The title, "My Take on the Debate", is a misnomer. I never saw it. In point of fact, I generally don't watch debates. The last debate I watched was the debate for the Mayor of New York City, with William de Blasio, one Republican, and four or five other Democrats, none of whom were qualified. Guess which Democrat was the most impressive? Believe it or not, Anthony Weiner! Yeah, that Weiner! So, why did William de Blasio win the election?
First off, unlike his fellow radical Democrats (there were no moderate Democrats in this election) he never really answered any question put to him. So he looked calm, self assured, reasonable, just mouthing platitudes and logical fallacies. Since all
the rest seemed to out of touch with reality, he seemed the most
rational. Ergo, he avoided looking insane, unlike the rest of them. Not very impressive, but assuring. And was elected. Wow! Was that a mistake!
Well, actually that depends on your perspective. It was clear a Democrat was going to be elected no matter what, and all the rest of the Democrats seemed stunningly defective and wouldn't have been any better that Bill de Blasio if they were elected, and believe it or not, they might have been even worse, if you can imagine that.
He won because, it wasn't much of a contest. But, can you imagine if he had actually told everyone what he believed and
would do? Yeah, I can. They would have elected one of the other lunatics the Democrats offered instead.
Before that, I watched the debate between Vice Presidential candidates, Geraldine Ferraro and George Bush. A debate that almost everyone viewed as a draw, except for one female reporter who went on in rapturous ecstasy about how Ferraro really won that debate. The other reporters smiled, rolled their eyes, shook their heads, and one asked if they had all seen the same debate.
Other than that, I've avoided debates like the plague. I just can't stand the horsepucky. But most of all, I really despise the moderators.
So then, "My Take" is based on reports I read that came out Thursday, and it certainly appears as if Trump crushed Biden, or maybe it could be better said, Biden crushed Biden, but this one, by Andrea Widburg, one of my favorite writers, is probably the best report. Please enjoy!
A calm, masterful Donald Trump made mincemeat of Joe Biden By Andrea Widburg
The
moment Donald Trump and Joe Biden appeared on the stage, Trump was in
control. He looked robust, while Biden appeared frail and slow. Trump’s
dominance extended beyond looks. He ably defended his record against
attacks from both Biden and the moderator, Kristen Welker. He also
politely, but insistently, pressed Biden on his decades of failure, the
damage he caused to the black community, and his corrupt dealings with
his son, Hunter. It was a rout.
Those expecting Trump to be a bit of a madman, as he was during the first debate, were disappointed. Trump, having achieved his goal
during the first debate of forcing Biden to alienate some of his base,
no longer needed the madman tactic. This time, Trump was charming,
polite, and endlessly upbeat about America’s prospects. Biden,
meanwhile, literally said that America was “about to go into a dark
winter. A dark winter.”
As
expected, Welker was a biased moderator. To her credit, she asked Biden
about China and Ukraine, although she left the topic as quickly as
possible. Otherwise, as with Chris Wallace and, during the town hall,
Savannah Guthrie, every question that Welker posed to Trump came from a
Democrat, not a neutral, position.
Even
more irritating than the premise of her questions, though, was Welker’s
determination to cut Trump’s rebuttals off immediately while letting
Biden answer at length. Indeed, when Trump reminded Biden that Hunter
walked out of China with $1.5 billion and started discussing the newly
released emails, Welker frantically interrupted Trump to ensure that
Biden wouldn’t have to try to answer the question.
Welker
also argued constantly with Trump, something she never did with Biden.
Candy Crowley apparently set a new standard for moderators getting into
it with Republican candidates and we may as well get used to it........More Here.......
