Around the Nation and the World

Events from around the nation:

States were devastated by hurricanes, and Americans who have lost homes and belongings from the recent hurricanes must have been thrilled when on November 17 Secretary of State Antony Blinken posted on X:

“Today we announced that the United States will support the city of Lima (Peru) in building a new passenger train line that will expand access to reliable and affordable transportation for over 200,000 people every single day.”

How insulting! Our own nation needs to be rebuilt, especially areas hit by hurricanes, but we’re giving money to help build Peru!

  • ARIZONA—Voters passed Proposition 313 which removes judicial discretion and requires a mandatory life sentence for anyone convicted of child sex trafficking. Before the law was passed, sentences ranged from seven years to life depending on the case.
  • MICHIGAN—Lisa Domski will be doing a lot of Christmas shopping this year as she won $10 million in punitive damages against Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, as well as $1.7 million in lost wages AND $1 million in noneconomic damages. Domski had worked for Blue Cross Blue as an IT specialist for three-plus decades but was fired for refusing to take the jab. She sued the company for religious discrimination against her Catholic faith—and she won!
  • CALIFORNIA—The once golden and now communist-leaning state is still counting ballots in some races! And guess what, in every instance, the Republican candidate that was once leading is now behind. With new CAGOP leadership coming, maybe this backwards state will join the 21st century.
Events from around the globe.

Denmark - In an effort to show that lunatics are not just in America’s Democrat Party, Denmark’s coalition government recently agreed to introduce the world’s first carbon emissions tax on agriculture. That’s a tax on cows and pigs farting.

Guatemala - Congressman Héctor Aldana wore a MAGA hat during a Congressional session. Aldana views Trump’s landslide victory as a positive change for Latin America, thus his hat had the words “Take America Back” along with Donald Trump’s name and the American flag.

Canada - Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced in a video that Canada will slow the number of permanent and temporary immigrants (aka illegal aliens) entering the country over the next three years. (Duh!) Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre said in a podcast interview:

"Now, [Trudeau] is basically denouncing his entire immigration policy and expecting us to believe that he can fix the problems that he caused. The bottom line is we have to fix our immigration, get back to the best system in the world, the one that brought my wife here as a refugee legally and lawfully, the one that brought so many people here to pursue the Canadian promise."

Jaguar Goes Woke

We would have thought that companies realized going woke was not the way to increase sales or customers, but as John Belushi used to shout on Saturday Night Live (when the show was funny), “But Noooooooo!” British Jaguar has made two changes that are sure to alienate many current and potential customers of the luxury automobile.

The growling big cat Jaguar logo that adorned its grilles and bonnets is gone and has been replaced with a round geometric badge that some say looks like the kind of logo you would see on a trendy handbag.

Jaguar’s latest commercial does NOT feature a car. The woke ad has a bunch of “colorful” men and women wearing clothes most of us would never wear—not even into our basement to do the laundry. Throughout the ad, these phrases pop up: 'create exuberant', 'live vivid', 'delete ordinary', 'break molds' and 'copy nothing'.

Someone forgot to tell Jaguar that woke is dead. To share your thoughts with Jaguar CEO Adrian Mardel: Email (media): jlrmedia@jaguarlandrover.com Phone: 800-452-4827 Write: 100 Jaguar Land Rover Way, Mahwah, NJ 07495
