Smackdown: Richard Grenell puts rabid leftist Ted Lieu in his place over new Russia hoax canard

It's happening again. The left is out of arguments against President Trump so now it's recycling old ones.  In an anonymously sourced article, the New York Times reports that President Trump and his lieutenants knew all about a Russian bounty placed on the heads of American soldiers in Afghanistan.

This, while Trump knew all about it and still was inviting Russia's President Vladimir Putin to a G-7 and otherwise making nice with him. The idea was to make Trump appear indifferent to American lives on the front lines in the name of cozying up to Putin.

American intelligence officials have concluded that a Russian military intelligence unit secretly offered bounties to Taliban-linked militants for killing coalition forces in Afghanistan — including targeting American troops — amid the peace talks to end the long-running war there, according to officials briefed on the matter.

Just one problem: It wasn't true. 

And former acting Director of National Intelligence, Richard Grenell, has come out swinging, taking on far-left Rep. Ted Lieu, who bought into it hook, line and sinker...........Grenell, who's out of public office now but served as Trump's acting National Intelligence Director, would be in a position to know. His willingness to open the doors to transparency on the deep state's doings, enhances his credibility further.......the fact that he owes Trump nothing and can do what he likes makes his smackdown most credible of all...........

The left is just trying to paint the Russia target on Trump again,............. Call it what it is: Pathetic.

If you’d told me a couple of decades ago that leading conservative commentators would one day be celebrating an openly gay man as an American hero, I’d never have believed it. But that’s exactly what’s happening now. The man in question, of course, is Richard Grenell, currently serving both as the U.S. Ambassador to Germany and as the Acting Director of National Intelligence, and hence a member of the Cabinet.

It was under intense pressure from Grenell that the House Intelligence Committee, on May 7, released the transcripts of 53 interviews conducted privately in connection with the probe into President Trump’s alleged Russian ties. In those interviews, former members of the Obama Administration – several of whom had publicly insisted, on cable news shows and elsewhere, that there was firm evidence of collusion between Trump and the Kremlin – swore under oath that they were unaware of any such evidence..........To Read More....

My Take - So, let me see if I understand this.  The meme from the left is that Trump is a homophobe. A President who appointed an openly gay man as the ambassador to Germany and has done an extraordinary job putting the Germans in their place, sending a message to the rest of the EU letting them know who's the big kid on the block, and made him the acting Director of National Intelligence at the same time, is a homophobe? 

Really? 

It must really be true the left is smarter than the right, because the mental gymnastics they have to do to make their insane thoughts seem sane must require an enormous level of brilliance.  Or maybe they're just insane? 

Well, maybe after reading this piece in full, you, like me, will go for option two. 

Richard Grenell, a True Hero of Our Times

You may have noticed, as a mere citizen of this country, there are many things you are not supposed to know.............When Congress wishes to interview key players on a matter of significance, they first, and often only, do it in camera so you infants aren’t allowed to hear the truth as it emerges under oath.  The result? In public, you are lied to, repeatedly, until you are constrained to believe the lie that is being echoed endlessly by the media.

Most of us, therefore, regard our nation’s capital as the epicenter of obfuscation and prevarication, a place where you can’t find an honest man, ...............America in 2020.......... has found its Diogenes just in the nick of time.

His name is Richard Grenell, formerly U.S. ambassador to Germany and, before that, spokesperson for various U.N. ambassadors and now acting director of national intelligence.

Grenell, that ingrate, decided that we weren’t so stupid after all and were able to determine the truth for ourselves if given access to the facts. So he marched testimony, heretofore hidden, due to the restrictions of one Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), regarding the Trump–Russia probe over to another potential Diogenes (William Barr—two for the price of one), and the rest is emerging history.
What are we discovering so far? That the aforementioned Mr. Schiff is a serial liar verging on the pathological is something of a yawner at this point.

Much more important—wedged between a slew of “leaders” who apparently said one thing in public and something entirely different under oath—is the following, well explained by Zachary Stieber on this outlet:

“Outgoing President Barack Obama revealed in early 2017 that he knew details from phone calls incoming Trump administration National Security Adviser Michael Flynn made, surprising one of the Department of Justice’s top officials, according to newly released documents.”...............The president must have known it was time for a Diogenes, an honest man to open the books, be transparent, and reveal the truth of what’s been going on in the last few years. If confirmed as Director of National Intelligence, Texas Republican John Ratcliffe said this week, he would not let any “outside influence,” impact or alter intelligence. His loyalty would be “to the Constitution and rule of law” and Ratcliffe would “speak the truth to power.” As Ratcliffe knows, the intelligence community has been protecting the powerful from the truth, but change is in the wind.

On May 4, acting DNI Richard Grenell informed Congress that some 53 transcripts of interviews were declassified, redacted and ready for release. These include interviews with former DNI James Clapper, Loretta Lynch, Samantha Power, Andrew McCabe, Susan Rice, Ben Rhodes, and John Podesta.
