017
Sheriff Joe Arpaio is a true American patriot who I am proud to call my friend. He was also my client when he singlehandedly, in a lawsuit which I filed on his behalf, was the first to challenge the executive order of former President Barack Obama effectively granting amnesty to over 5 million illegal immigrants. We ultimately won this legal challenge, and deep-sixed Obama's illegal amnesty, the matter going all the way to the Supreme Court. The man has guts, and this is why he is called "America's Sheriff."
But last fall, Sheriff Joe was victimized by a political hit job at the hands of a federal judge in the district of Arizona. This jurist, G. Murray Snow, had previously told his wife that he would "destroy" Arpaio in a civil contempt lawsuit brought by the ACLU and its counsel Covington & Burling, not coincidentally the law firm of Eric Holder, Obama's former attorney general. In front of witnesses in a Phoenix restaurant, Snow's wife then loudly boasted about her husband's threat........Continue Reading.....

The Real Threat to Our Republic Is the Orwellian Antifa
By Ned Ryun, opinion contributor
TheHill
August 28, 2017
Over the past few months, we have finally entered the fully realized historical revisionism promised in George Orwell's "1984," in which the motto, "Who controls the present controls the past. Who controls the past controls the future," was central to shaping the book's dystopian world. In the book, history was continually being rewritten and re-promulgated to meet the political necessities of the moment. There was no history to be remembered, let alone lessons to be learned.
For all the talk of Trumpian bluster or exaggeration, there is only one group that seeks to systematically and violently achieve its goals here in the United States on a broad scale: the so-called "anti-fascist" movement, now commonly called "Antifa." And the goal? It's not "anti-fascist" or "anti-racist" as they attempt to portray themselves. It's the systematic elimination of free speech, free assembly, and free thought via any means necessary, including violent protest, the media and Orwellian revisionism............Continue Reading.....

President Trump and His Department of Justice: A Clash That Should Not Be
Judge Andrew Napolitano Jul 27, 2017
During the past two weeks, President Donald Trump has made no secret of his unhappiness at the management of the Department of Justice under Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Actually, Trump seems most agitated at the growing parts of the DOJ that are not under Sessions' management.
He is also angry that the trail of the well-known evidence of the crimes of his former opponent Hillary Clinton seems to have been vacated by the DOJ.
How is it that parts of the DOJ cannot be controlled by the attorney general, whom Trump appointed to run the DOJ? And with a mountain of evidence of Clinton's espionage -- her failure to safeguard state secrets, crimes far more treacherous than those alleged against Trump's campaign -- why has she not been prosecuted?

Jeff Sessions Is Indeed on the Way Out
Too much has come to a head against one of the honorable and dedicated men in the Trump administration.
Arnold Steinberg July 25, 2017
More than two thousand libertarians attended the annual Freedom Fest conference last weekend in Las Vegas. Numerous speakers focused their criticism of the Trump Administration on one man — Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
It wasn’t personal animus toward Jeff Sessions. Some of the speakers know him and like him. I even heard a few critical of Sessions to acknowledge that he is a “good and decent man” but he is “wrong…on issues that ‘libertarians care about.’”
More than one of his critics was even sympathetic — noting that Sessions was being subject to a “slow water torture” — unseemly and undignified, and even unfair to Sessions, that is the leaks, and even the past statements by President Donald Trump.
This weekend conference concluded before the most recent statement by POTUS. I myself have had occasion to relieve people of their responsibilities, that is, to fire them. But I would treat those people with respect and courtesy and surely not criticize them in semi-public.....To Read More....
My Take - Sessions had to recuse himself as a matter of law? Really? What law. I keep reading this but no one says what law requires it. I think that's a load of horsepucky. It's clear there's going to be a reckoning and at some point Senators are going to have to realize - they're not President of the United States. Mueller's gone and I now think Sessions is also gone sooner than I predicted.
Every President has saddled himself with appointees that needed to be fired but they were afraid it would be political suicide. Jimmy Carter is cited as such an example when he fired four cabinet heads, which they claim was an admission his administration was a mess and that's why he lost to Reagan. Baloney. He lost because he was an abject failure as a President.
I don't like all this public backstabbing either. If he's going to do it - do it now - and get if over with!

Trump tweets that Sessions should go after Clinton
Chris Pandolfo
President Donald Trump took to Twitter Monday morning to question why Congress and Attorney General Jeff Sessions have allowed the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s “crimes” and potential collusion with Russia to lapse............“Sessions should have never recused himself, and if he was going to recuse himself, he should have told me before he took the job, and I would have picked somebody else,” President Trump said......To Read More....
My Take - Everyone is shocked...shocked I tell you....but I'm not. This is Trump. He's telling the party, the administration and the world - I'm the boss - you people work for me and if I choose to criticize you publicly - you're going to take it, you're going to like it, or you can get out. And he's sending a notice to RINO's in the administration....you're on board or you're gone.
I can assure you - everyone will remember this - although at this point Sessions won't be fired, someone needs to be fired. There's nothing like a good firing to get everyone's head on straight. However, Sessions has lost the "benefit of the doubt" factor so it he can't sufficiently fix the Department of Justice and doesn't go after Hillary, Comey, Lynch, Podesta, Lois Lerner and that whole crowd for their violations of federal law - he's gone. If all these claims of corruption are to go away they need to start putting the Hillaryites in jail.
As for Mueller - he's gone! Trump is merely waiting for more to stand up and demand accountability for Mueller's fishing expedition and for more to call for his dismissal....but he's gone....and no matter how much the media and the left screams - Trump is going to simply ignore them. The sooner he does it the better off he'll be.
