The Principled Five vs. America
Once again, Republicans are acting like complete dingbats -- especially senators Lee, Paul, Murkowski, Collins, and Tillis, all of whom announced their decision to vote “yes” for the disapproval resolution on the President’s declaration of a national emergency at the border. As if we hadn’t heard it before, they argue there are constitutional principles involved they cannot, in good faith, contravene.
I know these senators believe they are better than Democrats when it comes to adhering to constitutional principles. The consider themselves purists in the loftiest sense. As a Tea Party conservative who spent eight years agitating for those very same principles, I get that. But I’m also not stupid, and there comes a time when practicality trumps principle. In times of war, we often confront such conflicts when we have to do what’s right at the time -- let’s say killing a civilian -- even though it violates the Geneva Convention, our Rules of Engagement, and our morals. But, in the calculus at the moment, if that one civilian life can save a multitude of troops and/or other civilians, we would likely act accordingly. These are never pretty decisions to make. But life isn’t always fair, pure, or principled.
What is the sense preening like proud peacocks because of your purity in regard to principles, only to lose big time on the most important issue of our time? Securing our nation’s borders is the only way to preserve and form a more perfect union, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare and secure the blessings of liberty. Without secure borders, all of the foregoing is in jeopardy..........To Read More.....
My Take - These guys are failures as leaders. One of my Senators is part of this package and quite frankly, he's mush like the rest of the Republican party in Ohio, far too many Rockefeller Republicans.
Ohio just elected DeWine, who was a part of the Gang of 13 when he was in the Senate, running against Cordray who is a far left loon, and DeWine just barely won. Why? I think it's because most conservatives think he's a snake and didn't really support him.
After the betrayal to conservatism by Kasich we gave another tax and spend governor, and the Republican controlled legislature in Ohio may have end up in open revolt. And who knows, as a result, they may actually find a real conservative to run against him in four years, assuming he's going to run again, which I don't think he will. That will leave to door open for conservatives in Ohio to take control. But as the journalist said in that movie: Well see!

Mark Levin Dubs Senate Republicans Who Voted Against Trump’s Border Emergency ‘The Dirty Dozen’
After the Republican-majority Senate passed a resolution disapproving of President Donald Trump’s declaration of a national emergency at the southern border, nationally-syndicated conservative pundit Mark Levin assigned a label to the 12 Republicans helped Democrats pass the resolution.
“The Dirty Dozen,” Levin declared on Twitter after Thursday’s vote, linking to a post on The Right Scoop titled, “Senate votes to DISAPPROVE Trump’s National Emergency; 12 Republicans voted with Democrats and HERE ARE THEIR NAMES.”........To Read More......

Trump as Hercules Cleaning Out the Augean Stables
Last week in Viareggio, Italy, the citizens paraded with a huge float depicting President Trump as Hercules. Looking at his many accomplishments against countless enemies and political opponents, the depiction was not inapt. Like Hercules, he defeated the Queen of the Amazons, and this week, he's going on to clean out the Augean Stables. In this respect, he's aided by the utter stupidity of his opponents.

'Emergency Powers' – Be Careful What You Wish For
Following the government “shutdown” stalemate with House Democrats, wherein the President was not able to successfully negotiate funding for a border wall with Mexico, the Administration now is openly considering declaring a “national emergency” and making an end-run around the Congress.
The primary vehicle for such a move would be the 1976 “National Emergencies Act.” While this broadly-worded Act arguably can be interpreted to permit such moves by the President, extreme caution, not abandon, should be the guide........... To Read More.....

The Conservative Coward Caucus Betrayed Trump on the Shutdown
Brandon J. Weichert January 29, 2019
The entire world apparently believes that President Donald J. Trump “caved” to the Democrats over the issue of the government shutdown. Last Friday, the president took to the cameras to issue an announcement that a deal had been reached between himself and the Democratic Party. After the president’s announcement, Senate Democratic Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and the Democratic Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi immediately declared victory.
Like Leonidas at Thermopylae in the film 300, we are led to believe that the defiant Nancy Pelosi threw a spear that cut the face of the god-king emperor, making him bleed. With that, the Left is energized as never before, as they realize that Trump could be defeated.
But, this analysis — like so many “Fake News” stories since 2016 — is painfully inaccurate. ............To Read More.....
Obstructionist Democrats Vow Lawsuit if Trump Declares Wall Emergency
Obstructionist open-borders Democrats will promptly file a lawsuit to halt the building of a desperately needed wall on the nation’s porous multi-state border with Mexico if President Trump declares a national emergency to move forward with construction, the new chairman of the House Armed Services Committee is threatening.
White House aides have reportedly prepared an executive declaration that gives the president the ability to redirect billions of dollars in military construction and flood-control funds.
“There would immediately be a lawsuit,” Rep. Adam Smith (D-Wash.) told C-SPAN. “Taking billions out of the Pentagon’s military construction budget would be a big problem, and there’s bipartisan opposition to it.”
Using funds for the Army Corps of Engineers’ flood-control programs for the wall would also be “problematic,” Smith said.
“We really have no choice but to build a powerful wall or steel barrier,” Trump said Friday as he signed fiscal legislation temporarily reopening the portions of the federal government that had been shut down since before Christmas.........To Read More....

The Democratic Party is extinct but for illegal immigration
I am reminded of the battle at Helm's Deep from The Lord of the Rings. There are only two other cinematic scenes that come close: the gun battle in downtown Los Angeles in Heat and the taking of the beaches in Saving Private Ryan. Helm's Deep is probably one of the greatest war scenes in all of movie-making history.
Backs against the wall, Théoden's forces were faced with an existential threat of wave after wave of never-ending combatants who laid siege to the wall.
The Deeping Wall protects the Deep behind the Keep, this is the only escape for the Defenders.Sauron knew that if the wall was breached, then his invading forces could take the Hornburg. Better, then, would be to keep one's main focus on the wall.
The tactical importance of walls should seem obvious. Even Sun Tzu wrote about the exhaustion of trying to overcome walls:.............Read more

For Trump, Pelosi-Schumer clown show is the gift that keeps on giving
Congressional Democrats have a serious problem. It is not the fact that many of them appear to dislike President Trump, which they are free to do. Rather, it is the fact that their arguments have become predictable and stale, mere talking points and sound bites, always placing the blame on someone else. The Democratic response to the president's border speech demonstrated this to perfection. As a result, Democrats have little chance to sway public opinion and are likely helping Republicans and the president on the issue of border security.
Tuesday night, President Trump delivered a powerful speech from the Oval Office regarding the need for strong border security. During the speech, Trump laid out specific facts explaining why the country needs to secure the border and how his plan would accomplish this. According to Fox News, at one point during the speech, Trump directly addressed his colleagues, stating, "Wealthy politicians ... don't build walls because they hate the people on the outside, but because they love the people on the inside." The speech was effective and convincing...........Read more.......

Democrats Can Fund the World, but Not the Wall
There is nothing like a government shutdown to illustrate clearly the priorities of the two opposing sides to the standoff. On one side is President Trump, keeping a campaign promise to build a wall, to keep crime, sex-trafficking, drugs, and terrorism, not to mention the unfunded burden of illegal aliens, out of America.
On the other side are the Democrats, hell-bent on keeping 25 percent of the government closed for business rather than funding border security, a concept they wholeheartedly supported a decade ago.
Who's winning and who's losing the battle? If you watch cable news, it's clear that the president is on the ropes, having backed himself into a corner. Reality sings a different tune. How did we get here?
Donald Trump, announcing his candidacy for president in June 2015, rode down the escalator at Trump Tower and said , "When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best." He went on, "They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."................Now, because it's 2019 and Trump is president, Democrats are conveniently against border security. This is a common theme of Democrats, frequently for something before they are against it............. To Read More.....
My Take - A decade ago they needed the very people who want a wall, so they talked the talk but never walked the walk, nor did they ever intend to. Now they know they've lost those people, and their base is the far left. These leftists, whether it's Democrats, Independents or RINO's, will turn on a dime if it will garner them the one thing they desire the most. Power! Because they have no stable moral foundation. What really fascinates me is how much passion they can generate. When taking a side on an issue they can generate amazing passion and moral indignation. When they reverse themselves in that issue they generate the same level of passion and moral indignation, and people fall for it. How do these people sleep at night? How do their main stream media allies look at themselves in the mirror without disgust.
To be a leftist is to be irrational, misanthropic, morally defective and insane.

Trump’s Wall or the Media’s Wall of Lies
January 9, 2019 Daniel Greenfield
The government may shut down, but the media never shuts up. Instead it shuts away the truth.
It’s been two weeks since the Democrats shut down the government to stop border security. After their open borders created a humanitarian crisis on the border, they shut down the government and created another one in America. And then they spent two weeks blaming President Trump for their own crisis.
After two weeks of media lies resonating through the vast billion dollar echo chamber of dirty print newspapers, buzzing radio chatter, cable news panels kicking their legs on high chairs under high tables at CNN or MSNBC, all of it uploaded onto the web, President Trump took his message to the people.
The networks debated whether to censor him. Some suggested interrupting him with attacks disguised as “fact checks” while he was speaking. Others proposed not letting him speak at all.
Why? Because they were afraid. Their narrative is a house of cards. Each card is another easily disproven lie. .................. The media is an army. For 9 minutes and 35 seconds, he was able to speak the truth to the nation. But for the next 24 hours, and all the hours, days and weeks afterward, the media’s lies will choke the truth out of existence, its fact checkers will scour social media for stories to censor, and anyone who disagrees will be fired, boycotted or threatened..............To Read More....

Trump Rallies Nation For Border Wall
January 9, 2019 Matthew Vadum
President Trump took rhetorical aim at his enemies as he delivered his first-ever prime time address from the Oval Office last night in a bold attempt to rally the country in favor of building a wall on the porous U.S.-Mexico border, his signature campaign promise.
In a live address Trump made a succinct case for a border wall on national security, economic, law and order, and humanitarian grounds.
The wall is needed “because there is a growing humanitarian and security crisis at our southern border,” Trump said at the beginning of his oration. “Every day, Customs and Border Patrol agents encounter thousands of illegal immigrants trying to enter our country. We are out of space to hold them, and we have no way to promptly return them back home to their country.”
“In the last two years, ICE officers made 266,000 arrests of aliens with criminal records – including those charged or convicted of 100,000 assaults, 30,000 sex crimes and 4,000 violent killings,” the president said...........To Read More.....

Kakistocracy: The Democrats' de facto open border
The real reason the Democrats oppose Trump’s wall, and have been preventing the construction of a physical barrier for many years, is because they know it's the only thing that prevents a de facto open border with Mexico. You have no doubt seen old videos of Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi supporting the Secure Fence Act of 2006. These videos are used to illustrate Chuck and Nancy’s hypocrisy in now opposing Trump’s wall (which as proposed is really a tall, steel slate fence).
The truth is the Democrats were just as opposed to any physical barrier then as they are now. They just dared not admit it to the American people. And while the Secure Fence Act of 2006 (introduced in the House by New York Republican Peter King) passed with many Democrat votes, the Democrats and cheap-labor Republicans made damn sure the bill was never funded. ...........The reason the Democrats are intractably opposed to a wall is not, as claimed, because they believe it doesn’t work, but because they know for a fact that it does............Read more

The Compromising Background of Jamal Khashoggi’s Work
Saudi dissident Jamal Khashoggi speaks at an event hosted by Middle East Monitor in London, England, September 29, 2018. (Middle East Monitor via Reuters ) Making the click-through worthwhile: how customs and border-patrol agents can make the argument for a security fence, three easily overlooked comments from President Trump’s visit in Iraq, and some surprising revelations about Jamal Khashoggi that complicate the initial narrative about his work. Finally, Trump Will Make His Fencing Argument at the Border.............Three Observations about Trump in Iraq...........
Once the Senate works through a deal to reopen the government, it has a huge pile of work to get to: confirmation hearings for at least five cabinet officials; about 30 judges awaiting a confirmation vote; 45 nominees to be ambassadors; and about 150 other nominees for positions throughout the executive branch, including director of the U.S. Census Bureau, U.S. Marshals Service, National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and inspector generals for the Departments of Energy, Homeland Security, HUD, director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and White House director of National Drug Control Policy.
