ACLU’s ‘Myths and Facts’ About Transgender Athletes Debunked

Currently the Biden administration has taken the position regarding transgenders in every social arena, including the military, and that's where we'll start.

James S. Corum published this piece in American Thinker,  Title: Biden's Military Transgender Policy Will Inflict Massive Damage on Our Military, saying:

Joe Biden's order rescinding President Trump's ban on transgender servicemen will quickly impact the military, propelling it into a downward recruiting and retention spiral not seen since the era of the hapless Jimmy Carter.

In his piece he describes, what I believe are two fictional characters, but clearly credible fictional characters, to explain the underlying problem of turning the military into a leftist social experiment.

One soldier is a guy who wants to be a gal so he joins to get the military to pay for his gender transition.  The other is a career combat veteran who joined to defend the nation, and is of a senior enlisted rank.  These many times are career people with children.  They're the ones who make the military work.

It turns out the military is cutting their military budget and in order to care for Daniel, now Danielle, who the DOD study claims the Obama transgender initiative cause the military to use up resources they didn't have and resorted to paying for it by dipping into the funds that pay for Operations, Training and Maintenance.  

According to the author, the amount of money to fund the needs of a transgender is the amount of money needed to care for ten child dependents,  Why?  First it's initially expensive and the treatments never end with transgenders, and apparently they're expensive.

A doctor friend from my e-mail group reported:

Any medical condition which requires regular medication used to be disqualifying for military service.  Is that no longer the case?  Mental illness has always been a reason to exclude individuals from military service. Gender dysphoria is associated with high incidence of suicidal ideation/attempts, and a high level of dissatisfaction even if gender reassignment surgery is performed. By any standard, gender dysphoria is a mental illness.  

 

Why is one type of mental illness associated with high risk for the individual suddenly not only tolerated by the military, but also become a desirable condition to be encouraged and supported by the US military?

 

What about bipolar disorder? Sociopathy? Psychopathy? Schizophrenia? I have no problem with a reasonably well adjusted gay presence in the military, but these people are very sadly impaired to the point where they are not only likely to be a severe liability, but they also present a great potential danger to themselves.  They should elicit our compassion and receive treatment in a non-military setting. No more, no less.

I've said this before, and will say it again.  I don't care how people choose to live their lives, and if they can't live without irreparably mutilating their bodies to make themselves look like something they can never become, that's their business.  If they can't maintain the illusion without unending medication, expensive medication at that, that's okay with me too.  If an insurance company takes on that kind of care, that's okay with me also, it's a business decision, even if it's my insurance company.  Everyone will still have choices at that point.  But it's not okay with me if taxpayers have to pay for promoting leftist social issues by cutting health care costs that are needed for legitimate medical issues for the military personal and their families. 

This is a fourfold issue.

1. Allow or not to allow gays into the military. Times change and maybe things are different and it won't cause problems, but I find that hard to believe since there are all young men and being trained to be violent.  Will there be no violent interaction over this and disrupting unit cohesion? I don't know any longer. 
   
2. Health care in the military is supposed to be about real and legitimate health concerns, not social issues.
   
3. The military isn’t supposed to be a social experiment, it’s meant to defend the nation, period.
4. The left would gladly destroy the military, just as they would the police.

Women, said the guidebook, will just have to “get used to it.”..............

It remains to be seen how the administration interprets the order in specific cases, but the language indicates that women-only sports, bathrooms, and locker rooms at federally funded institutions will have to be open to biological men who consider themselves female and vice versa. That would include all schools and colleges that accept federal dollars.................
