State senators in California overwhelmingly supported setting up a task force to study potential reparations for slavery in a bipartisan vote Saturday. The panel would study the effects slavery had on California and recommend to the legislature no later than 2023 what type of compensation would be appropriate, how it might be dispersed and who could be eligible to receive it.
The task force could also recommend other forms of redress besides money. The 33-3 Senate vote came the same weekend as the 57th anniversary of
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech and as protests against racial injustice continued across the country.“Let's be clear: Chattel slavery, both in California and across our nation, birthed a legacy of racial harm and inequity that continues to impact the conditions of Black life in California,” state Sen. My Take - Can you hear it???? It's that giant sucking sound of population drain. However, I’m sure Bette Midler, Barbra Streisand, and the rest of the Hollywood crowd are there to stay. After all, someone has to pay all the taxes, and all the penalties California is imposing on its citizens. Since there’s a huge segment of California's citizens pay no taxes, or are illegal, or are recipients of all that gravitas, that leaves the entertainment and big tech stars of the left.
After a while I’m sure they’ll happily tell us how wonderful it was to be bankrupted by the leftist government they so love. Also, it will be interesting to hear them explain to us why the vast majority of those people never bother to work afterward.
I’m looking forward to all that. Especially the bankrupting part. Do you think they'll move? Nah....they won't mind pay through the nose to support insanity. Most of them can't tell the difference anyway.
