Education in America is a Dark Hole of Ignorance and Corruption

By Rich Kozlovich

Equal justice under the law is a constitutional principle.  No one, whether they're elected officials, citizens, or institutions, no matter how important or powerful, should be above the law.  Yet what we're seeing is the ruling class doing everything possible to cover up its corruption and criminal behavior, even using the the Department of Justice to target constitutional conservatives because they threaten their continued criminal behavior and their radical agenda to destroy America.

The FBI's targeting parents, calling them domestic terrorists, (more here and here) for speaking out about the indoctrination of their children on the gay agenda among other outrages.

  • Speaking truth to school boards March 13, 2024 by Pete Colan An 11-year-old girl speaks to the school board after being forced to share a locker room with a boy.

One thing seems clear, entirely too many Americans are ignorant of the concept of equal justice; ignorant about the rule of law; ignorant regarding the balance in government created by the Constitution!  Why?   The biggest reason for that is America's children are deliberately being ill-educated, misled, and philosophically corrupted by our institutions of education, turning out illiterate undisciplined thugs, and the violence being perpetrated by these thugs is cultural.

Note to Black Lives Matter: Literacy Made Civilization -Reading is white supremacy now. Good luck getting ahead.

The lost generation(s)- Hitler desired to create young people who were consumed with violence and mindlessness. Are we seeing a similar trend today?

Nikole Hannah-Jones beclowns herself on Meet the Press -  The fact that Nikole Hannah-Jones has been honored with a MacArthur Foundation "genius grant" and a Pulitzer Prize, and has had the New York Times backing her error-riddled and fundamentally mistaken 1619 Project as a curriculum throughout the United States, tells us that we live in an intellectually degenerate moment in history.  That she has been granted an endowed chair (despite no doctorate) and is heading a new center with $20 million in funding at Howard University bespeaks a collapse of standards.

Public education is a scam and a racket, and the teacher's unions, which are controlled by corrupt leftists, are undermining the traditional values that created Almeria.  They have turned our schools into a national disaster. Public education in America is a failure, and yes, it really "is" the teacher's fault

  1.  Education in America Has Become a Snare and a Racket: Part I
  2.  Education in America Has Become a Snare and a Racket: Part II

Restoring excellence in public education, starting at the lowest levels is fundamental.  And  doing so in higher education has become critical.  In combination, that's Job One in America, and that needs to be addressed in five ways, for a start.

  1. Eliminate the Department of Education, after 45 years of failure, wasting billions of dollars that should be a no-brainer.
  2. End all federal funding to education at all levels.
  3. Create a voucher system.
  4. The nation's Boards of Education seem to forget, the work for the parents, and have gotten totally out of control in so many areas.  Form a national group to act as watchdogs, and sue any board of education that fails to bring excellence to our schools.
  5. Eliminate public employee unions, and fire all the teachers, they can't be fixed.
  6. Make all universities for profit institutions, end all student loan programs, which is turning into a national disaster.  Tax and regulate them just like any other business.   It's long past time we put this idea out of our heads they're experts because they're educated.  If that was true, then why do we see so much exposure of plagiarism by these people
North Carolina drops STEM departments, keeps politically correct ones -  February 25, 2024 By Arnold Cusmariu -The University of North Carolina system oversees 16 state universities. Campus locations include Chapel Hill, Wilmington, Charlotte, Asheville, and Greensboro.  UNC-Chapel Hill, originally called the University of North Carolina, was founded in 1789 and is one of the oldest public universities in the United States. According to Wikipedia statistics, some 245,000 students attended UNC system universities in 2021......

Here's an article I published in 2014, Before There Was Common Core!, and in this article I posted a picture of the eighth grade test for Bullitt County, Kentucky.....in 1912.

This is a test I would like to see all of America's teachers, their union leaders, and the professors in our universities take.  And any who fail would be fired.  Go here for a list of answers.

You might also wish to review this 8th grade test from Salina Kansas....... 1895, and I'm willing to bet 99% of America would fail it, including me, but these two tests are a clear demonstration of how far our system of education nationwide has plunged down into a dark hole of ignorance.  But it's fixable.

John Droz, Jr. graciously allows me to publish his work.  John has been writing about, and testifying about, what's wrong with American education for many years.  In the two articles below John has done an excellent job of outlining what the fixes are, and they must be put in place, and I emphasized the word "must".

  1. ) Saving American Children - Part 1
  2. ) Saving American Children - Part 2

Make sure to read his solutions and observations.  They're deep, wide ranging, and far seeing.

Blast From the Past: Brain Rot in American Education

By Rich Kozlovich

(Editor's Note: 0riginally I published this on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, but the verbiage is absolutely great, direct, accurate, and pieces like this need airing over again, with updated thoughts from me. RK

I originally picked this up from Jon Ray's site, Dissecting Leftism.  I should state that I don't agree entirely with some of her views in the pieces below, and I find her articles to be bit difficult to read because she's doesn't transition smoothly from point to point, and she's a bit of a snot but....... "she is interesting!"

She outlines how things used to be and need to be again, which I agree. She also has solutions many will find appealing, but she fails to explain why those things happened in the "good old days" and why those solutions won't be accepted now.

The fundamental barrier to a return to stability in American culture, is a return to those values that made American culture great. The common acceptance of Judaic/Christian values and principles! And that will never happen when what passes for Christian religion is being sold on TV by hucksters, and leftists disguising themselves as Christian clergy undermining every Biblical moral concept, including abortion.

These heretics are a fifth column who are far worse than outright leftists because they're perpetrating heresy.  Outright leftists are the barbarians at the gate, and are known.  The heretics in government and religion are in reality traitors who walk among us disguised as one of us.   They portray themselves as shepherds, but are "ravenous wolves" destroying the flock.

Jon Ray says this about her:

Ilana Mercer is an expert at writing scarifying prose. She is supreme at ripping people to pieces verbally.  I think that's really understating what she does. Her "scarifying prose" isn't like being slashed with a rapier - it's more like being hit with a Scottish Highlander's two handed claymore.

Here are her thoughts on American intervention in Libya:

"A product of the romantic minds of women—Samantha Power, Hillary Clinton, Susan Rice—who fantasize about an Arab awakening... estrogen-driven paternalism on steroids."

I particularly liked this comment, on social meddling in the Middle East.  Over and over again I've stated the Middle East nations cannot be fixed as they are nothing more that fractionalized Medieval tribal societies with modern weaponry, communications, and transportation with the dominant tribe abusing everyone who isn't part of their tribe, or their brand of Islam.  She says:

Democracy is especially dangerous in ethnically and racially divided societies, where majorities and minorities are rigidly predetermined and politically permanent.

As for her thoughts on General Petraeus’ sex scandal, she defines the U.S. military as:

.......manacled by doctrinaire mediocrity, multiculturalism, feminism, affirmative action… and every postmodern pox imaginable. And this is only the froth on the top.

Ya gotta admit. She has a way with words! Please enjoy her thoughts on the finished product being turned out by American education.  I think you will agree her way with words is really inspiring.

John Jay goes on to note:

The author of such titles is well aware of how stupid, on average, American millennials are. She has been for some time. The 2010 piece aforementioned warned that “the electronic toys our dim, attention-deficient darlings depend on to sustain brain waves are made, for the most, by older people,” and that “the hi-tech endeavor consist in older Americans and Asians uniting to supply young, twittering twits with the playthings that keep their brainwaves from flatlining." According to my sources in the high-tech industry, for every useless, self-aggrandizing Gen Yer, a respectful, bright, industrious (East) Asian, with a wicked work ethic, waits in the wings. The millennial generation will be another nail in the coffin of the flailing American productivity…....."Rejoice! America is becoming an egalitarian Idiocracy"........ Millennials have been pre-programmed and praised for stupidity. They’ve acquired an education yet they remain uneducated.......It would appear that when the neocortex is underused, the reptilian brain takes over.........

This all appeared in 2015, nine years ago, and we clearly see there have been a lot of people who recognized the imbecility of American education for years.  So what's been done to fix it?  Nothing!

In point of fact it's worse than ever, filled with leftist propaganda. corrupt teachers, corrupt leftist school boards, corrupt teacher's unions, and a Department of Education that's destroying the young and impressionable minds under their care.

American Education is a Failure, and It Is The Teacher's Fault

By Rich Kozlovich

On May 3, 2023 Frederick M. Hess published this piece, America’s Students Flunk Civics and U.S. History on Nation’s Report Card, stating:

The “Nation’s Report Card” is out with new results on what our eighth-graders know about U.S. history and civics, and the results are grim. The National Assessment of Educational Progress today reported that this is the first time civics results declined significantly on the quarter-century-old exam. In history, the results continued a nearly decade-long decline.

The U.S. history test covers key figures, dates, and events, as well as student familiarity with key historical ideas and movements. The civics test gauges students’ knowledge, their ability to take or defend positions on political issues, and their understanding of democratic participation. The tests were administered in spring 2022, with a nationally representative sample of 8,000 eighth-graders who took the history test and 7,800 the civics exam.

The upshot: Just 13 percent of students were deemed “proficient” in U.S. history and just 22 percent in civics. After peaking in the early 2010s, scores are now back to where they were when the tests were first administered in the 1990s..

When pointed out over and over again:

“Our schools,” reports a knowledgeable observer, “are producing ignoramuses.” The average graduate, he explains, “does not know how to read critically, write expressively, or debate intelligently and politely.” Meantime, the unions are opposing huge, proposed increases in beginner-teacher salaries because, instead, they want higher pay for teachers with seniority, regardless of individual performance"

American students are terrible at just about everything the schools are supposed to be teaching them, and the teachers, who always claim if they had more money that would fix it, keep claiming this isn't their fault.   So, if more money is the fix, then can we then deduce from that the teachers are either incapable, or deliberately, failing to do what they're being paid to do?  The fact is we've been giving them more and more money for decades, and things not only didn't get better, they've gotten worse.

Okay, so, in spite of all that, I can live with their excuses if they will just tell us whose fault it really is then.   The parents?  We're being told by the leftist in the socialist indoctrination system in America's schools that parents need to mind their own business.

The system?  Okay, who created the system?  It appears to me it was the teachers, their unions and the leftist politicians elected to the school boards, all in lock step with the anti-American, anti-Constitution Democrat bureaucrats at Department of Education, created this mess.

In some systems they lied about the scores to hide just how miserable their students are doing, and to cover up their incompetence.   In February it was reported not a single student can do math at grade level in 53 Illinois schools. For reading, it’s 30 schools. And Chicago's teacher's union is demanding big increases in wages and benefits, and are directly responsible for the election of the new mayor, an out and out socialist, who will negotiate the contract with them.

They are failing everything, and it turns out the Governor of Illinois is outraged!  Outraged I tell you!    Yes, he's going to punish schools that keep porn away from kids.

Our culture?  That's clearly a major component of the failure in America's schools.  However, the culture that created a great system of public education has been ripped apart by the leftists in America, and it starts at Kindergarten and continues right up to and through all the levels of academia, and the teachers played a major role in that destruction, and the excuse, "it's the unions", doesn't fly.  They chose those insidious and corrupt organizations.  Now the culture is cancerous

These kids are failing at reading, spelling, writing, arithmetic, history, geography, and each and every one of the fundamentals needed to see the world as it is, think clearly and logically, make good decisions and have a successful life.  Instead they're promoting racial lies that's inspiring violence right in the schools, punishing the brightest students with equity unfair and most likely unconstitutional diversity standards, gender bending concepts with unpleasant consequences, socialist values, and environmental nonsense, and that's the pattern all over the western world.

About 15 years ago I read an article saying that students in England were asked who Winston Churchill was, and less than half knew, but over 90% believed Global Warming was going to destroy the world.

It's been said, "If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging".  Apparently the Department of Education didn't get that memo, or the one that said, "Never miss a good chance to shut up", since they just won't shut up and they just keep digging.  Biden Ed Sec says low civics scores show students need Critical Race Theory.

These students are not being challenged to succeed, they're being programed to destroy society with false narratives on race, the environment, our culture, the economy, and morality. Schools aren't turning out sharp thinking, positively motivated, energetic young people with skills that make them responsible to themselves, to their families, or to society. They're turning out lazy, weak minded, irresponsible anchors on society.  And they want more money to do it.

Now, how can anyone find fault with that? Actually, I think a lot of people.  Here's what we've lost, Judge Paula Schlichter RIP, the end of an era.

American Education, The Continuing Saga

The nation’s 10 largest counties have lost more than 1 million residents since 2019. The biggest losers have been the counties that are home to New York and San Francisco and Chicago’s Cook County. Even Los Angeles County, the nation’s most populous county, with just under 10 million people, is now contracting.

Welcome to the real-world impact of progressivism. Instead of worker paradises, the Left has transitioned our once-shining cities into slums, murder zones, homeless encampments and boarded-up stores. They have become cults of economic and political quackery -- and tragically, few Democrats have the courage to speak out. They are worried about being called racists when the reality is that the victims -- of terrible public schools, high murder rates and an anti-business creed -- are the minorities they say they care so much about.

The three poisons of America’s leftist cities are 1) high taxes, 2) schools that don’t educate and 3) crime running rampant.

Yes, and the good news is that the money won't be there. ..............

Second City Shamble, By The teacher union-controlled school system in Chicago is an abject failure. The numbers are jaw-dropping. In 30 Chicago public schools, not a single student can read at grade level. In total, just 20 percent of 3rd through 8th graders in the Windy City are proficient in reading and only 15 percent are proficient in math. As such, it’s easy to see why students are bailing en masse. In fact, more than one-third of Chicago’s 473 traditional public schools are currently running at half-full or worse, according to data released in December. Douglass High School, which bills itself as “The Jewel Of The Westside,” has a capacity for 888 students, but just 34 are enrolled, and not one of them is proficient in reading. In the past 10 years, the city’s total public school enrollment has gone from over 400,000 to 322,000 and the bleeding shows no sign of abating. The spending hawks can’t claim it’s due to a lack of funding. When all local, state and federal dollars are added up, Chicago’s per student outlay is now $29,207...............

North Carolina parents should be wary of ‘School Choice’ bill, April 12, 2023 By Robert Bortins- Politicians in Raleigh want to transform our freedoms with House Bill 420, giving state bureaucrats more control over North Carolinians’ educational options, consequently driving up prices, reducing quality and innovation, and normalizing state welfare checks for the middle class and wealthy -- all in the name of “school choice.” But the fact is, North Carolina already has robust educational choices, and families are enthusiastically enjoying those opportunities. According to a 2022 report from BESTNC.com, approximately 16 percent of North Carolina families homeschool or attend private school. Families already have school choice, and this freedom allows for extraordinary educational innovation and entrepreneurship at a net gain to taxpayers. ...............

Randi Is Wrong Again, By  The president of the American Federation of Teachers makes a bunch of ridiculous and easily refutable claims.I have got to give Randi Weingarten a lot of credit. Every time I write about the president of the American Federation of Teachers and her relentless blather, I think that she cannot possibly sink any lower; yet she always manages to dig herself a deeper hole. Earlier this month, Weingarten penned “Kids Do Better In Schools With Teachers Unions,” an opinion piece for the Daily Beast, in which she claims to make “a factual case” for all the good that teachers’ unions do for children.  For starters, citing work by some left-wing think tankers, she asserts that teachers unions are associated with higher student achievement, especially for Hispanic and black children. Wrong! The teachers union’s essence is its collective bargaining agreement (CBA), which, as policy experts Rick Hess and Martin West write, is a vestige of the industrial economic model that prevailed in the 1950s when “assembly-line workers and low-level managers were valued less for their knowledge or technical skills than for their longevity and willingness to serve loyally as a cog in a top-down enterprise.” While CBAs may be the cornerstone of the unions’ raison d’être, these agreements have been a disaster for students.  “The Long-run Effects of Teacher Collective Bargaining,”...........

Are Public Employee Unions Unconstitutional? By “All Government employees should realize that the process of collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted into the public service. It has its distinct and insurmountable limitations when applied to public personnel management.” The above caveat about government unions—usually known by the kinder and gentler “public-employee unions” (PEUs)—was not issued by Ron DeSantis or Donald Trump. The statement was made by progressive icon Franklin Delano Roosevelt.   But FDR wasn’t the only Democrat opposed to government unionization. George Meany, president of the AFL-CIO for 24 years, once said, “It is impossible to bargain collectively with the government.” Both men understood that the very nature of government makes it wrong for its leaders to enter into negotiations with any union. When government unions negotiate, they often sit across the table from people they helped put in office with generous campaign contributions. And when these unions go on strike, they walk out on the taxpayer............

X-Rated Ed By Educator-related sexual abuse of children is escalating.  Pedophilia is proliferating in the nation’s public schools. Going back to 2004, a report prepared for the U.S. Department of Education revealed that nearly 9.6 percent of students are victims of sexual abuse by school personnel, and these are just the reported cases. Stop Educator Sexual Abuse Misconduct & Exploitation (SESAME), an organization that works to stop childhood sexual abuse by teachers and other school employees, disclosed that in 2015, about 3.5 million 8th-11th grade students, or nearly 7 percent of those surveyed divulged that they had experienced “physical sexual contact from an adult”—most often a teacher or coach. The type of physical contact ranged from “unwanted touching of their body, all the way up to sexual intercourse.” Even worse, when other types of sexual misconduct are taken into consideration, such as being shown pornography or being subjected to sexually explicit language or exhibitionism the number increases to about 4.5 million children (10 percent). SESAME also explains that one child sex offender can have as many as 73 victims in a lifetime..........
