Beware of “Experts”

By Jim Beers

Editor's Note:  I originally published this on September 14, 2015, and given what's going on by firing all these administrative state "experts", and the recent condemnation of science journals, I thought it worthwhile to republish this. RK

According to medical Dr. Carey Franklin:

“I don’t believe most of the studies published in the medical journals anymore....A review of more than 2,000 articles retracted by major journals revealed that more than two-thirds were retracted because of some type of fraud....Medical journal editors openly acknowledge that they cannot find article reviewers without any financial ties to private companies.....Medical researchers aim for articles that will attract the mainstream press......There is no quick fix for the erosion of trust in medical studies.....If the current trend continues, medical studies will become the ‘reality television’ of science – difficult for outside observers to tell what has been manipulated and what hasn’t.”

Dr. Franklin - If you think the medical “experts” are corrupt in the field of medical science where human lives, and cause and effect should make bastardized “science” evident and minimal: take a look at the ocean of “environmental” “scientific” “studies” and “research” burying western civilization about environmental “facts” that are little more than hidden agenda “preferences”. You may feel some consolation knowing that your concerns regarding the current state of medical research are but one area of a generally collapsing field of “scientific” research.

The recent rash of shark attacks that severely injured and maimed children playing in shallow Atlantic surf is but one recent example of this phenomenon of “experts” misleading and bamboozling the public.

The “experts” tell us such attacks are “rare”. Four children attacked along our coast in a month is four too many when the cause is dangerous sharks present where children are enjoying the beach and this is not acknowledged as amenable to shark control or management in such places by “experts”. Targeted shark population and area controls through various means where human use is significant are simply unspoken, marginalized or shouted down as inappropriate by “experts”; just like managing or eliminating wolves/grizzly bears/panthers where they seriously distress and impact human activities are forbidden by “experts” partnered with bureaucrats.

This is somewhat similar to gun control “experts” and bureaucrats discouraging “the public” from buying guns or arming themselves while killers that escaped from a “maximum security” prison roam the rural countryside. Such behavior by government and their associated “experts” defies common sense and endangers human lives.

Shark “experts” tell us that last year only 200 or 300 shark attacks occurred worldwide. As if Madagascar or Indonesia or a thousand such remote places know or report such things, or that someone really knows how Abdul or Freddie “disappeared”. Or even that nearby resorts or towns where an attack occurs suppresses such reports like the town fathers in the movie “Jaws” worried about business.

The shark “experts” (like the wolf/grizzly bear/panther/native ecosystem/etc. “experts”) are nearly all either government bureaucrats whose careers depend on “saving” sharks; professors and researchers who have lifelong attachments to sharks and adult needs for making a living from grants and donations; or non-government organization staffs and members that manipulate the general public by creating faux environmental hobgoblins to bamboozle unaffected and mostly urban dwellers into donating money and voting for the steady increase in central government tyranny that rural Americans are increasingly aware of as I write.

Wolf advocates told us wolves are not mortal dangers to children and the elderly; that there have “never been recorded wolf attacks”; that they don’t spread disease; that they don’t destroy ranches and livestock operations; that they don’t destroy big game herds and the hunting that supports so much State conservation programs; that they don’t kill thousands of dogs; that their numbers are minimal; that they should not be managed or controlled; that local people should have no say or rights where wolves roam: these are all lies disguised as “scientific” emanations from the mouths of “experts”. “Experts” that by the way (like the medical/bear/panther/native ecosystem/ etc. “experts”) neither have nor acknowledge any responsibility or liability for the mayhem and destruction that they create for others.

It is the same for grizzly bear advocates that blame the increasing attacks, destruction and deaths as these animals spread into more and more settled landscapes (like the sharks on bathing beaches or wolves and panthers in the settled landscapes of the Lower 48 States) ON THE VICTIM’S behavior or simple human presence instead of the animal that does not belong there. The bear/wolf/panther “experts” are only distinguishable from shark “experts” in one regard: the shark “experts” disguise their advocacy regarding an omnipresent animal; while the wolf/grizzly bear/panther advocates lie and forcibly impose their dangerous and destructive animals in vast areas that were once purposely and at great expense cleansed of these animals from Europe to The Lower 48 States. These latter “experts” that justify and enable these re-introductions have much more to ultimately answer for despite their current celebrity status.

An “expert” should first and foremost be concerned with human welfare, human rights, Constitutional government and the economy that supports all of us. Instead, today’s “expert” is a no-holds-barred advocate for the critter in these instances I just mentioned as well as many others. They think the critter should be more abundant, never killed, never controlled or bothered in any way. They think WE need to be suppressed, prevented from supporting families or living as free men in order for the sharks to occupy the beach; and the wolf, grizzly bear and panthers to roam everywhere and reach densities our forefathers knew all too well bode disaster for men, families and their communities. Look no further than the absence of recommended lethal controls or even the ability of free men to protect themselves, their families, their communities and their livelihoods from these animals that we once hired these “experts” to tell us how to maintain WHILE WE WENT ABOUT OUR LIVES.

When anyone tells you to listen to the “experts”, remember the years of propaganda about the “native” ecosystem. You know the silliness about “they were here first”, “they belong here”, “the ‘native’ ecosystem is best and ‘belongs’ everywhere it can be established”. These are little more than romantic notions camouflaging a host of hidden agendas. Some brie-nibbler on the North Side of Chicago or some young woman (often the daughter of a big donor) transferring from a Congressman’s staff in Washington to a job at The Nature Conservancy or Defenders of Wildlife might think that doing whatever is necessary to forcibly allow wolves/sharks/grizzly bears/panthers galore is wonderful. However, that is NO DIFFERENT than me as a young man wanting more pheasants and ducks for hunting and being willing to manipulate the terrible force of government to force my notions upon others, no matter their cost in human suffering.

Eliminating or minimizing deadly animals where humans live in settled landscapes (be it Minnesota or Tanzania) is no more wrong or inappropriate than forcing everyone to support more game animals for my hunting desires, despite what “experts” say and think. A settled human-oriented landscape and Constitutional freedoms are what have become increasingly “endangered” not the animals that “experts” believe should be allowed to destroy human lives and the liberties that were once responsible for building the most prosperous nation on earth that not only freed and supported others but was a magnet for 200-plus years for people worldwide that hungered for the safety and freedoms that no other nation offered.

How Bureaucrats, Anarchists and Communists Use Wolves To Establish Tyranny

By Jim Beers 22 August 2015

This meeting was about the inevitable and currently happening spread of federal wolves into California from Oregon (that got them from Idaho that got them from Montana that got them from Yellowstone National Park that got them from Alberta and the Yukon where they were trapped and then transported and released without documentation in Yellowstone by US Fish and Wildlife Service bureaucrats using over $35 Million stolen by USFWS Managers from Excise Taxes on Arms and Ammunition intended only for state wildlife programs After Congress had refused to authorize or fund this wolf debacle.)

Note: NO federal bureaucrats were ever charged or disciplined for this criminal act, indeed the Director at the time is now a top executive of Defenders of Wildlife and her political lieutenant at the time in charge of the stolen funds is currently the Director of USFWS. The stolen funds were never replaced in the state wildlife funding budgets because the state wildlife agency directors and their Washington lobby group refused to request the replacement for fear of angering federal bureaucrats that increasingly fund and direct state wildlife programs. But I digress.

The subject meeting of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife was fairly (read the report) reported as:

"California’s Draft Wolf Management Plan was finished last year. At the California Wolf Stakeholder group’s final meeting (Dec. 2014), much of the discussion focused on how to “limit information sharing” and what sorts of penalties and pressure can be put on ranchers who might share information about wolf locations with their neighbors. The remainder of the meeting was devoted to detailing the acceptable non-lethal “COEXISTENCE” measures ranchers will be allowed to employ as wolves begin eating their stock."

Please read that again, more slowly. Now ask yourself if this meeting is being held in the United States or is this a History Channel Documentary about Russian Bureaucracy Directives during the establishment of the Gulags in the 1920’s or the starvation of millions of Ukrainians to collectivize their farms in the 1930’s?

There are 4 phrases in this news item that would provide any still-living Russian communists (Russian communism was birthed in Anarchy) grounds to sue the California and US federal governments for stealing copyrighted communist bureaucratic procedures and material.

1.“Wolf Stakeholder group’s” are euphemisms like “Peoples Republic”, “Comrades Commission” and “Collective Managers”: that is to say it is a group of government toadies assembled to create the illusion of “public input” and “participation” as a fog for government mandate. In this case however, since there is still the illusion of the USA being a Constitutional Republic to be maintained for a short while, we have not only the gaggle of state and federal bureaucrats and an elected “Agriculture” politician plus the radical groups they answer to (Defenders, Sierra, NRDC, CBD, Wolf “Centers”, etc., etc.): we have those clandestine representatives paid by and employed by those comrades-to-be that will actually be hurt, damaged and even destroyed by their fellow-travelers in this meeting. I speak here of “The Woolgrowers”, “The Elk Hunters”, “The Mule Deer Hunters”, “The Farmers”, “The Cattlemen”, and “The Deer Hunters” whose paid lobbyists are dressed up as “Foundation”, “Association” and “Bureau” Representatives to lend their name and their Organization’s name and “gravitas” to this document.

That means that all you members of these ELK & DEER Foundations and Associations; all you members of these CATTLEMEN & WOOLGROWERS & FARM Bureaus and Associations are paying your organization not only to diminish and ultimately destroy your own livelihoods and communities but also to push this nation further into government tyranny that will burden your children and grandchildren and leave them with the choice faced by Our Founding Fathers that fought and died in the American Revolution against Britain over 220 years ago or of acquiescing to slavery as subjects of tyrants..

2. Consider “much of the discussion focused on how to “limit information sharing” as a topic “discussed” by bureaucrats, an elected official, a gaggle of radicals and a group of Benedict Arnolds “representing” those about to be further diminished and even destroyed. The key word here is “limit”. Just as “information” about purposeful starvation of Ukrainians was “limited” as a “famine”, and German “information” about concentration camps was “limited” as “work camps” so too are these ex-Americans plotting to control and “limit information” about a terrible action that will:

- Endanger, especially children and the elderly, rural residents and rural visitors by exposing them to death and injury from wolf attacks as is common in Russia and Asia and is increasingly common in North America.
- Eliminate big-game hunting (as Minnesota wolves have done to Minnesota Moose Hunting).
- Eliminate domestic livestock husbandry as we know it (as wolves are doing to cattle, sheep, and dogs of all stripes) currently from Washington State to New Mexico as well as all over western Canada, Alaska, Asia, and increasingly in Europe).
- Expose rural Americans to over 30 deadly and debilitating diseases and infections that wolves catch and transmit over the vast areas they roam including but not limited to:

- Rabies (H) (OA)
- Brucellosis (H) (OA)

Hydatid Disease (2):

- Echinococcus granulosis (H) (OA)
- Echinococcus multilocularis (H) (OA)
- Anthrax (H) (OA)
- Encephalitis (H) (OA)
- Great Lakes Fish Tapeworm (H) (OA)
- Smallpox (H) (OA)
- Mad Cow Disease(BSE) (OA) (H)
- Chronic Wasting Disease (OA)

From Ticks (10) Carried by wolves:
- Anemia (H)
- Dermatosis (H)
- Tick paralysis (H)
- Babesiosis (H)
- Anaplasmosis (H)
- Erlichia (H)
- E. Coast Fever (H)
- Relapsing Fever (H)
- Rocky Mtn. Spotted Fever (H)
- Lyme Disease (H)

From Fleas (4) Carried by wolves:

- Plague (H)
- Bubonic Plague (H)
- Pneumonic Plague (H)
- Flea-Borne Typhus (H)
- Distemper (OA)
- Neospora caninum (OA)
- 2 Types of Mange (H) (OA)
- GID (a disease of wild and domestic sheep) (OA)
- Foot-and-Mouth (OA)
- Parvo (OA)

Of the 30 diseases and infections listed, 24 affect humans and many of these are deadly. Whether it is a child ingesting tapeworm eggs from a ranch house floor rug or a jogging soccer Mom encountering wolves as a schoolteacher did recently in Alaska that resulted in a horrible death, the fact that these human health hazards have been given short-shrift by wildlife agencies and their veterinarians is nothing short of scandalous. (James Beers’ Testimony before an Oregon State Legislative Committee 25 May 2010)

“Limit information?” “Who, me?”

3. As they “discuss, “what sorts of penalties and pressure can be put on ranchers who might share information about wolf locations with their neighbors” all Americans of every stripe should rise up and demand the firing of these bureaucrats and the recall of any elected officials involved in such a travesty of American Constitutional government. Radical environmental and animals rights organizations AND the so-called hunter/farmer/ranch organizations should be barred from any future participation in any federal or state work groups or advisory committees of any nature!

Oh, and by the way, those people that hire and support such organizations should be reminded that those that support bureaucrats and politicians subverting such Constitutional guarantees as required in their oath to “uphold the Constitution of the United States”; when the 9th Amendment guarantees “rights” “not denied or disparaged” in the Constitution; and when the 1st Amendment that specifically protects and guarantees our “FREEDOM OF SPEECH” – THEY ONLY PROVE HOW IGNORANCE AND LAZINESS allows freedom and liberty to be replaced by tyranny due to indifference on the part of the citizenry! Why all the way back to The Magna Carta (1215 AD), Item 45 stated “We will appoint as justices, constables, sheriffs, or bailiffs only such as know the law of the realm and mean to observe it well.”

We are regressing into the mists of the terrifying world Thomas Hobbes described in his 1651 AD book Leviathan where “life was nasty, brutish and short” by permitting these evil people to dismantle our liberties and guaranteed rights that have existed nowhere else in the world!

Penalties and pressure”? You mean like, “Comrade Children, you will inform your teachers or the police if your parents or anyone in your family “share information about wolf locations” (???) What about “sharing information” about politicians, or bureaucrats, or the government, or the laws, or (fill-in-the-blank)”? Do they mean, “Penalties” like fines, jail, prison, loss of property, deportation to Gitmo to free a terrorist, or being locked in a room for a year listening to recordings of speeches of politicians like Hillary or Arlen Spector drone on 24/7? Do they mean, “Pressure” like mandatory re-education for all rural residents like sex and race propaganda movies mandated for government employees, or watching demeaning Public Service propaganda advertising clips on TV and the radio that belittle all those expressing any disagreement with government policies?

4. Finally we come to the “piece de resistance”, detailing the acceptable non-lethal “COEXISTENCE” measures ranchers will be allowed to employ as wolves begin eating their stock." Government dumps the wolves on rural Americans and despite all the evidence to the contrary allows NO lethal control for ranchers as “wolves begin eating their stock”. Even the ineffective and childish non-lethal (fladry, electric fences, collars, taste deterrents, noises, prison fencing, pits (like in the Tarzan movies), wolf puppy training, etc., etc., etc.) methods must be examined and government determination made as to what is allowable and what is prohibited to owners “when wolves begin eating their stock!

There is not even provision for protecting dogs, or whatever havoc is wreaked on game animals, or the presence of wolves in rural living spaces, or schoolyards, or at school bus stops, etc.

Also, there is the vaguely-concealed anti-2nd Amendment agenda so rampant in California political and political-correctness hysteria:

1. No one should have a gun.
2. No Concealed or Unconcealed Carry Permits (except for “Leaders, Commissars and other Exceptional and Favored Comrades as Determined by Government”) are necessary or allowed.
3. Cougars should reach and maintain densities where human attacks and human deaths are routine and no hunt or armed protection is needed or allowed.
4. All gun ammunition for any use should be regulated to assure that the least effective bullets and shot, and the most expensive ammunition are the only ammunition permitted to be sold. The only exceptions being for exceptions as noted under #2 and those that protect them or are on active duty with the armed forces while outside the State.

5. Government-introduced wolves are to be fed, protected and ignored by all “ranchers” (soon to include everyone except those exempted by government in writing). No lethal controls are hereby authorized for anyone not mentioned under #2 until after pleading to and receiving from government a specific permit. No permits are authorized until further notice.

It all reminds me of a college philosophy class I took many years ago. The (crooked) syllogism emerging from all this would look something like:

California is ruled by the Procedures of the Communist Manifesto.
California is a State in the United States of America.
Therefore, The USA is ruled by the Procedures of the Communist Manifesto.

This wolf model from California is but one of a succeeding progression of precedents that we continue to ignore at our own peril.

- Like US Fish and Wildlife Service increasingly evading responsibility for harms and costs they impose under the auspices of “saving X, Y & Z” leads to an EPA that is not responsible for or liable for the destruction of the Animas and San Juan Rivers or answerable to the residents of the States and Reservations they have affected.
- Or how the responsibility and liability for all the annual “catastrophic” forest fires, deaths and property losses throughout the West are evaded by the US Forest Service and the Sierra/Wilderness/NRDC/et al “Bunches” that cause them.
- Or how the National Park Service is not accountable, responsible or liable for the deaths of visitors gored by a mountain goat that for years had threatened visitors or all the hikers and campers killed by grizzly bears or gored by “free-roaming” buffalo.

So too have these despicable “Stakeholders composed a Wolf Manifesto that serves many other foul agendas and that others must live by or feel the harsh retribution of a government that no longer even gives lip service to the history and traditions of the US Constitutional Republic and has adopted disproven communist principles that give them short term returns and surely an inevitable pushback that, like King George and his servants, they will one day regret.

Blast From the Past: Commentary by Jim Beers: The Same Tired Nostrums

By Rich Kozlovich

This appeared in P&D on Tuesday, June 28, 2016. That was five years ago, and, as you read this you can't help but conclude nothing has changed.

By Jim Beers,

Am I the only one seeing the fatally-flawed EU bureaucratic processes in the never-ending reporting of increasingly horrific and unmanageable wildfires in the western US? Your article, “Dead Trees Intensify Wildfire Risk” is but the latest in recent years of the government land-owning bureaucrats (USFS, NPS, USFWS, BLM, States, et al) blaming “Drought, extreme heat and high winds” and American journalists busily copying down their words and calling it “reporting”.

I submit it is intentionally misleading to blame “Bark beetles, heat and California’s five-year drought” for “66 million” dead trees.  Think about, ask about and then report about:

  • All of the expanding government land ownership (and private property eased with government funding) where forest management of trees and range management of forage plants (fuel for fires) have been eliminated by regulations, policies, and philosophies of agencies that have vilified logging and sawmills; grazing and ranching; access roads (used for access to fight fires and make breaks) just as they have hunters, trappers and other legitimate users, uses of and generators of revenue for management from Renewable Natural Resources from the land and the economic lifeblood of rural communities.
  • The effects of radical environmental policies and programs adopted by government land-managers and the bureaucratic workforces in recent years from Wilderness and Roadless Areas to “Critical” Habitat Declarations (think Spotted Owl) and government bureaucracies as tyrannical enemies (the correct word) of rural residents, rural communities, Local governments and the revenues that they must have to exist.
  • The philosophical and human values in both bureaucracies and Universities underpinning current government land non-management and former government Renewable Natural Resources management.  Examine the rural worlds they once were, and now are, responsible for creating in addition to fewer catastrophic fires and widespread destruction of Rural America within, around and near these government fire pits.
“66 Million Dead trees” were once live trees that if carefully managed through logging would be far more resistant to beetles, drought and other natural mayhem.  Fires are much more manageable to contain when roads (logging, access, et al) exist and water is not off-limits because of some fish.  Fuel is what burns, and fuel is much more limited (and fires less intense and difficult to fight) when forest and range plants are limited by logging and the grazing of healthy wild and domestic animals.

If there was a “BREXIT” vote for Rural Americans (unencumbered by urban idealists’ votes and political majorities that are insulated from their government-enforced imaginings) Americans would all be even more surprised than the British and European “establishment” was by the results of “BREXIT”.

An Answer to Federal Environmental/Animal Rights Oppression

By Jim Beers 17 November 2016

For anyone that has been harmed by:
  • Federal land management
  • Federal land non-management
  • Wilderness
  • Endangered Species
  • Scenic/Historic “Declarations”
  • Federal usurpation of State authorities and jurisdictions
  • US Fish & Wildlife Service/US Forest Service/National Park Service regulations, programs and actions under federal authorizing laws such as Refuge Administration Act, Forest Service Organic Administration Act, National Park Service Act, etc.
  • Animal Welfare Act
And a host of similar federal laws that I am sure others can name consider what they all have in common.

They are all congressionally crafted and Presidentially-signed federal laws that created NEW federal authorities and jurisdictions. What Washington lawmakers create; they can limit. What States and their residents have lost; they can reclaim. These NEW authorities and jurisdictions either usurped existing state authorities and jurisdictions or created previously non-existent authorities and jurisdictions. In either case, federal lawmakers created new federal authorities and jurisdictions that have proven to be immune to state governments, local governments or individual citizens’ pleas for relief from their growing oppressions. In addition to these oppressions of and losses to, especially rural communities and rural businesses; federal bureaucracies, federal spending and federal costs have quadrupled from 1960’s levels and tax receipts (federal, state and local) have dwindled precipitously from destroyed rural businesses and reduced rural activities.

Congress and Presidents created the laws underpinning the destruction and then subsequently refused to address the growing problems they have created. Since they created them and refuse to amend, much less repeal, them; and noting the hysteria among certain urban segments of society when their less numerous rural brethren seek relief from them: I offer the following solution.

The Republican President-elect and the recently-converted US Senate Majority Leader and US House of Representatives Speaker all agree they want to 1.reduce the federal debt; 2.reduce federal regulations; and 3.grow the economy. Rural America is crying for help that would contribute significantly to all three of these things and this is how.

Congress and the President could pass a simple and open-ended federal Act that would simply state,

“Any federal program, activity or action, excepting law enforcement involving interstate implications, authorized under any of the following laws must be annually approved by the state government wherein any such federal activity by any federal employee or contractor is proposed or taking place.

(For instance, add or delete as you think right):
  • Endangered Species Act
  • Animal Welfare Act
  • Refuge Administration Act US Forest Service Organic Administration Act
  • National Park Service Act
  • Land and Water Conservation Fund Act
  • Wild and Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act
  • Wilderness Act
Note that none of these examples are based on a TREATY, they are each based on a Congressionally-crafted authority that Congress could limit or repeal with a simple vote and the signature of a cooperating President as we have for at least the next two years in Washington: a Washington, by the way, that trumpets a desire to reduce regulations and grow the economy. Such an open-ended (Laws could be added or deleted with a simple amendment) law would cover not only jurisdiction over wolves, grizzlies, suckers, smelt, etc.; it would cover management and non-management of federal lands from year to year. State governments (closer to, and more responsible to, rural Americans forced to live with these increasingly destructive federal activities) by denying all or portions of such federal activities in their state will reduce federal spending and federal regulatory/programmatic activities harming state residents, state communities and state economies thereby growing their economies as Washington says it wants.

Governors and state legislatures could make their approval processes as onerous or quick as they desire. Sure the Californias and New Yorks would rubber stamp any federal program but a lot more of the Wyomings, Oklahomas and South Carolinas (think the Red/Blue map) would tell the federal bureaucrats to either shape up what they do in THEIR STATE or take a hike. The result would be an increase of economic activity and tax revenue in many rural economies that would not only grow the national economy in a measurable degree; it would reinvigorate local economies: the concomitant reduction in federal spending and federal employment would provide the other thing the new Washington triumvirate (President/Majority Leader and Speaker) seeks – reduced regulations and reduced federal spending with increased tax revenue to reduce the national debt.

That knocking rural America hears from mid-town Manhattan right now is Opportunity: that warm glow on your face is a hot iron, and the time to strike is now. Talk to your federal Representatives and Senators now because they are all worried about 2018 and 2020. If this simple request to relieve rural America and State governments from federal oppression is openly opposed by the current federal politicians of either or both parties; who knows what the political landscape will look like 2 or 4 years down the road? If it gets passed, rural America could well be back on the road to recovery: if it is proposed and defeated, there could be a big turnover of anti-rural politicians in the next election – either way rural America might well be far better off.

If you found this worthwhile, please share it with others. Thanks.

The Cock Crows for Rural America

By Jim Beers

Only hours ago, Donald Trump was elected the 45th President of the United States. Whatever your opinions about Mr. Trump and no matter how you voted: Rural Americans should consider a Psalm that has never left my memory since I first read it; it is the analogy of the sentry as the man yearning for God. While Mr. Trump and politics are not subjects of spiritual purpose, it is fair to say that Rural America, like that sentry, has been in an increasingly dark night of government abuse for decades and relief is coming.

Whether it is:

- GI (Government Issue) wolves killing domestic and wild animals of value or threatening the safety of children and the elderly.
  • GI grizzly bears killing campers, hunters, bicyclists and others.
  • Fishy claims destroying agriculture or specious claims about birds destroying timber management and entire Counties from government services to families.
  • Government land closures destroying communities and economies while causing immense and spectacularly expensive fires that destroy homes and communities.
  • Alliances between bureaucrats and radical organizations to pass, modify and then invoke laws to destroy dams, claim absolute federal hegemony over every aspect of Rural Life from “ALL WATERS OF THE US” to closing the last lead mine and smelter as a clandestine tool of gun control.
  • Debilitating Executive Order after Executive Order issued with disdain that exceeds the “Orders” of Czars, Emperors, Kings and modern day dictators.
The list could go on almost forever but I leave it to you to note the federal oppressions affecting your family, your community and your state.

It is an undeniable fact that no American President or “his” bureaucrats of the last 25 years has done any more than increase the presence of wolves and grizzly bears, or “Declare” Wildernesses and “Sanctuaries”, and grow the federal workforce as they tighten the covert relationships between bureaucrats and radical groups that trade money, jobs and influence at the expense of Rural America.

If I had a nickel for every time I wrote or spoke about the necessary reforms as things got worse and was told (4 days ago was the most recent) “Oh you’ll never be able to do anything about ‘it’”, I could move to one of those gated communities with all the “successful” bureaucrats that have been destroying Rural America. Well the cock has just crowed and slivers of light are just visible on the horizon.

Donald Trump is an outsider that overcame the “establishment” in his own Party and the opposition. He overcame a very hostile media and a punditry of arrogant mavens. The foregoing are and have been the furtive soldiers of the environmentalist/animal rights’ organizations destroying Rural America as well as Constitutional governance and the Rights of all Americans while disguised as saviors of “the ecosystem”. He owes none of them anything.

Donald Trump is faced with two things of importance to Rural Americans. While he faces many other challenges, he wants and needs to: 1.) Reduce government spending and 2.) Grow the economy.

Reducing the Executive Orders; the size of the federal workforce, the overreach of environmental jurisprudence (i.e. laws, regulations, etc.) and restoring renewable natural resource management to government lands as they are REDUCED will do those TWO THINGS President Trump desires and Rural America sorely needs:

1.) Reduce Government Spending.
2.) Grow the Rural (and American) Economy.

Think of it as a WIN/WIN.

Now is the time to identify THE LAWS that are the basis of the regulations that are causing all of the rural mayhem affecting you and your communities. Those laws must be either:

A. Amended.
B. Repealed (like Prohibition).
C. Replaced, or
D. Limited in scope, jurisdiction and authority. (See my 29 October 2016 article titled Without Consent in an email with the subject line A Proposal for President Trump.) All of these unjust and un-Constitutional laws and bureaucratic rules, i.e. ESA, EPA, Land Acquisitions, etc.: are based on laws passed by Congress and signed by the President. Therefore, the Congress and the President can create restrictive requirements for State Government Approvals Required for any federal action under color of named laws.

Now identify re-elected and new politicians that supported President Trump from the get-go and potential appointees as they are revealed, and share your ideas (under A, B, C, or D above) and ask them to sponsor such actions both because of the harms they are creating AND BECAUSE THEY WILL REDUCE GOVERNMENT SPENDING & GROW THE US (especially the rural) ECONOMY.

Tell your state government from the Governor on down to your bureaucrats to get behind (in a direct and forceful way) your proposals BECAUSE THEY WILL RESTORE STATE AUTHORITY AND JURISDICTION. Remind them that this a serious matter and any demurring on their part will lead to hard ball politics to replace them at the earliest opportunity. We may have only four years to set right 25 years of federal actions that are increasingly transforming rural America into an unused, uninhabited and unmanaged fantasy land for urban votes to create Senators and Representatives that “run things” for 30, 40 and even 50 years. Is it any wonder that Washington treats rural Americans like 2nd class “quasi-legal” citizens?

As I wrote about a month ago: “If not Trump; who? If not now, when?” Trump will be President in January and we must take every advantage of this opportunity.

I mentioned a Psalm at the beginning of this piece that has long come to my mind. As an old shipboard watch officer, game warden, policeman, special agent and security officer I have stood many watches at all hours. Some were hidden in trees to observe hunters from their arrival, some were in woods to guard high profile persons and many were simply in silent control rooms or lonely wings of a ship’s bridge but they all shared one thing; the aching tiredness you feel late in the night as you fight sleep and try to stay alert. That Psalm goes, “My heart yearns for you like a sentry yearns for the dawn.”

For those that have not fallen asleep, the cock is crowing and the light of dawn is appearing. It is time for rural Americans to buck up and take advantage of the day after an insufferably long night.

The Thing Forgotten

Jim Beers

Jason Riley’s paean to the “Smoke-Filled Room” overlooks one thing that periodically becomes the most important thing in governance.

While noting the imagined advantages of the party bosses-based system such as “organization”; “how to turn out the vote”; and “how to pick capable candidates who are less likely to polarize and more likely to win”: Mr. Riley is silent about the one supremely important political necessity they cannot and will not provide.

Reforms and changes are of vital importance periodically if any society, under any system, is to survive. That is precisely anathema to the inhabitants of the “smoke-filled room” of both parties. Not only do they oppose reforms; their very existence depends on crushing changes and marginalizing outsiders.

Is it any wonder that Donald Trump, a consummate outsider, is, despite being supported today by millions of voters of all stripes; the target of the political “establishment”, those lobbyists benefitting from the current political status quo, and media political mavens dedicated to preserving their own status?

Millions of us believe the Nation is not being run in the best interests of the citizenry and the only hope of restoring good governance is an outsider with a proven record of accomplishment that shares our concerns and, simultaneously, the contempt of the mythical cigar smokers Mr. Riley would resurrect.

Without Consent!

By Jim Beers

I, like many of you, have been mesmerized by the up/down polling, media trickery and political establishment treachery of the Presidential campaign. I wrote months ago of the many reasons why I supported Trump and since then I have remained a quiet observer working on a play about the things I hold dear.

This short piece is meant to suggest something for you and your friends and families to consider concerning all of the environmental/animal rights’ federal intrusions that are ruining Rural America and ultimately the Constitutional Republic we are losing.

I have generated many sneers and guffaws over the years when I say we must repeal The Endangered Species Act, The Wilderness Act, Animal Welfare Act, Wild and Free Roaming Horses and Burros Act, National Park Services Act, National Wildlife Refuge Administration Act, Taylor Grazing Act, Wild and Scenic Rivers Act, (etc.), and the authority of the federal government to acquire private property or state property, or to take or financially support the acquisition of easements on private property land uses or disposals.  My experience has been that anyone aware of the resulting cabal of state and federal bureaucrats allied with the environmental/animal rights lobby groups cannot help but be aware of how these laws and their administration has spawned a web of laws and regulations that has become an unstoppable army of activists perverting state governments, destroying Local governments, and building a federal dictatorship that, like the Soviet model, is destroying America and placing the remains under elite establishment rulers.

You need look no further than wolves, free roaming buffalo or grizzly bears forced into settled landscapes by federal interlopers.  Local people suffering; rural America becoming a wasteland; and the endless game-playing with crooked courts, changing regulations, perfidious law enforcers, aristocratic politicians and a media that is little better than science fiction writers are the result.  It all began with high-falluting nonsense about “saving” this, that and the other thing (snail darters, eagles, baby seals, etc.) and it speed towards open borders, an unsustainable national debt and the encroachment of Russia, China and an explosion of Islamic terrorism.

If you share these concerns about my earlier mention of federal laws (feel free to add your own like intrastate EPA mandates regarding things like coal mining, lead mining/smeltering, and birthing unlimited federal jurisdictions like declaring authority over “ALL WATERS of the US) I ask you to consider the following.

Recognizing how we are all skeptical (actually afraid) about any chance of repealing these federal abominations; and agreeing that the Democrats, Socialists, and most Establishment Republicans from the Bushes to the McCains and Romneys likewise are about as likely to repeal these laws as they are to vote themselves term limits or cut their political paychecks and benefits: we may have an opportunity.

IF Donald Trump gets elected, there may be a period of reforms in the offing.  Depending on his Cabinet and his appointees, there may even be a chance to put forward some REAL reforms.  In fact there may even be some Republicans, Democrats and Socialists amenable to supporting reforms whether for re-election reasons or because of REAL pressure from those that elected them and that used to be forgotten promptly until the next election.

Do we ask them to repeal the aforementioned laws?  No.  I propose we lobby, pressure, bug and bother them to pass another federal law.  Use your own words or ask a lawyer or trusted politician about wording or designing the new law, but I think it should go like this:
The Constitutional Powers Affirmation Act

As of this date and henceforth any and all federal expenditures, activities, programs, Declarations or other actions by any federal Elected official Department, Agency or federal employee acting within or affecting any individual State, its’ economy, or its’ residents utilizing the auspices, authority or jurisdiction of:

The Endangered Species Act
The Wilderness Act
Wild and Free Roaming Horses and Burros Act
National Park Services Act
National Forest Management Act
National Wildlife Refuge System Administration Act
Taylor Grazing Act
Wild and Scenic Rivers Act
National Heritage Preservation Act (add your own here)

Or any private property acquisition, easement or financial assistance for the purposes of or utilizing the authorities of such laws MUST HAVE THE WRITTEN CONSENT OF THE STATE GOVERNMENT OF THE STATE WHEREIN SUCH ACTIONS, PROGRAMS, ACQUISITIONS OR ASSISTANCE ARE TO TAKE PLACE.

It is short, sweet and to the point!

Would a President Trump, or Trump appointees, or chastened federal politicians support such a bill?  I do not know.

Would such responsibility be welcomed or supported by state governments?  I suppose the California’s and Illinois’ would shudder in horror while the Wyoming’s and Texas’ would cheer and say, “bring it on”.

Note this; if your state government let the federal government continue to abuse you – you have a far better chance of kicking the State bums out than you have had the last 30 years while they all ate their lunch at high-priced French restaurants in Washington with lobbyists.

Your state government could make it as hard or as easy (expensive or affordable and complex or understandable) as they want.  They could give the approval authority to the Governor or the Legislature or some Committee or even the state Wildlife/Environment Director.  They could make it a blanket authority or a periodic authority.  They could make it specific or they could make it broad.  Who they give it to and what they do will tell you a lot about what needs changing in your state.  In those states with Chicago’s, Boston’s and Seattle’s; the rural sectors will have a better fighting chance for rural “Tranquility” than they do when these urban wonderlands are allied with the federal behemoth on top of the public employee unions and the radical lobby groups.

This is only a suggestion of a possibility given the anti-establishment / non-politician victory a Trump administration could portend.

When the dust settles in 10 days and all the “pundits”, lobbyists, “smart people” and Establishment politicians are either hiding in that cave with Governor Kaisich or crowing “see we told you so” this suggestion might be possible or it might be a subject of ridicule and humor.  Either way, I make it in good faith and with a hopeful heart.

The Emasculated Military

Reported by Jim Beers

Emasculated - (e-mas-cu-late, adj.1. to castrate, 2. to deprive of strength or vigor; to weaken; render effeminate.

The following article (The Emasculated Military) was just sent to me by a respected friend, colleague and WWII/Korea Marine Veteran.  He served Gov. Reagan as Director of California Dept. of F&G and Pres. Reagan as Asst. Secretary for Fish & Wildlife and Parks, US Department of the Interior.

Jim

While “emasculated” is a perfectly fine and accurate word to describe the US Military today; I believe there is rather an even broader infection causing the decay OF American society on many fronts as the author details about the US Military.  Therefore I prefer to describe this as a “Feminized” military, not due necessarily or even simply to the pervasive presence of females and government discrimination on behalf of females in all aspects of society, but rather to the overall shift we see in the federal bureaucracy, courts and political life from self-reliance; individual freedoms; protected rights; families; and churches and communities wherein fathers and husbands are present and provide sustenance and protection to their families as countless generations have done before them.

That we are being “changed” to a mother-like society run by an unlimited and all-powerful government ruling by guile and lawless deceit is a fact.  That this is being done in total disregard of our Constitution that created our government whose charge and authority was and is essentially national defense and protecting our “unalienable rights” is reminiscent of remembering that Hitler was elected and Nero and Caligula were confirmed by the Roman Senate.

A few examples of this national descent into feminized anarchy are:
  • “No one needs a gun”;
  • “criminals need understanding not punishment”
  • “killing animals for any reason is wrong”
  • “vegetarian diets are best for you according to me”;
  • “government should provide us everything it can and we should obey our leaders in all things”;
  • “ranching, hunting, fishing, trapping, forest management for human benefit, livestock grazing, wearing furs and animal ownership of everything from dogs to sheep is all wrong and should be eliminated”;
  • “all animals should be treated as humans”;
  • “private property is wrong, the village (i.e. government), should control all property just like it should raise (i.e. indoctrinate) children”;
  • “children” (i.e. boys) that use their fingers to simulate a gun on playgrounds or that eat their pop-tart into the form of a gun should be treated like Michael Vick, scarred for life and publicly humiliated; just as no children should be allowed to ‘win’ games”;
  • Churches that teach “there is no sin or punishment and if there is a God he will be waiting for us with our golf clubs and golden retriever somewhere in the clouds” (“now go to sleep, child”);
  • “animals (especially large predators) are, like criminals, only dangerous because of how they have been treated and must, again like criminals, be given preferences and avoided by others or their crimes are the fault of their victims”;
  • “catastrophic fires due to overgrown national lands and ‘Wilderness’ that cause billions of dollars of property loss and many deaths only prove that people living or recreating in such areas, like hunters, dog owners and ranchers in wolf ‘country”, do so at their own risk”;
  • Old people losing their property and civil rights and even the lives of their loved ones for contrived “charges” resulting from unwarranted searches by rogue police out of some cheap, violent movie for accusations of “mistreated” or “hoarded” animals experience incarceration and treatment far worse than what drug traffickers and urban thugs (whose crimes affect human life as compared with animals) receive for their incredibly more serious crimes are a heinous scar on the nation;
Lawyers that refuse to defend the above either for fear of hostile animal “‘rights” (???) repercussions or because “there is no money in it” are like all the scientists and veterinarians that avoid and deny the terrible truths about unmanaged wildlife, wildlife disease threats and the dangers to all Americans from large predators like wolves, grizzly bears and cougars (called mountain lions, panthers and other euphemisms) for fear of losing business or the acclaim of their customers.

These lawyers, veterinarians and scientists’ et al are like court-appointed foster parents and “guardians’ that are only in it for the money without even a modicum of concern for the child in their “care”. Like modern politicians and bureaucrats they have forsaken their humanity and moral responsibility.

As Sir Thomas More observed in the play A Man for All Seasons set in 1535 England; while before the English Parliament instructed by the King to find him guilty and execute him: when they brought a “witness” [a lying former servant] to testify how Thomas had spoken treason against the King [something he had never done], Thomas was asked what he had to say about these charges.

He looked at the exquisitely dressed liar that wore a gold chain and large medallion about his neck and asked quietly if the liar could come closer, whereupon he examined the medallion hanging about his neck.  He asked, again quietly, what this fine medallion signified.  The liar answered with a smile that he had just been appointed Lord High Whatever of Wales.  Again quietly, Sir Thomas asked if the former servant knew the biblical passage that it gained a man nothing if he obtained the whole world but lost his immortal soul?  And then Sir Thomas erupted and bellowed “But for ‘WALES?!’” at which point he explained simply and forthrightly to the Parliament how he was and always would remain “the King’s good servant” but why he would always answer first to God and then to the King.

Today, more and more Americans answer only to “the King” [i.e. government] and fewer and fewer each day answer to or even give a thought to the common morality we once understood and shared that bound us together to build this nation.

That this feminizing of society from the military to the schools spawns these harridans (i.e. violent women, vicious old hags) with their demands for animal “rights” while justifying harvesting and selling the parts of children they kill in the womb of consenting females is utterly beyond belief.

What a paradox; that as the nation worships animals, coddles criminality, and “emasculates the military as Islamic Terror once again raises its ugly head with dreams of world conquest: Americans rail against ranching, hunting, trapping, meat, fishing, animal ownership, Constitutional rights, rural communities, families and ruthlessly destroys the elderly while seizing their property using unjust fiats from Rump Judges in league with Rump federal politicians creating Constitution-destroying laws for their own self-interest with a patina of “environmental” and animal “rights” justification.

There is no better display of this insanity than the bizarre blather of our President recently telling the French Prime Minister requesting combat support to destroy Islamic Terrorists after the Paris massacre, that the USA would merely offer our participation in the upcoming “climate change” Conference as a way to show the Islamic murderers that they cannot conquer us!

Whether you believe all this is the result of aggressive women or the result of timid men raised with dolls by smothering teachers, unmarried moms or helicopter parents is your decision.  That we are being feminized throughout society is undeniable.  First however, like Islamic terror, you have to be able to say and describe the problem before you can apply the solution.  American men have been warriors and heroes to their families, churches, communities and their country as the last 245 years attest.  Creating a society that marginalizes men, boys and the historic male role is a self-fulfilling prophecy that leads to doom as anyone looking about cannot deny.

Today; too many women, politicians, and non-government organization/lobby groups for everything from “the environment” and “animal welfare” to federal funding of everything, national “non”-defense policies and “race” relations are treating the men of America like alcoholic wife beaters and inferiors instead of the leaders and providers that they are.  Denigrate, berate and “emasculate” the fathers, husbands and boys of America and you create today’s non-existent and broken families and the chaos that increasingly surrounds us as I write.  Unless and until this societal travesty of feminization by government is reversed, America will continue its’ decline into ignominy and infamy even quicker and in far more ways than the following article describes about the state of the US Military, one of many wake-up calls we ignore at our own peril.
