This week President Trump was once again, for the fourth time, nominated for the Noble Peace Prize, which if awarded, it would finally be to someone deserving. Victor Davis Hansen noted in his piece, Destroying the Institutions We Inherited that:
Yasser Arafat of the Palestine Liberation Organization won the prize in
1994, despite conducting lethal terrorist operations. He allegedly gave
the final order to execute U.S. Ambassador to Sudan Cleo Noel and two
other diplomats in 1973.
And then there was Obama:
In 2009, the Nobel Peace Prize went to President Barack Obama,
despite the fact that Obama had only been president for eight months
when the prize was announced. Many felt the award was a political
statement -- aimed at empowering Obama and criticizing the policies of
his then-unpopular predecessor, George W. Bush.
Much later, Geir Lundestad, the longtime director of the Nobel Institute, confessed that the prize committee had indeed hoped the award would strengthen Obama's future agendas and wasn't really in recognition of anything he had actually done.
On October 14, 2020, Pam Key posted this piece, Obama: Trump Doesn’t Have ‘Patience,’ ‘Focus’ to Change U.S. Foreign Policy, discussing an interview by former President Barack Obama who had had the nerve to say:
“The thing that over the last four years, it’s not as if
Trump has been all that active internationally.
(Oops, Obama has been asleep again, just like when he was President. RK)
I mean, the truth is he
doesn’t have the patience and the focus to really substantially change a
lot of US foreign policy. What he’s done is he’s systematically tried
to decimate our entire foreign policy infrastructure.
(So dismantling the disasters Obama created and left behind is a bad thing? And his view of Joe Biden? RK)
And the thing I
know about Joe is that he respects people who know history and have
expertise, and he’s going to pay attention to somebody who has worked in
Africa to find out, like, ‘how should I deal with a particular crisis
there’ as opposed to calling it a bunch of I won’t say the word
countries, right? He has a respect and understanding for what American
leadership can do.”
(Yeah, right, stop, stop, stop! Oh, no more, no more! I can't take it, I can't take it! RK)
Okay, so much for that. Here's the P&D "My Take" from Robin Siskel, one of my Our Group e-mail gang:
What alternate universe has Obama been living in? Poor waddle O'bowma is just all wee-weed up
(h/t Obama) that Trump has obliterated Obama's foreign policy 'legacy' (if you
can even call the massive mess he left that) - so he's descended into
Wonderland and is spewing pure fantasy!
Trump got us out of the absurd and useless Paris Accords,
the Iran Nuclear Deal that Iran was proven to be violating in major ways, got
our NATO partners to start ponying up more of the share they're obligated to
pay, has made incredible strides in the Middle East that Obama-Biden never
could, moving our Embassy to Jerusalem, negotiating historic peace treaties between
Israel and the UAE and Bahrain, an air space treaty with Jordan, and almost
certainly more nations to follow suit, a treaty between Kosovo and Serbia...
Trump squashed ISIS when Obama-Biden let it run wild and grow massively.
Trump took out Iran's top leader of state sponsored
terrorism, and rather than giving Iran billions of dollars in cash on pallets
flown in during the dead of night, Trump reinstated tough sanctions on them
that are hurting them badly. Trump has also taken a very tough stance
with Russia where Obama-Biden catered to them, same with China (not to mention
all of the vastly corrupt side deals between the Biden family and China, the
Ukraine, Russia, etc.!). Then there's
the vastly better America Canada Mexico treaty replacing NAFTA, etc., etc.,
etc.
But Obama's
out there seriously trying to proclaim that Trump doesn't have the patience or
focus to change U.S. foreign policy? That's gotta win the award for the
most dishonest, self serving, and absurd statement in history!!! Oh, and
let's not forget that Obama's own Sect. of Defense, Gates, has said that Biden
has made the wrong call on foreign policy every time for 40 years... and Obama
himself has proclaimed that you can trust Biden to screw up anything he's asked
to handle!!!
