We're All Travelers in This World!

By Rich Kozlovich

Recently Mitch McConnell went completely blank at the podium during a press conference, and now, according to  his doctor, he's just fine and ready to go back to work.  Well, he's not fine, this isn't the first time this has happened in recent times, but it is the worst public exposure of his dementia, or whatever neurological issue he's having thus far, but make no mistake, it won't be the last.  One has to wonder what's he like in his office, or home when he's not on camera?

On September 2, 2023 Jack Hellner posted this American Thinker article, Mitch McConnell’s obvious cognitive deficiencies cause a Democrat panic, saying:

He notes how McConnell is opposed to a Biden impeachment as it "will be bad for the country", and then goes on to innumerate all the horrible things that absolutely bad .... actually horrible... for the nation, all of which Biden is responsible, and then goes on to ask:

It makes you wonder… What do Biden and the Democrats have on McConnell?

I commented on that article saying:

There's a great movie entitled Broken Trail about real men doing manly things who are willing to stand up for what's right starring Robert Duvall. In that movie he portrays an old cowboy named Prentiss Ritter, and has what I think is an unforgettable line saying:

We're all travelers in this world, from the sweet grass to the packing house, birth to death, we travel between the eternities.

At some point, and I think soon, Mitch's travel will be over. If he had an ounce of integrity he'd at least resign as leader of the Senate Republicans, but no matter what, his travel will soon be over, and hopefully, the Senate Republicans will develop a spine and choose a conservative, a real conservative. But I don't have a lot of confidence in them.

Update:  Given the Senate is full of nitwits like GOP Sen. Rounds who claims McConnell capable leader and he's sharp and shrewd, there's not any reason to have any confidence in them. RK

We all come to the end of things, and when that happens, and as we review our lives, will we ask ourselves if we've had the courage to be the rock in the current, willing to stand against all odds, being real men doing the manly things needed to stand up for what's right?

I was heavily involved in my industry's affairs for many years, and unfortunately, based on my experiences, I don't think most people can answer that positively, or honorably. Mitch McConnell exemplifies that all too sad fact, along with entirely too many "leaders" in business, government, academia, and the military.

Warm memories never wear out the welcome in our lives. At the end of our lives we all become moldering mounds of rotting flesh, and in "this world" the best that can happen is we leave satisfied knowing we've left some warm memories behind for work well done.

Mitch has already lost that battle.

And as you'd expect the corrupt, collusive media portrayed Fetterman as a heroic figure!  An asset to the Senate!  A shining example for those who have neurological disorders.  That same media is demanding Mitch resign.  No double standard there.

Well, truth be told, it's long overdue for a Constitutional Amendment to place age and term limits of all elected federal officials, and the federal judiciary.

It ain't gonna happen.
