P&D and the Week That Was

Truth is the Sublime Convergence of History and Reality

De Omnibus Dubitandum, (Everything is to be questioned!)

This Link will take you to My Commentaries.

By Rich Kozlovich

Back in June of 2024, there was a lot concern that if Trump was re-elected, a lot of DOJ and  FBI folks feared they'd end up in jail.  Well, the evidence is mounting that justified those fears.

James Comey has been all over the leftist media making his threat to have trump killed out to be a big joke, and they all just have a good time chucking and looking down their self righteous noses at Trump.  Well, the fact is, Comey is considered by a lot of people, including me, to be an unindicted criminal.  But that might soon change.    There's been an explosion over at the FBI.  It turns out they've discovered a secret evidence room that's:

"..........filled with bags of mishandled and concealed evidence has been discovered deep within the FBI, and it all traces back to the tenure of former FBI Director James Comey.".......... "His secret stash of untold horrors is about to be exposed, and it’s ugly"....."Wait 'til you read this stuff that’s coming out, You’re going to be stunned” “This isn’t just a filing error or a bureaucratic oversight,” Bongino declared. “We found bags of evidence, intentionally stashed and kept away from the public eye, the courts, and even internal investigations.”.............“This wasn’t incompetence...this was intentional”

All this information is classified and will have to go through the declassification process, and that will take weeks but according to Bongino:

“Once we’re able to release what we’ve found,” “the American people are going to have questions, big questions, about who was running the show, what was being hidden, and why.” "Legal experts are already weighing in on what could be an explosive development. If the materials reveal criminal misconduct or obstruction of justice, charges could potentially be filed, even against a former FBI director."

The FBI has been out of control going "full banana republic", and doing so for years, much of that pointing back to Obama and Eric Holder, but the Biden administration took it to a higher level of corruption, and the purge isn't happening fast enough.  The Obama cabal absolutely politicized all the intelligence agencies, including the FBI.

  2. Amid bias rebuke, FBI raids homes of GOP election clerk, conservative activists in Colorado
  3. FBI raids home of mom who protested school board - An FBI SWAT team raided the home of an activist mother of four in Colorado on Tuesday, Nov. 16, knocking down her door, bursting into the house with guns and handcuffing her while she was homeschooling her children......

Who's more dangerous to the Republic?  The Russians, the Chinese, or perhaps it's America's intelligence agencies in Washington?  These are the same people who branded half of the population of America as domestic terrorists, especially those Catholics who want a return to Latin mass.  You can see how dangerous that is to America ..... right?

  1. As Monica Showalter reported in April of 2023, the FBI was infiltrating Catholic Churches, investigating “Radical Traditional Catholics.” What made them radical, a threat worthy of the time and energy of the FBI? They like the Latin Mass. No doubt a distinction ferreted out by “experts.” FBI Director Christoper Wray professed shock—it was only one field office—and promised the investigation was shut down, until he had to admit it was several field offices, and maybe it really wasn’t so shut down after all......
  2. ORGANIZED EVIL: Newly Released Documents Reveal MULTIPLE FBI Offices Across the Nation Were Colluding to Target Traditional Catholics as Domestic Terrorists
  3. Biden Govt Used J6 & Mar-a-Lago Raid To Justify MORE Spying on Political Opponents
  4. Rogue FBI Agents Are “Opting Out” of Deportation Raids, Leaving ICE “Stranded”

There's been all this talk about how bad the conditions are at the J. Edgar Hoover FBI's headquarters building, and want a new building, and at some point they're going to get it, but in the meanwhile Trump is lessening that need by transferring a whole lot of the FBI headquarters staff all over the country.

There was, at least in my opinion, more than enough evidence to justify forming a massive all encompassing RICO investigation dealing with the FBI, CIA, NSA, appointed officials of the federal government, and elected members of Congress.  If this "secret evidence" turns into a nuclear explosion of criminal behavior, I don't see how that can be avoided.

Then we have the third American rebellion from the federal judiciary, with the latest, which Trump won on appeal:

Three Judges Blocking Trump’s Tariffs Have Decades-Long Histories of Democrat Activism -The judges on the U.S. Court of International Trade who ruled that President Donald Trump’s “Liberation Day” tariffs are illegal have a history of Democrat Party activism. Each of the members of the three-judge panel issuing the Wednesday ruling – which was stayed Thursday by an appeals court, allowing the tariffs to continue – fit the profile of other activists judges who continued their political activism after joining the court...Notably, Reif never registered for the selective service, according to his questionnaire. .....

The history of these judges demonstrates they're nothing more than political hacks, and I looked it up, it turns out failing to register with the Selective Service is a crime in the United States:

"a felony punishable by fines and/or imprisonment, according to the Selective Service System. Specifically, failure to register with Selective Service is a violation of the Military Selective Service Act, and conviction can result in up to five years in prison and/or a fine of up to $250,000."

By his own written admission he's committed a crime.  Why hasn't be been arrested?  After all, no one is above the law.

Then there's  Wisconsin Activist Judge Hannah Dugan Claims ‘Absolute Immunity’ Against ‘Ugly’ DOJ Charges.  She's doubling down on here "immunity" defense, claiming what she did was among her offical acts, and this "indictment violates both constitutional protections and judicial independence...... and .....her legal team also invoked the Tenth Amendment and the constitutional separation of powers".

Amazing how they can fall in love with the Constitution when it suits them.  But to me, this is the sound of desperation.  We're expected to believe hiding and deliberately helping a criminals to escape arrest from federal law enforcement officials is now falls under the category of official  duties for the judiciary?   Even in Wisconsin that's nuts.  And once again, her defense condemns her, since she's in effect saying she did exactly what the prosecutors said she did.

As for global warming, as an 40 year veteran of the structural pest control industry I pay attention to weather patterns because the weather impacts our profitability, and I have to say, this must be the coldest spring I've seen here in Northern Ohio in all those 4o years, and reminds me of English weather.

I watch the English gardens shows, the Brits are nuts over gardens, and as a result, this English weather has been great for my plants, my ferns are taller than ever, and I keep expanding my flower gardens.  This year I have a new shade garden, a new border garden, and reworked my front garden, and will expand that this year as I've ordered some new plants, including a tricolor butterfly plant, four of them actually.  As for my veggies....not so much... they love heat.

These last couple of weeks I haven't really been able to get my head into things, and today, I only have five offerings.  Weak ones at that in my view, and they were a struggle.  However, there are thirty really good pieces by seventeen authors you should find compelling.

Spring is here, have a great weekend, and always remember warm memories never wear out their welcome in our lives.  Extend yourself, reach out to others, especially your family, and create as many warm memories as you can.

Best wishes to all those of good heart.

Anti-Israel Activists Cheer D.C. Murder of Israeli Couple

By Daniel Greenfield @ Sultan Knish Blog

Elias Rodriguez opened fire outside the Capital Jewish Museum, killing two, a soon to be engaged Israeli couple, and wounded two others, but few media outlets reported his political orientation and his background. Or the outpouring of support from the anti-Israel Left.

In 2023, stickers reading “Exterminate Zionists” and the name of the Party for Socialism and Liberation appeared at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Rodriguez had been a member of the affiliated University of Illinois at Chicago and had been a member of the Party for Socialism and Liberation. According to Rodriguez’s manifesto, he became radicalized 11 years ago and was convinced that killing Israelis, Americans and Jews was the right thing to do. That was the same year that he was being quoted as taking part in protest rallies and speaking on behalf of the Party for Socialism and Liberation.

PSL claims that Elias Rodriguez only had a “brief association” with the Communist group, but even according to their timeline, the terrorist was with the organization for at least 3 years.

And likely more.

Rather than disavowing him, members of the pro-terrorist movement cheered his crimes.

Palestine Action US, which currently uses the Jihadist name ‘Unity of Fields’, distributed an illustrated version of the D.C. killer’s manifesto under his headline of “Escalate for Gaza”. It described the murder of an Israeli couple attending an event at a Jewish museum as “the rightful execution of the two nazi pigs” and hailed “the resistance that Elias will inspire.“

Rep. Rashida Tlaib had previously held an anti-Israel event featuring Palestine Action US, the Campaign for Palestinian Rights, Jewish Voice for Peace and the Islamist group EMGAGE.

The Bronx Anti-War Coalition declared correctly that “what Elias Rodriguez did is the highest expression of anti-Zionism” and “we need more Elias Rodriguez in this world.” Its rallies have featured banners with pictures of Islamic terrorist leaders and calls for joining Iran’s ‘Axis of Resistance’.

PSL tried to deny its link to the murderer, but did not condemn it. Rodriguez was simply implementing the PSL’s enthusiastic support for the mass murder of Jews, and the Communist terrorist switched from cheering the attacks from the sidelines to actually engaging in them.

The Party for Socialism and Liberation is a Communist party with Trotskyist roots. Its most publicly visible face are the anti-war ANSWER coalition protests after 9/11. After Oct 7, PSL focused heavily on anti-Israel rallies. At a rally after the Hamas Oct 7 attacks, a PSL speaker celebrated that Hamas had “liberated an area that is actually larger than the Gaza Strip.”

He joked about the Nova festival massacre that “there was sort of rave or desert party where they were having a great time, until the resistance came in electrified hang-gliders.”

Participants gleefully chanted “700” in reference to the then reported number of Israeli victims.

One of Rodriguez’s reposts was titled, “Don’t Blame Me, I Voted For Hamas.”

He also reposted speeches by former Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah along with Iranian slogans such as “De@th 2 Amerikkka” and “Death to Israel”.

PSL’s official response on Oct 7 described the Hamas atrocities as “a counter-offensive by Palestinian resistance forces” and argued that the “actions of the resistance over the course of the last day is a morally and legally legitimate response.” And it declared that, “resistance to apartheid and fascist-type oppression is not a crime!”

Rodriguez’s manifesto was titled “Escalate for Gaza. Bring the war home.” That’s been the premise of the pro-terrorist rallies, including by his old organization.

While PSL may seem obscure to most Americans, its presidential candidate appeared on the ballots of 7 states, including California, New York and Florida, Its presidential candidate Claudia De La Cruz however works for an organization funded by a Maoist millionaire operating out of Communist China which has been accused of acting as a front of the regime.

Like PSL, the People’s Forum described Oct 7, as an “unprecedented liberation struggle” by “Palestinian resistance factions”.

“We give our heart, we give our life, we give our blood to the Palestinian people,” Manolo De Los Santos, a founding director of The People’s Forum declared at a pro-terrorist rally in Manhattan. “We will use whatever we have in our hands. A rock or something else. We will defend the Palestinian people.”

The anti-Israel Left is rapidly rationalizing and even celebrating the murder of an Israeli couple because that is what they intended all along. They were never going to draw the line at blocking highways while glorifying Hamas. The goal was to get useful idiots like Elias to carry out attacks.

Why did a Latino man travel across the country to murder the couple? Because he had been indoctrinated into believing that it was the right thing to do by a network of terrorist groups pretending to be “pro-palestinian” or concerned about “human rights”, when what they actually wanted was a pretext for street and then terrorist violence and finally a revolutionary takeover.

While America has seen numerous Islamic terrorist attacks, the rate of individual Communist attacks has declined. The red-green alliance between leftists and Islamists is partly a means of revitalizing the terrorist capabilities of the Left. That’s why they’re celebrating Rodriguez’s murders because they’re not an outlier, the murders are where they want America to go.

Remembering the 14,000 People Killed by BLM

By Daniel Greenfield @ Sultan Knish Blog

In 2019, the FBI recorded less than 17,000 homicides. After George Floyd died of a drug overdose while violently resisting arrest, we would not see numbers like that again.

4,870 more people were murdered in 2020. Those excess deaths meant that Floyd and BLM killed nearly as many people that year as AIDS. And those nearly 5,000 deaths were part of a total of nearly 14,000 more excess homicides in the FBI crime database since then. (And those numbers are still incomplete because of reporting changes made by the FBI.)

The anniversary of Floyd’s overdose death on May 25th, 2020 led to an outpouring of political

commemorations of his death and musings about the need for yet more ‘racial justice’, none of which accounted for the 2,000 more black people killed in 2020 than in 2019.

The Floyd reckoning killed more black people than Hurricane Katrina did. The real legacy of the BLM race riots were 2,000 dead black people. The real legacy of the fists and kneelings were entire cemeteries filled with dead black bodies over the course of only one single year.

And coffins being placed in cemeteries across the country, planted there by the ‘reckoning’.

More Americans died in the BLM wars than were killed in the Afghanistan and Iraq wars combined. Or at Pearl Harbor. To find a conflict that was more lethal to Americans, you would have to go back to Vietnam. Far more were killed by the BLM crime wave than perished in Hurricane Katrina, not to mention Sandy, Harvey, Maria, Ike and the California wildfires.

George Floyd’s death was the single deadliest non-drug or disease event of any war or natural disaster in the United States in the last 40 years.

The 14,000 dead, many of them black, are Floyd’s true legacy. Those 14,000 did not tour the nation in golden coffins. There were no multi-million dollar payments to their families. Members of Congress in cheerfully colored outfits did not kneel by their gravesides. Most simply disappeared and became footnotes.

In Floyd’s hometown of Minneapolis, 48 people were murdered in 2019. In the Year of Floyd that shot up to 82, then 94 in 2021, 82 in 2022, 70 in 2023, and 76 in 2024. That adds up to 164 more people murdered in the years since Floyd’s drug overdose. Shootings in Minneapolis increased 105% and the number of gunshot victims nearly doubled in 2020.

Five years later, Minneapolis politicians remember that one accidental death, not the 164 murders that they were complicit in while they promoted a ‘reckoning’ on racial justice.

Murders once again went up in Minneapolis last year even as politicians hail a safer city.

A cottage industry of pro-crime groups has spent the last 5 years denying that there’s a crime wave. The media will periodically run stories accusing the public of falsely believing that crime is a problem even as people are randomly slashed on the New York City subway and dozens of victims die in weekend shootings. The Biden administration tainted the FBI’s data collection so that it can no longer be trusted past a certain point, and yet the bodies do not go away.

The public expresses concern about crime in poll after poll. Voters came out for Trump in 2024 in part because of their worries about crime. The only counter-argument by a party that had told Americans that fighting crime was racist was to tell them that they were imagining the murders.

But no one imagined it when LA and San Francisco booted Soros pro-crime prosecutors.

Five years after their last reckoning killed nearly 14,000 people, caused billions in damage, destroyed small businesses and livelihoods and set back race relations decades, they want another ‘reckoning’.

Americans deserve a reckoning, not with the fictitious claim that racist police officers are roving the streets looking to choke black men to death, but with the forces behind a destructive movement that took a bunch of amateur activists and their hashtag, and used them to destroy the criminal justice system and unleash rioters and criminals on innocent Americans.

A political movement backed by top foundations, including the Ford Foundation, and leading corporations, led to the deaths of the equivalent of the population of St. Augustine, Florida.

That’s the reckoning that should be happening.

If the drug overdose death of one career criminal led to a national reckoning, what should the murders of 14,000 human beings lead to?

We don’t need more racial reckonings, diversity commitments and pledges to end policing that killed 14,000 people. What we need is a reckoning for the reckoning. We need a reckoning with the billionaires and foundations, like Soros and Ford, that led us here. Their radical tax shelters need to be stripped from them, their fortunes garnished to cover the losses suffered by families and shopkeepers across the country. We need a reckoning with every politician that tweeted, attended and enabled the violence that continues to claim lives every single day.

We need a reckoning with the “fiery but mostly peaceful” media that could position a reporter in the middle of a firestorm and still claim that the riots which claimed countless lives were peaceful. And finally we need a reckoning with prosecutors and law enforcement who practiced the two-tier policing that allowed violent criminals to run rampant across entire cities. The ongoing violence by Hamas supporters and whatever shape the riots of tomorrow take are a warning that while the BLM riots have ended for now, they legitimized the idea of rioting.

It will take a comprehensive national legal reckoning to shut down rioting once and for all.

A true reckoning with the 14,000 victims of George Floyd’s legacy will begin with unleashing the police to get back to enforcing the ‘broken windows policing’ and other measures that he[ped make America safe in the 90s, and filling the prisons with career criminals using measures like ‘three strikes’ to end the revolving door crime wave enabled by not only leftists or Democrats, but Republicans who went along with ‘criminal justice reforms’ promoted by the Kochs.

The reckoning of the 14,000 should bury liberal and libertarian pro-crime policies along with those bodies. We should never allow ourselves to be fooled into buying the idea that closing prisons and freeing criminals is a ‘conservative’ policy or good for America. The cost of prisons is cheap compared to the cost of a massive crime wave. The cost of preventing a crime is always cheaper than the crime itself. And when we forget that, criminals will remind us.

May 25th should not be the day we mourn a violent criminal who robbed a pregnant woman at gunpoint, it should be the anniversary of the day we pledge to be merciless to criminals.

Because when we are kind to criminals, we are cruel to their victims. When we kneel at the coffins of criminals, they will bury us in them. Forget George Floyd, remember the 14,000.

Political Rebranding: Can SAM Save the Democratic Party From Itself?

An attempt to court the demographic most vilified by the woke mob might not go as planned.

The Democratic Party is looking to rebrand, or, at least, has begun to consider a makeover of sorts. A crushing election loss and nose-diving approval ratings have finally spurred some on the left into action. It is not yet certain that the party has nailed down the real reasons it suffered an electoral collapse in November of 2024 – which should be obvious – but preparations are now underway to repair the damage. Whether it succeeds or not is yet to be seen, but a new Democratic initiative, code-named SAM, is in the works.

Several Democrats have decided that the onus is on them to make changes. That’s a shift from the period between last year’s post-election tantrum and April of 2025. During those six months, the narrative adhered to by just about everyone on the left was that racism, sexism, and ignorance had motivated most American voters to reject the party of tolerance and diversity in favor of Trump’s mean MAGA machine. It now appears that a few influencers within Democratic Party circles have accepted that it was the party and not the electorate that fell short.

SAM to the Rescue?

One of the most obvious cultural misfires of many Democratic politicians has been the demonization of heterosexual masculinity. Progressives, including some identifying as journalists, have at one time or another linked right-wing extremism, white supremacy, and even fascism to masculinity, physical exercise, the eating of red meat, and, of course, guns.

It seems progressives like their males to be weak, emotional, and willing to date “trans women.” Notice an August 10, 2023, article published by Medium under the headline, “Not Wanting to Date a Trans Person is Transphobic…Here’s Why.” That’s not the only example of the far-left spreading a message that could not be more off-putting for any straight red-blooded American male.

This is where SAM comes in. Part of a new $20 million voter outreach scheme, SAM is short for “Speaking with American Men: A Strategic Plan.”

Kamala Harris’ 2024 deputy campaign manager, Rob Flaherty, recently told The New York Times, “Over a long period of time, our party overdrew our trust account with the American people.” That seems like a very clever way of saying Democratic politicians have, for decades, pandered to certain demographics, cynically courting their votes while doing little or nothing to improve their lives.

At the same time, they talked down to and alienated other demographics. Christians and blue-collar white males, in particular, appeared to have been pinpointed as groups many Democrats felt were beyond their reach or did not fit in the brave new world they imagined they were shaping.

Tim Walz-ing Matilda

The Harris presidential campaign appeared to operate in a fantasy world in which it was cruising toward a joyous and easy victory. However, it may have woken up to one of the harsh realities of the Democratic Party’s struggle. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz was roped in as Kamala’s running mate. As Walz himself suggested in a recent interview, he was picked because he could “code talk to white guys.” The very fact that he put it like that is proof enough that he could not, in fact, code talk to white guys.

Not only was Walz not the man for the job, but he also probably made things worse. Prancing around on campaign stages in the most unserious – and unmanly – manner, pretending to change an air filter in a truck, which, clearly, he had never done before. Walz showed that Democrats – once considered the working-class party – had completely lost touch with the average American male.

Liberty Nation depends on the support of our readers.

Speaking of men, putting the SAM project into action does appear to undermine the progressives’ insistence that everything should be viewed through a non-binary – as opposed to a “gender-specific” – lens.

The SAM initiative indicates that the left, while realizing they have lost most working-class men – and perhaps a growing number of male college students – has learned little. Throwing millions of dollars at a problem to fund research and focus groups is how the Democratic Party seemingly tackles every issue – often without positive results.

What Men Want

As well, they don’t appear to have understood the root of this problem. Men are supremely uncomplicated. They don’t want politicians to speak with them. Men want politicians to enact policies that will provide good jobs and give them the ability to provide for and protect their families. Men want law and order, guns, beer, baseball, football, fishing, and barbeques on July 4th – without being maligned for celebrating. Men want real women, not screeching, angry, blue-haired harpies. Men want the Star-Spangled Banner – sung the way it should be sung and not the hip-hop version.

The article from The New York Times that quotes Rob Flaherty also claims, “Communities that Democrats had come to count on for a generation or more — young people, Black voters, Latinos — all veered toward the right in 2024, some of them sharply.” That may be true, but it seems, again, that it’s the voters who are being blamed. Perhaps these voting blocs – if one is to assume they are monolithic – did not veer anywhere. Perhaps the Democratic Party veered sharply to the left, and these people saw Trump as a sane alternative.

Democratic officeholders may need to find some humility and figure out that most people, probably even a great many lifelong Democratic voters, quite likely do not want what they are trying to push. They do not want America remade into a dystopian, woke DEI fantasy world in which dissent or even a simple longing for traditional values is not tolerated. Maybe they want America, how it should be – how it was always supposed to be.

There is a final – and probably the most assured – reason why SAM will not solve the Democratic Party’s problems. It is almost certain that whoever is out on the streets, on the phones, and in focus groups will follow directives to do one of two things. They will be speaking with men in solid blue areas, and for the most part, they’ll hear things that validate what they want to believe men hope for and expect. Or, they will speak to men in solid red places and will be so mortified by what they hear that they will abandon SAM and return to vilifying those Americans who refuse to see things their way.

The Legitimate Scope Of Judicial Restraints On Presidential Authority; The Need For Politically Neutral Principles

Now more than four months into President Trump’s second term, there have been dozens of District Court injunctions blocking policies that the new administration has sought to implement. Deportations of gang members illegally in the U.S. back to El Salvador? Enjoined! Mass firings at USAID? Enjoined! Other mass firings at 22 other agencies and departments? Enjoined! Cancellation of funding of certain grants for Harvard? Enjoined! Ending of eligibility for Harvard to participate in foreign student visa program? Enjoined! Termination of federal funding for public schools maintaining DEI programs? Enjoined! Termination of security clearances for certain prominent law firms? Enjoined! And these are just examples among many more.

It seems that whatever new policy President Trump tries to implement, it will be enjoined within days by some left wing federal judge. Professor Adrian Vermuele of Harvard in a May 23 tweet called these pervasive injunctions “basically an automatic judicial veto on all new policy.” He commented, “let’s please not call it democracy.” It’s actually the opposite of democracy: President Trump tries to implement the policies he promised to implement and that the voters elected him to implement; and the unelected judges — almost all appointed by presidents of the party that just got voted out — stop him.

But before you get too outraged about the courts (and Democrat-appointed judges) blocking President Trump’s every move, let’s not forget about a few constraints that the courts imposed on prior President Biden. If you disagree with what the courts have just done in the list of injunctions in the first paragraph of this post, you might nevertheless find yourself agreeing with some big constraints that landed on Biden.

For example, in Biden v. Nebraska, the Supreme Court held that President Biden did not have the authority under the Higher Education Act to engage in mass forgiveness of student loans; and in West Virginia v. EPA the Supreme Court held that the Biden EPA did not have the authority under the Clean Air Act to force the closure of all electric power plants using fossil fuels. The Supreme Court justices who voted to imposed these constraints on Biden were all appointed by Republicans.

So almost everyone, left or right, would agree that the courts have at least some legitimate role in reining in overreach by the executive branch. But the cases are so politically charged that one’s view of the outcome of any given case tends to turn almost entirely on the party of the President who got blocked. Republicans cheer on the courts when they block Democratic presidents, and Democrats are currently cheering on the courts when they block President Trump. At the District Court level, both sides forum shop for a friendly judge appointed by a president of their own party when trying to block an action of a president of the opposite party.

What is badly needed here are politically neutral principles by which one can distinguish the legitimate uses of the courts’ role in restraining executive overreach from the illegitimate. Remarkably, the Supreme Court to date has not really laid down such principles to any significant extent. The reason for that is that before now cases have not come before the Court requiring it to do so. But now things are different. President Trump is challenging the rule of the permanent bureaucracy to a far greater degree than did the two Bushes, or even Reagan or Nixon.

I don’t think there’s any single easy bright-line test that can separate the legitimate from the illegitimate uses of the judicial power to rein in the president. Instead, as cases come before it, I think the Supreme Court needs to lay down a set of guidelines for the lower courts, and then enforce those guidelines via prompt reversals of lower courts that step out of line.

Here are some suggestions that I will make for some proposed politically neutral principles:

  • The Constitution must be the fundamental guide star of the enterprise. Most important are the provisions that “all legislative powers . . . shall be vested” in the Congress (Article I, Section 1), “the executive powers shall be vested” in the President (Article II, Section 1), and that the President “shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed” (Article II, Section 3).
  • Injunctions, and particularly preliminary injunctions, to force the executive branch to do anything, should be strongly disfavored. The main function of the preliminary injunction has historically been to preserve the status quo while the case proceeds. Many of the current round of preliminary injunctions have followed the opposite of this principle, for example by forcing the government to spend money that can then never be recovered. Note that neither the Biden v. Nebraska case, nor West Virginia v. EPA, involved any injunction. Rather, the Court just stated what the law is, and expected the executive to follow it.
  • There should be essentially no constraints on the President firing at will anyone in the executive branch. The alternative is that large numbers of people work in the executive branch who disagree with the President’s policies and work to undermine him. This is fundamentally at odds with the vesting of all executive power in the President, and with the President’s duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed. It is also fundamentally at odds with the principle of democracy, that is, that the people get to change the government’s policies by voting in a new President promising new policies. Yes, there are many statutes purporting to protect the jobs of government employees. To the extent that the employees in question have any role in deciding or influencing policy, those statutes are unconstitutional.
  • The courts should have a very limited role in forcing the President to spend money appropriated by Congress. Most appropriation statutes do not say that the President must spend the money, but just say that x dollars are made available for the program. The courts should not interfere in a President’s decision to spend less than all the money. Yes, it is different if money has been contractually committed, or if Congress has specifically directed that x dollars must be spent; but even in those cases, a new incoming President should have the ability to hold up funds on grounds that, for example, there may have been corruption that needs to be investigated.
  • The role of the courts should be very limited in situations that involve the core functions of the executive branch, for example decisions on how to enforce laws (e.g., immigration laws), and decisions with respect to foreign policy.
  • By contrast, an area where the courts have a very important role in keeping the executive branch in line is the area of potential usurpations of the legislative power through overreaching regulations or executive orders. This was the situation in both Biden v. Nebraska and West Virginia v. EPA, in both of which the executive branch under Biden sought to assert vast powers never granted to it by legislation.

Analogous to President Biden’s overreaching with student loan forgiveness and greenhouse gas regulations is President Trump’s overreaching with tariffs. Perhaps you are wondering how it is that President Trump asserts the authority to impose a tariff of 100% on some country one day, make it 200% the next day, then back to 50% a week later, and so forth in a series of dizzying moves. The answer is that there is something called the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, enacted back in 1977. The IEEPA grants power to the President to take certain actions, including imposing tariffs, in the event of the declaration of a “national emergency.” It turned out that giving Presidents the right to declare national emergencies was an open invitation to abuse. This is from Congress’s website:

As of January 15, 2024, Presidents had declared 69 national emergencies invoking IEEPA, 39 of which are ongoing. History shows that national emergencies invoking IEEPA often last nearly a decade, although some have lasted significantly longer. . . .

Numerous cases have been brought challenging President Trump’s use of the IEEPA and so-called “national emergency” powers for his series of actions on tariffs. The forum for these cases is the US Court of International Trade. Plaintiffs in the cases include many states (both red and blue) and something called the Liberty Justice Center. Here is a report from Professor Ilya Somin of the Scalia Law School on the argument of one such case that took place on May 24. Excerpt:

Judge Restani repeatedly noted that the government's position would allow the president to declare an "emergency" for any "crazy" reason, and then impose whatever tariffs he wanted.

I have not studied the details of these cases and the wording of the statute sufficiently to have a view of how it might come out. However, I do support the idea that the courts have a real role in restraining the President from making up the “law” as he goes along, thus usurping the legislative function that is delegated only to the Congress.

 Additions:

Three Judges Blocking Trump’s Tariffs Have Decades-Long Histories of Democrat Activism -The judges on the U.S. Court of International Trade who ruled that President Donald Trump’s “Liberation Day” tariffs are illegal have a history of Democrat Party activism. Each of the members of the three-judge panel issuing the Wednesday ruling – which was stayed Thursday by an appeals court, allowing the tariffs to continue – fit the profile of other activists judges who continued their political activism after joining the court.

World’s Best Tweet about Communism and Capitalism

May 28, 2025 by Dan Mitchell @ International Liberty

I shared a very clever tweet back in 2018 that highlighted the huge gap between “almost capitalism” and “almost socialism.”

That column was entitled the “World’s Best Tweet about Socialism and Capitalism.” And capitalism won the comparison (needless to say).

Let’s do the same thing today, but we’ll replace socialism with communism. And our “Best Tweet” comes from Youseef Kazembe, who shared this gem.

I don’t know this person, but the profile lists Austrian economics and bitcoin, so obviously a sensible libertarian.

And the assertions in the tweet almost certainly are correct.

Here’s a chart, based on the Maddison database, showing inflation-adjusted per-capita GDP in the world’s most capitalist nations and the world’s most communist nations.

Compared to Cuba and North Korea, there’s probably no genuine poverty in Switzerland and Singapore.

But those two rich nations do have some redistribution spending. And they definitely are rich enough to have private charity. So Youseef Kazembe is basically right.

And there is hunger (and even starvation) in Cuba and North Korea, as well as a fear of murder-by-government. So Youseef Kazembe once again is basically right.

My two cents, after looking at this data, is that the dupes and apologists for communism are terrible people.

P.S. Technically, communism is socialist economics (government ownership, central planning, and price controls) combined with political dictatorship.

The Governor of Massachusetts is a Hoot!

Susan Daniels May 29, 2025 @ Susan's Newsletter

“ICE agents stormed the islands of Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard and arrested 40 illegal immigrants — but Massachusetts' Democratic Governor Maura Healey demanded 'answers' and 'clarification' from ICE about the covert operation.” (DailyMail)

You’d think the irate Healey lived there, but you’d be wrong. She lives in Arlington, MA, with her partner Joanna Lydgate.

Healey may come to regret a comment she made: “It's one thing to go after and target those who have committed crimes, who are here unlawfully.”

So what’s the difference between those who are there illegally and those who are just there unlawfully? Healey didn’t define that for anyone.

“It's concerning when we see people, moms and dads, being ripped away from families,” Healey said. “Neighbors, coworkers taken away, literally it looks like, on the way to job sites in Nantucket and on the Vineyard.”

She must be worried about who is going to cut the grass, even though the apprehended included an MS-13 member and a child sex offender. But, damn, someone has to manicure the lawns and wash those pots and pans.

Healey must have forgotten that she was the MA Attorney General when forty-nine illegals were dropped off on Martha’s Vineyard in September 2022 and given the bum’s rush forty-seven hours later. She was silent on that matter.

But masked residents jumped right in 2022 and fed the illegals, gave some cots to sleep on, and waved goodbye to them within two days.

"Everything from beds to food to clothing to toothbrushes, toothpaste, blankets, sheets — I mean, we had some of it ... but we did not have the numbers that we needed," said Lisa Belcastro. She runs the island's homeless shelter in one of the wealthiest areas of the country.

Local high school students served as translators for the Spanish-speaking group, mostly from Venezuela, who arrived with the help of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

Despite their false claims, residents wanted them out as fast as possible in 2022.

DeSantis, said during a speech in Iowa in 2023: “We even were able to deliver 50 illegal aliens to beautiful Martha’s Vineyard. They said they were a sanctuary area. They had signs saying nobody is illegal. They said all the refugees and the illegals are welcome and then they deported them the next day. Are you kidding me?”

His speech was met with cheers and applause. Everyone in the country knew by then the hypocrisy of the residents called “Bay Staters” or “Massholes,” if you want to be crude.

Tourist season is upon Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket, extra hands are needed, and Healey claims she wasn’t notified about the raid.

According to the DailyMail: “Healey's comments sparked immediate and furious backlash from Trump administration DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.

“She told Fox News that local authorities were notified about the operation.

“Before the Governor criticizes our brave law enforcement, she should get her facts straight—apparently, she is the one with ‘zero information,’ McLaughlin said.

“What we find ‘disturbing’ and ‘concerning’ is politicians like Massachusetts Gov. Healey fighting to protect criminal illegal aliens.

“Our ICE officers will continue putting their lives and safety on the line to arrest murderers, kidnappers, and pedophiles that were let into our country by the Biden administration's open border policies.”

And that’s the end of that story—for now.

Fidel Castro: Leftwing Monster

By Rich Kozlovich

Recently I published this piece, The Nitwit Brigade on Parade, II, and before that The Nitwit Brigade on Parade, and Nitwits on Parade, and the one thing they all have in common is they suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome....they hate Trump.  But what's really the height of hypocrisy and abject stupidity, many of them in the past praised Castro as one of the world's great leaders, but in reality, he was one of the greatest mass murders in the last 100 years,.  All the while they cling to the lies of Castro having done all sorts of wonderful things for the people of Cuba.  All lies.

This is from Discover the Networks and it goes into depth showing how the economic conditions before Castro were better than in many European nations, and how Castro destroyed that putting his nation into abject poverty and tyranny.  The fact dystopia is the one constant when socialism/communism is imposed on a nation.  Dystopia follows socialism just as sure as Sancho Panza followed Don Quixote, a madman.

Fidel Castro entered Havana on January 8, 1959, to wild acclaim from all quarters. Most Cubans were jubilant; Castro was promising an end to the corrupt governments that had plagued Cuba since independence. Far from any Communism, Castro was promising a revolution "as green as Cuba's palm trees!" with national elections in three months. Private property would be secure, a free press guaranteed, friendly relations with the U.S. were essential……

Yet within three months of his entry into Havana, Castro's firing squads had murdered an estimated 600-1,100 men and boys, and Cuba's jails held ten times the number of political prisoners as under Fulgencio Batista, who Castro overthrew with claims to "liberating" Cuba…….

As with so much else regarding pre-Castro Cuba, major misconceptions abound in this editorial. To wit: in the 1950's the average farm-wage in "near-feudal" Cuba was higher than in France, Belgium, Denmark, or West Germany.

According to the Geneva-based International Labor Organization, the average daily wage for an agricultural worker in Cuba in 1958 was $3. The average daily wage in France at the time was $2.73; in Belgium $2.70; in Denmark $2.74; in West Germany $2.73; and in the U.S. $4.06. Also, far from huge latifundia dominating the agricultural landscape, the average Cuban farm in 1958 was actually smaller than the average farm in the U.S.: 140 acres in Cuba vs. 195 acres in the U.S. In 1958 Cuba, a nation of 6.2 million people, had 159,958 farms -- 11,000 of which were tobacco farms. Only 34 percent of the Cuban population was rural……To Read More....much, much more…..

Democrats, Republicans, the Media, and The 2026/2028 Elections.

By Rich Kozlovich

When push comes to shove the Democrats always march in lockstep, and assume ramming  speeds on their issues.   Historically the Republican’s would go all wiggly and then cave.  They don't fight, and one of the reasons why is getting a solid consensuses among Republican politicians is like herding cats.

Normal Americans have been abandoned by the party and I really don't know what many of them, like Thom Tillis, Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins, Mitch McConnell, and others of that ilk actually stand for, all of whom I think can easily be classified as the McCain Cabal.  Whatever is the driving force behind their actions, conservatism isn't the foundational values they embrace.

For the most part Republican's haven't really been conservatives, they talk the talk to get elected, and once that happens the fail to walk the talk.  They've been invertebrates who gutlessly go along in order to avoid being attacked, and the reason why is they're clueless and unable to intellectually defend conservative positions, and would do almost anything to avoid being attacked by the media. ... until now.   Truth be told, the real honey badgers of the Republican party have been the women.  Now the men are finding out it's really cool to be tough, smart, challenging the left, including the media, who they feared like death itself in the past.

But the times are a changing as the Pravda media has not been all that hot on history, facts, or truth, especially where it’s in conflict with their political prejudices, and now is circling down the drain, and some will be out of business soon.  The alternative media is ascendant!  Now the lies, corruption, and truth be told, the treason of the left is no longer being hidden behind the arrogant sneers and smirks of the Pravda media.  Transparency is ascendant, truth is ascendant, guts is ascendant, and glory follows guts.

Here’s the way I see it now. In 1963 the Congressional Record published the 45 Communist Goals to Destroy America. Goal number 15 was, “Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States”.  They captured one party in it’s entirely, and the other among the leadership, but that leadership is changing.

About 15 years ago or so…. probably closer to 20… they did a breakdown of the make up of the Republican party. Approximately 35 percent were Rockefeller Republicans, mostly the North Eastern leadership, 5 percent were Ron Paul Republicans and 60 percent were Reagan Republicans. But that’s changing as the leftist Rockefeller Republicans numbers have diminished dramatically, the Ron Paul Republicans are blending with the Reagan Republicans.

So, let the Republicans fight it out among themselves until the Thom Tillis faction becomes extinct, and let the Democrats stay true to who they are, and watch them dwindle in numbers. The may vote in lockstep, but they have no leader, they have no agenda except for hidden agendas they dare not publish, and they have no solutions.

Here's their agenda that's known by their actions.   Attacking Jews on American campuses, destroy Israel, uncontrolled immigration, promoting transgender athletes, promoting the murder of the innocent unborn, carving out special privileges for select groups, attacking Christians, and unrestrained spending and borrowing, their entire election strategy for 2026 and 2028 is to attack Trump, use a corrupt judiciary to thwart his efforts to save the nation economically, socially, domestically, and internationally, and be rude, crude, stupid, and violent.  With AOC and Jasmine Crockett being the current voices of the party, what could possibly go wrong?

If You Think the GOP Is Screwed Up, Check Out the Democrats - You may feel terrible about being a member of the Republican Party because it’s the stupidest party in American politics until you remember that the Democrat Party exists – and no, the Libertarian Party is not actually a party; it’s the motley crew of pot-addled sophomores holding forth in the dorm suite common area at 2 a.m. of American politics.

For all the failures, foibles, and follies of the inept GOP, the current Democrat Party is much, much worse off. I mean, just look at them. They’re treading water in a swamp of narcissistic mediocrity, abandoned by former allies like the working class, controlled by over-credentialed echo-chamber neurotics, and in thrall to a coalition of sexually confused neo-Marxist weirdos, losers, and mutations............

There Is Nothing Democrats Will Not Ruin - Is there a place in the country better off because Democrats have control over the local or state government? I mean, I guess if your hobby is getting pregnant so you can have an abortion, living in Chicago or Boston is a plus, but not if you’re a fan of things like not being robbed or shot. Otherwise, only slumlords and progressive “organizers” thrive in a world controlled by the left. And if you want to get your kid an education, forget about it. There is nothing Democrats can’t ruin, and there is nothing even potentially good they will not ruin.............

Anybody notice what's happened to San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf?-  It's well known that San Francisco is a urban disaster area, what with malls moving out, hotels shutting doors, conventions moving to other cities, thieves looting retailers with impunity, little shops fleeing, and entire districts full of homeless drug addicts looking like Dante's seventh circle of Hell.  But has anyone asked what's going on at Fisherman's Wharf, the city's most famous tourist destination? Sure, it's known as a tourist trap. But everyone likes to try its famous Italian and seafood restaurants at least once. Now it's a ghost town:..........

No sane person can believe those who are making noise to become the 2028 Democrat nominee: Cory Booker, AOC, Pete Buttigieg, Rahm Emanuel, Kamala Harris, Jasmine Crockett, Josh Shapiro, Andy Beshear, Gavin Newsom, J.B. Pritzker, and now it appears Beto O’Rourke is making noise for the nomination, can push their party back into control of the Congress or the White House. At least not without voter fraud on a massive scale, at which they’ve been expert.

My prediction for their 2028 nominee?  As of right now, I think Rahm Emanuel has the best shot.

James Comey is Suffering From TDS

Most America First Patriots who detested President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and the rest of the buffoons in the Biden administration wanted them replaced with conservative Patriots, not murdered. However, many on the left, such as former FBI Director James Comey, can’t breathe unless they are thinking about ways to “86” President Trump.

The “86 47” beach fiasco, which at a minimum shows Comey for the stupid little man he is (even if he stands at 6’8”) might not be enough to put him behind bars. How about any/all of these reasons to give Comey an orange jumpsuit?

· Giving testimony under oath to Congress and LYING!
· Leaking classified memos.
· Illegally surveilling the Trump campaign.
· Covering for Hillary Clinton when it was obvious HRC broke the law.
· Weaponization of the FBI, once the most trusted federal agency.
· Undermining a sitting president.
· Combining his hatred of Trump with supposed justice.

Remember How Democrats Treated Rush Limbaugh's Death?

We join a chorus of Americans with functioning brains who know that Joe Biden’s cancer diagnosis did not happen in mid-May. Now some Democrats say there should be no further inquiries into the misery caused by Joe Biden and his wretched administration. They seek sympathy for old Joey, which in our view is why the cancer announcement came after the Hur tape was released.

Let’s remember the “sympathy” for Rush Limbaugh after he passed away:

-Huffington Post (HuffPost): Rush Limbaugh, Bigoted King of Talk Radio, Dies at 70

-Daily Beast: Rush Limbaugh, the Human Megaphone Who Hijacked the GOP, Dead at 70

According to Not the Bee, hashtags "Satan," "Rest in Piss," and "Rot in Hell" were quickly trending when Rush’s death was announced.

Michigan Representative Shri Thanedar:

There were many people who first thought he was a joke seeking fundraising dollars and name recognition. So, when in late April Thanedar announced he was filing articles of impeachment against President Trump he really angered Democrats who did not want to go on record being for or against impeaching Trump. Minutes before the House was scheduled for floor votes, Thanedar said he would not force the vote.  Even Democrats saw the multi-millionaire Thanedar as a joke. That’s why radical Democrat Donavan McKinney announced he is challenging Thanedar in the primary.

Note: There are reports that one of Thanedar’s bankrupt businesses in 2010 used beagles and monkeys for animal testing and let them starve to death when the business went under.

"Wicked men who stir up strife wind up hurting themselves in the process."— Proverbs 6:12-15

Susan Daniels, who publishes Susan's Newsletter wrote to me saying:  Democrats were anxious for Joe Biden to stop giving interviews. Maybe that’s why the Hur interview recording was released – to embarrass Biden. Then, as an excuse for “disappearing,” his cancer diagnosis is made public when he might have been given the news about the cancer a while ago.

My view is that I think they would have found the cancer years ago and didn't want us to know that he would die in office. And, yes, I think they did exactly what Susan thinks they did. I don't expect him to have a long life. How much good is all that stolen money going to do him now?

Star Wars actor Mark Hamill mocked former President Donald Trump during the first night of
Mark Hamill Speaks:

Hamill has been an emotional Trump hater for some time, and in his latest unhinged rant he sneeringly calls him, ‘Dictator, Presi-Dementia', and apologized to Canada for Trump being President.  Here's a recent picture of Hamil.  And he looks sane? Don't you think?

But he's not alone.  He's joined by Rosie O’Donnell, Sean Penn, Bono, Pedro Pascal, Robert De Niro, Bruce SpringsteenJon Stewart, and a host of other celebrities.  Many of these people also think mass murderers Fidel Castro and Che Guevara were just the finest people in the world.  How is it possible for leftists to vent their irrational and unhinged views and still be considered sane?
