Again, the title, A Disarmed Society is a Safe Society, is an Orwellian mockery of language called "newspeak" in his book 1984. But the fact of the matter is we live in a dangerous world, and when the general population is armed the world is substantially less dangerous because crime goes down when gun ownership goes up. Clearly that, at the very least, is the "need" to justify the "having".
One of my favorite writers is Andrea Widburg, who on February 4, 2021 posted this piece: North Carolina's lt. governor shows how to fight back against a corrupt media, with what has to be the video for all time, along with these thoughts. Mark Robinson, currently North Carolina's Lieutenant Governor shows how to fight back against a corrupt media Mark Robinson stood up before the city council in Greensboro, North Carolina and gave an impassioned defense of the Second Amendment, because the majority are law abiding citizens, including those who own guns. And I'm not talking about hunting rifles either. .Let's try and get this right. The Second Amendment is what it says, nothing more and nothing less.
Most importantly we really do need to get this. The second amendment was deliberately inserted in the Constitution for two reasons. One, to make sure you can defend yourself, your loved ones and your property, and two, to give the citizenry the ability defend the Constitution against a government gone wild and is based on English natural law as codified in the English Bill of Rights.
The English Bill of Rights became law after a politically difficult time
(actually it was more religious than political…or if you will….the
religious issues generated the political issues) in English history
where the common people overthrew King James and forced he and his
successors, William III and Mary II in to accepting the English Bill of
Rights. This was done for three reasons. There was a fight over the
authority or the King to govern without consent of Parliament and the
King’s (who was Catholic) desire to disarm his Protestant subjects and
maintain a “permanent standing army”, against the wishes of Parliament;
clearly and attempt to keep them in line with no way to defend
themselves.
It might be noted that this wasn’t a new right being demanded by
Parliament from the ruling authorities. This was merely codifying what
was always considered a ‘the natural right’ of all Englishmen, and the
Supreme Court in District of Columbia v. Heller (2008) agreed by saying
this regarding the English Bill of Rights: "clearly an individual right,
having nothing whatsoever to do with service in the militia".
Furthermore, this was not a “granting of a new right”, but codifying
forevermore a right they held without permission of the King, nor did
the King have the right to disarm them.
The Second Amendment says: A well regulated militia being necessary to
the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear
arms shall not be infringed.
So, who does everyone think this "well regulated militia" is made up of?
The general population! The term “well regulated” merely defines the
difference between legal and criminal behavior. Otherwise they would be a
mob bent of murder, mayhem, destruction.
When the Constitution was written a militia was not anything but the
general population fighting as a civilian army, organized to their own liking's and purposes. And they could go back to their regular lives and
take their arms with them because they might be called upon to stand up
to defend their community once again. And from where did this right
originate? If this is a natural right then it didn’t originate with the
King in England and it isn’t a “granting” to be given or to be taken
away by the Government of the United States

Biden promises to 'defeat the NRA' - - The Washington Times - Monday, January 11, 2021- President-elect Joseph R. Biden vowed to defeat the National Rifle Association in a statement marking 10 years since the assassination attempt of former Democratic Rep. Gabby Giffords in Tucson that left six people dead. “Your perseverance and immeasurable courage continue to inspire me and millions of others,” Mr. Biden tweeted to Ms. Giffords Friday. “I pledge to continue to work with you — and with survivors, families, and advocates across the country — to defeat the NRA and end our epidemic of gun violence.” In a statement on his transition website, Mr. Biden thanked Ms. Giffords for her anti-gun activism since the 2011 attack, in which the then-congresswoman was shot in the head and left with a traumatic brain injury and paralysis that ended in her eventual resignation...........
Get Ready for the Biden Gun Grab - Andrew Pollack Jan 10, 2021 - Democrats now have single-party control of the federal government.
President Joe Biden styled himself as the most moderate candidate his
party had to offer. And still, during the campaign he promised to put
Beto O’Rourke – the man who blurted out “Hell yes, we’re going to take
your AR-15s” in charge of his administration’s gun policies. Whether
or not President Biden and gun czar Beto aim for a program of national
gun confiscation, we should expect some sort of major crackdown against
the Second Amendment and against our other liberties. The congressmen
who ducked, covered, and cowered – in now iconic photos – when
protestors entered Capitol Hill will almost certainly draw the wrong
conclusions. They will not – like Congresswoman Lauren Boebert – realize
that their safety is fundamentally in their own hands and therefore
carry arms and fight for the right of all Americans to do so...........
Biden’s Gun Registration Tax Could Cost Firearms Owners Billions - by Jake Dima - President-elect Joe Biden’s proposed firearm tax could cost gun owners upwards of $30 billion to keep the weapons they already possess, according to The Washington Free Beacon. Biden plans to mandate both taxation and registration of so-called “assault weapons” and high-capacity magazines under the National Firearms Act (NFA), which requires a $200 fee per item, according to the former vice president’s campaign website. Around 20 million rifles and 150 million magazines would be taxable, leading to a total cost to U.S. gun owners of over $34 billion, according to the Free Beacon. The president-elect plans to end the sale of “assault weapons” altogether and has proposed a ban on magazines that are capable of holding more than 10 rounds of ammunition, his campaign website reads. Anyone already in possession of these items would either have to pay the fee or surrender the weapons to the government to stay within the bounds of the law, according to the webpage................
