Roy Moore Sues 4 Women, Claiming Defamation and Conspiracy

By Maggie Astor New York Times May 1, 2018

Roy Moore, the former Senate candidate from Alabama who has been accused of pursuing sexual and romantic relationships with teenagers, sued four of his accusers on Monday, alleging that they had defamed and conspired against him.

In a lawsuit filed in the Circuit Court of Etowah County, Ala., where Mr. Moore lives, he accused the women — Leigh Corfman, Debbie Gibson, Tina Johnson and Beverly Nelson — of committing libel and slander "by making statements which were false, malicious, and made with intentional or reckless disregard of the truth and with the intent that those statements be published to others, including through state and national media."  Continue Reading.....

Sweet Home Alabama

By Rich Kozlovich

Sweet Home Alabama was a song realease in 1974 by Lynyrd Skynyrd and was an instant hit, and as far as I can tell it's still popular.  As it turns out - it's also controversial - which I never knew until now.  At issue: Is it pro-South or is it Anti-South?  Is it conservative or is it liberal?

I guess I just like the song and never got that involved in looking for - or seeing - any deep down hidden agenda or meaning.   I shouldn't be surprise though, since now even Jingle Bells is being called racist.  Is there anything the left can't declare as racist?  The left declares something as racist and their myrmidons have a knee jerk reaction, just like Pavlov's dogs who he conditioned to salivate when he rang a bell.

But one thing is clear - it would appear this last election has created the same kind of controversy.

Many of my readers will have noted I’ve not said much about the Alabama race and what Judge Roy Moore did or didn’t do. And the reason why?  I don’t really know what he did or didn’t do!  I did post articles by others showing this was a political ploy and most of what came out was highly dubious, but I kept wondering: why any 30-year-old man would want to date anyone who was a teenager, if he had no untoward intentions?

It appears he treated them with respect, and it appears he was simply looking for a marriage partner who was half his age. Personally, I don’t think he did do anything untoward, but I also think a thirty year old man dating a sixteen year old girl is weird.

John Whitesides published this article: After Alabama upset, Democrats see new prospects in U.S. South, saying:
“The solidly Republican South suddenly looks a little less solid. Tuesday’s upset win by Democrat Doug Jones in Alabama, coupled with last month’s Democratic sweep in Virginia, has given the party new optimism about its 2018 prospects in the South and other conservative, heavily rural regions where Republicans have dominated for decades”
DNC Chairman Perez claims Democrats can win in every zip code in America. Doug Jones feels his efforts should be the road map and template for Democrat wins all through the South by pushing for huge black turnouts and staying far away from the far left agenda touted by and driven by the Democratic National Committee. So it appears his solution to cracking the South is to mislead them about what the Democrat party stands for and by race baiting as the templant the Democrats need to crack the South away from the Republicans.

Is that really a way to create a tectonic shift among the conservative leaning South - not the Republican leaning South - the Conservative leaning South?

The fact of the matter is Democrats have serious problems with large areas of the country once they're outside major metropolitan areas, with the exception of places like New York, California and a few other places.  In spite of the media drum beating “sex offender” and “pedophile” 24/7 about Moore, this race was close.

That doesn’t seem like a tectonic shift to me.

Conservatives won’t forget what Democrats really think of them. Hillary called conservatives the 'Basket of Deplorables'.  Which Democrats condemned her for that? Do they think no one will remember Democrats think they're Deplorable

Or perhaps no one will remember Obama ridiculing them for being bitter, and as a result, “they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”   As if the country doesn’t really understand the real issue about immigration, especially illegal immigration.  It's about getting more Democrats elected and destroying the Constitution.   I'm I overstating that?  Who is it demanding the First Amendment (freedom of speech) be overtuned as hate speech? It's not conservatives!

Conservatives see this in broader terms, with better meaning and understanding than does the media or the Democrats, so why didn't they vote for Moore?  It's my opiniion they didn’t vote for him as they would have Sessions because they just didn’t like this whole problem with Moore.  Even if they believed he didn’t do anything wrong. Maybe, like me, they also thought his penchant for young girls was weird. But conservatives have learned to be patient, and they know this race wasn’t going to seat anyone for a normal six year Senate term.

Ann Coulter (who I think is also a bit weird, so it scares me when I think she demonstrates good insight and vision) wrote why she secretly wanted Judge Moore to lose.  Her cry - Brooks 2020!

She claims “Rep. Mo Brooks was the true Trumpian candidate in Alabama", which is why she "endorsed him in the primary"……”  saying, “Trump should have endorsed Brooks”…. “but he endorsed Sen. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s pro-amnesty candidate, Luther Strange, on the advice of his son-in-law” [after all] “who knows Alabama politics better than Jared Kushner?” And I think that’s a critical statement!

The people of Alabama know Alabama far better than the national parties or the media, or Jard Kushner.  It's my view Alabama Republicans, especially the conservatives, are playing the long game.  The Democrats won a field goal.  Alabama conservatives want touchdowns.

She notes, “Sessions won his last re-election with 97 percent of the vote", as a solid conservative! She feels Brooks can now run in 2020, and if elected can take the place of Sessions as being a solid conservative thorn in the side of the Mitch McConnell Senate Republicans.

Right now the Republican majority in the Senate is 51-49 - slim but not disastrous.  Conservatives see this farther down the road. John Whitesides notes: “Democrats will have to defend 26 seats, including 10 in states won by Trump. They would need to pick up two more Republican-held states to reclaim control.” “In the House of Representatives, Democrats need to gain 24 seats to win a majority.”

Can Democrats win outside major metropolitan areas of the country?  Can they retake the suburbs? That remains to be seen and given their penchant - and need - to cater to the left wing base and the unending racist rhetoric they spew out - it seems to me to be unlikely. As you look at who took the counties in the last Presidential election – not the states, the counties – Democrats lost big.

We'll see, but this isn't the disaster that's being painted by the left and their megaphones in the media.  The 2018 midterms will be a bloodbath for both parties.  For the Democrats it will be in the general election and for the Republicans it will be in the primaries, although some of that's been fixed by RINO's retiring so they won't have to face their constitutents.  But make no mistake about this - this Alabama election isn't what it appears on the surface.

The Continuing Moore Saga

'Mooring' Bill Clinton
November 15, 2017

Compared to Clinton, Roy Moore looks like a gentleman.

That it is appalling to go back 38 years and dig up a "he said she said" story. After all, how many of us remember everything that happened that far back? I mean no disrespect to the very serious issue of sexual mistreatment but 38 years is a long time ago.  It's unfair to Judge Moore and it is using the women for political purposes, whether the victims realize it or not!

Sorry, but this is not good journalism to me. Nevertheless, it is the partisan journalism we have. But where does former President Clinton fit into this? Would it be fair for reporters now to go back and interview the women who were generally ignored years ago? Should they get a hearing?.............More

Another thought-leading progressive publication has connected the dots and realized that Bill Clinton cannot be allowed to skate on his abuse of women.  In The Atlantic, Caitlin Flanagan writes a political history of the feminist movement and Bill Clinton's sexual predation. The sub-headline says it all:

Feminists saved the 42nd president of the United States in the 1990s. They were on the wrong side of history; is it finally time to make things right?

The piece is accompanied by a copyrighted graphic (see it here) designed for a strong social media impact.  Those who see it on Facebook and click will find a well written, long, substantive, and thoughtful article.  Feminists who care about the movement will read it and absorb it, as will progressives in general.  Then they will start to speak out to their contacts.  And so on, and so on, as new ideas predictably propagate [i].
Chris Hayes was the first progressive thought leader to ask his followers to think it through and realize what is at stake.  He opened the door with a tweet:

As gross and cynical and hypocrtical as the right's "what about Bill Clinton" stuff is, it's also true that Democrats and the center left are overdue for a real reckoning with the allegations against him.........More

I have no idea whether the stories about Roy Moore are true or not, but neither do the Washington Post reporters and all the other reporters who just repeat the unverified story with no investigation.  Forty-year-old allegations are especially hard to disprove.

I find it odd that this story came up after the primary and after decades of service by Roy Moore.  Why did the Washington Post reporters wait until after no one else could be put on the ballot to run a 40-year-old story?  Isn't it also strange that a supposed sexual predator would have all of a sudden quit going after young girls 40 years ago?  Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey, and Bill Clinton never quit.  Clinton couldn't control himself even when he was in the White House.

Who gave the reporters the story?  They certainly didn't come up with the story on their own, and the women didn't come to them, so how did they get it?  Did the Democratic National Committee funnel money to a law firm so it could pay someone like Fusion GPS to come up with this?

We know from DNC emails last year that there was a stable of reporters Democrats could plant stories with and that they would print the stories with few questions asked.  We also know from Ben Rhodes at the White House that the Obama administration could plant false stories on the Iran deal with reporters that they would run with no questions asked.  So who planted the story?

The Roy Moore story has a familiar ring and methodology to it..........More

The allegations of sexual improprieties with minors against GOP senatorial nominee Roy Moore have created tumult in Republicans circles. Several sitting U.S. senators have opined that Mr. Moore is unfit to serve. We’ve even heard some wonder whether Moore, if elected, should be seated...........The refusal of the United States Senate led by Harry Reid to seat Roland W. Burris fails that test............Mr. von Spakovsky made a solid case that the Senate does not have the authority to deny any duly elected senator his rightful seat.............If the U.S. Senate were to not seat Moore, it would surely set off a constitutional contretemps between the feds and a state, and the Senate would ultimately lose. However, the Senate does have the authority to expel its members, and expulsions are final, not appealable......More

By Steve Flesher November 15, 2017

Up until one week ago, the worst thing one could claim about Judge Roy Moore was that he stood for the Ten Commandments as a judge and ticked off the ACLU. While arguments exist constitutionally around that particular matter, Moore's actions in doing so were certainly not indicative of a man with a weak character who would exploit young ladies. In fact, he stood for something and risked losing a political position. Another matter that put Moore's political post at risk was his stance on marriage. Again, he didn't go along to get along. He stood for what he believes in. His steel spine is yet another objective fact we're able to consider. This is why Alabama voters trust Moore, who has proven himself when he promises to stand on important issues: religious liberty, securing our borders (which includes building a wall), the Second Amendment, protecting the unborn, etc.............More

Establishment RINO’s Push Hard on Moore Witch Hunt asSwamp Drains
By Andrew West November 13, 2017
There is a storm brewing in Washington D.C., as Americans continue to reject the ideals of the ruling class in favor of the revolution that President Trump is promising.  Trump, much like his former Chief of Staff Steve Bannon, is a patriotic populist who believes that Americans can achieve and thrive without incessant interference from the government at large.  This includes the disturbing and disparaging reality behind specials interest groups, lobbying personalities, and backdoor kickback deals between our elected representatives and the behemoths of the corporate and Wall Street worlds............To Read More.....

Did Bill Clinton change the rules on the American political landscape?
Did his popularity, in spite of the likelihood that he was a sexual predator, change how Americans view sex and politics?  Maybe.  Maybe not.
Conservatives continue to despise deviant sexuality in their politicians, but they seem to have resigned themselves to voting for the “lesser of two evils” (politically speaking) when it comes to their candidate’s sexual misadventures...........To Read More....

Mainstream Media’s Roy Moore Hit Piece Fails Miserably onLive TV
By Andrew West November 11, 2017
The innate insurgency of the Donald Trump “drain the swamp” revolution has hit terminal velocity as the mainstream media sharpens their pitchforks in Alabama.  Judge Roy Moore, a senatorial candidate in the southern state, has been touted as a kindred spirit to the unconventional President and his agenda – a development that has had a target on his back from day one.  You see, the mainstream media and their Washington establishment posse have been terrified of Donald Trump’s work in overturning the D.C. apple cart over the course of the last year.  No longer are Americans under the impression that only tried and true politicos can govern efficiently, leaving the door wide open for the American people to once again choose representatives based on their merit and not their supposed “electability”.  This has the elite class on Capitol Hill scared stiff..........To Read More....

Attacking Judge Moore's Morality Is a Dirty Leftist Trick
Lloyd Marcus

The attack on Moore's morals is a dirty trick to get a rock-solid, courageous conservative warrior out of the arena.  Black Christian Conservative Republican Lloyd Marcus here. I call upon all my fellow Christians not to abandon our brother Roy Moore who is running for U.S. Senate Alabama. Right before the election, 40-year-old sexual misconduct allegations have come out against Judge Moore, which he has denied. Judge Moore is hated by Leftists and establishment Republicans because he is an outspoken, character-driven Christian conservative; a faithful courageous defender of our Constitution, principles and values which have made America great. Moore elected to the U.S. Senate would be extremely helpful to Trump draining the swamp and making America great again.......To Read More

How to tell if the Washington Post has it right on Roy Moore

By James V. DeLong
Answer this one question, and you can figure out whether there's substance to the WaPo's claims.   In assessing the reliability of the Washington Post's allegations against Judge Roy Moore, it is fair to ask whether the Post or its reporters have any skin in the game.  That is, will they suffer significantly if the story turns out to be false?  The answer is "no."  The story is a free shot.  If it succeeds in destroying Moore, the Post will be rewarded by its inside-the-Beltway significant others of both parties.  If the story goes down in flames, then those S.O.s, who understand perfectly that the Post is a partisan warrior, will write it off as a good try that did not work.  Who now remembers the paper's one-sided campaign against Senate candidate George Allen a decade ago?  One might assume that libel law would provide an incentive for the paper to get it right, especially when potential damages to a public figure are astronomical............To Read More....

Woman Says Roy Moore Tried to Rape Her When She Was16 and Signed Her Yearbook
Gideon Resnick 11.13.17
A woman on Monday accused Roy Moore of attempting to rape her when she was 16.  Beverly Young Nelson is the fifth woman to accuse the Alabama Republican candidate for Senate of sexual misconduct and the first woman to accuse him of attempted rape. During a press conference with attorney Gloria Allred, Nelson said Moore trapped her in his car 40 years ago, choked her, and tried to take off her clothes before she fought him off. ..........

Cruz pulls support from Moore: Allegations merit‘criminal prosecution’ if true
By Elliot Smilowitz - 11/13/17
Sen. Ted Cruz on Monday withdrew his support from Alabama GOP Senate nominee Roy Moore, saying allegations of sexual misconduct should be looked at by prosecutors.  “As it stands, I can’t urge the people of Alabama to support a campaign in the face of these charges without serious, persuasive demonstration that the charges are not true,” the Texas Republican told reporters, according to a Texas Tribune “Both last week and this week, there are serious charges of criminal conduct that if true, not only make him unfit to serve in the Senate but merit criminal prosecution"..............To Read More....

GOP leaders threaten to expel Roy Moore from Senate if he wins Alabama race

Amid new allegations that Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore molested teenage girls decades ago, GOP leaders intensified their calls Monday for him to quit the race, even threatening to expel Moore if he wins. The accusations against Moore have thrown the GOP into a crisis, splintering the party and risking defeat in the Dec. 12 special election, for which polls show. Democratic Operative at The Center of Roy Moore Scandal Exposed!
By Andrew West November 11, 2017
Donald Trump’s time in office has been a political awakening for many Americans, but it hasn’t sat well with the Washington establishment. Trump was an “outsider” candidate from the very start. His combination of no political experience and no military career makes him unique to the Oval Office, and that is precisely why he was able to handily defeat career politician Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election. The American people were sick and tired of business as usual on the Beltway, and chose to shake things up a bit........To Read More....

The Cavalry is Coming for Judge Roy Moore in Alabama Senate Race

By Andrew West September 19, 2017

The same storm that was brewing over Washington D.C. a year ago is now sweeping into the great state of Alabama, where one conservative hero is poised to make history. Those whipping winds of change are blowing over the straw houses of the republican establishment, who themselves have been tarnished by being willfully beholden to special interest groups and industry magnates. Senate Candidate Roy Moore calls for an End to Federal Government Involvement in Education

By Onan Coca September 6, 2017

This weekend, limited government conservatives found another reason to cheer, and to throw their support behind Alabama Senate candidate Judge Roy Moore. In a video Moore posted to Twitter, the candidate argues that the time has come to end the federal government’s involvement in education.
“Education has always been in the purview of the parent. They know best how to educate their children. The states have various forms of education, but the federal government has no involvement in education under the Constitution.”
Moore is up against current Senator Luther Strange (R-AL) who was appointed (not elected) by the disgraced former Governor of Alabama, Robert Bentley. While Strange isn’t a traditional incumbent, he has the full support of the GOP establishment who have poured millions into his primary campaign against Judge Moore and Congressman Mo Brooks (R-AL). In the first round of primary voting, Judge Moore dominated and won 40% of the vote, Strange won 33%, and Rep. Brooks won 20%. Both Brooks and Moore ran as conservative outsiders and both men are more popular than Strange in the state of Alabama. This means that Moore continues to have the upper hand as we move to the next round of primary voting which will pit Moore one-on-one against Strange............ To Read More.....

Judge Roy Moore Takes on McConnell’s “Slime” In New Election Ad

By Andrew West August 8, 2017

Donald Trump has been a harbinger of trouble for the Washington elite in his first few months in office, and that sentiment is spreading. The trickle-down takedown of Washington’s established and entrenched has been a top priority for the swamp-draining Donald, as he continues to ruffle feathers and shake the Beltway Boy’s Club to its core. This has never been more apparent than now, after Congressional leaders failed miserably to comply with the American voters’ wishes regarding Obamacare........To Read More......

The Crucifixion of Judge Roy Moore

October 24, 2016 at 6:47 am 1

Under the “progressive” leadership of Barack Obama and his like-minded “social justice” warriors throughout all levels of government, we have entered an era of lawlessness unprecedented in American history. This is no more apparent than in Alabama where Chief Justice Roy Moore of the Alabama Supreme Court has been unlawfully removed from the bench at the hands of liberal activists on Alabama’s Court of the Judiciary (COJ).

The case is under appeal.

This miscarriage of justice was carried out at the behest of the left-wing extremist Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), an anti-Christian activist organization that seeks to undermine, if not extinguish altogether, the free exercise of religion as guaranteed by the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

To add insult to injury, Judge Moore’s law clerks were likewise terminated without warning or explanation late last week. The Chief quickly issued a statement in response: “My appeal is still pending but Justice Stuart [interim chief] is acting like she has already decided the appeal against me.

I have asked Justices Stuart, Bolin, Main and Shaw to be recused from hearing my case. Justice Stuart’s action against me personally and the subsequent firing of the staff attorneys I hired is troublesome and such actions prejudge the case. Instead of acting as though my appeal has already been decided, I call upon these justices to recuse. None of them should have any role in appointing successor justices to hear my appeal.”.....To Read More....
