Sudan Shows Leaving Americans Behind Enemy Lines is the New Normal

May 01, 2023

In 2006, 25,000 Americans were trapped behind enemy lines in Lebanon. Hezbollah had attacked Israel and the Shiite Muslim terror group which had overwhelmed the formerly Christian nation had once again dragged it into a destructive war.

The Bush administration responded by hiring a cruise ship, the Orient Queen, which brought over 1,000 Americans to Cyprus. The massive cruise ship was part of a rescue flotilla that included the USS Nashville (as captured in an episode of Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations who was evacuated aboard the cruiser), the USS Trenton, on one of its final voyages, along with hired civilian vessels from other nations that got Americans out.

Vice Adm. Patrick Walsh, commander of the U.S. 5th Fleet, announced that the Iwo Jima Expeditionary Strike Group was being moved into position so “that we have the capability to extract people, no matter where their location is.”

The Biden administration has taken a very different approach with the estimated 16,000 Americans trapped in Sudan.

Two Americans are dead in Sudan after Biden, once again, washed his hands of them.

“It is not our standard procedure to evacuate American citizens living abroad,” White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, fresh off celebrating Lesbian Visibility Week with the cast of The L-Word, announced.

In the Biden administration, lesbians are visible, Americans looking to get home aren’t.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the family,” National Security Council spokesman John Kirby whined. And then announced that, “We continue to make clear at the highest levels of our government the leadership of both the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces that they are responsible for ensuring the protection of civilians and noncombatants.”

The Rapid Support Forces, better known as the Janjaweed, are a Islamic Jihadist operation infamous for its mass rapes and massacres of Christians.

“Men were mutilated and murdered, women raped, and children kidnapped.” One survivor described how, “they raped us in a group. Some women were raped by 8 or 10 men. Seventeen women were raped together. All of us were raped. Even the underage girls were raped.”

Instead of taking responsibility for protecting American lives, the Biden administration is once again telling Islamic terrorists, first the Taliban in Afghanistan, now the Janjaweed/RSF in Sudan, that it’s their job to protect Americans. Not his job.

Karine Jean-Pierre, as usual, was lying. Both Republican and Democrat administrations had a long proud history of evacuating Americans from war zones.

During the racist Muslim riots in Indonesia in 1998, the Clinton administration prepped more than “10,000 American troops and a flotilla of United States Navy ships” if needed to evacuate an estimated 6,000 Americans. The Clinton administration had helped evacuate Americans from Albania and dispatched troops to Zaire to get Americans out of the country.

This was so commonplace and routine that we took it for granted. Until Obama.

Obama set the precedent of abandoning Americans in Benghazi. But what Obama did on a small scale, Biden has once again implemented on a much larger scale. The abandonment of thousands of Americans behind enemy lines in Afghanistan was not an aberration. Sudan has made it clear that abandoning Americans is the formal new policy.

“Americans should have no expectation of a U.S. government-coordinated evacuation at this time, and we expect that’s going to remain the case,” National Security Council spokesman John Kirby warned.

And claimed that it’s “not as simple as jumping in a taxicab”.

True, it’s not. That’s why we spend hundreds of billions on a military and diplomatic infrastructure that is capable of doing more than jumping into a D.C. taxicab to get some drinks.

Not all that long ago, during the Lebanon War, the State Department figured out how to hire a cruise ship, bring together vessels from different countries and planes to transport Americans to Cyprus and Turkey. They were on the phone with a ship urging its captain to miss his deadline to sail so that Americans could board. Maybe there was more time to do that without Lesbian Visibility Week and all the other narcissistic exercises in virtue signaling that define the Left.

Rescuing Americans isn’t easy, but it’s a nice break from those demanding cocktail parties, Zoom meetings and press briefings that the State Department and the NSC are busy at.

What was an outrage under Obama has now solidified into a new normal. Biden administration officials dismiss even the notion that they have any responsibility to evacuate Americans.

“Shouldn’t Americans abroad expect some help from their government?” a reporter asked Karine Jean-Pierre.

“It is not our standard procedure to evacumate — evacuate American citizens living abroad… the State Department does its best to provide information to citizens who are abroad and — and giving them the warning when necessary.” Jean-Pierre, resenting having to take time out from partying with the L-Word cast, responded with blithe contempt.

It may no longer be standard procedure for America, but the British, the French, the Germans and even the Italians are getting their citizens out. Much as some of them did in Afghanistan.

During that evacuation, the Biden administration refused to go out and get Americans, and woke generals yelled at their European partners that they were making them look bad. But the British weren’t making American generals look bad. Biden was disgracing America. And by going along with his treasonous policy of leaving Americans behind, they were disgracing themselves.

“The government has begun a large-scale evacuation of British passport holders from Sudan on RAF flights,” UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak tweeted. “I pay tribute to the British Armed Forces, diplomats and Border Force staff.”

Is there a reason that the Brits, the French and the Italians, who not only evacuated their own people, but the Vatican staff and Swiss citizens, can do this, but that America can’t?

Obviously we can. The Clinton and the Bush administrations did it. Evacuating Americans used to be the norm before Lesbian Visibility Week became the norm.

Obama and Biden have made a point of refusing to evacuate Americans from Afghanistan and Sudan because they wanted to make the point that the military and diplomats were not there to serve national interests, but global ones. Americans should not expect the State Department or the military to protect them just because of their birthright or citizenship. American institutions no longer serve Americans, only leftist causes. Their mission is equity and inclusion, it’s Lesbian Visibility Week: not rescuing people who happen to have an American passport week.

And that’s the way it will stay until Americans take back their country from the un-American Left.

WH Comms Director Makes It Clear They're Prepared to Leave People Behind in Kabul

By Nick Arama Aug 20, 2021

One of the questions that have been hanging out there in the wind is: what happens if we get to Aug. 31 and we still haven’t gotten out all the Americans and allies that need to get out? What does the Biden team intend to do?  It surely sounds like they intend to leave people there. CNN’s Brianna Keilar asks her why aren’t they getting out the 5000-9000 a day that they previously estimated was their capacity to get out? Instead, they’ve only, allegedly, gotten out 9000 since Kabul fell, in six days.............To Read More

Pentagon contradicts Biden MINUTES after his speech by saying officials are aware of reports Americans have been beaten by the Taliban on the way to Kabul airport and Al Qaeda IS still present in Afghanistan - Daily Mail (UK), by Rob Crilly 8/20/2021 - Minutes after President Biden on Friday said the mission to destroy Al Qaeda in Afghanistan was a success and that he knew of no circumstances where Americans had been unable to reach Kabul airport, he was flatly contradicted by the Pentagon. Al Qaeda remains present in Afghanistan, said Department of Defense spokesman John Kirby during a briefing, and yes, he was aware of reports of Americans being beaten by the Taliban as they tried to reach safety. The contradiction will raise further doubt about whether Biden is in control of the White House messaging operation, let alone the chaotic effort to bring Americans home...........

Biden Admin Has No Plan to Keep Cash Out of Taliban's Hands, GOP Lawmakers Say - Washington Free Beacon, by Adam Kredo  8/20/2021 - As the Biden administration scrambles to evacuate American personnel from Afghanistan, it is overlooking the Taliban's plans to seize some $10 billion in assets held by Afghanistan's central bank, according to congressional foreign policy leaders.Somewhere between $18 and $20 million in cash sits in the Afghan central bank's vaults and is likely to fall into the Taliban's hands unless the United States attempts to intercept the funds and fly them out of the country a scenario that sources say is unlikely as the Biden administration struggles to pull Americans out of Taliban-controlled Kabul...........

Doing Good Business Allows For Doing Good.

By Rich Kozlovich

Over the years I have been linking articles that deal with the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).  Somehow we have come to feel we have an obligation to “give back” to something.  To society, to the community or to some cause or other because we have been so blessed that we feel grateful and want others to benefit from our success, and that success can come in many forms, not just money.

Volunteering for various causes or community activities is rampant in the United States. Why? There are a great many emotional reasons given as to why Americans are so generous with their time and money, and these are all true, but they are only secondary reasons. Everyone seems to keep missing the primary reason.

Because business is allowed to do business! When business is allowed to do good business, it means many to profit so much that they have the money, time and freedom to spread their largess as far as they like - and to whomever they like. But first we have to understand the difference between doing business and doing good.

Steve Forbes makes this point:
“Just think of the phrase "giving back." The implication is that entrepreneurs or companies took what wasn't rightfully theirs and that they will make up for their business sins by giving their ill-gotten gains to worthy causes. Commerce and philanthropy are seen as polar opposites. The opposite is the truth: Commerce and philanthropy are two sides of the same coin. You don't succeed in business in a free society unless you meet the needs and wants of other people. As for "self-interest," it is actually a positive thing that people pursue their ambitions lawfully and develop their innate talents to the fullest. Commerce directs these energies in positive directions. The virtue of democratic capitalism is that one person's gain is also society's gain. Economics is not a zero-sum game as was once thought, though in many intellectual and political circles today it is still regarded as such. In actuality, businesses and entrepreneurs create incomprehensible, complex webs of cooperation that are all geared toward improving our lives.”
A lady at one of my accounts was thrilled with the idea that the “rich” were going to be taxed heavily under the Obama administration, because it was time for them to “give back”. I said that they have always given back and in point of fact they give back constantly. She laughed and I went on to explain. They give all the jobs, and they pay 100% of all the taxes collected. How? Payroll taxes, sales taxes, etc. are collected from people who get their money from the rich. On a personal level they also pay almost all the income tax collected by the federal government.

When a man builds a $5,000,000 home he is giving back to the community. He doesn’t drive any nails. He doesn’t lay any cement block or cement floors. He doesn’t hang the dry wall, or run the electricity. He hires people to do that; to the tune of $5,000,000. And there are no strings attached except that these people have to perform. And there is no government middleman taking a huge chunk of that $5,000,000.

And after that do you know what this rich person did? He filled it with carpeting! Carpeting which someone had to manufacture, someone had to sell, someone had to ship, someone had to sell again and then finally someone had to lay the carpeting. Then he bought furniture to fill the house! Again, furniture someone had to manufacture, sell, transport, sell again and deliver. I don’t know how many have been to a $5,000,000 house, but the landscaping is done by professionals and there is usually a housekeeper. And I and my friends in the pest control business do the pest control at all of them; all of us collecting salaries he generates.

He not only gave back millions to the community, he gave jobs, he gave dignity and he gave prosperity to people who would in turn build houses, buy carpeting, furniture and even maybe go out to dinner and a movie once in a while. And they would be able to live where they wanted to and go to dinner where they pleased and eat what they wanted to eat. He gave freedom.

Does anyone think that it would be cheaper if you had to go through the federal government as the contractor who hired the actual contractor or if federal employees were used to build the home, which is what they do for all the other “give backs”?

When that earthquake struck Haiti about ten years ago the people of the United States personally gave millions to these poor suffering people, and that didn’t include what they gave via the U.S. government. I don’t know for sure, but I wouldn’t be surprised to find that the American public personally gave more than all the self-righteous socialist European finger waging countries combined.

How much did Cuba and Venezuela give? More importantly, how much did the individual Cubans and Venezuelans personally give?  The evidence of the last century clearly demonstrates this one absolute, irrevocable fact:  Doing good can only be done if business is done first, and that means profit, lots of it.

According to Steve Forbes:
“Yet companies are increasingly assaulted by anti-business groups and social activists operating under the banners of "corporate social responsibility" and "socially responsible investing." Corporations are under pressure to adopt policies that can harm free enterprise and the companies themselves (Citigroup for example, agreed to limit lending in certain developing countries as a result of a campaign by the Rainforest Action Network). Companies are often tempted to appease these groups lest they suffer harmful publicity or hostile regulation."
The green activists make nothing, they are responsible for nothing, and as far as I can tell, they have only been successful at being activist extortionists who insist that everyone owes _________(fill in the blank) to promote their latest Philosophical Flavor of the Day.

As in the case of the Rainforest Action Network, and their greenie partners, forced lending institutions to stop lending for mining, logging and a host of things that would have helped people in the third world to come out of poverty, squalor, misery and suffering.  Dystopia is the Sancho Panza of the environmental movement.  Dystopia follows leftist policy and concepts just as Sancho Panza followed Don Quixote, and madman.  Doing good requires being able to do good business, that in turn is good social policy.

Just ask the people of Haiti.

Barr Sounds Alarm on Chinese Regime’s ‘Technological Blitzkrieg’ on US

By Cathy He February 6, 2020

The Chinese regime is deploying an “all-tools and all-sectors approach” to “steal their way up the economic ladder” at the United States’ expense, FBI Director Chris Wray told a Washington conference on the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) “China Initiative” program.

“That demands our own all-tools and all-sectors approach in response,” Wray said.

In late 2018, the DOJ launched the China Initiative to crack down on state-sponsored theft of U.S. trade secrets and Beijing’s foreign influence activities. Since then, the department has brought dozens of China-related espionage cases against a variety of actors, including Chinese intelligence officers, Chinese and U.S. academics, and Chinese companies. Some of these actors are “non-traditional collectors,” such as Chinese graduate students participating in university research programs.

More than 80 percent of all economic espionage charges brought by federal prosecutors since 2012 have implicated China, according to the department.

Thecommunist regime employs a wide range of techniques—such as cyber hacking, corrupting company insiders, and physical theft—to target valuable scientific and technical information held by the private sector and academia, Wray said.

“They are attempting to capture the benefits of our free society by outright stealing our technology. The stealing of technology is not a sideshow. It undergirds and propels their efforts,” Attorney General William Barr said at the same event............To Read More....

News from up north

Editor's Note: This was sent to me via e-mail with no link to it's origin, so I have no idea who originated this.   Having said that, I really I got a good smarmy little chuckle out it and I thought most of my readers would also, so I decided to post it.  If anyone has a link to whomever originated this missive please send it to me.  RK

The flood of Trump-fearing American liberals sneaking across the border into Canada has intensified in the past week. News of the results of the Presidential election is prompting an exodus among left-leaning Americans who fear they'll soon be required to work, pray, pay taxes, and live according to the Constitution.

Canadian border residents say it's not uncommon to see dozens of sociology professors, liberal arts majors, global-warming activists, and "green" energy proponents crossing their fields at night.

"I went out to milk the cows the other day, and there was a Hollywood producer huddled in the barn," said southern Manitoba farmer Red Greenfield, whose acreage borders North Dakota . "He was cold, exhausted and hungry, and begged me for a latte and some free-range chicken. When I said I didn't have any, he left before I even got a chance to show him my screenplay, eh?"

In an effort to stop the illegal aliens, Greenfield erected higher fences, but the liberals scaled them. He then installed loudspeakers that blared Rush Limbaugh across the fields, but they just stuck their fingers in their ears and kept coming. Officials are particularly concerned about smugglers who meet liberals just south of the border, pack them into electric cars, and drive them across the border, where they are simply left to fend for themselves after the battery dies.

"A lot of these people are not prepared for our rugged conditions," an Alberta border patrolman said. "I found one carload without a single bottle of Perrier water, or any gemelli with shrimp and arugula. All they had was a nice little Napa Valley cabernet and some kale chips. When liberals are caught, they're sent back across the border, often wailing that they fear persecution from a Trump administration.

Rumors are circulating about plans being made to build re-education camps where liberals will be forced to drink domestic beer, study the Constitution, and find jobs that actually contribute to the economy.

In recent days, liberals have turned to ingenious ways of crossing the border. Some have been disguised as senior citizens taking a bus trip to buy cheap Canadian prescription drugs. After catching a half-dozen young vegans in blue-hair wig disguises, Canadian immigration authorities began stopping buses and quizzing the supposed senior citizens about Perry Como and Rosemary Clooney to prove that they were alive in the '50s. "If they can't identify the accordion player on The Lawrence Welk Show, we become very suspicious about their age," an official said.

Canadian citizens have complained that the illegal immigrants are creating an organic-broccoli shortage, are buying up all the Barbara Streisand CD's, and are overloading the internet while downloading jazzercise apps to their cell phones.

"I really feel sorry for American liberals, but the Canadian economy just can't support them," an Ottawa resident said. "After all, how many art-history majors does one country need?
