Proposed House Rules Seek to Erase Gendered Terms Such as ‘Father, Mother, Son, Daughter’

Leaders in the House of Representatives announced on Friday a rules package for the 117th Congress that includes a proposal to use “gender-inclusive language” and eliminate gendered terms such as “‘father, mother, son, daughter,” and more.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Rules Committee Chairman James McGovern (D-Mass.) announced on Friday that the rules package includes changes that would “honor all gender identities by changing pronouns and familial relationships in the House rules to be gender neutral.”

A separate announcement from McGovern (pdf) said that the Democratic rules package will make “Changes [to] pronouns and familial relationships in the House rules to be gender neutral or removes references to gender, as appropriate, to ensure we are inclusive of all Members, Delegates, Resident Commissioners and their families—including those who are nonbinary.”.........To Read More.....

• The House of Representatives goes woke, By Andrea Widburg - One of the most despicable things that the wokesters are pushing on America is “non-gendered language.” It’s one thing to do away with work-related descriptions that focus unnecessarily on a person’s sex. For example, nobody sane cares if the person chairing a committee is a “chairman” or a “chairwoman.” It’s another thing entirely to do away with language that accurately describes a person’s biological reality. A daughter is not a son and vice versa. Nevertheless, bowing before the radical gender lobby, the Democrat-led House is preparing to do just that.According to an announcement from Speaker Nancy Pelosi and James McGovern (D-Mass), the Rules Committee Chairman, the proposed rules for the 117th Congress will mandate that any words acknowledging biological reality will henceforth be forbidden. A report from the Christian Institute says Kate Scottow has had her conviction, under the 2003 Communications Act, overturned. She had been ordered to undergo a two-year conditional discharge and to pay 1,000 pounds in compensation, but the Court of Appeal decision reversed that. Lord Justice Bean and Mr. Justice Warby ruled that free speech includes "the right to offend" and pointed out that, "Freedom only to speak inoffensively is not worth having.".......
