We're now seeing an abrupt turn around by Democrat politicians over their tyrannical and maniacal mandates, and they expect the people to thank them for it.  Well, there's one group I've yet to see polled or interviewed.  The business owners they put out of business with their insanity.  That's one group that will be, at least in my opinion, entirely unforgiving.  And the reason why?  They know all the mandates had nothing to do with public health, it had everything to do with destroying individual liberty and replacing it with government control of their lives.  The true goal of every form of socialist central planning, whether it's fascism, communism, environmentalism or any other manifestation of socialism.
