On Dec. 6, 2020 Amy Goldstein and Seung Min Kim posted this piece,  Biden picks Xavier Becerra as nominee for health and human services secretary saying:

President-elect Joe Biden has chosen California Attorney General Xavier Becerra (D) to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, a critical position in the coalescing administration for which fighting the coronavirus pandemic looms as the most urgent mission once Biden takes office next month. In selecting Becerra, a 24-year member of Congress before taking the attorney general post, Biden picked someone with an unorthodox background for HHS secretary............

During the Trump era, Becerra has been among the most outspoken state attorneys general, leading coalitions of Democratic colleagues in challenges to the current administration’s policies on immigration, the environment and health care, suing the federal government more than 100 times since taking office.........

However, a senior Republican aide on Capitol Hill said Sunday night that the GOP plans to focus on Becerra’s support for Medicare-for-all and whether he truly has expertise in health-care policy.

Well, it gets worse. In this piece, Becerra Would Be a Radical Pro-Abortion Warrior at HHS

it highlights "His appalling record — including support for partial-birth abortions — reveals his priorities and anti-life agenda" noting:

One need only look at Becerra’s record to imagine what a Health and Human Services Department would look like under his leadership. As the California attorney general, Becerra filed numerous lawsuits to overturn pro-life laws in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Ohio. The laws ranged from ensuring that women were protected from unscrupulous abortionists to banning late-term abortions. Becerra justified the lawsuits by claiming that the laws were direct attacks on Roe v. Wade and said, “No government, state or federal, has the right,” to interfere with abortion.

A radical who is Latino.  Well, that's a perfect qualification for this job, if you're Biden.  But let's face it.  Do we really think he's picking anyone?  He's clueless and is doing what he's told.
