Former Nevada Sen. Harry Reid says he thinks President Donald Trump has no conscience and says he’d like to see Utah Sen. Mitt Romney run against Trump in 2020 for the GOP nomination for president. The 79-year-old Democrat said in a radio interview Thursday with KNPR in Nevada that the partial government shutdown over Trump’s push for a U.S.-Mexico border wall is terrible and causing people to suffer........To Read More....

Harry Reid Calls Trump ‘Amoral’ — and He Should Know
By the way, why has Harry not paid his taxes?
Debra J. Saunders January 13, 2019
The gift that keeps on giving for President Donald Trump is that his fiercest critics on the left are no paragons of virtue.
During an interview with Nevada Public Radio (KNPR) on Thursday, former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid called Trump “amoral,” proposed that newly minted Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, would make a “great foil against Trump,” and said Romney should run against Trump in 2020.
It was an odd turnabout from the son of Searchlight. In July 2012, Reid told the Huffington Post that an investor told him of Romney, “‘Harry, he didn’t pay any taxes for 10 years.’ He didn’t pay taxes for 10 years! Now, do I know that that’s true? Well, I’m not certain.”
A month later, the Senate’s top Democrat claimed on the Senate floor that Romney, the GOP presidential nominee at the time, “has not paid any taxes for 10 years. Let him prove he has paid taxes, because he has not.” Reid provided no evidence to corroborate his claim. PolitiFact rated the claim “pants on fire” false............To Read More....

Ryan-Murray and the Fundamental Lack of Seriousness in Washington
By: Erick
Erickson (Diary) | December 19th, 2013
Yesterday,
Republicans in the Senate blamed Harry Reid for cutting veterans’ pensions. But the House of Representatives passed the
legislation first. The GOP could have fixed it there had Speaker Boehner spent
more time reading his legislation than attacking conservatives. Once passed, the House of Representatives headed
home for Christmas.
Had Harry Reid
let the amendment through on Ryan-Murray, the Senate would have had to pass the
legislation and the House of Representatives would have had to scramble back to
Washington to re=pass the legislation they could have fixed the first time.
But the
Republicans were not really interested in fixing the legislation. They just
wanted to blame Harry Reid and play gotcha with the lives of veterans. In fact,
Paul Ryan claimed the legislation would not affect veterans disabled in war,
but that claim was not true. Paul Ryan and John Boehner attacked conservatives
for criticizing the legislation without knowing what was in it while they
claimed things were in the legislation that were not there……To Read More….

Harry Reid's Personal Green Goldmine
Marita Noon | Dec 09, 2013
We are weeks away from being fully immersed in the 2014
election cycle. Predictions abound, likening the 2014 cycle to 2010—when the
House flipped from Democratic to Republican. Only this time, it is the Senate
that has the potential to change. Twenty of the 33 seats up in 2014 are currently held by Democrats—more
than half of whom are in trouble.
In 2010, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was up for
reelection—for his fifth term—and he was facing “a ferocious challenge.” He was
“in trouble.” Remember, 2010 was the year of Tea Party victory. In light of the
mounting government debt, pork barrel spending was no longer vogue. But Senator
Harry Reid, apparently, didn’t get the memo. “The 71-year-old one-time boxer
touted his ability to bring federal money to his home state—no one could do
more,” said the HuffPost coverage of his “surprise” win.....To Read More.....

“Little Caesar” Harry Reid Bulldozes Toward a One-Party System
Marilyn Assenheim
Democrats, beset by mounting scandals, the implosion of Obamacare, plummeting poll numbers for The Lyin’ King and an impending Senate election in which Democrats may lose or at least pare down their majority, have done what Democrats typically do. If much is good, more is better: Shameless and destructive to the last, Harry Reid forced through a rule change pertaining to the “nuclear option” in the Senate, designed to defang Republican opposition to political appointments and judicial nominees.

If much is good, more is better: Shameless and destructive to the last, Harry Reid forced through a rule change pertaining to the “nuclear option” in the Senate, designed to defang Republican opposition to political appointments and judicial nominees.
USA Today reported Thursday: “Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev.,
pushed through a controversial change to Senate rules Thursday that will make
it easier to approve President Obama’s nominees…to
weaken the power of the filibuster.” FOX News added: “Senate Democrats
(obtained)…a highly controversial rule change which would limit the GOP’s
ability to block nominees… the change weakens the power of the minority to
stall nominations for top positions. Instead of needing 60 votes to break a
filibuster, the change means Democrats will now need just 51. ” 67 votes to
change Senate rules is the norm but, as CNN stated: “…Democrats – who
control the chamber with a 55-45 majority – changed those rules with a simple
majority vote.”…..To Read More…..

'Because ... he is Latino': The glorious history of the Democrats' filibuster fight
By TIMOTHY P. CARNEY
| NOVEMBER 22, 2013
Senate
Majority Leader Harry Reid’s recent decision to scrap the filibuster is the
culmination of a long escalation of partisan tensions in Washington. You could
place the origin of this war where you like: Ted Kennedy’s smearing of Robert
Bork, Mitch McConnell’s expanded use of filibusters, the growing alignment of
the party along ideological lines or the centralization of government power in
Washington.
I prefer to
start the story with the time Democrats filibustered a qualified nominee for
the crime of being Hispanic. Go back to
February 2003, the first weeks of a new Republican majority in the Senate, when
Democrats were blocking a vote on D.C. court nominee Miguel Estrada. Liberal
writer Dahlia Lithwick at Slate covered the upheaval around the filibuster and
chastised Republicans for “the grotesque claim that Estrada is being blocked
because he is Hispanic.”.....To Read More....

Bombs Away on Obamacare; Cruz Is over the Target
by Sarah Palin 21 Sep 2013
Americans who
are fed up with Obamacare won a victory yesterday. The House voted to defund
Obamacare while still funding the federal government to avoid a “devastating”
shutdown. (I shall not digress, but it’s beyond distressing to hear liberals
try to convince Americans that any government slowdown is comparable to
“terrorism.”)
Now the battle
goes to the Senate, and we’ll find out if Harry Reid is so committed to the
horrendous “Un-affordable Care Act” that he’ll be the one to shut down the
government to fund the unworkable Obamacare.
Let’s be
clear. Republicans in Congress aren't advocating a government shutdown. That’s
why they voted in the House to fully fund our bureaucracy while defunding
Obamacare. The conservatives in Congress are listening to the majority of
Americans who do not want Obamacare.....To Read More....
