Mainstream media savaged Nadler's impeachment hearing questioning of Corey Lewandowski (with an assist from Nancy Pelosi)

The mainstream media chorus turned on their Democrat allies over the questioning of Corey Lewandowski by Chairman Nadler's House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday.  The breadth and depth of the rare media attack on Democrats needs explanation.  We are well accustomed to the mainstream media following nearly identical talking points, so the question becomes, who sent the signal that beating up the impeachment hearings was the order of the day?

The most obvious candidate is Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the highest-ranking elected Democrat, who understands that an impeachment circus could lose many of the seats Democrats turned over in 2018 and cost the Democrats their House majority and her speakership.

Nadler To Lewandowski: Don't Tempt Me. We'll Hold You In Contempt Of Congress

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) threatened to hold former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski in contempt of Congress because of his "refusal to answer questions" relating to the Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report.

"Mr. Lewandowski, your behavior in this hearing room has been completely unacceptable. It is part of a pattern of a White House desperate for the American people not to hear the truth," Nadler said.  “I’ve been asked several times today whether the Committee will hold you in contempt. My Take - Here's what I wish Lewandowski, or someone, would say to Nadler.  "Go ahead and find me in contempt.  That at least is a fact!  I, like most of the people of this nation do hold you in contempt.  You can hardly walk around Washington without tripping over that contemp.  You don't even need to look for it."  The Obama administration demonstrated just how valueless these contempt citations are.  It still takes the Justice Deparment to enforce them, and they can choose to not do it. And Obama's Justice Department chose not to  when the Republicans were running these committees.

I mean that’s brutal. But this is how we’re going to win. We can’t take their crap anymore. And frankly, they all deserved to be slapped around a little. No more with losing with dignity. No more accepting defeat. Fight back, frustrate, and waste these Democrats’ time because they’ve sure done a pretty solid job doing that with everyone else’s concerning this farce investigation.
