Chicago Gun Violence Skyrockets In Spite of Strict Gun Laws
Chicago is run by liberal Democrats that are loyal to Barack Obama. The Mayor is Rahm Emanuel, Obama’s former White House Chief of Staff. The city not only is having financial difficulties, but their public schools are hurting with teachers regularly striking or threatening to strike.
Chicago had over 400 shootings for the month of August. So far for 2016, over 2,800 people in Chicago have been shot and they have seen 487 homicides. For all of 2015, there were 2,988 people shot and the city had a total of 491 homicides. In comparison, so far this year, Chicago has recorded more people shot and more homicides than New York City and Los Angeles combined.
In January 2016, Chicago shattered their record from 2015 for shootings and murders with 242 shootings, 292 shooting victims and 51 murders compared to only 119 shootings, 136 shooting victims and only 29 murders in 2015.......To Read More.....
