Around the Nation:
Louisiana: The New Orleans Police Department and the New Orleans FBI office are focused on DEI. Most reasonable people listening to the press conference following the deadly jihadist New Year’s Day attack did not see or hear much leadership from New Orleans Police Chief Anne Kirkpatrick. She was fired from the Oakland, California police department in 2020 after three years on the job. And yes, she sued the city for wrongful termination. And yes, she won some money. Are you surprised?
Where were the road-blocking, cylindrical columns known as bollards? How could Kirkpatrick not know—until the day after the deadly attack—that New Orleans had Archer barriers? These are 700 lb. L-shaped that are typically erected three or four abreast across a roadway or on a sidewalk to stop speeding motorists by tilting back if struck and wedging under the vehicle, immobilizing it. On January 2, Kirkpatrick is videoed saying:
“Actually, we had them. I didn’t know about them, but we have them.”
California: While parts of Los Angeles were devastated from ferocious wind and fire infernos (in some places close to 100 mph winds), pResident Joe Biden showed up the next day and yakked about his new great-grandchild. To steal a line from attorney Joseph Welch “Have you no sense of decency?” But with 10,000+ homes/structures gone and portions of the county looking like Hiroshima, it’s important to ask:
- Chief Kristin Crowley (woman and gay).
- Assistant Chief Kristine Larson (woman, gay and black).
- Assistant Chief of Operations Kristina Kepner (woman and gay).
- Training and Support Bureau Commander Jaime Brown (woman and gay).
- If reports of strong Santa Ana winds headed to the southland were in the news days before, why did Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass fly to GHANA as part of a small delegation to celebrate the inauguration of Ghana President John Mahama?
- Why did Mayor Bass reduce the LAFD’s budget by $17.6 MILLION, a 2 percent decrease from the previous year?
- What is the reason some fire hydrants were empty? · Why is Los Angeles spending so much on ILLEGAL ALIENS? Per the Department of Justice, based on per capita expenditures, the cost to Los Angeles for providing police services to illegal aliens is more than $37 MILLION! (This does not include food, housing, medical and education.) · Did Governor Gavin Newsom put the tiny smelt fish ahead of protecting Californians? (See letter to the editor below.) ·
- How many California cities sent “extra” firefighting equipment to Ukraine? ·
- Why are most Los Angelenos so stupid that they keep voting for Democrats who do this crap?
To share your thoughts:
Governor Gavin Newsom Call: 916-445-2841 Write: 1021 “O” Street, Suite 9000, Sacramento, CA 05814
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass: Call: 213-978-1028 Write: 200 N. Spring Street, Room 303, Los Angeles, CA 90012
Of course, liberals are blaming the fires on climate change. Actor James Woods, who lost his Pacific Palisades home, responded on X to one such idiot:
"This fire is not from 'climate change,' you ignorant asshole. It’s because liberal idiots like you elect liberal idiots like Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass. One doesn’t understand the first thing about fire management and the other can’t fill the water reservoirs."
Around the GlobeCanada: Canadian Jordan Peterson interviewed Canada’s leading Conservative Pierre Poilievre, who polls show having a strong chance of becoming the nation’s next prime minister. In the interview, Poilievre said:
“Young people say, look I went through, I got an education, I work non-stop, and I have made the calculation that there is no mathematical path for me to own a house.”
Later in the interview, Poilievre shared that real estate prices in Canada are twice the price of comparable homes in the United States. Moreover, he explains that with an average income and average house price, it would take 29 years for a Canadian to save up for the down payment on a house in Toronto. At this point, Peterson explains that residents of Ontario, Canada’s richest province, are now poorer per-capita than Mississippi, the poorest state in the United States.
