Politicization of Medicine Is Merely a Symptom of Our Culture's Disease

A pervasive agenda spreading through the medical profession at a viral pace is in and of itself a disturbing trend.  But it may reveal an even more perilous cultural decay that, if left untreated, could be life-threatening to our republic.  The trend is the coercive use of government power that places a bureaucratic thumb on the scale balancing science and politics.  The cultural decay is the rejection of God as the source of life and liberty.

It took an injunction by a federal district court to partially prevent the Biden administration from using the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act to force emergency room doctors to perform elective abortions regardless of religious beliefs or conscientious objection.  The injunction in the case State of Texas v. Becerra is likely headed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit.

The federal government isn't alone when it comes to politicizing medicine.  In New Mexico and California, doctors now face civil, administrative, and professional liability, including risking losing their medical licenses, if they decline to participate in assisted suicide.  The laws require physicians to inform patients about assisted suicide, be part of the process for obtaining suicide drugs, or refer patients to physicians and organizations who will participate in ending their lives.  Alliance Defending Freedom is challenging New Mexico's and California's laws; the cases are Lacy v. The Politics Of COVID

 At this point, due to the incessant media gaslighting around the real dangers of COVID-19, a majority of the gullible or uninformed public is at this point so pro-moist cloth face diaper that they want masks mandated by law, presumably both indoors and outdoors, from now until the virus disappears from the earth. In other words, most people are literally so frightened of a virus that, for the overwhelming majority, poses little or no threat to them that they are apparently fully willing to give up the right to breathe free air from now until they hit the grave in exchange for a perceived slightly lessened risk of contracting it.

However, there is a small but growing percentage of people who haven’t yet joined the masking cult. The media portrays anti-maskers as “COVID-deniers” and cretins who want to kill grandma, as mouth-breathing Trump supporters who think the virus is a Bill Gates conspiracy or was purposefully manufactured to enslave the world. That’s pretty much the tone Daily Mail took when labeling the more than 10,000 protesters who gathered in London last weekend to demand their freedoms back “conspiracy theorists” and people who “believe coronavirus is a hoax.” (Even so, you really need to click on the article and take a look at the pictures. It’ll warm your heart to know there is resistance out there and it’s growing. The last such protest a month ago drew “hundreds,” this one drew “thousands.”) ...........

Many Americans on this Independence Day would not make a connection between the time of the Founding and the present time. Fighting Democrats’ Dirty Politics

The midterms are in the rearview mirror and the chattering classes are back to debating fake collusion with Russia and a looming indictment of the president. Before the midterms, Republican voters were told this election was consequential. After the midterms, we’re told it is just one more split-government election, move along.
 

I’m not moving along so easily, and neither is my circle of patriotic MAGA friends.


Losing the House of Representatives was a crippling blow on immigration, the cornerstone of the Democrats’ drive to permanent domination. Any hopes of Democrats accepting Trump’s 2016 victory as normal politics is dead, and now they have Congress from which to harry and hobble the president.  Democrats justify their crossing every line of normal political behavior in America by manufacturing a Russian crisis out of thin air. The only “crisis” is that Republicans won an election, fair and square.
