Judge Lynn Adelman on John Doe records custody: ‘I don’t care about the law’

The presiding judge in a politically charged John Doe investigation didn’t even bother to review a warrant used in the September 2011 early morning armed raid on the home of a former aide to Gov. Scott Walker, according to bombshell allegations revealed Wednesday in federal court.

Attorneys for Cindy Archer, who is suing Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm and his assistants on charges of violating her constitutional rights, said pay records reveal former John Doe Judge Neal Nettesheim “did not review the materials before him.”

“These are serious allegations, and we expect to prove them,” David B. Rivkin Jr. of Washington, D.C.-based Baker Hostetler LLP, told U.S. District Court Lynn Adelman during oral arguments in Milwaukee.........Archer was forced to watch her neighbors watch her — the star of a very public search-and-seizure operation. And like her fellow targets, she was told she could say nothing publicly about being a target of Chisholm’s probe. Doing so could have landed her in jail and hit with hefty fines. Adelman, a longtime Democratic state legislator and a Bill Clinton appointee, also seemed to mock the conservative majority Wisconsin Supreme Court.  “Is that the new federalism court now,” the judge said.
