Disgraced swamp lobbyist Tony Podesta was supposedly all washed up.  He reportedly had shut down his powerhouse lobbying firm, The Podesta Group, in 2017, in the wake of its Ukraine scandal, executives fleeing, and prosecutors on his tail.  

It was billed as "powerhouse to poorhouse," given that his firm was reportedly making $24 million a year.  Nevertheless, the press declared he had faded from the scene.  His Wikipedia page declares he was "formerly" one of Washington's most important lobbyists and fundraisers.  He'd supposedly retreated into...buying and selling and "gifting" fine art, which, in the Biden era, is interesting.

Aside from art, Podesta's kept busy.  Business, in fact, is booming.  And for America, that's bad news.

One Of The Four Horsemen of The Alternative Doesn't Like Us, And More Media Links

1. Dr. Gary Null, one of the Four Horsemen of the Alternative (along with Oz, Chopra and Weil), is now most famous for hosting a conspiracy theory radio program and producing straight-to-video movies funded by organic food groups.

Environmental Working Group has never produced a science study but they have overturned 500,000 biologists, according to Null, while the US EPA, which just cleared glyphosate of weird claims made by an IARC Working Group that was hijacked by an Environmental Defense Fund consultant, is secretly suppressing damaging data about Monsanto.

He makes even wackier claims, like that former FDA official and current ACSH friend Dr. Henry I Miller, has "a history of denying smoking’s association to cancer and heart disease" - his source for that specious claim, the website GMOSeralini.org, which is a puppet site created to support the known anti-GMO fraud Gilles-Eric Seralini. He gushes about the corporate mouthpiece US Right to Know, which he claims is "devoted to exposing what the food industry and Big Agriculture corporations such as Monsanto don’t want the public to know" - but leaves out that 97 percent of their funding is from the organic corporations they were created to support. What does Sourcewatch make of that fact? Nothing, because they are a political site devoted to undermining data and promoting the executive director's political party. She doesn't criticize US Right To Know because she serves on the board of US Right To Know. They are all Deniers For Hire, and the only people hiring them hate science.

Yet those two groups are his primary sources. Using that echo chamber, he further claims Genetic Literacy Project and University of California at Davis are secretly lobbying groups and that we are shills for Big Chemical, because we note there is nothing wrong with BPA - which the EPA also showed, along with every reputable science body. The only thing he left out of his random screed is that GMOs cause autism. There is no point in going on, Null is nuts. 2. You read last week about food activist Michael Pollan's unhinged, libelous jab at us. His lack of a clue is understandable, if slimy, because he hasn't learned anything in the last 25 years, however what is worse is another pseudo-journalist, this one at a site called Thrillist, doing the same thing while blatantly plagiarizing him. These people are paid little, they have to pump out a lot of volume and have pageview quotas. I get why stealing from the New York Times makes sense to companies like that, but it's still icky and will make it hard to get a job at a real media outlet.

3. Voice of America has joined in on calling on the corrupt UN to fix the mess it created in Haiti, citing our Dr. Julianna LeMieux.

Vaccinating all 10 million Haitians on the island would cost over $100 million, according to the American Council on Science and Health.
"That said, when you break something in a store, you have to buy it," Dr. Julianna LeMieux of ACSH wrote on their website. "It's time for the international body to give its health experts the financial support they need to correct the catastrophe it created."

5. Finally, Center for Inquiry covers what to us was the most interesting part of the Wikileaks release of John Podesta emails - his ongoing belief in magic, like that we are hiding a UFO conspiracy, that vaccines cause autism and GMOs cause everything else. Some people deny that certain science positions are held more strongly by one party - but the evidence is clear.

Also revealed, UFO enthusiast and Clinton campaign chair John Podesta is anti-GMO and holds some tiresome views about FDA and industry collusion to sidestep safety concerns.

New Podesta Email Exposes Playbook For Rigging Polls Through 'Oversamples'

Earlier this morning we wrote about the obvious sampling bias in the latest ABC / Washington Post poll that showed a 12-point national advantage for Hillary.  Like many of the recent polls from Reuters, ABC and The Washington Post, this latest poll included a 9-point sampling bias toward registered democrats. 

 

“METHODOLOGY – This ABC News poll was conducted by landline and cellular telephone Oct. 20-22, 2016, in English and Spanish, among a random national sample of 874 likely voters. Results have a margin of sampling error of 3.5 points, including the design effect. Partisan divisions are 36-27-31 percent, Democrats – Republicans – Independents.”

 

Of course, while democrats may enjoy a slight registration advantage of a couple of points, it is nowhere near the 9 points reflected in this latest poll......To Read More...

Was Hillary’s Secret Plan to Attack Climate Skeptics Exposed by Wikileaks?

On Tuesday, October 25, 2016, Wikileaks released a series of emails sent between Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman John Podesta, and the infamous “social change” media activist, David Fenton. The emails revealed a $3 million plan to attack the Wall Street Journal and Fox News Channel to put them ‘on the defensive’ about their realistic climate stand. The goal was to scare conservative politicians into supporting new government global warming rules and bans.

The series of emails WikiLeaks hacked from Podesta’s account shows that David Fenton thanked Podesta for a meeting on February 19, 2015. Fenton and sent him two emails documenting their conversation.

The first email said: “Here is the [Fenton Communications] plan to go after [the Wall Street Journal] and Fox [News Channel] on climate. I have 500,000 [dollars] of this pledged if I can raise another million.”

The plan, attached to the email, used “guerilla tactics,” budgeting $350,000 for groups including Friends of the Earth and Greenpeace for civil disobedience and social media campaigns, and $600,000 for advertisements in the Wall Street Journal and on the Fox News Channel. It would involve the creation of websites that disseminated true-believer views about climate change, and directly challenged the reporting in Rupert Murdoch’s Fox media.
Fenton’s email said:

“Fox News is the biggest single factor keeping almost 40% of Americans from believing humans are changing the climate, while only 10% know that 97% of climate scientists agree we are warming the earth at our peril. In some ways, the effect of the Wall Street Journal is even worse, as it sows regular confusion among its 3 million daily subscribers – business leaders and investors among the most influential people in the country.” [Murdoch’s companies also own the Wall Street Journal and he heads 21st Century Fox.]

Fenton continued his increasingly desperate email plea: “Unless and until the Journal and Murdoch are put on the defensive on climate change, opening political space for conservatives to come forward, it is unlikely that bipartisan efforts on climate change will be achieved in time.”
Part of Fenton’s plan involved “public shaming” of Murdoch so that his six children, who have more fanatic views on climate change, would have “leverage with their father”.

Clinton’s campaign has neither confirmed nor denied the authenticity of the Wikileaks emails, but has attacked what it said were Russian state actors involved in obtaining them. A Clinton campaign source dubbed the Wikileaks website a “propaganda arm of the Russian government” seeking to help elect the Republican nominee, Donald Trump, a conspiracy theory that serves as its own public shaming.

Fenton’s proposal to Podesta and its prime goal to “make Murdoch’s climate denial a major issue,” and “bring the scientific facts on climate change to his audiences,” was ironically released a day after an unwelcome story ran in London’s Daily Mail with the headline “Exposed: How top university helped secure £9million of YOUR money by passing off rivals’ research as its own… to bankroll climate change agenda.” So much for the integrity of “scientific facts on climate change.”
The Daily Caller covered the story for Americans:

“The UK government gave $11 million dollars to the Centre for Climate Change Economics and Policy (CCCEP) in exchange for research that the organization reportedly never actually did. Many papers CCCEP claimed to have published to get government money weren’t about global warming, were written before the organization was even founded, or were written by researchers unaffiliated with CCCEP. The government never checked CCCEP’s supposed publication lists, saying they were “taken on trust.”

According to The Daily Mail, “Academics whose work was misrepresented reacted with fury. Professor Richard Tol, a climate change economics expert from Sussex University, said: ‘It is serious misconduct to claim credit for a paper you haven’t supported, and it’s fraud to use that in a bid to renew a grant. I’ve never come across anything like it before. It stinks.’ ”

How could such a scandal begin? The chairman of the CCCEP since 2008 has been Lord Nicholas Stern, a militant global advocate for drastic action to combat climate change. He is also the president of the British Academy, an invitation-only society reserved for the academic elite. It disburses grants worth millions to researchers – and to Lord Stern’s own organization. Do we see the seeds of corrupt power here? Is this the beginning of another ClimateGate for the U.K.?

Meanwhile, the WikiLeaks emails between David Fenton and John Podesta show us only a proposal for a multi-million dollar attack against people with opposing but honestly held opinions, who are not given the right to those opinions – a signature mindset increasingly visible among intolerant progressives.

Fenton concluded his WikiLeaks email:

“We have let Rupert Murdoch get away with this atrocious behavior for too long. It’s time to make his endangerment of national and economic security a prominent, inescapable issue.”

Fenton is no scientist. His climate opinions are second hand, “taken on trust” from government science. Government science has been seen as the same type of oxymoron as military intelligence.

Evidently, Podesta did not take Fenton’s razzle-dazzle on trust. There is no evidence that Fenton’s $3 million campaign ever went ahead. To the contrary, climate change seems to be the poor stepchild of the 2016 election’s leading issue awards. If, somehow, the Fenton fantasy was actually put into action, it left the Wall Street Journal and Fox unscathed in their climate realism. Certainly, Rupert Murdoch doesn’t seem to be taking climate policy advice from his six offspring. So, perhaps David Fenton’s Wikileaks email plans are what the Roman Empire once referred to as brutum fulmen – harmless thunderbolt.

But do not underestimate the man. Fenton is remembered as the one who engineered the phony 1989 Alar “poison apples” scam with the Natural Resources Defense Council to wrongfully disparage hundreds of blameless orchardists into bankruptcy.

He gloated about it.

WikiLeaks, John Podesta, Hillary Clinton, and Blessed Pope Paul VI

When Blessed Pope Paul VI in 1972 affirmed his sense that “the smoke of Satan has entered the” Catholic Church, he may not have foreseen that alleged Catholic John Podesta, chairman of the 2016 Hillary Clinton presidential campaign, would work actively to subvert Catholic Church doctrine and moral authority.  Yet, that’s exactly what’s happening. The recently released WikiLeaks email messages make that clear.

This development, when considered along with Clinton’s well known anti-Catholic policy positions, makes it incumbent upon individual Catholic bishops and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) to inform Catholic faithful they cannot in good conscience vote for Hillary Clinton for president.

In a recent WikiLeaks drop of hacked emails, Podesta indicated he and his associates created two organizations, Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good and Catholics United. My Take - The writer is confused a bit.  Maybe he hasn't been following all the things the Pope has been saying since elevated to that post.  Or perhaps he's not noticed the positions taken by this nation's Catholic bishops, and not only Catholic bishops. The leadership in the nation's mainstream Christian churches are on the left, which I find totally confusing since the left promotes everything that's antithetical to Christian teachings making them....well.....heretics.....Right? Wikileaks Latest Podesta Email Dumps: 13 More Instances of Sleaze
