Report: Hasbro Stops Making Gina Carano’s ‘Star Wars’ Action Figure

Toy industry giant Hasbro has ceased production on the “Cara Dune” action figure following Gina Carano’s firing from Disney’s streaming series The Mandalorian.

On Monday, online retailer BigBadToyStore announced it would cancel all existing preorders of Cara Dune action figures in response to outrage over Carano’s social media profiles — which prompted Lucasfilm, owned by Disney, to fire her from the popular show. Carano faced backlash after linking modern American cancel culture to the Holocaust in a since-deleted message.

“Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future,” a Lucasfilm spokesperson said in a statement at the time. “Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”

“The ‘Star Wars’ Black [Series] Cara Dune figure was released in 2020 and sold out not long after the inventory was received,” a spokesperson for BigBadToyStore told The Hollywood Reporter in a statement delivered by e-mail on Monday. “Hasbro planned for another production run and we were accepting preorders from that production run. Canceling Gina Carano: Work Worthy of an Evil Empire

Lucasfilm’s firing of Gina Carano may go down as one of the more 'textbook' examples of public relations blunders.  This past week the studio and its umbrella company Disney detached from Carano, following the latest in a series of social media posts which betrayed the political incorrectness of the former MMA fighter.

 

Carano – who had been portraying rebel-turned-mercenary Cara Dune on the hit Disney+ Star Wars series The Mandalorian – had shared the following on her Instagram account:

Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children. Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?

Do note that at no point does Miss Carano refer to Republicans, conservatives, or any other specific ideology.  She merely made an observation about history: something often rhyming like poetry, as George Lucas himself noted............. To Read More.....

 

Kevin Sorbo Highlights Disney Hypocrisy: Ignored Producer’s ‘MAGA Kids into the Woodchipper’ Post

Actor Kevin Sorbo blasted Hollywood’s treatment of Gina Carano Saturday, highlighting a producer who has worked with Disney and received no rebuke from the company when he fantasized about “MAGA kids” going “into the woodchipper.”  “Just so we’re all clear, he still has his job at Disney,” Sorbo wrote on social media, sharing a screenshot of the infamous post from film producer Jack Morrissey.  Morrissey — whose producer credits include Disney’s live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast — had tweeted, “#MAGAkids go screaming, hats first, into the woodchipper,” alongside a violent image in reaction to the Covington Catholic High School incident in January 2019............To Read More.....

It’s official: only liberals are allowed to talk shit about the Holocaust. That’s the take-home message of the Gina Carano scandal. For here we have a right-wing woman being shamed and sacked for doing what luvvies and leftish types have been doing for years: comparing the early 21st century to Nazi Germany.

The double standards are mind-blowing. Carano has been dumped by Disney, from her starring role in the Star Wars spin-off The Mandalorian, for suggesting that the political hatreds of the 2020s echo the nastiness of the Holocaust era. Disney’s Lucasfilm fired conservative actress Gina Carano

Gina Carano, one of the stars of Disney’s popular The Mandalorian hasn’t been shy about her conservative politics. Many (myself included) believe that’s why Disney’s Lucasfilm fired her – although Lucasfilm falsely insinuating that she was fired for being anti-Semitic.

Back in August, Gina Carano, who once was an MMA fighter (which may explain her courage), stood against the woke BLM mob trying to get all Americans to bow before it.
