Who Rules in America? Not You

The challenge CEOs are issuing to Americans is that they are too big to take on and too big to fail.

Ralph Nader made the chief executive officers of America’s largest corporations a proposition in 1996. Considering they had built their fortunes on generous tax benefits and subsidies—valued at an estimated $65 billion a year back then and footed by everyday Americans—would they consider opening their annual stockholder meetings with the Pledge of Allegiance? America had “bred them, built them, subsidized them, and defended them,” as Nader wrote, and as Obama would later more directly say: “You didn’t build that.”

Federated Department Stores, now Macy’s, was the only corporation that responded positively. Half of them never replied to Nader, while others reacted so indignantly that the late political scientist Samuel P. Huntington registered their responses as evidence of corporate America’s post-national identity.

“As a multinational . . . Ford in its largest sense is an Australian country [sic] in Australia, a British company in the United Kingdom, a German company in Germany.” Aetna’s CEO denounced the idea of pledging allegiance to America as “contrary to the principles on which our democracy was founded.” Motorola condemned the proposal’s “political and nationalistic overtones.” Costco’s CEO responded: “What do you propose next—personal loyalty oaths?” Kimberly-Clark’s executive fumed that it was “a grim reminder of the loyalty oaths of the 1950s.”..........

Conservatives, Republicans, and others who, in response to these woke corporatists, attempt to disprove that a specific law is racist miss the point. There is no good faith argument to be had, no common ground to seek. For too long the right has deluded itself with the belief that the better argument will prevail on the merits.

But these people don’t care about rational debate, and as long as that is the situation, neither should you. In the current reality, only power checks power and what the Right lacks is not a better argument, but a willingness to exercise power where and how it can.  ..............To Read More....

Trump: I'm Skipping the Inauguration

Well, this inauguration will be a day that will live in infamy, so I thought I would go back into my drafts folder and get everything published today.  Wow, I didn't realize how much stuff I've been saving over the last few months.  So, here we go, and primarily I'm posting this in order to have ready reference to so many of the posts dealing with these two issues in one article.

On January 7, 2021 published this piece,  The End: It didn’t have to end this way. But most got the ending they deserved, saying:

Graham, who failed for four straight years to fulfill his repeated promises to get to the bottom of Barack Obama's corrupt FBI, called for a special task force to investigate the domestic terrorists involved in the January 6 incident. Sedition might be a charge for some of these people, the tough talker warned. The people sitting in the chairs need to be sitting in a jail cell.

Graham claimed Trump's actions before the incident tarnished the president's accomplishments in office”accomplishments, by the way, that Trump achieved with little help from Senate Republicans, including Graham. Ending their reign in humiliation and defeat, capped off with final gasps of grandstanding and betrayal, is a fitting end to the GOP Senate in the Trump era............

Like so many times before, be it a mob in Charlottesville or pro-life high schoolers at the Mall in Washington. it was death by proxy. Trump's presidency will end, but it's unclear where he goes from here. The Republican Party as we know it also is over; the GOP's disloyalty to the president and his voters in the final stretch will not be soon forgotten. And Republican control of the Senate during the Trump era ends just how it began, in making a bargain to do the Left's bidding and ultimately acting as the Democratic Party's useful idiots.

Graham wasn't alone in his backstabbing, (Singing The Evil Trump is Gone, sung to the tune of the Ding Dong Wicked Witch is Dead) and this piece is in two sections.  Part I will deal with the petty, vicous actions of Pelosi and others; the "run out the door stab in the back" members of his administration; the Never Trumper Republican legislators, like Graham and Useful Idiots around the world and the media.  Part II is about what really went on with this riot, and who really is responsible, and riots in perspective, especially Democrat perspective.

This list will be updated regularly, but while perusing these lists, think about the  The Big Story: The Biden Crime Family Saga!  (view my

The GOP Don't Never Dance With Them What Brung Them

by Mark Steyn Steyn on America

As I've often said, the Republican Party is so good at folding they should be the White House valets. Doesn't matter what your issue is, they'll fold. They fold on debt, on immigration, on regulation, on gay marriage, on Obamacare, on [Insert Your Issue Here]. Regardless of the merits of this or that issue, on the whole they'd rather pre-emptively surrender. And I got the definite sense from their no-show last week that for these guys global warming will be just the 173rd issue for which discretion is the better part of valor. Save your powder - for next year, next decade, whenever. If you're a Kansan, Floridian, Coloradan, South Dakotan or Alaskan and you voted because you want sanity in environmental policy, well, tough: the GOP don't dance with them what brung them, no way, no how...........To Read More.....
