If There is No Truth, Then Neither Heresy Nor Treason Exist!

I originally published this on October 5, 2014, and again on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, and for some reason it's being hit a lot now.  As I read it I thought to myself; I need to re-publish this again.  Remember, this was published 12 years ago, and look at how dramatically and quickly American culture has morphed into a downward swirl of insanity.  

This article is about foundational thinking. For anything to be successful it has to have foundational logic supporting all that takes place. For America, the Bible and the U.S. Constitution are foundational to the American story and the basis for American exceptionalism. Those are the two foundations I wish to ponder here.  The Holy Bible and the U.S. Constitution and the modern implications for both.   

There was a recent poll of U.S. Catholics taken that claims most Catholics back same-sex marriage claiming In an article by Lucy Madison which appeared on March 8, 2013 she states that:

"amid growing support for same-sex marriage nationwide, a new poll from Quinnipiac University shows that most Catholics in the U.S. also back same-sex marriage, despite the church's teachings against it."

She goes on to say that:

"According to the poll, which surveyed 497 adult Catholics from February 27 - March 4 with a margin of error of +/- 4.4 percent, 54 percent of Catholic voters support same-sex marriage, while 38 percent oppose it. The survey shows a dramatic shift on the subject in the last few years: In a July 2008 poll by Quinnipiac, only 36 percent of Catholic voters said they supported same-sex marriage, while 55 percent opposed it."

Among 1,944 registered voters surveyed in the same poll, 47 percent supported same-sex marriage and 43 percent opposed it. A December poll asking the same question showed a statistical tie on the issue, at 48 percent in support and 46 percent in opposition." 

I'm not all that impressed with polls because they are so easily twisted, but for my readers who are believers, Catholic or otherwise, I think this is worth pondering for a while.  If this poll is accurate, it would appear heresy is far more rampant than most realized. It would also appear that religious conviction is expected to adhere to public opinion, which was predicted.  

"For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear".  2 Timothy 4:3

Does this imply they don't believe the hand of God is behind the Bible?  If that is the case, and it appears that it is, what hope is there to get people to honor a manmade document such as the U.S. Constitution?

Believers are taught to believe the Bible was inspired by God.  You know, the one believers are supposed to be worshiping. Yet, thousands of years of Biblical writings and teaching are being ignored or twisted by those who claim to believe. If that is the case, and it appears that it is, then one would suppose there are a great many "believers" who think God lies, or he has no idea what he's talking about, or that the writings are solely the works of men, or at the very least, question even if he exists.  All that makes the Bible of no more worth than the insane ramblings of Karl Marx.   If that's so, and it appears it is, then they simply ignore the Biblical teachings and replace them with which ever philosophical flavor of the day comes down the pike. 

Truth exists, whether we like it or not. We don’t create truth; we find it, and we have no power to change it to our tastes. The truth may not make us comfortable, but it does make us free. How could such a thing happen in a nation known for its Christian religious foundation? This has happened slowly over a course of decades. This came about because the Bible, and the surrounding history and commentaries aren't taught in the churches, and neither is it done at home. All of which was done regularly in the past. Thousands of years of Biblical writings and teaching are being ignored or twisted.  

Public and higher education has been instrumental in undermining those traditional and foundational values that made the American culture possible.   Was the American culture ever perfect?  No, but with all our faults, still the greatest culture the world has ever known, bringing more people out of misery and suffering than any other in all of human history.  America never offered perfection.  What America offered the most acceptable imperfection.

Sir Roger Scruton once noted:

A writer who says there are no truths, or that all truth is merely relative, is asking you not to believe him.  So don't.   So then why is society choosing to believe those who shouldn't be believed, and ignoring those who need to be believed?   

Now we come to the finest secular document ever conceived of by man, the U.S. Constitution, which isn't studied in the nation's schools, nor is it read privately, which is far more easily read and understood than the sixty six books of the Bible, yet few have read it, fewer understand it, and as a result, few realize what's been lost.  

That leaves one to believe the Constitution, the second primary foundation to justify the American system, has little value to the average citizen because the history behind it is being twisted or ignored. Once again; the Bible and the U.S. Constitution are foundational to the American story and the basis for American exceptionalism.  If either one is discarded the great American experiment is finished.  

John Adams said, “Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” Morality and virtue are the foundation of our republic and necessary for a society to be free.

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” Matt. 7:26  

Everyone, believer or non-believer, can surely see the wisdom in that parable. Everything has a historical foundation, and everything we are told should bear some resemblance to what we see going on in reality. But, it really is incumbent upon us to pay just a “tiny little bit of attention” to what is going on for that to have any meaning in our lives. And from talking to so many people I truly think believers and non-believers alike fear a storm is coming. 

There is one more point I would like for everyone to ponder for a while. If one claims to be a believer and yet supports views that are antithetical to their belief system it's called heresy. 

If one claims to be an American yet works to undermine the U.S. Constitution, what exactly is that called? We used to call it treason.   

Final thought.

While Sir Roger Scruton was English, his comments strike deeply into the heart of all these destructive current events, not only in England, but in America and the entirety of Western civilization.

Will you stand by the gnarled oak of Englishness or will you bring on the bulldozers of soulless modernity?  Can you appreciate beauty or are you an enraged devotee of contemporary art? Do you want wholesome food or tasteless, shrink-wrapped crap? Do you care about western civilization or would you be happy to see it demolished. Are you one of us, or one of them?"

Will Americans stand by the solid and stable foundation of the Constitution, or embrace insanity and destruction? That's the entirely of it all.

Heresy, Hypocrisy, Persecution, and Lunacy Incorporated

Let's start with heresy and hypocrisy.  

Recently Andrea Widburg published this piece over at American Thinker, The continued decline of the morally bankrupt Church of England saying "over the years, the Church of England has":

  1. Ordained women as priests (which is unbiblical).
  2. Ended all limitations on women serving in the church hierarchy. The current Archbishop of Canterbury (the head of the Church of England) is Sarah Mullally, who sort of supports same-sex relationships (unbiblical), is sort of pro-choice (un-traditional-Christian), and is very pro-refugee (anti-British). (Amazingly, she is opposed to assisted suicide.)
  3. Approved of homosexuality as an acceptable behavior among the faithful.
  4. Authorized the church to bless homosexual unions.
  5. Allowed openly gay priests into the clergy.
  6. Became very supportive of so-called transgenderism.
  7. Went (and still goes) the extra mile for ecumenical relationships with Islam.

Given that the Church has allowed itself to be led by popular culture, rather than standing as a bulwark of firmly held Christian beliefs, it’s probably no surprise that only 10% of British people identify as members of the Church of England, with only 1% attending church every week. Once it became the Church of the BBC, it ceased to have spiritual value.

Well, it's not just the Anglican Church, Heretics Leave a Moral Foundation of Quicksand. The mainstream religions claiming to be Christian are twisting themselves into knots in an effort to appease people who don’t believe, and who rarely attend or don’t attend at all. There is no vile heresy they’re not embracing. Clearly they’re heretics, and if people are what they do, then secretly they must be atheists. Can there be any other conclusion? 

At this point we may be seeing a modern schism developing in the Catholic Church, There are a great many who claim Pope Leo's views on immigration are those of a leftist politician and have nothing to do with the gospel.  The Vatican  rejects that claim saying his views "are official ‘proclamations of the gospel."  There was at time when the Pope understood there was no harmony between Christianity and communism, and "excommunicated all communist Catholics in 1949."  There was a time when it was understood there could be no harmony between Christianity and Islam.  

Right now there appears to be a schism in the making as Cardinal Victor Fernandez excommunicated those who belong to the Society of Saint Pius X for appointing bishops without the approval of the Vatican, calling them schismatic.  Now, prelates and Catholic clergy who are not members of  the SSPX are saying that action is null because:

"Fernandez and those working with him are schismatics themselves. It is no secret that 80 percent of Vatican clergy are homosexuals and that both Fernandez and Leo are responsible for the rampant spread of LGBTQ in Rome and beyond..............  “In the Vatican, however, key positions are increasingly being occupied by people who have been completely corrupted by the world and who have been placed there [by Francis and Leo] in order to destroy the Catholic Church down to its very roots. They are the ones who should be excommunicated, because they no longer have anything at all in common with the Church of Christ.”

So, we've covered heresy, hypocrisy, now let's cover persecution.  

In China, which is one of the world's worst human rights violators as Communist China is a pariah, it’s time to treat it like one.  Xi is seeing a growing Christian movement in China so he arrested a prominent pastor hoping to halt this movement.  It's not working and Xi is going full blast to be a modern Mao arresting Christians who refuse to bend the knee the cult of Xi.  The pastor has since been released but that's not changing Xi's persecution of Christians.

Nigeria is now, and has been for some time, a nightmare of genocide for Christians.  Muslims are killing 35 Christians a day and it's estimated between 5,000 and 10,000 Christians are murdered by Muslims each year, and their corrupt government is doing little about it.  And not one word from the wokesters about genocide.  In this case it's provable genocide versus of the propaganda touted by Democrats, Islamophiles and their media cats paws about Gaza.    

We've covered heresy, hypocrisy, persecution, so now let's cover lunacy.  

Did you know that God doesn't like America?  That blacks are God's chosen people?  That race baiters are the new apostles?   Yessir, and we know this is so because Senator Warnock told us so claiming: 

.............. in a sermon on Sunday that God sent a thunderstorm to the National Mall in Washington, DC on July 4 to force people who were “telling themselves a bunch of lies” about the greatness of the United States into the African-American History Museum.

But when it comes to lunacy, even Warnock can't begin to outdo James Talarico who now claims Christians are ‘Christofascists’ and Islam is a “path to truth”.  Yessir, he's really got a handle on faith, and how to win Texans over.

Heretics Leave a Moral Foundation of Quicksand

Susan Quinn over a American Thinker posted this article, People are returning to church, on May 15,  and I posted the following comment.  

While I’m a firm believer that a return to the Judaic/Christian principles and practices is essential to turning the nation around, I have misgivings. I have to wonder if the leaders of these churches a capable of doing that. What are they’re teaching? What do they believe? Do they even believe in the Bible and God?

Churches across all of Western civilization are twisting themselves into shapes no apostle would recognize — bending like pretzels to please a secular society. "They update doctrines, rewrite homilies, and water down long-held beliefs, all in hopes of attracting people who rarely show up anyway".

Now the Church of England has chosen its new leader: Dame Sarah Mullally, "hailed as a “theological liberal” and celebrated for her progressive stances. But it raises a fair question: Does the Archbishop believe in the Christianity she is meant to lead, or only in a softened imitation of it?"  Since it's clear they don't believe the Bible is God's word, perhaps they should be asked if they believe there is a God? If people are what they do, then their actions say ... no!

Catholics aren’t the only ones hedging on leftist heresy such as abortion, the United Church of Christ called abortion health care. One rabbi claimed his religion made him pro-abortion. M. B. Mathews says, American Churches are Killing Christianity. There’s a reason why public trust in churches has fallen. 
 
As for me, I hate throwing a wet towel on this very positive article, but I consider myself optimistically pessimistic at the outcome, and these articles lend credibility to my view.

What follows is from an article I originally published on Monday, January 6, 2020, it's being hit for some reason, and perhaps it's because of what we're seeing from these leaders of their religions, and as I've demonstrated, it's not pretty.   
 
On January 5, 2020 Andrew Harrod posted the article, "The Episcopal Church's Fruits of Heresy" saying:
“This church has about 30 more years before it is dead,” stated one young man at a 2016 forum at the Virginia Theological Seminary (VTS) in Alexandria, Virginia, as quoted in the recent book The Seduction of the Episcopal Church.  Therein Anglican author David Virtue, a longtime critical observer of worldwide Anglicanism, reviews the Episcopal Church’s decades-long fall from grace in an exposé of Christian folly in accommodating a secularized, sexualized modernity.
He goes on to say:
“Spiritual and ecclesiastical death marks the present and future state of this denomination” today as Episcopal Church membership has cratered from a 1966 peak of 3,647,297, to 1,676,349 in 2018.  Particularly the 2003 consecration of noncelibate homosexual V. Gene Robinson as an Episcopal bishop unleashed an “ecclesiastical tsunami wave” and the “worst single outflow of Episcopalians in modern history,” over 100,000......Largely due to his lobbyist “inglorious victory for one man,” the “Church had gone from thoroughly heterosexual to pansexual in one generation,” Virtue notes, a “feat that present day cultural Marxists could only stand back and admire.”...........
The article goes on to describe the depth of heresy to which these Bishops have plunged this church.  The article ends with saying this church will pretty much cease to exist with-in two generations.  That's being optimistic in my opinion, and demographics are going to play a huge, huge, role in the demise of these religions.  He goes on to say:
"now other Christians must heed this writing on the wall."
That's not going to happen, and this church isn't alone in its heresy, it's part of the herd of heretic secularists who infest these religions, as demonstrated in this article, Methodists propose split over LGBTQ impasse, and this article, Pope is a Heretic Because of Views on Homosexuality and Abortion, Catholic Group Says, and here, Now I Know What's Wrong With Sweden!, and that's a mere token representation of what's going on.  This article, Meet God’s Communists, demonstrates how this occurred saying: 
The United States is a deeply religious country. Very early on, the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) realized that if the United States was ever to be brought to socialism, religion would have to be harnessed to the task. 
Enter the CPUSA’s Religion Commission, where socialist pastors, religious academics, and laypeople network to spread Marxist ideas through their churches, synagogues, temples, and mosques. 
As the United States is primarily a Christian country, the communists began to infiltrate churches, seminaries, and theological colleges even before the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917.
Those so-called "mainstream Christian churches" have been co-opted, at the highest levels, by left wing atheists determined to destroy the foundation for Western culture, Bible based Judaic/Christian values and principles, going back to the beginning of the 20th century by Stalinist agents. What has been the result after all these decades of heretical implementation of politically correct leftist thought?
“We can see how many of the Euro-Atlantic countries are actually rejecting their roots, including the Christian values that constitute the basis of Western civilization,” he said at a conference in 2013. “They are denying moral principles and all traditional identities: national, cultural, religious, and even sexual … They are implementing policies that equate large families with same-sex partnerships, belief in God with the belief in Satan.” By succumbing to secularism, he noted on another occasion, the West was trending toward “chaotic darkness” and a “return to a primitive state.”
How do I know these "religionists" are atheists? Because people are what they do.

They've worked diligently to destroy Biblical authority and credibility by siding with "higher critics" of the Bible.  Criticism that's easily overcome by ardent students of history and the Bible, which is what they're supposed to be.  They don't study the Bible, their Seminaries mostly don't teach the Bible, they don't defend the Bible, they don't understand the Bible and they don't believe the Bible. Ask any one of them to intelligently defend against the Theory of Evolution.  It won't happen,  Yet a mere bug man can make a rational, intelligent and science based argument against Evolution that an atheist scientist friend called "brilliant'. 

If they work so hard to undermine that which is supposed to be the moral, intellectual, and philosophical foundation of their faith, it simply means they don't believe in their faith, which has to mean they're lying about being believers.  No matter what they publicly proclaim, they're functionally atheists.

Atheists who then claim they do good work! Well, here's the reality of their so-called good works as outlined in Matthew Chapter 7, starting with verse 15:
  • 15: “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.
  • 16. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
  • 17. Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.
  • 18. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.
  • 19. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
  • 20. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.
  • 21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
  • 22.  Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’
  • 23. Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
Whether you are a believer or a non-believer, it can't be disputed these wolves have been devouring their flocks of faithful sheep.  Everything they do undermines everything that's foundational to Western civilization.  Stalin would be proud!

But I have no doubt society is now taking, and will continue take, this emotional and intellectual stand: "If this is what you stand for, who needs you?"

Definition leads to clarity! What we need is a good dose of clarity. It's clear, if allowed to continue, they've doomed their religions, Western Civilization and society as a whole to whatever left wing philosophical flavor of the day that becomes the popular narrative.

They will leave in their wake of heresy a foundation of quicksand.

That Sound You Hear is Civilization Crashing

One of my favorite movies is A Man for All Seasons, the Paul Scofield version, which I wish appeared more often.   This movie presents Sir Thomas More to be a man courage, knowledge, intelligence and impeccable logic, dealing with the issue of King Henry VIII and his abandonment of his wife in order to marry another who could provide a son and heir.  More was arrested and put on trial for treason.  

During the trial Richard Rich, having sworn under oath to tell the truth, lied about Sir Thomas, a lie which condemned him. Although the outcome was predetermined this lie gave cover to justify the death sentence.
 
Sir Thomas More commented, "In good faith, Rich, I am sorrier for your perjury than my peril". As Rich was walking away from the witness stand, Sir Thomas says, "I have one question to ask the witness. That's a chain of office you are wearing. May I see it? The red dragon. What's this?" Cromwell replies, "Sir Richard is appointed Attorney-General for Wales". More says, "For Wales? Why, Richard, it profits a man nothing to give his soul for the whole world . . . But for Wales!" 
 
Thomas Cromwell was the chief enforcer for Henry VIII, and during his time England broke with the papacy and thus came one of the largest transfers of wealth in the history of England. The King, now the Supreme Head of the Church of England, transferred all the property belonging to the monasteries into his hands, which was about a third of all the land in England.” 
 
When I see what passes for integrity in politics, I can't help but see Scofield in my mind saying, "But Richard, for Wales"! And I shake my head chuckle to myself.  
 
Being a man for all seasons isn't for the faint of heart and it requires a strong moral foundation that's hard to maintain once in politics, assuming it was there in the first place.  
Western civilization is crashing, and the leaders of the west are responsible, including the religious leaders of the main line churches, and Henry VIII's Anglican Church, which has been a far left bastion for many decades, is in the news big time now.  
 
Churches across the West are twisting themselves into shapes no apostle would recognize — bending like pretzels to please a secular society. The Anglican Communion is now in schism, crashing over the woke ideology being embraced by the home church in England by their appointment of a woman as the Archbishop of Canterbury, a pro-choice feminist and a supporter of LGBT inclusion Here, Here, and Here as the Global Fellowship of Confessing Anglicans have excommunicated pro-LGBT clergy, including Archbishop of Canterbury. It's being claimed the Anglican Church could now lose 40 million members.
 
In Denver a minister of the First Baptist Church says abortion protects children's lives, and ya gotta read the demented rationale for yourself.   The left keeps using logical fallacies to try and make insanity seem rational. Conservatives are not so much pro-life, as they’re anti-abortion. There’s a difference between murdering the innocent unborn and executing guilty criminals who’ve committed murder.  Conservative support of the death penalty is in reality a pro-life position since they’re executing murders who’ve taken innocent lives, and if allowed to go free would continue to take innocent lives.
 
The United Methodist Church in Milwaukee describes itself as: “Jesus Rooted, Justice Centered, Radically Inclusive,” a Q Worship Collective describes them as “a church that is being recreated and reimagined by people who were historically denied access to traditional Christian leadership”, playing a lesbian love song for worship. 

When Pope Francis died and Pope Leo XIV was installed there was a lot of discussion over whether or not he was an acolyte of Pope Francis.   It was my view he wouldn't have been chosen if he wasn't....and he is.  
 
As you read my list of Pope Francis' actions and views, you will find Leo XIV and Francis are in total harmony. He's against deportation supporting open borders, irrespective of the human disaster open migration has caused in Europe.  Seems to think abortion is ok, but the death penalty is wrong, embraces all the far left environmental insanities, especially the mass scientific fraud of global warming by blessing a  block of ice.  Imagine that!  One writer asks, if people can remember when the concern of Popes was on saving souls and not blocks of ice.  But now he's gone a step farther.  He's put  a Muslim prayer room in the Vatican.  While some may view this as inclusion, Muslims view this as victory over their historical enemy, and one they still wish to destroy.  
 
For the Pope to take such irrational positions shows he really is a Pope Francis acolyte, but let’s not kid ourselves, this is a pattern playing out all over the world with “Christian” church leaders like the new Archbishop of Canterbury, twisting Christianity into shapes neither Christ nor his apostles would recognize or approve of, in an attempt to appeal to people who don’t believe, won't support, and in point of fact hate Christianity.
 
Western civilization is predicated on Judaic/Christian values and principles, to which Islam is totally antithetical.  All around the western world these nation's leaders are destroying their cultures with immigration of Muslims who hate western civilization, who are not assimilating, and do not want to assimilate.   Immigrants that are mostly made up by single young men, with a penchant to violence, rape, murder, and theft, all acceptable to Islam against the infidel.
Years ago I predicted that at some point Europeans are going to revolt against these abuses, and that's now happening in Ireland, the UK, France, Germany, and it will spread, it will grow, and if these elitist European run governments aren't kicked out the violence will grow and be almost impossible to contain. 
 
This is Sharia.

  • Spain Surrenders Christianity: Priest Faces 3 Years in Prison - Spain is preparing to make history—for all the wrong reasons. On October 1, 2025, Father Custodio Ballester, a priest of the Archdiocese of Barcelona, stood before the Provincial Court of Málaga, accused of committing a so-called “hate crime” for criticizing Islam. He now faces three years in prison and a period of eight years’ disqualification from teaching. Pope Leo May Be the Most Radical Pope Yet

Pope Leo XIV met Arnold Schwarzenegger at the papal summer residence, and then urged the green faithful to undergo a “true ecological conversion” and to “listen to the cry of the Earth.”

The new pope quoted his predecessor’s condemnation of climate unbelievers who have chosen to “deride the evident signs of climate change” and “ridicule those who speak of global warming”.

Then he blessed a chunk of ice.

The elevation of environmentalism to the level of doctrine, the pseudo-pagan deification of the earth and the implication that those who do not believe in the environmental movement are heretics who need to undergo a conversion “that transforms both personal and communal lifestyles” which he equated to a conversion to Christianity and the claim that failure to participate in made it impossible for anyone to call themselves “disciples of Jesus Christ” were radical positions, but the real radicalism lay in the infrastructure of leftist political organizing.

Pope Leo’s attacks on ‘climate blasphemy’ were accompanied by a meeting with “environmental activists” and urgings for “everyone in society” to put “pressure on governments to develop and implement more rigorous regulations, procedures and controls.”

If anyone thought that the scenes out of Castel Gandolfo in early October were a one-time event they were soon followed by an exact replica as the pope met with American pro-illegal alien activists, who put on a show, complete with letters from illegal aliens and a video presentation.

“The Church cannot stay silent before injustice,” Pope Leo said, and urged the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, which is already pro-illegal alien, to take an even stronger stance against immigration enforcement. “I mean, even within the conference, there are challenges. That’s one place they should be … I wish they were stronger in their own voice,” he complained.

The scenes roughly a week apart signaled that Pope Leo intends to pull the Catholic Church even further leftward than his predecessor and that he intends to operationalize its resources to pressure governments, including the United States, to adopt his radical political positions on global warming, open borders and other elements of the leftist program..

In recent weeks, Pope Leo, who started out promising to unite the church, championed illegal mass migration, defended a pro-abortion Dem, claimed that anyone opposed to open borders could not be pro-life, upheld the sacredness of environmentalism and denounced the free market in terms that sounded drawn from socialist texts rather than traditionally Christian ones.

His apostolic exhortation didn’t just call for aiding the poor, but launched a vitriolic attack, blaming poverty on “ideologies that defend the absolute autonomy of the marketplace and financial speculation” accusing supporters of free enterprise of maintaining a “dictatorship that kills”, complaining that they “they reject the right of states… to exercise any form of control.”

What “forms of control” was Pope Leo proposing? Most European nations are already socialist to varying degrees, have high taxes and offer extensive government services. A clue can be found when he suggests that the greatest problem is the “the present model of distribution, where a minority believes that it has the right to consume in a way which can never be universalized.” ‘Equality’ would then mean that all of us should live at the consumption level of Sub-Saharan Africa and the state should take as much from us as would make that possible.

This isn’t Catholicism: it’s Communism complete with a smattering of Marxist talking points.

Pope Leo sneered at those who believe that “a free market economy will automatically solve the problem of poverty” and attacked ‘trickle down economics’, claiming that “the poor are promised only a few drops that trickle down”, advocating a resolution of the “structural causes of poverty” which he described as “inequality”. The pope called for “unjust structures” to be “eradicated” and rejected a “specious view of meritocracy” by expecting people to aspire to self-improvement.

Wealth redistribution doesn’t help the poor, as the Soviet Union demonstrated, but it does punish people for their success and it’s a useful vehicle for transforming the world.

And that appears to be what Pope Leo wants. Even when it would destroy the Catholic Church.

In between his push for global warming and mass migration into the United States, Pope Leo issued a call to do everything possible to enable the Muslim conquest of Europe.

Even as Muslim boats carrying military age male migrants were penetrating European coastlines, Pope Leo warned that “those boats… cannot and must not find the coldness of indifference or the stigma of discrimination!” All were called on to “work in the service of migrants” without “stereotypes and prejudices”. Or apparently self-defense and survival.

“To migrants I say: know that you are always welcome!” he declared, despite the ravages that Islamic mass migration had already inflicted on Europe, claiming that this would sustain a “Christianity that is more open, more alive and more dynamic” when in reality it was dooming a Christianity that was already on the decline to subservience to a hostile invading religion.

This followed his endorsement of Lampedusa, an Italian island, on the front lines of the Muslim invasion of Europe, as a positive symbol, rather than the new ‘Gates of Vienna’, condemning “loud arguments, ancient fears and unjust policies” by those who oppose mass migration, and celebrating the Muslim invaders as “seeds from which a new world longs to sprout.”

These ‘seeds’ would wipe out Christianity, but to Pope Leo, as to many liberal Christian and Jewish clergy, Christianity and religion in general appears to be a means to a leftist end. When religion is just a vehicle for social justice and the sum of its teachings amount to little more than an imperative to build a more ‘just’ society through the prescriptions of Marxism, the religion and its institutions can be sacrificed on the altar of social justice so that a better world may arise.

But what is striking about Pope Leo is how his rhetoric tends to be wedded to leftist activist groups and how much it seems like a collection of NPR talking points rather than religious ones.

After coming out for open borders, global warming, Muslim mass migration, and a pro-abortion politician (while also taking the time to condemn the Trump administration for renaming Secretary of Defense to Secretary of War, Pope Leo still found the time to celebrate the media.

Meeting with a media group, Pope Leo urged citizens to “value and support” the mainstream media, condemning “unfair competition” and “clickbait”, and claiming that it serves as a “bulwark” against “post-truth”. The term, like so many others, was revealing, having come into vogue among liberals around the Brexit/Trump era and was used to justify mass censorship.

“If today we know what is happening in Gaza, Ukraine, and every other land bloodied by bombs, we largely owe it to them,” the pope claimed. If anything, we know very little about what is actually happening in Gaza and Ukraine because of the media’s propaganda.

Considering the media’s attacks on the Catholic Church, Pope Leo’s enthusiasm for the church’s enemies seems a little odd, but it’s not at all surprising for a dedicated leftist.

Pope Leo’s championing of the media is convenient because all of his positions are cliches that could just as easily have appeared on an hour of NPR minus the theology and references. To know what his position on any issue is, don’t open the bible, open the New York Times.

Conservative Catholics hoping for a more moderate post-Francis papacy have found themselves stuck with a man who may be the most radical pope to date and whose American background makes his politics all too familiar and all too trite. But the growing radicalism has been matched by Pope Leo’s weaponization of radical groups to move forward his agenda.

And that agenda is bad for America, bad for the Catholic Church and bad for Christianity.

Christian Persecution: A Worldwide Horror Story That's Growing in Frequency and Intensity, Part VII

I'm going to start this article with this quote from an article I read some time in the past. However, I didn't link it, nor do remember who said it, but I think it's a good start to this piece, so I'm going to use it as it outlines what's going on in general all over the world. 

For decades, evangelical Christianity championed Israel and religious freedom. As a result, it often found itself clashing with supremacist strands of Islam. Deep concern over Christian persecution largely in Muslim-majority countries post-Soviet collapse fueled wariness of political Islam's aggressive forms. 

Recently, things have begun to shift. Some evangelical institutions in the US have begun to embrace woke ideologies, softening their stance on Islamism. Meanwhile, as evangelicalism wanes in the U.S. it is surging in the global south. There, Christians face radical Islam head-on, and staunchly pro-Israel positions remain in the ascendant. This shift is shaping new dynamics. In Iran, for example, evangelicals are quietly building the underground church's strength, and hoping for the fall of the regime. 

What is Islam all about?  The moral foundation of Islam and leftism is identical.  Hate, greed, envy, lust, violence, and the desire to attain absolute power in order to control everyone's life. In Islam that manifests itself in practices such as mass murder, rape, and violence of every sort, along with "practices such as child marriage, honour killings, female genital mutilation,all of which are rooted in doctrine, not cultural misunderstandings."   

  • Islam and the Children: What the Doctrine Demands, and What the West Is Ignoring.  - This article details how Islamic doctrine impacts children, both in Islamic societies and in the West. Drawing from primary Islamic texts — including the Koran, Hadith, and Reliance of the Traveller — it shows how children are expected to begin religious practices by age 7, are beaten by age 10 if they resist, and may be denied secular education. Practices such as child marriage, honour killings, and female genital mutilation are shown to be rooted in doctrine, not cultural misunderstandings.

It documents real-world consequences: the child martyrs of Gaza, the enslavement of Yazidi girls, the denial of education for Afghan girls, and the systemic rape of non-Muslim children by grooming gangs in the West. Meanwhile, Western children are being softened up through Islamic rituals disguised as cultural inclusion — kneeling in mosques, fasting for Ramadan, and celebrating ‘world hijab day’ in classrooms.

This article isn't just going to discuss the horrors Islam is perpetuating on humanity, it will link articles as source pieces, from Africa, America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.  This is a horror story that's worldwide, and growing.   Nearly 400 million Christians are being persecuted globally, with Islam and leftism, in all it's manifestations, as the driving forces for these horrors.  And Western civilization is either being silent, or actually in cooperation with this outrages.  

here's what happened in in February 2025.  In the Democratic Republic of Congo, which isn't democratic or a republic, seventy Christians, men, women and children were “tied up and decapitated with knives.”  

In Egypt young Christian girls are being kidnapped and being trafficked and the police do nothing.  Muslims are setting fire to churches, with the official position is these are "natural occurrences", and in Pakistan "a Muslim man twice abducted a married Christian mother of three children, raped her, fraudulently converted her to Islam, and fabricated an Islamic marriage.   Christians are abducted, humiliated and accused of crimes with no relief from authorizes.  

In France a Muslim immigrant imprisoned and murdered...the word used  slaughtered three Christians in a church in Nice.  In Spain “Islamic State terrorist organisation is threatening to attack Catholic cathedrals in Spain, in an organized and open attempt to destroy Christianity in Europe, which is also being done in Syria.

In Indonesian Muslims attack Christians demanding the rejection of Christian worship in their community, but that's nothing compared to the nightmare Christians face in Nigeria which is being called '“pure genocide” with Muslim terrorists “leaving a trail of bloodshed, destruction and despair”.  In Uganda a Christian evangelist was beaten and stabbed for leading "a 75-year-old Muslim widow known as Hasifa to Christ', all in public.  

‘Red Wednesday’ events to be held in over 20 countries to raise awareness of Christian - Aid to the Church in Need (ACN), an international Catholic charity, is organizing hundreds of activities in more than 20 countries for Red Wednesday, which is on November 20 this year. 
 
The global event aims at raising awareness of Christian persecution and religious freedom issues throughout the world. Initially a single day of solidarity, marked by illuminating churches and secular buildings in red, it has grown into extended initiatives in some areas, such as “Red Week” or “Red November,” featuring prayer vigils, testimonies, conferences, and exhibitions. Next week’s event is marked by the release of the 2024 edition of Persecuted & Forgotten?, a report highlighting conditions for Christians in 18 countries where persecution is severe. 
 
According to the report, most of these nations have seen conditions worsen or remain unchanged. ACN USA presented the report at the USCCB Plenary Assembly on November 12, encouraging U.S. bishops to support “Courage in Faith Week,” an initiative inviting bishops to advocate for persecuted Christians, offer Masses for martyrs, and engage their parishes in solidarity. 

Thousands of Christians Killed and Imprisoned for for Their Faith in 2024, Report Reveals In 2024, 4,476 Christians were murdered around the globe because of their beliefs. Another 4,744 were imprisoned. Over 7,670 churches and Christian properties were attacked, too.  Those numbers are reported by Open Doors—a global ministry dedicated to serving persecuted believers—which has released its 2025 World Watch List. The annual report reveals the top 50 countries where Christians are most likely to face severe consequences for their faith, from the loss of homes and jobs to imprisonment and death.

Public Trust in Churches Has Fallen. Is There Hope for Change in 2025?

I recently read a thought-provoking piece. It starts off by observing that people have lost confidence in the Government and the Media. Then it wraps up by discussing that US citizens are also losing faith in Churches — an even more serious matter.

Considering that the Catholic Church has a new leader (Pope Leo XIV), maybe this is a good time to give this some critical thought.

[Note: following the quoted part, I’ll share my own experience on this topic.]

The following is an excerpt of the good article:

“There’s one more notable area where people seem to be losing trust, Jody Hice observed. “I hate to even bring this up, but there’s also seemingly … an increasing distrust for churches, a lack of trust. What do you think this next year holds for the church? Is there anything that they can do to become a greater influence in our culture?”

“It’s interesting,” Dr. George Barna replied, “because when you look at what’s going on with churches, in some ways it’s very similar to what’s happening with government, where people have less and less trust in the leadership of their churches.”

Additionally, he explained how many Christians “feel like they’re not getting real value from their churches. And as we’ve been evaluating that, one of the things that’s become clear is that, often, that’s because they feel they’re not being given practical advice, practical guidance — real, tangible value for their life. … This comes from preaching God’s word on a consistent basis and breaking it down for people so that they know how to apply God’s truth principles in their personal life.”

But if churchgoers feel that church is not serving them, the question becomes why is that the case?

Barna contended that a lot of it boils down to how churches “evaluate their success in ministry … which is based on how many people show up, how many programs they offer, how many … people they’ve hired, how much money they’re raising, and how much square footage they’ve built out.” This is problematic, Barna argued, because “if you think about those five objectives that most churches in America consistently measure to evaluate their ministry effectiveness, one conclusion we can come to is … that they’re bound to fail as a set of measures.”*

“Why?” he asked. “Because Jesus didn’t die for any of those. That’s not what His life, His ministry, or His teaching is all about.”

At the heart of the matter, Barna contended, is that “we’ve gotten away from the Bible not only in what we’re teaching, but even in how we’re measuring success and impact in ministry. … In the last five years … half of all adults in America attending a church at least once a month on average has gone down to roughly one third of Americans. That’s a huge drop in a short period of time. And … the reason is they’re not getting biblical value from churches.”

“Wow,” Hice sighed. “This is an extremely important issue because the well-being of our whole culture ultimately comes down to the spiritual health of the culture, which ultimately obviously rests upon the health of the church. What does the church need to do to get people to come back to church? What kind of changes need to be taking place within a church body to fulfill the mission that God has given them to do?”

According to Barna, “it comes back to the whole issue of worldview. Why is it that young people in particular would say that they often are struggling with fear, depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts?

It comes back to their perspectives about how life works. When you’ve got a young adult who doesn’t believe that there’s a God who’s all knowing, all powerful … merciful … just … involved and engaged in their lives, and when you’ve got generations of people who say that they don’t believe that there’s anything that happens after they die, it’s imperative that if … churches or families want to be uplifting and … a source of strength and hope and optimism, particularly for younger adults, well, then they’ve got to get back to God’s word.”

“Our entire culture is moving in the wrong direction,” Barna warned, “and it’s up to churches and parents to raise their children up, to understand the truths of Scripture … to trust the Bible, to know God, to trust Jesus personally, and to understand that we’re sinners.”

People must understand that “success in life isn’t by your material goods. … It’s not by your fame. It’s not by your popularity. It’s not even by feeling good. It’s about consistent obedience to God.” Another part of this issue is due to a lack of discipleship, he argued, and disciples who aren’t properly equipping themselves.

For anyone grappling with fear, anxiety, or depression, Barna concluded that “Jesus is the antidote. … The Bible shows us an alternative way of living,” and “the more that we can address worldview issues, the more that we can not only rebuild the church, but we can bring back a sense of life and hope and optimism to all Americans.

*I relate to this as it is what we experienced in our NC Catholic Church.

FYI, I went to Catholic grammar school, high school, and college (Boston College), and had a good relationship with nuns, brothers, and priests. Subsequently, as an active, practicing parishioner, I’ve dealt with something like a hundred parish priests, with no significant problems.

A few years ago, we were assigned a new pastor — not a big deal. Right out of the gate, he made some major (and problematic) changes. For example, he terminated the sixth grade of our K-6 Catholic School. (I had been on the school board for years, and knew the whole situation intimately.) The new pastor never even bothered to attend any of the monthly school board meetings. When the School Board politely questioned some of his changes to our successful school, he fired all 12± Board members!

There were so many other issues (most outside of the school) that several parishioners decided to give the pastor a petition of concerns. It listed thirty (30!) items. He refused to meet with this group to discuss anything.  I was nominated to speak to the Diocesan person who oversees parishes. I called this priest and outlined our thirty problematic concerns.  Without addressing a single one of the parishioners’ concerns, he asked me: 

Have the collections decreased?” 

I was stunned that this clergy person’s primary interest was financial, not spiritual. We immediately changed parishes and stopped all contributions to the Diocese (and told them why).

Time, History, Truth, and Pope Francis

Since Pope Francis died there's been a lot of accolades, and a lot of condemnations.  The conventional wisdom is to not speak ill of the dead, and I get that. But time, history, and truth are on the same side, and history will not be kind to this Pope. Speaking truth about the dead isn’t speaking ill. It’s just the truth. 

One thing we absolutely know, wherever he got his views, the Pope didn't get many of his ideas from reading the Bible, or from traditional Catholic teachings and doctrine, instead he promoted "evolving" doctrine. How can there ever be a "true" doctrine if it's constantly evolving? 

We know he was on board with Marxists, the Chinese communists, Muslims, global warmists, open immigrationists, and he hated capitalism and America.  Under his tutelage church leaders have even openly flirted with homosexuality, and abortion, which official church teaching absolutely condemns.  

Judging his final dispensation is way above my pay grade, nor is it my job, or anyone else's for that matter.  My job is gathering and dispensing information based on history, facts, and logic, and putting together in some logical, coherent, and rational order, and, I think I do that well.  So, I'm not going to editorialize beyond this as I think the links below tell the history of Pope Francis clearly and succinctly.  Then you can decide what you will.
