Killing civilization: Teaching schoolkids ‘the narrative’ - By Selwyn Duke - For quite some years now, the term “narrative” has been common in political circles. It generally has a negative connotation as it’s used to reference a storyline — an often largely fictional one — advanced by some ideologically driven entity for political gain. This is why I saw a red flag Friday when, while writing an article on how leftist indoctrination permeates even conservative states’ schools, I read a line that what a common modern pedagogy dictates is necessary to be a “culturally responsive educator” (read: an educator responsible for cultural revolution). Two prerequisites for it, related the Federalist, are “the rejection of colorblindness and replacing instruction about facts with narrative stories.”..............

Chicago's Public Schools Are a Threat to Children's Lives - By Larry Kaifesh - The Chicago Public Schools (CPS) system is failing our children from every conceivable angle, while the Chicago Teachers' Union (CTU) voted again in January to work from home due to the omicron COVID variant.  This vote left hundreds of thousands of students in limbo. The CTU voted in the last two years to teach students remotely from the spring of 2020 to the spring of 2021.  Finishing in a hybrid form that year, half of the students received class via home remote learning, and the other half attended class in school..........

The easiest government-approved way to be cruel to children - By Chet Richards - Did you ever wonder why childhood seemed to take so long, yet as you age, time seems to slip by ever faster?  I am of an age where I am well acquainted with this phenomenon.  I propose an explanation based on simple biology: relative life experience.  This bears on the issue of masking children. Consider a typical high school student — say, sixteen years old.  For the last two years, he has been required to wear a mask in school (when he wasn't at home zooming) and often out of school as well.  What does that mean from his perspective?  It means that for one-eighth of his life, he has had to wear a mask.  Look at what that might mean to a forty-year-old.  It would be equivalent to wearing a mask from the age of thirty-five — five years of mask-wearing instead of two. Let's go younger.  A ten-year-old child has been wearing a mask since the age of eight.  For the forty-year-old, this would be equivalent to wearing a mask since the age of thirty-two — eight years........

A sixth-grader received glowing grades in P.E. and Social Studies from her teachers at a middle school in year three of San Francisco Unified School District's COVID-19 annus horribilis. School records show that the unidentified girl received two As as a student at Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School. Bad news. She hadn't gone to the school the entire year. Worse news. The school district had been counting her as a student, thus getting federal funds for the entire year also. How many others are out there?.............
