At least 95 Hollywood celebrities who attacked Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh have reversed course and support Joe Biden’s bid for president, according to a report by Newsbusters.
When Kavanaugh was being confirmed to the Supreme Court, at the height of the “#MeToo” movement, nearly 100 celebrities joined in on the left-wing attacks against him, and threw their support behind the false allegations of sexual assault made against him by California professor Christine Blasey Ford. By contrast, many of those same celebrities now support Biden and do not believe the woman who has credibly accused him of sexual assault, former Senate staffer Tara Reade.
Among the most prominent Hollywood figures are pop singer Lady Gaga, talk show hosts Ellen Degeneres and Jimmy Kimmel, actresses Jamie Lee Curtis and Patricia Arquette, model Emily Ratajkowski, and alleged comedian Amy Schumer. The organization Time’s Up, which provides legal counsel to women who claim to have been sexually assaulted by famous men, recently refused to provide any legal advice to Reade, since they allegedly did not find her claim to be credible.
The hypocrisy of many in Hollywood was called out by one prominent #MeToo advocate, former actress Rose McGowan.
McGowan, stating that she believed Reade’s accusations, zeroed in on
her former co-star and another major leader of the movement, Alyssa
Milano, who was outspoken in her opposition to Kavanaugh but has actively defended Joe Biden.Further
evidence has emerged that appears to confirm Reade’s story, including a 1996 court document
that explicitly named Joe Biden as part of the sexual harassment she
experienced whilst working in his Senate office. Biden has repeatedly
denied the allegations, but has nonetheless been facing more pressure
from his left, with calls to step down if the allegation is true..........

Unbearable Truths About Our Current Political Moment
What happens to a people when it can’t handle the truth?

Sometimes the truth is like mythical kryptonite. It radiates power and yet promises great destruction. And so reality is to be left alone, encased in lead, and kept at bay.
Take the Chinese genesis of the COVID-19 epidemic. We started in February with the usual Chinese deceptions about their role in the birth, transmission, and worldwide spread of the virus.
No one, apparently except Mike Bloomberg and Bill Gates, was surprised by the accustomed politically correct prevarications of the Chinese-purchased World Health Organization, whose transparent lies were passed off as truth—and led to tens of thousands of deaths...............Were the Chinese embarrassed that they had accused Washington of being racist for belatedly doing exactly what they had done earlier? Of course not. In their eyes, weak decadent Westerners welcome such help in aiding their own self-abnegation and debasement...................
So that was an unbearable truth. But what to do? Cancel U.S. debt held by China? That is likely a terrible idea that would undermine the world’s entire financial system. Cut off all relations? Embargos, sanctions, social distancing on a transnational scale? Expel all Chinese students? Bring home every American business in China? Seems unlikely.................The result is that everyone from Michael Bloomberg and Bill Gates to the CNN/MSNBC crowd know the truth that China despises the United States, feels that America is a spent and increasingly toxic society, and is ever more emboldened to humiliate its rival...................
Consider also Joe Biden. Most Democrats have long known that Biden was a blowhard, a plagiarist, and a serial fabricator. Take Bernie Sanders out of the race, and Biden would have offered little utility, and his candidacy likely would have sputtered to an end............The point instead is that Joe Biden’s accuser should be believed—but according to Joe Biden’s prior own standards, statements and sermonizing. Tara Reade, playing a stronger hand than Christine Blasey Ford, has lodged a sexual assault charge against a far more likely suspect offender than Brett Kavanaugh. Biden, in most other circumstances, would be cheering her on to pursue her charges and pursue her truth were it not against himself.
The Democrats know all this, but the truth too is unbearable........the truth is again intolerable..............So watch as Tara Reade disappears into a media decompression chamber, designed to let her vent to mute walls, and thus be contained until she is recalibrated, exhausted and inert and the danger passes............
There is another unendurable truth: Joe Biden himself is not cognitively able to run a presidential campaign.............His planned series of fireside snarky critiques of the president’s handling of the virus imploded when he could speak neither with or without notes, nor with or without the teleprompter, nor with or without friendly media prompts from his progressive interlocutors, nor with or without his wife’s encouragement at his side.............On any given day, at any given moment Biden can say something not just controversial in the manner of Donald Trump, but something that simply cannot be deciphered or translated into any known language.
So, what does one do with kryptonitic truth? Nothing................The truth is simply too foreboding even to contemplate.
Add up Michael Horowitz’s inspector general’s report. Review the wreckage of the Mueller investigation. Collate the evidence that Christopher Steele was an utter fraud and dupe. Remember that Hillary Clinton destroyed her hard drives and communication devices, that the FBI liquidated hundreds of text messages of Lisa Page and Peter Strzok, and that Christopher Steele destroyed all his emails and data about “Russian sources.”...............To the unendurable truth that a sitting president unleashed his intelligence agencies to warp an election, feigned ignorance of his central role, and yet finally was so furious about the winner that he sought to sabotage his successor’s transition and, by association, his presidency.
How could the media, Silicon Valley, Wall Street, the bureaucratic state, academia, and entertainment ever process that reality: that a deity was likely the most corrupt president in a generation?.....To Read More......

Linda Hirshman's Pretend Virtue

Have you ever met someone who expressed an undying love for humanity but didn’t get along with his neighbors? Or someone who makes his strong support for blacks known but who hasn’t talked to a black person in years? Or someone grieved over the plight of undocumented residents but whose only interaction with an actual immigrant is underpaying his gardener or maid?
These are all examples of pretend virtue found among those on the political left in this country. They hold the “correct” and “proper” policy positions about an issue, whether welfare, race, or immigration, but don’t care one bit about the actual people their policies are supposed to help but, as they work themselves out across the country, are more likely to hurt or even crush. Of course, while liberals are happy to trumpet their virtue, they are also vigilant in hiding their pretending.
Until Wednesday, when Linda Hirshman wrote an oped in the NYT titled, “I Believe Tara Reade. I’m Voting for Joe Biden Anyway.” In this article, she makes two points. First, that Tara Reade was assaulted by Joe Biden; second, that we should sacrifice her (and others like her) on the altar of the Women’s Movement.
A (liberal) woman’s virtue is supporting public policy positions favored by (liberal) women, it’s not in standing with, and fighting for, the actual women abused at the hands of your political allies. Virtue shines when you care for the policy, not for the person..........To Read More....
My Take - This level of leftist hypocrisy shouldn't surprise us at all. Why? Because the left has no solid moral foundation. They will happily abandon any position they've ardently supported in the past if it no longer meets today's popular narrative. There's only one moral foundation the left embraces with unending passion and will always cling to.
Do whatever it takes to get and hold power, and the suffering that may be accrued while doing so is meaningless to them. No group has murdered more people in the twentieth century than did lefetist monsters. Mao, Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, and the left's favorite mass murderer - Fidel Castro.

Thought For the Day
Many Democratic politicians and left-leaning journalists are today twisting themselves into multi-dimensional pretzels, trying to explain why they so uncritically accepted Blasey Ford’s weak, inconsistent, contradictory, and uncorroborated story, but refuse to extend the same courtesy to Reade.
One concocted narrative is that Blasey Ford’s allegations are somehow more credible than Reade’s.
They are not.
If the self-professed women’s advocates were less hypocritical, they would give the same treatment to Creepy Joe Biden that they gleefully inflicted on Brett Kavanaugh. But the ice is starting to crack—whether he wants to or not, Joe Biden will be unable to resist an investigation of some sort for much longer. My Take - For years I kept seeing leftists self-righteously declare they were so much smarter than conservatives. Well, maybe it's true. To do the mental gymnastics they must go through to make what the say and do seem right must take amazing intellect.
Then again, there may be there's a second explanation.
Maybe it isn't intelligence. Maybe they suffer from an extreme case of weird compounded by a massive infection of hubris. As a result that makes them believe the unbelievable so effectively they are incapable of recognizing their lack of values and consistent thought.
I'll go with number two.
