To Hell With Gillette

Now it’ll be wanting us to shave our legs too.

Jed Babbin January 21, 2019

There’s a lot we have to put up with in life and a lot that we don’t. One of the things we don’t have to put up with are the hyper-liberal political lectures that actors, singers, and NFL players try to inflict on us. It’s easy to change the channel — or read a book — rather than watch these idiots perform.  They have been joined by the people who inject the same sort of liberal politics into television ads for companies that want to preach “progressive” messages..............

They’d have me believe that my father was wrong when he taught me how to be a man. They wouldn’t forgive him for his mistakes even though — as a Marine veteran of Guadalcanal, Tarawa, and Iwo Jima — his perspective was rather different from theirs.

I’m sure these clowns would have said Dad was an example of toxic masculinity. Yeah: the kind that have been keeping American snowflakes safe since 1775. To Dad, being a man meant being stoic: girls cry, boys don’t. When you bloodied your knee while roughhousing, you came in the house, washed off the wound, put a band aid on it, and went back to what you were doing. A man — or a boy — never abused women in any way. Anyone who did was morally bankrupt and a coward.

Women and girls, because they are usually physically weaker, are to be protected. Protecting your mother, sister, girlfriend or wife from someone else’s abuse is an unquestionable duty. That means that one of the many duties of boys and men is learning how to fight and win........You — boy and man — are responsible for what you do and don’t do. You don’t start fights, but you damned well finish them.

Being a man meant living up to your responsibilities by working hard to support your family and make sure they have everything they need to thrive, which doesn’t always work out to everything they want.  You work hard and achieve the highest goal you can set for yourself. And you don’t whine about “doing the best you can” because in these matters you have to succeed.....To Read More....

An open letter to Gillette from Godfrey Elfwick

‘In order to get through to the majority of men, you need to really talk down to them’

Dear Gillette,

I watched your latest advert and I must say, it’s a good start. However, I have concerns that it wasn’t patronizing enough. In order to get through to the majority of men, you need to really talk down to them, treat them as if they were tiny children, incapable of understanding the world around them. Only then will you gain their trust and respect.

To this end, I have taken the liberty of writing the outline for your next advert and I am willing to be featured in it (I will send you an invoice along with my PayPal details).

Gillette Advert – Men Are Awful (working title)

We open on a group of adult men playing some sport or other, Basketsoccer or whatever it is they do. In the corner we see a six-year-old girl looking vulnerable but also brave and defiant. The men begin to jeer at her, calling her horrible names (you’ll probably have to bleep most of them out to be honest). One of the men picks up the Basketsoccer ball and bounces it through the goalhoop, shouting ‘You can’t do this because you’re just a stupid SISSY GIRL!’ A few of them spit at her and another one takes off his shoe and throws it at her face. We see it bounce off her delicate but empowered forehead and the men collapse into cruel hysterics, patting each other on the back as they take it in turns to flip the bird at her.............

Please let me know when you intend to begin filming as I have several End Capitalism protests to attend in the next few months.

When Social Justice Warriors run a company

Patrice Lewis joins effort to boycott firm for insulting male customers

This week, Gillette ran an advertisement chastising “toxic” masculinity. The commercial depicted a bunch of men standing behind a row of barbecues while two boys grappled and fought. It depicted men sexually harassing women. It depicted men acting as bullies. It depicted a man inappropriately touching a woman in a boardroom and “mansplaining” her point of view. In short, it depicted a bunch of men being jerks.

Rush Limbaugh summarized, “It’s got one stereotype after another of what liberals claim is wrong with being a man. … [T]hey really believe that men are bad news as designed; that men in their natural state are predators; that men in their natural state exhibit masculinity that is toxic and dangerous to women and children, and it needs to be erased.”..........

Now here’s a question: Why would a company that caters almost exclusively to men alienate its customer base by telling men they’re bad and need fixing?..............The results of SJW leadership are rather hilarious (in a grim sort of way) since everything they touch gets ruined. School districts plummet in quality. Churches empty. And businesses topple............ Read more

My Take - This used to be called Corporate Social Responsibility. I don't hear that term any longer because after a while everyone sees how insane their thinking is and when the intellectual responses become so well thought out the left can't stand the heat, so then they adopt another term or phrase, to advance their agenda  This time it's Social Justice Warrior.

They keep saying a company should get involved in social issues, and I agree with them.  If an owner wants to jump into some social narrative they should do so, and let them face the consequences, for their good or ill.  But Gillette isn't owned by "someone"!  Gillette is a publically traded company and they need to stay out of social issues because the executives have a fiduciary responsibility to the "owners", the stockholders.  That means keeping their opinions to themselves and do nothing that jepordizes the stockholders interests.

Someone needs to be fired.  Starting with the Chief Operating Officer and/or the Chairman of the Board, and then working their way down to the idiot who hired this ad agency.  So who's to blame for the huge backlash?  Just ask them - It's the fault of men who are sexist and “threatened” by strong female leads.  Yeah, Right!  You just can't fix stupid.

Surprise: Genius behind man-hating Gillette ad is a radical feminist

January 16, 2019 By DC Larson

In recent days, many online essays have rightly ripped apart Gillette's ugly new "We Believe" advertisement. One online critic dubbed it "feel-bad liberalism."

Carpentered by Grey Advertising for Proctor and Gamble's razors company, it does not detail product attributes, encourage brand loyalty, instill warm feelings in buyers, or even show basic respect for consumers. Instead, the grimly lecturing spot declares masculinity itself toxic, a peril to decent society.

"Is this the best a man can get?  Is it?" asks the painfully serious narrator, as a wrongdoing slideshow passes by.  "We can't hide from it. It's been going on far too long.  We can't laugh it off, making the same old excuses."

"I guess the guy at the ad agency missed the lesson about not taking a dump on the people you want to buy your stuff," cracked comedian Steven Crowder.

"The guy at the ad agency" is actually philosophically unpleasant feminist Kim Gehrig. Hiring her to court the male market is like expecting to accrue impressive rainbow flag sale numbers with spiels from Farrakhan. ........Read more

My Take - Well, the fact of the matter is some idiot at Gillette had to approve of this ad.  Someone needs to be fired.
