Gun Control Humor

January 28, 2025 by Dan Mitchell @ International Liberty

The bad news is that I had only one column mocking gun control in 2024.

The good news is that this is in part because the pro-gun control crowd has been defeated and the issue isn’t generating as much attention as it used to.

To be sure, there’s no such thing as a permanent victory in politics, but we should celebrate the current state of play. The courts have upheld the 2nd Amendment and pro-gun control politicians don’t control either Congress or the White House.

So today’s collection of gun control satire should be considered celebratory.

Our first item is humorous, but makes a very serious point. If countless gun control schemes haven’t worked in the past, we should be very suspicious of people who want us to believe another law will make a difference.

Next, it’s always good when the other side unintentionally supports your case.

Here’s a cossetted Hollywood actor accidentally showing why it’s good to have an armed citizenry.

Our third item is very straightforward.

I normally am not a big fan of boosterism (I support the proper type of patriotism), but this meme makes me proud to be an American.

Amen. One of the few proper roles of government is to reduce crime by catching, convicting, and jailing bad people. The government is less likely to achieve that goal if it instead imposes gun control laws that merely disarm law-abiding people.............

P.S. For my entire collection of gun control satire, click here.

P.P.S. For IQ tests about gun control, click here, here, and here.

P.P.P.S. My favorite gun control columns (see here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here) feature leftists who have experienced epiphanies.

Republicans warn Dems: Stop ignoring crime crisis so you can push radical gun-control agenda

Candidates who are political in execution of duties denigrate public trust

(LAW ENFORCEMENT TODAY) – Frustration with President Joe Biden’s “stuck-on-repeat” gun control focus that lets criminals run rampant is boiling over in Congress. Republican leaders in both the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives are telling The White House that they are ignoring a crime crisis to push a radical gun control agenda. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), the Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, wrote a letter to President Biden to end partisan attacks to advance a gun control agenda.........To Read More....

Biden Goes For The Throat Targeting NRA And American Rights

Written by Magnus McCoy - January 13, 2021

We have all seen that Biden is not all there upstairs and what's worse he seems to have ties to China with his son. So there is no telling as to what is going to happen during his presidency. Is Harris going to take over right away or are we stuck with a bumbling fool that clearly has memory problems? But sadly even when he is having moments of clarity he seems t be against Americans. He just recently claimed that he planned to defeat the NRA, the only organization that has been fighting for Americans to keep their 2nd amendment. Just whose side is he on?

On the 10th anniversary of the Tucson shooting, Biden posted about how he plans to end the gun epidemic and defeat the NRA on his website.

"Ten years ago today, in Tucson, Arizona, six innocent lives were taken away by a senseless and brutal act of violence: Dorothy Morris, Judge John Roll, Phyllis Scheck, Dorwin Stoddard, Gabriel Zimmerman, and nine-year-old Christina Taylor Green. In the decade since, too many families have known the pain of losing a loved one to gun violence, of futures stolen and dreams cut down before their time. Today, Jill and I remember the people we lost in Tucson, and all of the families whose lives were irreversibly changed that day............To Read More......

Hillary Clinton Relentlessly Exploits Voter Ignorance

From gun rights to partial-birth abortion, she offers a haze of vague words and obfuscation

By David French @DavidAFrench

Let’s suppose for a moment that you’re a normal human being. And by “normal” I mean a person who keeps politics at a healthy distance. You’ve got kids, a challenging job, and thriving relationships. Your spare time is precious, so when you do get those few extra hours, you’re far more likely to spend them binge-watching Stranger Things on Netflix than brushing up on the latest trends in abortion legislation or on the text of unconstitutional municipal statutes.
So, as a matter of necessity, to make informed political decisions, you depend on candidates and members of the media to tell the truth. I mean that you depend on them not just to avoid bald-faced lies but also to be forthcoming, to accurately describe, as best they can, the issues and the meaning of any given controversy. At the very least, we demand that they not be deceptive, that they not exploit our understandable ignorance for partisan gain...........Read more

My Take - I've been saying this for years - everything you see on the news or read in the newspaper is a lie.  Lies of commission for sure, but mostly lies of omission.  It's the stuff they deliberately leave out that counts.  Society is ignorant by design on the part of politicians, news people, activists, educators and most disturbing - by the choice of society's members themselves.

Ignorance is the natural state, because being ignorant merely means we just don't know.  And when you consider just how much knowledge there is out there we're bound to be ignorant about a great many things.  But ignorance is fixable by learning, and with modern communications these continued levels of ignorance is a choice making it an act of stupidity, and you can't fix stupid.

Colorado Sheriff: We Have Not and Will Not Enforce New Gun Control

by AWR Hawkins 16 Dec 2013
Weld County, Colorado, Sheriff John Cooke says he and his deputies have not enforced the gun control laws passed in March and they will not enforce those laws.  Before the laws were passed Cooke said he would not enforce them, and since their passage he has made good on his promise.  According to The New York Times, Cooke explains his position by pointing to the myriad ambiguities and gray areas in the new laws.
For example, at a recent press conference Cooke held up two 30-round magazines, one of which was possessed before the new ban went into effect on July 1st and the other was purchased afterward--"maybe." He then "[shuffled] the magazines, which look identical, and asked the audience to tell the difference."
As the audience sat unable to comply, Cooke asked: "How is a deputy or an officer supposed to know which is which?"  Cooke is joined by other sheriffs both in his own state and around the country who refuse to enforce new gun control laws passed this year.   Siskiyou, California Sheriff Jon Lopey was part of a delegation of CA sheriffs who met with Governor Jerry Brown to ask him to veto gun control laws in October. Brown vetoed some, but signed others. ....To Read More....

My Take – What’s this?   Sheriff’s of various states deciding for themselves what laws to enforce?  Make no mistake about it.  This is the beginning.  Why?  When elected leadership fails to follow, or openly violates the primary law of the land – The United States Constitution – the respect for them and the laws they pass ceases.

As time goes by we are going to see more and more officials and the general public refuse to obey laws passed by Congress and state legislatures.  There are now so many new rules and regulations promulgated by the federal government that it is now impossible to avoid violating some obscure regulation.  This cannot and will not continue forever.

I believe we are on the road to economic collapse and that will trigger violence not seen since the Civil War, and we won’t have to worry about the ‘rule of law’ because there will be anarchy.  This has happened in past history so let’s not believe it can’t happen here.  With stupid leadership you don’t need a conspiracy to destroy a society, but stupid leadership that wants’ to destroy a society is truly frightening.

"Gun Free Zones Are Murder Magnets"

Katie Pavlich | Dec 16, 2013
Over the weekend, Gun Owners of America President Larry Pratt sat down for an interview on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace. When pressed for solutions about how to prevent mass shootings and violence in the future, Pratt reminded Wallace and viewers of an all too common place where these types of incidents take place: in gun free zones.
"The legislation that is on the books is lethal. It is killing people. All of these gun free zones are murder magnets, and we’ve simply got to get rid of them. It’s an illusion to think that somehow we’re going to be safer because we can’t have a gun in a particular area, because the bad guy is gonna have a gun."....To Read More...

Harvard study reveals gun control counterproductive

August 20, 2013 Steve Adcock
Once again, a study from an organization that you would never accuse of being “gun-loving” or “right-wing” seems to disprove the myth that the availability of handguns increases murder rates. In fact, it doesn’t.
The Harvard study attempts to answer the question of whether or not banning firearms would reduce murders and suicides. Researchers looked at crime data from several European countries and found that countries with HIGHER gun ownership often had LOWER murder rates…..To Read More….

In a study released by Harvard University, researchers found no link between gun control and a reduction in crime.
o   European countries with HIGHER gun ownership often had LOWER crime
o   Russia's (strict gun control) crime rate is 4-times higher than U.S.'s
o   No link between more guns and higher murder rates
o   Without guns, people find another way to commit crime
