(CNSNews.com) - "Yes, I want a strong national defense," Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) tweeted early Friday morning, ahead of the Senate vote on a deficit- and debt-stoking budget bill.
"I believe it's actually the most important thing the federal government does. But you have to ask yourself whether a $20 trillion debt makes us a stronger country or a weaker country."
Denied the opportunity to amend the budget bill in a way that would keep the defense and non-defense spending caps in place, Paul delayed the Senate vote until 2 a.m. Friday -- forcing the federal government to technically shut down at midnight, when most Americans were sleeping........To Read More....
