Solar energy is certain to provoke cheers and jeers in Vermont this Earth Day, as an increasing number of industrial solar plants are popping up across the Green Mountain State.
As eco-minded Vermonters head out to celebrate Earth Day, Gov. Peter Shumlin will mark the event with an appearance on Friday at Chase Community Center on the campus of Vermont Law School.
The event, dubbed “Climate Talk VT: Global Ambition, Local Action,” will bring together local and national environmentalists to discuss what the 2015 United Nations Conference on Climate Change means for Vermonters.
“I was so proud to represent Vermont at the United Nations climate change conference in Paris where an unprecedented 196 nations came to an agreement to limit global carbon emissions,” Shumlin said in a statement announcing the event. “States and regions are the first defense against climate change, and Vermont is implementing the policies that will make a difference in this fight.”....To Read More
