I'm Sorry, But Joe McCarthy Was Right!

By Rich Kozlovich

Yesterday Susan Quinn post this article over at American Thinker, Do we need another Joe McCarthy?, which must have made leftists heads explode.  She went on to answer her question saying:

The short answer to the title is a no! But, aspects of McCarthy’s anti-communist campaign are worth considering when the stability of our nation is jeopardized by communist ideologues.

She went on to describe how the left has been working to destroy America.

Bezmenov stated that it would take 15–20 years to re-educate a generation of students in Marxist thinking. Then destabilization would take place in various parts of our country—the economy, the schools, the government, foreign relations and defense systems—and we may be in the middle of this process. Bezmenov then predicted that a “crisis” would occur, which he describes as “a violent change of power, structure, and economy.” Normalization would then follow.

Byron York of the Washington Examiner stated that the socialists are determined to use the Democrat party to gain traction, and will eventually work to destroy them. So, although Joe McCarthy was destructive to this country in the way he pursued his anti-communist goals, he evidently had a point.

There are seven things I would like to add to this conversation.

  1. McCarthy didn’t go after Hollywood. That was done by the Democrats with HUAC.
  2. McCarthy focused on communists who infested the federal government, and while was despicable in many ways, but the fact remains, he was right. All those agencies created by FDR, was infested with communist agents, socialists and fellow travelers, including the OSS which became the CIA.   One of these agents, Harry Hopkins, even lived in FDR’s White House for over three years …. and both he and Eleanore had to know what he was.
  3. He didn’t have the evidence but the federal government did via the VENONA intercepts, which were released in 96.
  4. Both Eisenhower and Truman were against McCarthy and claimed they knew nothing about the VENONA intercepts, which I simply find to be totally non credible.
  5. The federal government at that time has been called the most infiltrated government in the history of the world.  Diana West in her book, American Betrayal: The Secret Assault on Our Nation's Character, called Washington D.C. an occupied city during those years.
  6. When the Soviet Union fell these leftists remained loyal to the leftist goal of destroying America, which is where we are today.  Among the 45 Communist Goals to Destroy America as Listed in the 1963 Congressional Record, most of which they’ve fulfilled, they’ve absolutely fulfilled number 15 to “Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.”
  7. You may wish to read this April 6, 2019 AT article by Jack Cashill, “On Joe McCarthy, Washington Post Gets It Embarrassingly Wrong.”

Here's an article I wrote on Thursday, July 18, 2024, The History Lesson You Never Learned! The History Lesson You Were Never Taught! saying:

This is the history lesson everyone should have gotten and never received.  As I have said they in the past – they just won’t teach history.  ...........

I have posted information in the past discussing this, but two things happened recently that have motivated me to really expand on this important history.  A history that is virtually unknown to most people.  First, I have been reading, Stalin’s Secret Agents, The Subversion of Roosevelt’s Government, by M. Stanton Evans and Herbert Romerstein, and secondly I watched the attacks on Michelle Bachmann.  Mark Levin noted the scorn congressional colleagues directed at “Reps. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, and three other House members who asked for an examination of evidence that the parent organization of jihadist groups such as al-Qaida and Hama were wielding influence on U.S. policy from within”, saying “The lawmakers were “treated like pariahs”!  ...........

Arguably the most comprehensive, detailed FBI file on attempted Communist and Soviet penetration of the Federal government, based initially on the allegations of former Soviet espionage courier Elizabeth Bentley (code-named "Gregory" by the FBI, by which name this file is also known), beginning in November 1945.  (This list is tip of the iceberg. RK)

The Silvermaster File of the United States' Federal Bureau of Investigation is a 162-volume compendium of some 26,000 pages of documents relating to the Bureau's investigation of Communist penetration of the U.S. federal government during the Cold War............ Joe McCarthy was right.
