Liberty Nation posted this piece, China Cools on Russia as NATO Offers Ukraine Bigger Guns,, outlining some interesting insights as to what Putin has in store for the rest of his "conquest" of Ukraine, by withdrawing from the Kyiv area. Strange way to conquer a nation, don't you think?
Ukraine has been amazingly successful with what's called asymmetrical warfare, using what's been called "Radio Shack Technology". "Inexpensive $2,000 commercial drones are being used in reconnaissance and anti-tank roles............. the [Ukraine] army, has been picking off tanks, command trucks, and vehicles carrying electronic equipment since the invasion began,”........“’We strike at night, when Russians sleep,’........... Russian forces are static when night falls,”.......Ukrainians have modified the drones to carry anti-tank grenades, which play havoc with the Russian armor and trucks. The drones are easy to carry, have high-resolution."
Now it's going to get worse. NATO, starting with the Czech Republic, must have decided Putin's strutting over all these years has been a magnificent act, but now the act is over and they're not nearly as impressed as they once were, or as scared of Russia as they once were, even Sweden and Finland are discussing joining NATO.
It's now clear Russia is incapable of marching down the North European Plain and waltzing right down into France. It's now clear they wouldn't get past Poland. So it appears NATO is sanctioning the decision to send heavier weapons to help Ukraine.
Putin's slaughter of the Ukraine civilian population has driven people directly in the opposite direction he wanted, and all these actions will alter the shape
geopolitics in Europe for decades to come, and even the UN is turning against him.
What's interesting is China is now expressing concern over all the civilian deaths being caused by Russian troops. Remarkable. The Chinese have no shame whatsoever. They're butchering their Uyghur Muslim population and starving their population to death over Covid and they're "concerned" about what Russia's doing? Imagine that!
But one positive thing about this disaster is China is now thinking if this open country with no natural barriers can inflict this kind of damage on Russia, what would happen if they attempted a amphibious landing on Taiwan, which is absolutely the most difficult military operation ever, they'd be slaughtered.
The Taiwanese military are clearly better equipped and far better trained than the Ukrainians, or for that matter the Russians and possibly the Chinese army, which hasn't fought a real war since Korea, and they were slaughtered there. And it seems clear they would get crucial support from the U.S. and I think quite possibly Japan, India, South Korea and the Philippine Islands. All of whom have been having a push and shove problem with China, and they're tired of it.
