An Orwellian Documentary Hijacks Orwell

By Daniel Greenfield @ Sultan Knish Blog

The trailer for ‘ORWELL 2+2=5’ begins with a heavy voiceover declaring, “when I sit down to write a book, I write it because there is some lie that I want to expose”.

Two minutes later there is a photo of a BLM activist holding up an “I can’t breathe” sign.

Such unintentional irony pervades a documentary which claims that what George Orwell really wanted to warn about in ‘1984’ were the dangers of free speech and political dissent.

Not Communism.

An Orwell documentary that treats ‘misinformation’ as the sort of threat that Orwell was warning about, rather than an Orwellian term for demonizing speech and providing a pretext for government propaganda and censorship of the kind that we see in ‘1984’, has lost the plot.

But ‘ORWELL 2+2=5’ has an entirely different plot aimed at turning Orwell into Big Brother.

‘ORWELL 2+2=5′ was written and directed by Raoul Peck: a Haitian radical activist who made a movie celebrating Communist mass murderer Patrice Lumumba. George Orwell struggled against Soviet Communism. Peck made a hero out of the mass murderer whose name was on the Patrice Lumumba Peoples’ Friendship University in Moscow: the Soviet Union’s training ground for third world dictators and terrorists including Sandinista dictator Daniel Ortega, PLO leader Mahmoud Abbas and Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Peck’s previous movie ‘The Young Karl Marx’ was hailed as a “Communist bromance”. Orwell became famous because he was willing to criticise his own side. Peck only knows how to prop up his side and attack the other side. That makes him the worst possible candidate for the job.

Even though George Orwell had been writing about a leftist tyranny, the documentary executes its own version of adding 2 + 2 and coming up with 5 by focusing on democratically-elected leaders on the ‘right’, including Trump, India’s Modi, Hungary’s Orban or Israel’s Netanyahu, as his examples of “Orwellianism”. What would Orwell have made of the Labour Party’s mass censorship and arrests for political dissent across the UK? Don’t ask ‘ORWELL 2+2=5’ which contends that the real threat isn’t Keir Starmer’s mass arrests but milquetoast Nigel Farage.

In a world where the British government arrests people for ‘misinformation’ and has passed laws forcing its propaganda to have a place of pride on smart TVs, Peck can’t find any other parallel.

Are there no dictators on the Left? Even Xi and Putin are only there because as Peck had complained during his ‘Young Marx’ press tour “Russia, China, are totally capitalist.” CEOs can be “dictators” practicing slavery, but not Communist Cuba or kingdoms in the Muslim world.

This isn’t Orwell. It’s Orwellian.

Unintentionally true to its name, ‘ORWELL 2+2=5’ keeps adding up 2+2 to get 5.

In ‘ORWELL 2+2=5’, mass censorship of social media isn’t the problem (it’s the solution), but the excessive freedom of speech on social media is what truly poses a threat to freedom. The documentary implicitly treats the Hamas invasion of Israel on Oct 7 as something other than war (presumably it was peace) while Israel fighting back is war. Peck, who claimed that “I want people to look closer at the ugly side of Israel” wants to use “War is Peace” to attack Israel. Instead he only ends up affirming the cynical double standards behind Orwell’s anti-slogan.

Similarly mass surveillance of political opponents on the right by the left in America and Europe is freedom. By the time Peck starts warning about “misinformation” from conservative media and the dangers of online free speech, ‘ORWELL 2+2=5’ has become Big Brother.

But ORWELL 2+2=5’s malignant genius is turning George Orwell into Big Brother, a big black and white head on a screen, reciting ominous phrases (actually being played by the actor who played Nick Brody on ‘Homeland’) and urging us to fight against and hate various groups like Republicans and Jews as the enemies of all that Mr. Peck believes in. Rather than an expose of lies, Orwell’s anti-slogans like “Slavery is Freedom” and “War is Peace” become propaganda that could just as easily have been recited by Big Brother accusing everyone else of his crimes.

It’s the ultimate tone deaf Orwellian reading of Orwell being falsely billed as the “ultimate and comprehensive documentary film about the exceptional writer George Orwell.”

‘ORWELL 2+2=5’ is not here to expose lies, but to push them, hijacking George Orwell’s legacy in the most Orwellian manner imaginable. That begins with the bowdlerized opening quote about exposing lies which alters what Orwell said and removes the context of why he said it.

George Orwell was explaining that he wrote ‘Animal Farm’ and why he was going to write ‘1984’ to expose what could not be said about Soviet Communism using the medium of fiction while being impelled by a need to denounce Soviet lies. ‘ORWELL 2+2=5’ strips away the context and uses the long dead writer as a club to attack President Trump, Bush, police officers and Israel.

Removing the specific political context from terms like “lie”, “war” and “freedom” and then aiming them at political enemies while pretending that nothing has changed isn’t Orwell, it’s Orwellian. Universalizing and updating Orwell was the usual approach of leftists who were uncomfortable with what George Orwell, an English writer named Eric Blair, was really saying about their complicity with a radical leftist totalitarian state and their schemes to censor his writing.

The “lie” that Orwell was referring to was the lie that pro-Soviet leftists were telling about Communism. And the lies that they were telling about him to silence him and end his career.

“Orwell has been put in a little box as an anti-Stalinist or an anti-Soviet, anti-authoritarian regime,” Peck complained, while arguing that his documentary ‘universalizes’ him. More aptly it puts Orwell in a box and turns him into a shill for every establishment leftist cause.

‘ORWELL 2+2=5’ isn’t really about the writer, it’s about weaponizing him under the guise of ‘updating’ him. George Orwell was a perpetual rebel who spent much of his life rebelling against leftist dogma because he tried to do his best to follow first principles. The concept is foreign to Raoul Peck who can only churn out militant agitprop to radicalize his fellow bourgeois.

What would Orwell’s positions be on some of the issues he’s employed against in the doc?

Take J6, a major feature of ‘ORWELL 2+2=5’, which depicts the protests and riots, rather than the mass surveillance, relentless crackdown and militarization of D.C. under the guise of “protecting democracy” that followed in its wake, as the true Orwellian offense. But George Orwell was writing about the dangers of totalitarianism, not the danger of political protests.

That’s why Orwell could deplore Oswald Mosley, a British fascist, and support locking him up when a Nazi invasion appeared imminent, but also argue that detaining him when the danger had passed “was an infringement of every principle we are supposedly fighting for.”

Orwell might well have been no fan of Trump, but also would have warned about the rather obvious threat of totalitarianism from sending in the troops to occupy the nation’s capital, mass censorship of skepticism about the election and hefty prison terms for the same behavior that was hailed when it was being conducted by people on the left side of the spectrum.

Anyone claiming to speak in Orwell’s name ought to be able to do at least as much.

The mature Orwell was capable of both outrage and principled nuance. He was constantly engaged in self-examination that is entirely foreign to the heavy-handed propaganda of ‘ORWELL 2+2=5’. Take Orwell’s confession that, “I had reduced everything to the simple theory that the oppressed are always right and the oppressors are always wrong: a mistaken theory, but the natural result of being one of the oppressors yourself.”

This “simple theory”, which Orwell whacks away in one casual sentence, is the heart and soul of not only ‘ORWELL 2+2=5’, but Raoul Peck’s entire great obsession with ‘colonialism’.

‘ORWELL 2+2=5’ is cheap propaganda of the kind that the real George Orwell always hated the way that he hated the simplistic sloganeering and distorted reality produced by Marxism.

The opening quote about Orwell writing books to counter lies is used to imply that the writer believed in the supremacy of politics over art because all art is political. This tenet of Social Realism has been at the center of modern woke culture wars (in opposition to ‘ars gratia artis’ that art should exist for art’s sake). When you hear the insistence that all books, movies and music is inherently political, you are hearing this argument being applied to modern pop culture.

But did Orwell really believe? Of course he didn’t.

“The Marxist critic, by reducing everything to economic causation, destroys the meaning of literature, which is not just a reflection of class but of human experience,” Orwell warned.

George Orwell, or rather Eric Blair, was a man, not a set of political slogans. Raoul Peck boasts of exclusive access to Orwell’s letters, but all he does with that is use Orwell’s literary pseudonym to go after political opponents on the grounds of their favored economic theory.

Writers and directors are supposed to create art rooted in the human experience. Peck is capable only of distilling political theories into on-screen tirades. He isn’t fighting Big Brother.

‘ORWELL 2+2=5’ is Big Brother.

Adam Schiff and Letitia James: The Real Face of Politics

By Rich Kozlovich

Both Letitia James and Adam Schiff arrogantly attacked Donald Trump like wild dogs in a killing frenzy accusing him of crimes he didn't commit, and smiled for the cameras while doing so.  Which has turned out to be a schadenfreude moment since both of them are totally guilty of the crimes they accused him of, and a far worse level, and face serious prison time and hefty fines if found guilty.

It gets better all the time, get this.  Letitia James says her mortgage fraud charges  should be thrown out as it's ....  watch out now..... here it comes.... selective prosecution.  This from a person who ran to be New York's Attorney General openly saying her goal was to prosecute Trump for...... whatever she could get away with, and did so with no evidence of criminal activity, no victims, and a corrupt judge.  In her case the evidence is overwhelming she committed major crimes of mortgage fraud and did so for decades.

I think it's interesting that criminal behavior seems to follow Letitia James like Sancho Panza followed Don Quixote, a mad man, as she's been housing family members who have criminal backgrounds, and have generated a lot of attention by the police.

Adam Schiff epitomizes arrogance and corruption.  He  relentlessly pursued Donald Trump making claims that are now provably false, knowing they were false.  As it turns out now he's in deep trouble.

Schiff now faces a serious Department of Justice probe into allegations of mortgage fraud. The allegations are far more concrete than anything he ever claimed against Trump.

The investigation centers on whether Schiff falsified bank documents and property records in order to secure favorable mortgage terms on his Maryland residence, all while claiming a California condo as his primary home during his 2023 Senate campaign.

According to federal officials, the Federal Housing Finance Agency referred the matter to the DOJ after discovering evidence that Schiff may have repeatedly misrepresented his residency on loan forms. Potential charges include wire fraud, bank fraud, and submitting false financial statements. The charges are felony offenses carrying real prison exposure.

He faces serious prison time and hefty fines, but in spite of the overwhelming evidence against him.

If DOJ prosecutors can prove intentional deception, Schiff could face a criminal case far more severe than the “paperwork error” characterization his allies are already pushing..............

Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) told reporters he has spoken with Republicans who are disquieted, if not dismayed, by the increasing weaponization of the Department of Justice.

Okay, so, let me get this right.  We're expected to believe the man who lied about his Vietnam service?

"Blumenthal argued that prosecuting Schiff would “tear down the rule of law that protects them and all Americans.”

Well, that's really interesting since according to the Democrats "no one is above the law", which are words no Democrat will utter for the next eleven years, but not only did the Democrats have no objection to the corruption of the rule of law against Trump and his supporters, they demanded it.

The rule of law demands prosecution for criminal activity, that's not weaponizing justice, it's enforcing justice.

News Anchors Beware: Your Job is in Danger

By Greg Mathers

This is a commentary from Robin Itzler's Patriot Neighbors and originally appeared on R3publicans

The broadcast news industry is undergoing a seismic shift that threatens traditional news anchor roles. Artificial intelligence (AI) has advanced to the point where AI systems can now search, compile, and present news content with human-like quality. This technology represents an existential threat to television and radio news anchors who have dominated the industry for decades.

According to recent industry reports, AI news anchors are transforming broadcast journalism through lifelike digital presenters that never sleep. These virtual hosts combine advanced speech synthesis, facial animation, and real-time content generation to deliver personalized news coverage 24/7. The technology has reached a point where AI anchors sync audio and video seamlessly, creating engaging broadcasts that rival human delivery quality.

The technology behind this revolution includes sophisticated systems that scan news websites like Censored.news, compile relevant stories, and generate complete news segments. These AI systems utilize both male and female synthetic voices that sound increasingly natural, eliminating the tell-tale robotic tones that characterized earlier text-to-speech systems.

Perhaps most remarkably, these AI systems don’t just read the news – they analyze and discuss it. Advanced language models enable the AI anchors to have conversational exchanges about the content, providing commentary and analysis that mimics human news teams. This capability moves beyond simple reading into genuine content engagement and discussion.

The innovation extends to multimedia integration, where these AI systems can transition from news discussion directly into musical segments. As demonstrated by the audio available at Censored.news’ latest mp3, the technology can incorporate songs that relate to the news topics just discussed, creating a seamless
multimedia experience.

Industry analysts note that smart automation handles routine broadcasting tasks while human journalists increasingly focus on investigative reporting and editorial decisions. This shift creates more efficient newsrooms where technology amplifies, rather than replaces, human judgment in complex storytelling while automating routine news presentation.

The personalization capabilities are particularly transformative. AI systems can tailor news content to individual viewer preferences, creating customized news experiences that traditional broadcast cannot match. Real-time analytics track viewer preferences instantly, helping shape stories as they develop and ensuring content matches audience engagement patterns.

As noted in the State of AI Report 2025 (stateof.ai), these developments represent the most significant shift in broadcast news since the transition from radio to television. News organizations worldwide are adopting this technology to reduce production costs while maintaining consistent programming quality, fundamentally changing the employment landscape for traditional news anchors.

National Debt and The Government Shutdown

By Rich Kozlovich

The last couple of weeks the media has been the "secret" supporters of the Democrat's position on the government shutdown in their war to once again attempt to destroy The United States America.   All this spending plays into the strategy by creating an entire society based on government dependence, giving them the power to destroy the Constitution and have leftists take over the government at all levels creating a totalitarian socialist society.  Truth be told, if Kamala Harris had been elected, it might have happened, and it can still happen as we're seeing the invertebrate Republicans beginning to buckle to Democrat demands.

Once again.... definition leads to clarity, and for clarity's sake...... fascism isn't right wing, it's left wing, it's socialism.  Socialism is the mother philosophy of both fascism and communism, two sides of the same coin, and truth be told, totalitarianism if foundational to all the "isms", and has been since the French Revolution.

I've written a lot on the dangers of our national debt and what do to about it in

$9 trillion: foreign treasury surge!, saying:

The UK has overtaken China as the second-largest foreign holder of U.S. Treasuries, as total foreign ownership hits an all-time high of $9.05 trillion.

  • Foreign holdings of U.S. Treasuries hit $9.05 trillion in March
  • The UK surpasses China, now second only to Japan in U.S. debt holdings
  • China cuts its holdings to $765 billion, continuing a five-month selling streak
  • Japan remains top holder with $1.13 trillion in Treasuries
  • Analysts cite trade tensions and diversification as drivers of China’s divestment

Whether this reshuffle signals a fleeting trend or a structural pivot remains to be seen. But for now, the message is clear: trust in U.S. debt endures, even if China is taking a step back.

So, that says foreign nations trust American debt?  Really?  What it says to me is these are loser nations who are major owners of America, and America has reached a turning point on debt, and the Big Beautiful Bill added trillions of dollars in national debt, and the media plays along with this outrage.

For that matter we really need to start asking what is the justification for borrowing 38 trillion dollars to fund every idiotic costly political pandering scheme ever developed, and that includes both parties.  With an interest payment of "$881 billion in 2024 and projected to nearly double to $1.6 trillion by 2034. These rising costs now surpass spending on areas like Medicare and national defense, and are projected to become the second-largest category of federal spending."

 This can't go on.

Senator Everett Dirksen once said
"A billion here, a billion there, and pretty soon you're talking real money", and while it's being said he really didn't say that, he never retracted it in his lifetime either.  The fact is he's been categorized as being fiscally conservative and socially liberal, which is in fact cognitive dissonance, and his voting record shows that, and so too does that kind of cognitive dissonance apply to the Congress and the administration today.

My grandfather was one of the world's great economists.  He said if you spend more than you make you'll go broke.  He made his living as a coal miner and a farmer, but he wasn't a stupid coal miner/farmer, unlike so many economists I've read over the years.  It's said statistics is an arcane science as you can make statistics say whatever you want them to say, and I think that applies to economics as well.  But in the end, if you spend more than you take in, bankruptcy follows.  It really is that simple.

Update:   Bad News on the National Debt - It's now $38T, the fastest accumulation of $1T outside of the pandemic. In the midst of a federal government shutdown, the US government's gross national debt surpassed $38 trillion Wednesday, a record number that highlights the accelerating accumulation of debt on America's balance sheet,

Kent Smetters of the University of Pennsylvania's Penn Wharton Budget Model, who served in President George W. Bush's Treasury Department, told the Associated Press that a growing debt load over time leads ultimately to higher inflation, eroding Americans' purchasing power and making it less possible for future generations to achieve home ownership goals. The Government Accountability Office outlines some of the impacts of rising government debt on Americans—including higher borrowing costs for things like mortgages and cars, lower wages from businesses having less money available to invest, and more expensive goods and services.

The Joint Economic Committee estimates that the total national debt has grown by $69,713.82 per second for the past year. Michael Peterson, chair and CEO of the Peter G. Peterson Foundation, said in a statement that "reaching $38 trillion in debt during a government shutdown is the latest troubling sign that lawmakers are not meeting their basic fiscal duties." "Along with increasing debt, you get higher interest costs, which are now the fastest growing part of the budget," Peterson added. "We spent $4 trillion on interest over the last decade, but will spend $14 trillion in the next ten years. Interest costs crowd out important public and private investments in our future, harming the economy for every American.".......

Election Day Comments, Before and After

Let’s look at some of the comments made before Election Day.

Bill Maher, liberal commentator—podcast:

"He (Mamdani) definitely has the power and influence to elect JD Vance, or whoever is the Republican candidate next time. It is a walking commercial for the Republican Party nationally."

President Donald Trump; Truth Social

"If Communist Candidate Zohran Mamdani wins the Election for Mayor of New York City, it is highly unlikely that I will be contributing Federal Funds, other than the very minimum as required, to my beloved first home, because of the fact that, as a Communist, this once great City has ZERO chance of success, or even survival!

"It can only get worse with a Communist at the helm, and I don’t want to send, as President, good money after bad. It is my obligation to run the Nation, and it is my strong conviction that New York City will be a Complete and Total Economic and Social Disaster should Mamdani win."

Lyle J. Rapacki, Ph.D.; Arizona Today (excerpt)

"Zohran Mamdani is an example of the anti-American, anti-Christian assault already underway to collapse this exceptional (not perfect) nation. Our founding principles are far and away removed from the Marxist/Islamic darkness working to destroy what was given to us if we would keep it.

Do not think only large cities are the targets. Small and rural communities are a major target of the Marxist movement with the thought that no one will really pay attention to who serves on a public parks board, or library board, or zoning committee, etc. Slowly and deliberately, deceptively and appearing innocent but with new ideas, personalities, like New York City Mayoral candidate Mamdani are coming into the light - NOT to serve but to collapse the unique and wonderful country given to us.

Come out of your comfortable numbness! WAKE UP…America is under assault."

Read New York City on Edge of Collapse by Lyle J. Rapacki, Ph.D.

Let’s look at some of the comments made after Election Day:

Scott Pinsker, “PR Fallout of an Electoral Drubbing: How MAGA Fights Back” - PJ Media

"Mamdani’s left-of-Lenin politics, Jew-hatred, and unabashed anti-Americanism make him the perfect foil for the Republican Party. He’s the living, breathing embodiment of every leftwing trope, stereotype, and cliché."

Jim Hoft, “Socialist Mayor-Elect Zohran Mamdani Declares War on President Trump” - The Gateway Pundit

"This is the new Left, obsessed with tearing down not only Trump but also the millions of Americans who believe in faith, freedom, and the rule of law."

Chef Andrew Gruel, X post (regular guest on Gutfeld)

"Exit polls show 92% of California voters who voted yes on prop 50 thought they were voting to impeach Trump."

Arthur Schaper, “Election 2025: What Happened?”, American Thinker (excerpts)

"A lot of the new MAGA Trump voters are centrist or liberal-leaning independents who have joined the GOP. These voters don’t get engaged beyond the presidential elections. Republican activists must concentrate their efforts on getting them to vote more.

"Republicans need to understand that they have to maintain a winning message and a winning organization, whether President Trump is running at the the top of the ticket or not. Republicans cannot get comfortable with trusting that a spirit of Trumpism or a veneer of Trump sentiment will pull them across the finish line for every future election."

Read Election 2025: What Happened? By Arthur Schaper.

Gary Bauer, American Values (excerpts from Nov. 5 newsletter)

"Election Day was a massacre at the ballot box for Republicans. It was also a tremendous defeat for anyone who believes in faith, family, and freedom. The Left swept virtually everything. Across the country, it wasn’t just Democrats who won, but far-left socialists who won.

"Many of our political allies believe that Mamdani will be the “kiss of death” for the Democrats. That’s wishful thinking. It would be true if it were 1980, 1984, or 1988. It was less true in the 90s, and it’s not true today when 66% of Democrats have a positive view of socialism.

"Both AOC and Mamdani are left-wing, populist demagogues. They know how to rally the average person to their banner. The affordability issue is H-U-G-E, and a significant part of the GOP establishment doesn’t get it."

Click here to sign up for Gary Bauer’s End of Day Report.

John Nolte, “GOP Can Fully Embrace MAGA or Face More Tuesday Night Election Beatings,” Breibart News (excerpt)

"Fourth, it really is the economy, stupid; and, of late, Trump has been awfully distracted with world events — trade deals, peace deals, etc. There’s been a lot of world travel. There’s been a lot of success. Nevertheless, the Trump Administration needs to refocus on Making America Great Again, which is a lot less attractive to any president. After all, overseas, U.S. presidents hold all the power. Domestically, it’s all about in-fighting, compromise, haggling, and partial victories. The lure of foreign policy is obvious, but it can also be a trap."

Finally:

In his acceptance speech, communist Zohran Mamdani told President Trump he had four words for him regarding what will be happening in New York City: Turn up the volume.

President Trump responded on Truth Social with his own four words: And so it begins ..

Socialism Didn’t Win. Social Media Hype Did.

By Daniel Greenfield

1. No, Mamdani Doesn't Have a Mandate.

Zohran Mamdani won a little over 1 million votes (at current count) in a city with a population of around 7 million adults.

That’s about 14%.

The total election turnout was a little over 2 million (that will likely increase) making for an election turnout of 28%.

That’s not even a third of New York City’s population.

New York City’s election turnout has always been weak. And while the city has a large illegal alien population, it still has 5 million registered voters. That’s a below 40% turnout rate even for registered voters.

The media is hyping this as the highest election turnout in decades. Only if you don’t pay attention to population growth.

In the 1993 showdown between Giuliani and Dinkins, a racist hack who let the city burn, and whom Bill de Blasio viewed as an inspiration, 1.9 million voters turned out in a city with a smaller population and 3 million registered voters for a 59% voter turnout.

The turnout fell in the 2001 election that was effectively a referendum on Giuliani’s policies by Bloomberg, versus another liberal Democrat, was at over 40%.

So no, this isn’t a mandate.

Putting together 1 million votes in a city whose Muslim settler population is somewhere below 1 million (most estimates are dubious) and whose leftist population is certainly in that range is not a big deal.

The opposition didn’t put together enough votes. Everything rested on turnout and with the Muslim settler population and the leftist TikTok voters and college students, Mamdani had a cushion that was hard to beat.

It’s not a mandate. It’s colonization and apathy.

2. Socialism Didn't Win. Social Media Hype Did.

Two mayoral elections in major cities with two candidates.

Both Omar Fateh and Zohran Mamdani followed the familiar AOC playbook of seizing their party’s nomination in low turnout primaries or in Fateh’s case, DFL conventions, against an established candidate.

Both were Islamists running on ‘free stuff’ and socialism.

Mamdani beat Cuomo in New York City while in Minneapolis, Jacob Frey appears to have defeated Fateh.

The difference didn’t come down to policies, it came down to social media hype.

Mamdani kept that fake smile up the entire time and painstakingly followed the ‘people’s struggle’ handbook of pretending he was representing some electorate other than fellow Muslims and leftists. Omar Fateh tried the same routine, but it doesn’t help that he looks like a fairy tale goblin.

Smiling only gets you so far when you look like you’re about to demand that a fairy tale queen guess your name or you’ll make off with her daughter.

Mamdani mostly benefited from massive amounts of astroturfed social media hype.

We’ve seen the waves of fake hype for Obama before, not to mention other radical candidates like Bernie Sanders and Ron Paul, in which a small social media campaign by radicals pumps up a candidate that otherwise no one would care about. It only works when the candidate, like Obama, has enough charisma to front it. No amount of hype could make anyone make Bernie Sanders or Ron Paul president. And the hype wasn’t enough for the Minneapolis goblin.

Socialism is only a part of it. The radical candidates don’t really run on socialism. They run on hype aimed at low-information voters. Especially young ones. That worked for Mamdani, but you have to have the media training, the looks, the polish and the personality to make it happen.

Those can be manufactured.

Consider the difference between the pre-politics and post-politics Mamdani.

Would this guy, who looks like the neighborhood sex-offender, have won? Less likely.

And compare 2000 era Obama with the guy who eventually took over the party.

Mamdani didn’t win a policy debate. He won a personality contest.

And would Mamdani had even won if he were facing a single focused opponent instead of two aging narcissists from the past who spent half their time squabbling with each other? Much like the Obama era might have been averted if the GOP hadn't run a holdover from another era who got the nod because 'it was his turn'.

3. These elections weren't about the issues. They were about the economy.

The average voter cast ballots based on his or her perception of the state of things and a big part of that is the economy. Trump and Republicans had that going for them in 2024. They don’t in 2025 and they won’t in 2026.

This is an urgent reality check.

Yes, Republicans and conservatives will agonize that Virginia voters didn’t make their decision based on the Jay Jones death threats. It’s 2025. Moral qualifications for candidates are deader than Gary Hart (correction Gary is still alive) which is why Graham Platner is doing better than ever after the SS tattoo and the Communist declaration. There may be nothing too awful that a politician can do to be morally disqualified. People vote down party lines, they vote based on which party they think is screwing them harder, based on identity politics and just sheer ‘cussedness’.

Conservatives become complacent. These elections should be a dash of cold water. President Trump has done a lot of great things, but much of the country is still agonizing over prices, over the economy at ground level, and is not feeling good about the state of the nation. Unless that changes, not just Dems, but Islamists and the far Left will exploit the opportunity to take more positions, climb the political ladder and eventually take over the country.

We’re not safe. We’re in the middle of a war. The echo chambers have become too cozy and we’re seeing too many memes while losing sight of the battle.

There’s still time before 2026 and 2028. But only so much time..

The Shutdown is Over, and Schumer's Toast

 By Rich Kozlovich

Well, in spite of all the support Schumer and the rest of the nitwits in Congress were getting from the media supporting the shutdown, it's over, and no conservative is shocked at the outcome.  In the past the traditional invertebrate Republicans would crawl to the Democrats begging for crumbs while giving away the store.

But there's a new sheriff in town, who refuses to play their game, and their game strategy always needed the media to control the narrative in their favor, and it failed.  The media can no longer control the narrative as demonstrated in this interview where little Georgie Slopadopoulos got his marshmallows toasted by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.  Little Georgie's response?  “We Don’t Need a History Lesson Right Now”!   Bessent refused to be sidetracked forcing exposure of Little Georgie's hypocrisy.  Something these media types aren't used to.

But they'd better get used to it, at least as long as they're still in business, because their halcyon days are over.    We always need a history lesson because history is everything, and the reason the left doesn't want a history lesson is because history and reality are the two greatest enemies of leftism since they never align.

The shutdown was theatre by Schumer trying to save his seat in the Senate by appeasing the far left, the dominant force in the Democrat party.  But he couldn't defend his position with any degree of intelligence as demonstrated when Schumer fled the Senate when he was challenged by Ohio Senator Moreno over health care subsidies.

He's been abandoned by seven of his Senate colleagues, but but make no mistake, it's not only the left who are anti-Trump, but there are those who proclaim to be conservatives who hate Trump.  Mitch McConnell didn't hold power without support of people like Thune, Cornyn, Graham, Collins, Murkowski, and even Rand Paul with some of the positions he's taken in recent days.

Now the Democrats are demanding Little Chuckie's head and now it appears AOC will be the next Senator from New York instead of Schumer, which will be interesting to watch as she faces people like Senator Kennedy.  Make no mistake, she's far dumber than Schumer, in spite of her degrees in economics and international relations from Boston University.   Lesson to be gleaned from that?   Don't send your kids to Boston University.

What is Wrong with Sweden?

This article goes back to 2013 saying, Suddenly, it's 'bigoted' to be Swedish, as Muslims are pushing European nations to commit cultural suicide, and with the support of their national leaders.

In the drive for Scandinavian culture to utterly annihilate itself as fast as possible, let it never be said that art galleries and institutions failed to do their part. Oslo’s “New Nordic Art” website (as an example) reveals that “Nordic” has evolved to mean any person with absolutely no genetic, historic, cultural or especially religious connection to the region itself.

Proof of the native purge is the list of artists from “Costa Rica, China, Israel, France, Palestine, Haiti/Switzerland, USA, UK, Lebanon and Japan.” Featured artists “reside” in Norway at some point, which is fine, but they seem to have entirely eclipsed anyone with a Norwegian grandmother. Why the serious snub of indigenous Scandinavians?.......

Akhtar Chaudhry, the speaker of Norway’s Parliament since 2009, has been pushing to change Norway’s flag to better suit Muslims there who only account for at most 3.4 percent of the entire population. No one has inquired if a change would offend indigenous Norwegians, who apparently no longer have any political voice.....................

What’s wrong with Sweden?  Their leaders are overwhelmingly leftists who promote idiotic policies of inclusion and tolerance to a movement this is the most intolerant group of people in the world – worshipers of Islam.  Here is Islam, genocidal Muslim terrorists killed 200,000 people in 11 years.  The problem lies in definition.

We really do need to get this.  Islam isn’t a religion!   Islam needs to be officially classified as terrorist movement. It’s a criminal political movement masquerading as a religion, or as Geert Wilders has said:

"Islam is a lie, Muhammad a criminal, the Koran is poison”.

Muslim thugs are taking over whole areas of cities such as Paris, London, and other European cities, and even the police won't enter into these Muslim controlled "no go zones".

The curtain is rising, the actors are in place, the script is written, and the consequences will be disastrous, and as predictable as night follows day.  Sweden's leaders demand their people make all sorts of adaptations in their own culture in their own homeland in the name of one of the left's most sacred secular religious tenets, multiculturalism. They're forcing their societies to accept these emotionally deranged criminals - who demand western civilized societies accept them just as they are – violent, intolerant and misogynistic, supposedly all that western civilization stands against.

It’s clear that the real enemy of the Nordic peoples in Sweden, Denmark and Norway aren't the Islamists. It’s their ‘Nordic” leaders. They have allowed these ravenous wolves to run amok in their societies, and then excused them for their criminal behavior. At some point the Scandinavian people will have had enough of this and there’s going to be violence. And it will be the fault of these leftist leaders.

 Image
Is that true? Well, all they have to do is read a history book, since it isn’t like we don’t have hundreds of years of history - supported by current events - to know this, and take a look at the news to recognize nothing has changed with Islam, the left must be insane, and while this was 12 years ago, nothing has changed in Sweden.

An Eritrean man who sexually assaulted this sixteen year old girl won’t be deported because it wasn’t that “serious” of an offense. The reasoning? He had a premature ejaculation during the rape, so since the rape didn't take much time, it doesn't count, and he can stay in Sweden, free to assault another girl, maybe even younger.

Christians and Jews Are Now Second Class Citizens in the UK

If you are Jewish and openly wear a Star of David necklace, you can be told to hide it as it might be offensive to Muslims. But Muslims who block traffic to pray or protest, no problem. Muslims who commit crimes? Not a problem. The speech police (an actual part of the UK’s law enforcement) can arrest some- body who they believe MAY “cause offense” to somebody.

But when Muslims hold rallies explicitly calling for the murder of Jews and Christians, nothing happens to them. In fact, the British police do their best to protect Muslims. Do you know who are often arrested? British citizens holding Union Jack flags! The Observatory on Intolerance and Discrimination against Christians in Europe (OIDAC Europe) notes that in 2023, there were 2,444 anti-Christian hate crimes reported across 35 European countries.

In England and Wales alone, 702 incidents were recorded between April 2023 and March 2024, representing a 15 percent increase compared to the previous year. From the OIDAC: A study highlighted in the report surveyed 1,562 respondents from dif- ferent Christian denominations and age groups in the UK. It found that 56 per cent of respondents reported experiencing hostility and ridicule when discussing their religious beliefs, rising to 61 per cent among those under 35. Additionally, 18 per cent of respondents felt they had been disadvantaged in their workplace due to their Christian faith. In April, Vice President J.D. Vance spoke at a National Conservatism event and rightly said:

“UK will be the first Islamist country with nuclear weapons.”

A just released video shows that on August 29, London police arrested a Jewish man wearing a small Star of David necklace because they said his necklace would “antagonize” Muslims who were protesting.

If you think it can’t happen here, just imagine what would be happening today if Kamala Harris was in the White House and Democrats controlled Congress. Robert J. O’Neill, the SEAL who killed Osama bin Laden, posted on X:

“Since NYC is about to elect a jihadi, communist mayor and Hamas is on our college campuses, does it really matter if I carry more than 3.4 oz of mouthwash onto an airplane?”

Why did America save Great Britain in WWII if it is morphing into Nazi Germany? Click here to watch the video.

Here's more below, and this is the tip of the iceberg showing the demise of Great Britain.  Actually, a 100 year old WWII British navy veteran wonders if the sacrifices his generation made to save the UK was worth it saying:

“I can see in my mind’s eye those rows and rows of white stones.  All the hundreds of my friends, everybody else, who gave their lives.  For what?  The country of today.  No, I’m sorry, the sacrifice wasn’t worth the result that it is now."

Kamala’s F____ Rebrand

Daniel Greenfield @ Sultan Knish Blog

After blowing through $1.5 billion to lose an election, Kamala is back. And wants to run again.

“I am not done,” Kamala Harris declared. “I have lived my entire career as a life of service and it’s in my bones.” The terrible polls won’t be stopping her because “if I listened to polls I would have not run for my first office, or my second office – and I certainly wouldn’t be sitting here.”

Kamala’s previous presidential campaign foundered when she couldn’t explain what the Harris-Walz administration would do differently than the Biden-Harris administration. This time around she can’t explain how she would run any differently in 2028 than she did in 2024.

107 Days, her campaign book, blames everybody and everything else for her defeat, including the Biden team, racism, sexism and only having 107 days in which to figure out who she was.

470 days later and counting, Kamala Harris is still claiming that Biden was “competent to serve” and couldn’t explain what she would have done differently except that we have to “do better”.

The only notable difference a year later is that Kamala has taken to swearing on camera.

The 2024 version of Kamala pitched “joy” while the 2025 one has taken to saying “F__” a lot.

“Are you f_____ kidding me? This guy wants to create a ballroom for his rich friends while completely turning a blind eye to the fact that babies are going to starve when the SNAP benefits end in just hours from now!” Kamala ranted on Jon Stewart’s podcast. “I’m not going to be distracted by, ‘Oh, does the guy have a big f_____ hammer!?’ What about those babies?”

While Kamala appeared somewhat inebriated in that podcast, this seems to be her new brand.

On her book tour for 107 Days, she screamed that “to have some level of concern and care, if not basic f____ curiosity for other people” only to have her audience break into wild hoots and applause at the F-word.

“Right. I’m just like, ‘f___ it!'” Kamala showed off on another podcast.

At a Hollywood event about ‘misinformation’, Kamala claimed that “we are living history right now” and then shouted, “these m______” are crazy.”

The old Kamala used word salads, the new Kamala uses obscenity salads. She nerves herself up, shouts an obscenity into the microphone and then starts laughing at her perceived naughtiness, like discussing a sex scene in an Oprah book club, as the audience cheers.

Adding an F___ here or there doesn’t actually make Kamala any more coherent, but it distracts the audience from the senselessness of what she’s saying. The more she swears, the less you notice the random non-swear words that she arranges into a sentence like a broken chatbot.

But the carefully calculated Fs are another symptom of her hollowness. Rather than figuring out how to talk about the issues voters care about, Kamala tinkered with her personality again.

Voters, she has been told, are angry and value authenticity, they’re drawn to outsiders, and Kamala Harris decided to give them authenticity in spades by sounding angry and throwing out occasional curses. “’Oh, does the guy have a big f_____ hammer!?’ What about those babies?”

The voters wanted authenticity, but she misheard that as obscenity.

This is what Kamala was doing during those 107 days. Rather than understanding voters, she went into a hall of mirrors, played with her hair, adjusted her personality and then brought out celebrity guests. When that personality didn’t work, she tried on another one and another one. Elections are a costume party in which she dresses the part in the hopes of getting the job. That’s why we met Kamala the prosecutor, Kamala the social justice advocate, Kamala the wine aunt and Kamala the party girl, the one person we never met and never will is the real Kamala.

And there may not be a real Kamala. While we know there is a real Obama, the one we only occasionally see peeking through the angry cracks in his studied routine, there’s every reason to think that she’s all surface, a living hall of mirrors with no self deeper than the one we see. Kamala can’t relate to voters except by shapeshifting into another ‘relatable’ version. If you don’t like Kamala 3.0, try Kamala 4.0 who drinks on camera and says “F____” sometimes.

And if that one doesn’t work, well there’s at least 1,000 more days to go until 2028.

The new F___ Kamala isn’t any more appealing than the old one, but she is tapping into the fury of her base, the Hillary base, of upper middle class liberal women who hate Trump, but have no real strong political views beyond imitating whatever is popular on their social media feeds.

They instinctively recognize that Kamala, like Hillary, is one of them, having long ago sacrificed any hope for a normal life on the altar of ambition, who also tries to keep up with a pop culture that she’s too old for and who are frustrated that their non-existent talents are never sufficiently recognized after being promoted several levels above their actual competence and usefulness.

Kamala is relatable to them, but to no one else, and to a party whose base is already sliced so microscopically thin that it hardly exists outside of a few downtowns, bedroom communities and college towns, that’s not the best strategy. The only reason that Kamala, like her old peer and rival Gavin Newsom, got anywhere, was the willingness of some very rich people in the Bay Area to fund their ambitions. But $1.5 billion later, the Bank of Kamala is permanently closed.

And so Kamala is angry. The anger is slopped all over 107 Days: a book so toxic that it made a candidate that everyone in her party already hated that much more unelectable because it revealed that she’s not really angry at Trump, but at everyone in the party who didn’t do enough for her. Kamala resents Biden, his inner circle, Obama, and just about everyone in her party.

Democrats hate their party also and that gives them a limited common ground with Kamala. It allows her to go on tour while blaming some nebulous group of insiders for not propping her up and that’s where the relatability falls apart. Dems are angry because they believe that their party didn’t fight hard enough while Kamala is angry that they didn’t pander to her hard enough.

When Kamala shouts “F____”, she’s mirroring their anger, but not the real reason for the anger, and yet she’d like to harness that anger all the way through the primaries and to the nomination.

Gov. Gavin Newsom, even more of a chameleon than Kamala, who got started in politics by watching VHS tapes of Bill Clinton speeches and adopting his mannerisms (right down to chewing his lip during times of emotion) and then adding obvious echoes of Obama and Trump into the mix for a shapeshifting goulash, has now also started trying to sound very angry.

Unusually, Gavin’s got a point.

By 2028, Dem voters will be up to a boiling pitch of fury. Every nominee will be raging, throwing out “F____”s like the vulgarity store was having a Black Friday sale and trying to mirror their rage. Kamala, Newsom, Buttigieg and AOC, their faces red, their fists clenched, their feeds emojied will bestride the stages of New Hampshire and the caucasus of Iowa and scream.

As Joe Biden, who by then may well be dead or institutionalized, once told Obama, “it’s a big F____ deal.”

The Lies They Tell About Obama

They will never be true no matter how many times they print them in Buzzday

Susan Daniels Nov 07, 2025 @ Susan's Newsletter

Barack Obama’s parents have become famous in U.S. history due to the significant role they played in their son’s life. Barack Obama Sr. was a Kenyan economist who left when the younger Obama was a toddler. Ann Dunham was a scientist who studied people and their cultures. She worked in Indonesia, where Obama Jr. lived during his childhood.

Ann Dunham was an anthropologist whose job was to help women get small loans to start businesses. In reality, it was to identify Communists for extermination by the Suharto government. She worked for the CIA under the guise of working for USAID and the Ford Foundation, both CIA fronts. Obama lived there with her from the ages of six to ten.

While Obama Sr. left the family permanently, Dunham also left him. After her son was born, she relocated to Seattle to pursue her studies at the University of Washington. They met up with Obama Sr. again in 1962, a year before he left for Kenya. Obama Sr. also attempted to persuade Dunham and Obama Jr. to move with him in the 1970s, but they refused.

Her son was not born in Hawaii. He was likely born in Vancouver, B.C. Obama Sr. never saw his son because Ann Dunham left Hawaii in early 1961. She was never seen pregnant there, and did not return until August 1962, when her son was one year old. She had finished one year at the University of Washington. Obama Sr., who is not his real father, left Hawaii two months earlier in June 1962.

Barack Obama’s mother was known as Ann Dunham when she was an adult, but her name was Stanley Dunham when she was a child. She believed her father, Stanley Dunham, named her after himself after he got over being disappointed that she was a daughter and not a son.

She knew her father named her after himself because he wanted a son.

When Ann Dunham and Barack Obama Sr. got married, they kept their marriage a secret. The wedding coincided with other significant news. Dunham was pregnant with Barack Obama Jr., who was born six months later.

They were never married, despite her claims. No marriage license has ever existed in Hawaii. When Obama Sr. landed in Hawaii, he left behind in Kenya a wife, Kezia, and two children. Although no marriage license exists, there is a divorce in 1964. She had to prove to immigration that she was not married so that she could marry Lolo Soetoro and move to Indonesia.

Dunham and Obama Sr. got married in February 1961, when marrying someone of a different race was against the law in some states.

They were not married, and “no” it was not illegal to marry someone of a different race in Hawaii in 1961. Unlike many other U.S. states at the time, Hawaii never enacted anti-miscegenation laws, and interracial marriage was legal.

The 44th U.S. president isn’t the only Obama to have graduated from Harvard University. Barack Obama’s father got a Master’s degree in Economics from the same school in the early 1960s.

Obama Sr. got his undergraduate degree in Hawaii. He then went to Harvard to study for a Master’s degree in Economics and a PhD. However, Harvard refused to allow him to finish his thesis there because of his behavior and sent him home even though he had finished all his class work. He could not have graduated without finishing his thesis, although he did call himself Dr. Obama when he returned to Kenya.

His low life of chasing women caused the university to force him to leave. Harvard refused to extend his stay. A redacted letter tells how he got a teenage exchange student pregnant, sent her to England for an abortion, and she was not allowed back into the country.

The first and only time he saw his alleged son was on a return trip to Hawaii in 1971, when Barack was ten. Barack took him to school for “Show and Tell.”

Obama Sr. moved to the U.S. to study, planning to return to his home country to help build its government after Kenya gained independence in 1963. He put that goal above everything else, even his family.

He returned to Kenya in 1964, secured a position as a government economist, and later advanced to the role of senior economist. He seemed to be doing well. However, Obama Sr. disagreed with President Jomo Kenyatta’s economic approach from the outset — and he wasn’t shy about expressing his views.

Obama Sr.’s sharp tongue didn’t endear him to the Kenyatta administration. He wasn’t getting the promotions he thought he deserved. As the older Obama saw his dreams slip away, his behavior became increasingly erratic.

He started drinking a lot and driving without thinking. After Kenyatta died in 1978, Obama Sr. secured a position with the Ministry of Finance. “But I think he never got over how upset he was about what had happened to him,” his son said. He died in a car accident in 1982.

He had three car accidents while drunk. The second one caused him to lose both legs, and he died in the third one.

Barack Obama thinks his mother was a victim of a bad healthcare system. Ann Dunham was diagnosed with ovarian (a woman’s female reproductive organ) and uterine (the womb) cancer in 1995. She had just moved back to the U.S. from Indonesia, where she had been told she had indigestion the previous year but it was wrong.

Dunham, who had divorced Soetoro in 1980, was diagnosed with cancer in 1994 in Jakarta, Indonesia, and delayed treatment until she returned to Hawaii in 1995.

In her final months, Dunham dealt with paperwork to see if her cancer would be considered a pre-existing condition.

Dunham died in November 1995, a few months after she was diagnosed with the illness. Obama could never separate her insurance loophole from the fact that she died at 52. In his 2020 memoir, “A Promised Land,” Obama wrote: “Passing a healthcare bill wouldn’t bring my mom back.”

Ann Dunham was diagnosed a year earlier. Obama lied in his speeches about how she was a victim of the medical insurance industry. He pumped that lie up during his quest to pass Obamacare. His mother had full health care coverage when she died; she was fighting with Cigna over “disability insurance” in a dispute over several hundred dollars a month in deductibles and other uncovered medical costs. At the time, she had a job paying $85,000 a year, health insurance, and a company car.

Prove me wrong.

Federal District Judges Running The Executive Branch: Even Justice Jackson Draws A Line

N

The first nine months of the President Trump’s second term have seen repeated instances of a Federal District Court judge temporarily enjoining some action of the administration, only to have the Supreme Court stay the injunction while the litigation proceeds. Examples of this pattern of events have occurred in cases involving such things as funding rescissions, staff lay-offs, and deportation procedures.

A recurring feature of this pattern has been dissents from the three liberal Supreme Court justices — Kagan, Sotomayor and Jackson — who would have left the temporary injunctions in place during the pendency of the litigation. Justice Jackson, in addition to joining the other two liberal justices, has also issued several individual dissents strongly criticizing her conservative colleagues for vacating temporary injunctions from District Courts.

The question of whether the administration gets enjoined while litigation proceeds, versus an injunction getting issued only at the conclusion of full litigation, is very consequential. Full litigation of any one of these cases through a District Court, Court of Appeals, and Supreme Court, could take four years or more — in other words, the entire presidential term. If a temporary injunction gets put in place by a District Court judge when the case starts, and then litigation proceeds for four years with that injunction in place, that would mean that the Trump administration never gets to implement its policy at all during its term in office — even if the Supreme Court ultimately rules that Trump had the authority to implement the policy all along. With enough of these temporary injunctions, the entire Trump administration could be tied up in knots, and prevented from doing much or even most what it was elected to do.

The past week has seen two more instances of the pattern play out. But notably, in one of the cases that reached the Supreme Court on Friday November 7, the District Court injunction proved too much even for Justice Jackson. In that case Justice Jackson herself issued an administrative stay of the District Court’s temporary injunction.

The first of these two cases to reach the Supreme Court this week was Trump v. Orr. This case involves a Trump first-day (January 20, 2025) Executive Order that directed that the federal government would only “recognize two sexes, male and female,” and further directed the State Department to “require that government-issued identification documents, including passports, visas, and Global Entry cards, accurately reflect the holder’s sex.” Seven “transgender” individuals challenged the Executive Order, and their case came before District Judge Julia Kobick in the District of Massachusetts. On June 17, Judge Kobick issued a temporary injunction, barring the federal government from implementing the new policy. The Justice Department then went to the First Circuit Court of Appeals, which declined to stay Judge Kobick’s ruling. On September 19, the Justice Department filed an emergency appeal to the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court issued its decision on November 6. There is a four paragraph unsigned opinion on behalf of the six conservative justices, followed by a 12 page dissent from Justice Jackson, in which Justices Kagan and Sotomayor joined.

The remarkable thing about this case is that there was no statute from Congress that the plaintiffs said the administration was violating. The policy to allow passports matching “gender identity” rather than biological sex was nothing more than a policy of the State Department, which had changed a previous policy of the State Department that had been consistent with the Trump administration position. The majority opinion dispatches with the plaintiffs’ argument in a few sentences, notably this one:

Displaying passport holders’ sex at birth no more offends equal protection principles than displaying their country of birth—in both cases, the Government is merely attesting to a historical fact without subjecting anyone to differential treatment.

Justice Jackson meanwhile works herself up into some high dudgeon:

[S]enseless sidestepping of the obvious equitable outcome has become an unfortunate pattern. So, too, has my own refusal to look the other way when basic principles are selectively discarded. This Court has once again paved the way for the immediate infliction of injury without adequate (or, really, any) justification. Because I cannot acquiesce to this pointless but painful perversion of our equitable discretion, I respectfully dissent.

Justice Jackson’s dissent never discusses the issue that the practical effect of the result she asks for would be to have a lone District Judge in Massachusetts running the State Department passport-issuance process for the four years of the Trump presidency.

But then the very next day, November 7, a case came to Justice Jackson that crossed even her line for what a District Judge ought to be able to do. The case is Rollins v. Rhode Island State Council of Churches, and involves the question of whether the federal government must “fully fund” the SNAP (food stamp) program during the current government shut-down, despite lack of congressional appropriations for the program.

The Rhode Island Council of Churches brought their case in the District of Rhode Island, and got themselves before the Chief Judge of that court, noted partisan John McConnell. For those unfamiliar with Judge McConnell, before President Obama appointed him to the bench he was a partner of the Motley Rice law firm, one of the lead counsel in the massive tobacco litigation that ended in a $240 billion settlement in 1998. McConnell’s total personal compensation from that litigation has not been disclosed, but Legal Newsline reports that in connection with his Senate confirmation he revealed that he would get continuing payouts of between $2.5 and $3.1 million per year from 2011 to 2024 (after he was on the bench!) and that his total payout from the settlement was “perhaps as much as” $78 million. McConnell has also tussled with the Trump administration in previous litigations.

The Council of Churches brought its case in late October, as the government shut-down continued and it looked like the food stamp program would run out of money in early November; and as the days wore on, it looked like the money would run out on November 7. According to the government’s emergency motion to the Supreme Court:

[A]fter 5 p.m. last night [November 6], [Judge McConnell] ordered the Department of Agriculture (USDA) to cover the SNAP shortfall by transferring billions of dollars that were appropriated for different, critical food-security programs—such as the National School Lunch Program—within a single business day (i.e., by tonight).

The Justice Department managed to get itself to the First Circuit (where no stay was immediately issued) and then to the Supreme Court by 9 PM on November 7. Here is another brief excerpt from the Justice Department’s application to the Supreme Court:

The district court’s ruling is untenable at every turn. The court demanded that USDA find some, any, way to fund SNAP, treating the program essentially as a mandatory entitlement. But the SNAP statute is explicit that SNAP benefits are subject to available appropriations, and it states plainly that SNAP payments shall not exceed the funds appropriated for the program. . . . As USDA explained, pulling billions of dollars from the Child Nutrition Programs would jeopardize those programs’ ability to fully operate this year—putting at risk critical food-assistance initiatives relied upon by millions of children every day, and raiding a program that Congress did fund to instead extend one that Congress has not funded.

Apparently this one was too much even for Justice Jackson. According to SCOTUS Blog, at 9:17 PM yesterday, Justice Jackson issued an administrative stay, staying Judge McConnell’s order until the First Circuit has time to consider whether it will issue a stay pending appeal. (And if it doesn’t, then presumably the government will immediately be back at the Supreme Court again.)

There still is that pesky “appropriations clause” of the Constitution: “No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law.” We’ll see if that rather clear language can stand up to the emotional arguments being made.

In the United States, we are the country where our iconic national holiday, now approaching, celebrates how brave pioneers were able to come to an uncharted wilderness and figure out how to feed themselves. And yet somehow now we have some 42 million people, about one person in eight, dependent on government handouts and supposedly at risk of starvation if the handouts don’t arrive on time. Really, it is shameful.

P&D and the Week That Was

Truth is the Sublime Convergence of History and Reality

De Omnibus Dubitandum, (Everything is to be questioned!)

This Link will take you to My Commentaries.

By Rich Kozlovich

This week has been interesting to say the least.  What is wrong with the Democrats?   Remember how every leftist in the nation said Ole Joe was fit as a fiddle, and fit to be President for four more years?  Now.... a year later... physically he's not even fit to walk to the ice cream parlor without support, he has a terminal cancer, and in spite of  Karine Jean-Pierre's claims she saw the President daily and he was sharp as a tack, even the Pravda media thinks that's a load of horsepucky, and she and her "wife" are divorced.   It's all just falling apart for Karine.

It now seems likely if he was elected he would've finished out his term, and that may have been the strategy to get an even more radical incompetent stooge in the White House, Kamala Harris.

Now we find everything the vast right wing conspiracy was saying about Hillary's health was true.   It’s been revealed that during the 2016 presidential campaign, Hillary was on "strong tranquilizers for psycho-emotional problems and was suffering from ischemic heart disease."

Psycho-emotional problems?  What's that mean?

Psycho-emotional problems are mental health conditions that affect a person's mood, thinking, and behavior, and include disorders like depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. These conditions can manifest with emotional symptoms such as persistent sadness, irritability, or feelings of emptiness, and psychological symptoms like unusual thoughts, poor concentration, and distorted perceptions of reality. Factors like genetics, childhood trauma, chronic stress, and social issues can contribute to their development.

Well, that pretty much describes Hillary's personality and behavior.  She's as nutty as fruitcake.  Being married to her must have been a nightmare.  If Bill wasn't so vile you could almost feel sorry for him.

Nancy Pelosi is finally going to rid the Congress of her stench and retire.  I'm seeing all sorts of clabber about what a great Speaker of the House she was, but the reality of Nancy tells a different tale, here's how Nancy got filthy rich in Congress.   Truthfully, she's as nutty as Hillary, and just as corrupt.  Nancy Pelosi made $130M in stock profits during Congress career — a return of 16,930%.

Now, the next Mayor of St. Paul, Minnesota claimed she's an illegal immigrant.  After the backlash over that she walked that back saying she was born here and her parents were here illegally.   How much better is that?  DC Mayor Muriel Bowser is under investigation for corruption, and a recently elected Mayor from a small Kansas town is being charged with voter fraud.  He's not an American citizen, he's a citizen of Mexico and has been a registered voter since 1990.

The stench of voter fraud is ubiquitous in America, including the latest election in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, California, with accounts of "mishandled ballots, odd voter registration lists, missing ballots", and more, which Monica Showalter outlines in this piece.

In New Jersey, some interesting facts have emerged. In a state were there's no voter I.D., no "enforcement of ballot harvesting/ mail-ins in the inner cities" and the "Mayor of Newark’s brother was paid 7 FIGURES for “political field operations"  Seven figures for field operations?  What's that mean exactly?  It turns out that either Scotty from the Enterprise beamed down "500,000-plus Democrats", or these Democrats were dormant like cicadas in the 2013, 2017, and 2021 elections?  Are we shocked?
John Brennan is in deep trouble, as subpoenas have been sent over the claim "top Obama and Biden officials engaged in a massive conspiracy to violate Donald Trump's civil rights through the Russia investigations and the probes by special counsel Jack Smith".   But he's not alone, just as these miscreants thought they were home free, a grand jury is also subpoenaing Lisa Page and Peter Strzok over Russiagate.  I have a lot of information of the Arctic Frost scandal I will be addressing next week.  This is a RICO investigation that's going to be all encompassing.  It's clear they didn't just want a Democrat elected President, they needed a Democrat to be elected President, and as this unfolds it's my belief we're going to see the biggest names of the Democrat party being indicted.

China has invaded America in more ways than anyone thought possible, whether it's buying up farm land, or under false pretenses claiming to help Chinese immigrants they've create a secret police force to intimidate them, and this will be a shocker.   China's stealing trade secrets from federally funded research, with the aid of scientists.

The federal judiciary continues to be out of control.  Now a federal judge has ordered the Trump administration of fully fund SNAP for November because "the people have gone without for too long".   I wonder if he thinks that should also apply to criminal illegal aliens who are on Medicaid?

Where in the Constitution does it give the judiciary the power to tell the government how to spend it's money?    That's the responsibility of the Legislative and Executive branches, not the Judiciary.

Senator Everett Dirksen once said
"A billion here, a billion there, and pretty soon you're talking real money", and while it's being said he really didn't say that, he never retracted it in his lifetime.   The fact is he's been categorized as fiscally conservative and socially liberal, which is in fact is clearly cognitive dissonance, and his voting record shows that, and so too does that kind of cognitive dissonance apply to the Congress and the administration today.

I will have more in the national debt on Monday.

Another federal judge says they can't use tear gas as an anti-riot tool in Chicago, and another judge permanently blocks Trump from using the National Guard in Portland. Where's their legislative authority for such rule making.  Jurisdiction for the federal judiciary is determined by Congress, not the opinions of federal jurists.  It's called the rule of law.

The endless Democrat lies about ICE’s actions - One of the most illuminating things you can do is check out the official DHS account on X, which shreds false reporting about its detainment actions.

The shutdown Democrats have an ally, and this is really gonna shock you as a study confirms the media is playing defense for the Democrats.....Wow, I'm shocked, shocked I tell you.

Muslims are claiming Sharia law must now be implemented in NYC as huge crowds of Muslims gather to claim NYC for Islam, and as the police in NYC are leaving in droves, that’s exactly what will happen with Muslim thugs taking over whole areas of the city, just like Paris, London, and other European cities.

Their moral foundation on the left is the same as Islam’s. Hate, envy, greed, lust and violence, ergo, they have no bottom to their depth of degradation. They will do whatever it takes to get power to dominate and control everyone’s life. That’s the history of leftism since the French revolution, and nothing has changed. The curtain is rising, the actors are in place, the script is written, and the consequences will be disastrous, and as predictable as night follows day.

Well, schadenfreude!  "The people have spoken and now must be punished" - Former NYC Mayor Ed Koch.

In this week's edition I have four offerings of my own, and twelve by others, and the weather stinks, it's cold and wet, so stay in and take some time to cover the articles.

Best wishes,
