The Trump Prosecutors Have Lost the Confidence of the People - April 17, 2024 - 1 in 5 Dems and 4 out of 10 independents think the justice system is rigged against Trump.  The media is pushing this AP poll as evidence that the trials have demonstrated Trump’s ineligibility for office. The numbers aren’t great, but they’re worse for the system. Much as the Left trashed the credibility of the media to get Republicans, they’ve now trashed the credibility of the justice system to get Trump. Only 31% of the public is very confident that state prosecutors in New York are treating Trump fairly. Another 22% are middling while 44% are not at all confident.  Even 17% of Dems are skeptical, among Independents, 44% to 47% are skeptical. The numbers get worse for state prosecutors in Georgia and worse still for federal prosecutors...............

Military Continues Covering Up Abbey Gate Bombing for Biden - April 16, 2024 - “Not preventable at the tactical level”.   U.S. Central Command released its latest phase of the report on the Abbey Gate terrorist attack which killed 13 American servicemembers during Biden’s botched evacuation from Afghanistan. Predictably the report claims that the attack was not preventable even though there had been calls to close the gate, Marine snipers had identified the bomber who had been released by the Taliban after Biden’s decision to abandon Bagram Air Base and the terrorists who were there and asked for permission to take him out, but were denied. Was Abbey Gate preventable? Obviously. At multiple levels. Beginning with Biden’s decision to abandon Bagram to the same punishing rules of engagement that prioritized Muslim civilians over American soldiers................

So while it’s technically illegal to be an illegal alien, that law won’t be enforced, but the social sanctions on anyone calling an illegal alien that are far worse even with the lack of any laws. (The same goes for a man who decides to shower with young girls while arguing that he’s really a ‘transgender woman’.).................

Could China Use TikTok to Elect Biden?

 In 2020, 3% of Americans got their news from TikTok. It’s now 14% or 1 in 7 people.

 Among 18-29 year olds, 1 in 3 Americans get their news from TikTok. That’s up from less than 1 in 10 in 2020. Some of this is due to the app’s growth rate, but it’s also a strategy. It’s not just that TikTok is growing quickly, but today half of TikTok users say they get their news through it. That’s up from 1 in 5 in 2020. TikTok isn’t just growing, it’s growing its political influence.

When the House passed a bill forcing an end to Chinese Communist control over TikTok, the platform rallied its users, many of them underage, to pressure and even threaten Congress.

 With 170 million active users in the United States, TikTok is one of the largest news platforms in the country and it’s under the control of Communist China. By 2021, most mainstream media organizations had jumped on to a platform that used to be known for short dance clips.

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence revealed that China had influenced the 2022 midterm elections using TikTok and warned that the Communist regime may “attempt to influence the U.S. elections in 2024”. Some have speculated that China used TikTok to help swing the 2022 elections, but its influence over the 2024 election will be much more powerful.

If TikTok’s influence continues to grow at its current rates, by 2026 no one in D.C. will touch it.
An effort to end China’s control over TikTok fell apart ahead of the 2022 midterms and now a similar effort is being attacked from all sides because China’s influence cuts across parties. There are Democrats and Republicans who have taken Chinese money and some members of both parties who oppose China are also considered potential threats by the ChiCom regime.

During the 2022 midterms, China used TikTok to target some elected officials from both parties.
While China has its own agenda, so do some of the top ESG firms who bought into its ByteDance partner, including BlackRock and Sequoia Capital, which have profited massively from Biden’s destructive ESG agenda that is feeding inflation and bankrupting America.

But those agendas are also interwoven with China’s growing influence on American business.

Sequoia has been under congressional scrutiny for its Chinese investments that may have helped the Chinese military, and the firm’s Michael Moritz directed millions into a Dem PAC alongside George Soros. The House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party had warned that BlackRock had invested $429 million into Chinese companies that “act directly against the interests of the United States.” BlackRock vets fill the ranks of the Biden government.

All of this is likely to come to a head in the 2024 election in which vast amounts of power and money will be at stake. And with the sharp growth in TikTok’s active users and their news consumption, China may finally be in a position to swing an American presidential election.

It had been estimated that Google’s biased algorithms may have moved millions of votes in the 2020 election, but the biases in TikTok’s algorithms could move millions more votes, especially among the younger voters who use it heavily, under the direction of an enemy nation.

And with 170 million users, half of whom get their news from TikTok, those videos help shape the worldviews of 85 million Americans.

TikTok’s finely turned algorithm reportedly uses all the data that the app collects about users, from where they are to which phones they use, learning which videos they watch and which they ignore, and how much of them they watch, to zero in on their worldviews and build a rapid profile, and begin recommending videos within 15 minutes that will get inside their heads.

Given that information, it becomes all too easy for the algorithm to manipulate users.
This manipulation can be gross, like pushing left-learning or pro-Biden content to independent and swing voters, but it can also be subtle, like interfering in primaries by promoting content in favor of or against one politician, or pushing ‘doomer’ content that discourages one side, like conservatives, from voting. Such methods have already been experimented with on other platforms, but TikTok’s secretive foreign operation makes it particularly impermeable.

If China were to interfere in the 2024 election, how would it do it?

Chinese Communist election interference on behalf of Trudeau and against the political candidates whom the regime opposed provides us with a partial real world blueprint. Leaks from the Canadian Security Intelligence Service revealed how the CCP and its agents used straw campaign donors, hired Chinese volunteers and rallied local groups to rig elections.

But it’s in Taiwan’s election where China used everything from fake polls to crypto bribes to deepfake videos that we can see the real danger. TikTok was flooded with videos smearing the anti-Communist frontrunner, while promoting pro-PRC candidates. One Chinese Communist influence operation used fake personas to accuse the pro- independence party of causing “an egg shortage and the alleged poisoning of kindergarten students.”

China, which is trying to catch up to America in AI, also used AI to produce a 300-page book and then made that into the basis for AI generated videos targeting Taiwan’s former president. The PRC is already deploying AI campaigns in America and TikTok provides it with the perfect platform. But TikTok’s algorithm also ensures that China won’t have to rely too heavily on AI as human influencers will rush to produce content that is rewarded by the algorithm. 

TikTok provides China with a direct pipeline into half the country with no limitations.

What will the Communist regime do with that power? Much as in Canada, where Xi decided to back the leftist candidate, the CCP will likely choose to throw its covert support to Biden. And the best way to tell whom China supports may be to follow the TikTok trends.

Communist China has the ability to use TikTok to elect Biden. The only question is will it?
As long as TikTok remains under China’s control, our elections can never be safe.

Biden’s Brother “Misspoke” About Chinese Money Coming From Xi Protege -  March 2, 2024 - Did Joe Biden know that Xi’s protégé was the source of the cash.  Lots of that ‘misspeaking’ going around.  

First brother James Biden confirmed during his impeachment inquiry testimony that a $40,000 check made out to former Vice President Joe Biden in 2017 used funds James received from a Chinese government-linked company — while James also revealed he received overseas income as recently as last year. James, 74, insisted that he didn’t believe the company, CEFC China Energy, was controlled by Beijing — claiming that “I just misspoke” when telling the IRS in a 2022 interview that first son Hunter Biden, who was partnering with his uncle, had described CEFC chairman Ye Jianming as a “protégé” of Chinese President Xi Jinping… 

And it’s important to remember that the Bidens were expecting a huge payday from their relationship that never materialized...............

TikTok is China. Banning It, Bans China. - March 10, 2024 - If Congress can’t ban TikTok, then it is hopelessly corrupt.  There has rarely been as simple and a revealing a choice as the TikTok ban. After outsourcing much of our economy to China, the TikTok app handed over our youth and much of our politics to China. Banning it should have been a straight and simple call. The fact that it’s not shows how much influence China has over our politics and our elites. China would never allow an American social media app to operate in its country. Twitter and Facebook are banned there. With TikTok, China has the best of both worlds, it’s able to influence us, but we can’t influence it. The amount of data on Americans that TikTok gobbles up is potentially incredible. And in light of a series of recent high-profile military espionage cases, it’s worth asking how much of that data is potentially actionable.....

That’s right. But how many of the thousands of people being killed by illegals – to her parents, I say my heart goes out to you. Having lost children myself, I understand.” Biden got into trouble for calling the illegal alien killer, an illegal, a term that had been banned by leftists back during the Obama administration......

After the Oct 7 attack, the administration was asked if it would send in a rescue force to get any of the Americans who were held hostage out then. The answer was no.  But Biden finally is sending in the troops. Not to save the hostages from Hamas, but to build a nice pier to supply aid to Hamas supporters in Gaza........

Biden Admin Officially Turns on Israel-  March 10, 2024 - Biden says finishing off Hamas would be a “red line”.  And by officially, I mean publicly and formally.  The State of the Union, strangely enough, was the point at which the Biden administration decided to roll out its public anti-Israel campaign beginning with the staged ‘hot mic’ moment. There had been a drumbeat of leaks and anonymous statements in the weeks leading up to it, but now Biden has gone on record that…

The Dead Al Qaeda Hippie Who Went Viral on TikTok

 Eight years after he was taken out by a drone strike in Waziristan, Adam Gadahn went viral on TikTok. Had the former Al Qaeda terrorist been alive to see TikTok lefties praising his, “Letter to America”, written in Osama bin Laden’s name, he would have been absolutely thrilled.

Raised by California hippies, Adam Gadahn’s message clicked with TikTok teens because he used to be one of them. After experimenting with heavy metal to rebel against his dad’s terrible folk music (“So tell us what the sign will be/Of the end of the age we know/War and famine everywhere/There’s no place left to go” he went for the ultimate in death metal.

We love nothing more than “slitting the throats of the infidels” he bragged in his videos in a fake Arabic accent right out of ‘Team America World Police’. “You and your people will, Allah willing, experience things, which will make you forget all about the horrors of September 11.”

Al Qaeda embraced the previously useless hipster because he promised to teach them how to reach Americans. But the ‘Azzam the American’ experiment never took off. Even after he stopped wearing a burka-like disguise over his square wire rimmed glasses, and wound a tablecloth around his head instead, he never stopped looking like a dork in a costume.

Adam never belonged in Pakistan, he belonged in ‘Fast Times at Ridgemont High’ or ‘Napoleon Dynamite’: his blank thousand yard stare had been perfected by getting high, not in Koran study.

Americans did not rush to enlist in Al Qaeda because of his words. Adam had aimed his rhetoric at the Michael Moore demographic that had birthed him, but one it was one thing to jeer Bush in between Starbucks lattes and another to move to a cave on the Pakistani border.

The videos mostly tapered off and he was reduced to translating the speeches of Al Qaeda leaders. After Osama bin Laden’s death, Americans stopped paying attention to Al Qaeda, and Adam’s death in a drone strike took second billing to the deaths of two American hostages.

But Adam or Azzam had been ahead of his time. He had peaked before the age of social media, and he never reached the audience he needed. But that’s changing now.

8 years after he was spattered over parts of Pakistan, Adam is an Al Qaeda influencer now.

The living can catch up to the times, but the dead can only wait for the times to catch up to them. When Adam Gadahn converted to Islam in 1996 and then assaulted his local Imam for not being antisemitic enough, there weren’t a lot of American teenagers like him. But we now live in a world where there are plenty of American teens converting to Islam and going Jihad.

Take Trevor Bickford, a 19-year-old from Wells, Maine, a town of less than 10,000 people, who converted to Islam, and headed down to Times Square to kill non-Muslims. Or Xavier Pelkey, 19, of Waterville, Maine, a city of 15,000, who joined ISIS and planned his own terror attack. Or Jonathan Xie, a 20-year-old from a New Jersey suburb who joined Hamas and threatened to bomb Trump Tower.

When Shannon Maureen Conley, a 19-year-old teenage girl from suburban Colorado converted to Islam and tried to join ISIS in 2014, there were articles and profiles on her. By the 2020s, it’s become common enough that American teens becoming Islamic terrorists has become routine. Hardly anyone bothers with the extended profiles of what is now a social phenomenon.

The handful that actually go all the way, like Adam, Trevor, Xavier, Jonathan or Shannon are the tip of the iceberg. When Osama bin Laden’s “Letter to America”, actually written by Adam, went viral on TikTok, it exposed a much larger contingent of American teens friendly to the Jihad. Most Muslims are not actually terrorists, they’re just sympathetic to their positions. The same is true of parts of the non-Muslim world, including Europe, and it’s true of some American teens.

A poll showing that 51% of Americans 18-24 supported the murders, rapes and kidnappings atrocities committed by Hamas on Oct 7 is not just a statement about Israel. How many of them also think Al Qaeda had a point? There’s no meaningful polling on that: only anecdotal.

Adam’s “Letter to America”, stripped of his terrorist cosplay, the costumes and the droning voice, proved to be effective with teens who are like him, bored, dissatisfied and lacking in meaning. The Al Qaeda influencer rebelled against the Christian and Jewish religions of his parents, adopted Islam and then called for the destruction of America. In a counterculture that prizes teenage rebellion as the ultimate form of cultural change, Adam was the ‘it’ Jihadist.

Converting to Islam is a bit of a side road from the one that his Boomer parents took to get to their place in the counterculture. Adam went from his dad’s ‘Beat of the Earth’ and ‘Love Will Find a Way’ to a scorched earth triumph over the infidels, but isn’t this where the Left always ends up? Converting to Islam and joining Al Qaeda is the Zoomer answer to the Boomer side roads of joining Charlie Manson’s race war or drinking Kool-Aid with Jim Jones.

The Age of Aquarius always ends in Altamont and gulags. Why not also Jihad?

Adam Gadahn adapted Osama bin Laden’s message to a generation of teens who grew up believing that America was racist, “freedom and democracy that you call to is for yourselves and for white race only”, destroying the environment, ranting that “you have destroyed nature with your industrial waste and gasses… despite this, you refuse to sign the Kyoto agreement” (Adam had started out as an environmentalist), and oppressing the rest of the world. Starting with the leftist premise that America was evil, Al Qaeda made perfect sense. And to leftists it still does.

The first Al Qaeda influencer is postmortem piggybacking on a culture of radical activism that has made Islamic terrorism into the ultimate counterculture.

The Guardian profiles Americans who reacted to Islamic terrorism by reading the Koran and converting to Islam. The dead-eyed Manson followers and Jim Jones cult members are reading Korans and shouting “ceasefire”, they’re blocking traffic and having hysterics at the Capitol.

The Left has always drawn on fractured souls for its causes. Even more than dynamiting buildings, it set bombs to blow up the culture and its values. The more people it broke, the more recruits it gained. Islamists in America have gone beyond recruiting in prison and are recruiting from this same broken base. Mom and Dad may have protested the war, but Junior is a Jihadist.

Islam, like the Left, promises to destroy a failed world built on oppression and lies, in order to save it. Behind the apocalyptic idealism is the same perversity that led Adam Gadahn to threaten that, “the streets of America shall run red with blood.” Was this rhetoric really all that different from the anarchists, the Black Panthers or the Symbionese Liberation Army?

The radicals have become one great big apocalyptic gestalt, castrating teenagers, burning down pro-life centers, marching through the streets, tearing down statues and looting stores. The spectacle of it matters more than the details of the ideology. Like Mao’s Cultural Revolution, some teens robotically repeat verbose dogma they don’t understand, whether it’s Critical Race Theory or Hadiths, because it lets them run around destroying things and terrorizing people.

The destructive impulses that leftist radicals and Islamic terrorists channel are fairly similar. And not so different from the Hitler Youth. Put on a uniform, shock your parents and wreck things. The more you rage and hate, the stronger you feel and the more you bypass the hard work of adulthood. Radical politics is just another way for teenagers to never grow up.

‘Azzam the American’ was a Jihadist Peter Pan who never had to grow up. He’s dead now. And some of those radicals protesting for Hamas will eventually convert and follow in his footsteps.

Adam Gadahn understood instinctively how to take a foreign ideology and make it palatable to those like him, but we’re now in a world and a country full of Adams. Social decay has been supplemented by educational and pop culture indoctrination. TikTok is happy to spread Osama’s message as long as it weakens America. There is a world of strange bedfellows out there all happy to see us fall. And if we are not careful, some of them will be our children.

The return of ‘Azzam the American’ is a reminder that we’re not just in a war, but a culture war. A broken and divided nation is in no shape to defeat a vast enemy that is already inside our borders. The War on Terror is an extension of the old culture war we’ve been losing until now. Islamic terrorism could not succeed unless it could rely on a fifth column inside our countries.

After 9/11, it was clear that we would have to win an internal war to win an external one. Now as the wars come together and the enemy roams our streets, the need is more urgent than ever.

Either we defeat the enemy within or the war is lost.

A travesty of US democracy........Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) appeared last week on Jesse Watters’s show on Fox News to express his opposition to the RESTRICT Act.  The proponents of the bill claim that it will be used to ban the Chinese-owned social media platform TikTok.  But the critics of this legislation have pointed out that it grants sweeping powers to the federal government and the president to ban any application they label a ‘threat’. ....... Microsoft’s Extensive Ties to Beijing Could Muddy TikTok Discussions, Experts Say

The future of TikTok is in the crosshairs as the app faces a September ban from the United States unless its parent company sells it to Microsoft or another U.S. company. But Microsoft’s decades-long ties to Beijing could muddy the waters.

The video-sharing app, which is wildly popular among American teens, has come under bipartisan scrutiny over national security and privacy concerns in relation to its ownership. TikTok, which was acquired by Beijing-based ByteDance Technology Co. in 2017, is estimated to have tens of millions of active users in the United States.

The crux of the concern is that under a 2017 national intelligence law, Chinese companies are required to provide their data to the ruling Communist Party. While some experts are optimistic that a Microsoft purchase will bring an end to alleged backdoor data mining, others say the company’s own extensive ties with Beijing are a cause for concern..............
